THE ATTENTION SPAN OF A FISH
In recent years, there has been a dramatic decline in our attention spans and concentration levels, and this is particularly alarming in the case of children.
We are facing a real crisis, exacerbated by changes in our way of life with the advent of the technological age. In the near future, we will have to evaluate and ask ourselves how the application of artificial intelligence will affect us in all areas: work, our personal lives, education and childhood.
In today’s culture, it is increasingly rare to find people who love to read; reading a book or a newspaper requires us to enter into a state of deep concentration. There are scientific studies on how reading for one hour a day has a qualitative and positive effect on our neuronal development. And yet many people prefer to invest their time in social networks or TikTok... Society is changing with this technological age, and not necessarily for the better.
Therefore, in order to enjoy a life of greater harmony and ‘true’ happiness, I believe we should focus a little more on ATTENTION and SENSITIVITY in the upcoming year. We should pay attention to our children, our family and our friends. Attention and sensitivity to the historical times we are living in, because we are all participants in a new historical moment; the age of A.I. We cannot ignore these advances, but we can decide how much time we want to invest in them! Let’s educate our children in what really matters and is a tangible reality.
That said, I hope you enjoy reading the latest edition of our magazine, the cover of which is dedicated to the new Netflix series set in Marbella, starring Homerun Brokers Real Estate Agency, whom I congratulate on their excellent work. You will be transported to an atmospheric Venice; get to know more about inspiring women such as Julianne Moore, Nora Benavides, Sandra López, Romina Pereyra, Ivonne Galván, and top professionals like Dr. Carlos Saiz, not to mention the great master of suspense, Alfred Hitchcock.
I
leave you with a quotation from Churchill, which is my motto for 2025:

TRANSFORMING THE HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY AS A LEADING FORCE IN TALENT ACQUISITION AT DANI GARCÍA GROUP
“When you engage with people during the recruitment process, you’re impacting their lives in ways that go beyond the job they’re applying for.”
With more than two decades of experience in hospitality, human resources, and talent acquisition, Sandra López is recognized as a leading authority in her field. As Chief of Talent, her strategic leadership has transformed recruitment and talent development within the luxury hospitality sector. Sandra’s ability to implement innovative talent acquisition strategies, while fostering a culture of growth and excellence, has been instrumental in advancing the success of distinguished hospitality brands on a global scale.
A STRATEGIC VISION FOR TALENT ACQUISITION
Sandra’s journey in talent acquisition started in the fastpaced world of hospitality, where she quickly realised the importance of having the right people in place to deliver exceptional service. Her passion for recruiting and developing talent became her mission, leading her to specialise in creating innovative and personalised recruitment strategies for multiple global hospitality brands.
“In hospitality, the people make the difference,” Sandra explains. “We’re not just looking for skills, we’re looking for individuals who align with our values and our brand culture. Our employees are the face of our luxury portfolio, and we invest in their growth and development to ensure they have the best opportunities to succeed.”
Sandra’s expertise goes far beyond recruitment. She leads with a vision that fosters a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and excellence, ensuring employees feel empowered to grow within the organisation. Her strategies leverage cuttingedge digital tools, social media, and her extensive personal network to find and retain top-tier talent.
BUILDING A GLOBAL WORKFORCE
As Global Chief of talent for Dani Garcia Group luxury brands, Sandra ensures that her strategies are tailored to each brand’s unique identity and operational needs. The hospitality industry is inherently diverse, and Sandra’s approach reflects this. She works with teams around the world to develop recruitment plans that are culturally sensitive and aligned with local talent pools.
MAKING A LASTING IMPACT
What sets Sandra López apart in the world of talent acquisition is not just her ability to hire the right people but her dedication to making a long-term impact on their careers. Sandra believes that recruitment is not merely about filling positions, it is about creating meaningful connections and offering candidates a path for growth.
“When you engage with people during the recruitment process, you’re impacting their lives in ways that go beyond the job they’re applying for,” Sandra says. “Even when you have to reject someone for a position, the way you communicate with them, the way you respect them as an individual – that impact is lasting.”
Throughout her career, Sandra has embraced this people-first approach. She has nurtured relationships with job seekers, often staying in touch with them long after they’ve moved on to new opportunities. Whether through direct sourcing, career advice, or mentorship, Sandra’s guidance has helped shape the careers of countless individuals. Her passion for helping others achieve their goals is a testament to her commitment to the industry and the people within it.
A JOURNEY OF RESILIENCE:
BALANCING CAREER AND FAMILY
Sandra’s professional success is even more impressive when you consider her personal journey. As the mother of two young children, she has raised on her own, Sandra has navigated the challenges of balancing a demanding career with the responsibilities of motherhood. Her ability to succeed at both serves as an inspiration to working parents everywhere. In an interview, she reflects on how she managed to thrive in her career while raising her children:
Sandra, how have you managed to build a successful career while being a mother of two young children and raising them on your own?
“It required a great deal of discipline and strategic planning. I had to be highly organised, ensuring that I managed my time efficiently both in my professional and personal life. At work, I focused on creating processes that allowed for smooth
“My role is not only to hire the best talent but also to ensure that they stay with us”, she says. “Retention is just as important as acquisition, and creating a workplace where people feel valued and have room to grow is key.”
operations, and at home, I set clear boundaries to make the most of my time with my children. Navigating the challenges of single motherhood and a demanding career has sharpened my resilience, adaptability, and ability to prioritize –qualities that have been crucial to my success.”
What has been your proudest moment in the hospitality and talent acquisition industry?
“One of my proudest moments was leading a recruitment campaign for a pre-opening luxury hotel that brought together a diverse team from all corners of the globe. Not only did we manage to find the best talent, but we also created a cohesive team that was ready to deliver exceptional service from day one. Seeing the success of the hotel and knowing that I played a part in shaping the team gave me an immense sense of accomplishment.”
What advice do you have for parents who are balancing a demanding career with raising children?
“Never underestimate the power of a support network, whether it’s family, friends, or
colleagues. Asking for help isn’t a weakness; it’s a strength. Also, be kind to yourself. You’re juggling two very demanding jobs, and it’s fine not to be perfect. Focus on quality over quantity – whether it’s time spent with your kids or hours worked at the office, make it count.”
LOOKING TO THE FUTURE
When asked about the future of talent acquisition, Sandra envisions a landscape that will continue to evolve with technological advancements, but one where the human element remains paramount.
“In the next 5-10 years, I see data playing a bigger role in talent acquisition, but the human touch will always be vital,” Sandra says. “Technology can streamline processes and provide insights, but personal connection, empathy, and understanding will still drive recruitment success. The candidate experience matters, and that will never change.”
A LEGACY OF LEADERSHIP AND EXCELLENCE
Sandra López’s career reflects the transformative
impact of strategic talent acquisition, driving success both for organizations and individuals. Her deep passion for fostering growth and helping others succeed has shaped her approach to recruitment and talent development, leaving a lasting imprint on the hospitality industry. By combining innovative hiring strategies with a focus on nurturing talent, Sandra has played a pivotal role in elevating teams and ensuring long-term success for luxury hospitality brands. As Sandra looks to the future, her commitment to transforming hospitality brands through top talent and happy employees only strengthens. With a bold, forward-thinking approach to talent acquisition and a genuine passion for creating thriving workplace cultures, she continues to shape the industry. Whether she’s mentoring future leaders or guiding the staffing strategies that elevate hospitality brands, Sandra López embodies leadership driven by purpose, passion, and the belief that success comes from empowered teams. Her vision isn’t just about building strong brands—it’s about creating environments where both talent and businesses flourish.

Nora Benavides’ birthday party
We celebrated the birthday of Nora Benavides, an icon of Marbella’s high society, at her spectacular country estate in Malaga.
Her 50th birthday celebration brought together great personalities and great friends on the national scene (Dr. Larisa Patushenko, the Ohayon family, the Campos family, Nacho Abad and Bárbara Royo, Joaquín Pareja Obregón, Dr. Roigé, the Bazán family, the Ordoñez family, the García Urbano family, Juan Moral and Cristina, the Zambrano family...).
For this occasion, she chose gold and white as the colours of celebration, colours that symbolise fulfilment, indulgence, power, wisdom, learning and purity.
In a globalised and dehumanised society, Nora prefers to surround herself with the serenity of nature, animals and true friendships that bring humility, kindness, loyalty and above all, fill her spirit with harmony and positivity. Nora avoids all negativity and pessimistic people.
Nora’s motto is ‘Love is power.’ “Knowing how to surround yourself with good people and giving them a little bit of your heart, sharing the best moments of your life with them, is what I like best,” says Nora.
In Malaga, in this beautiful country estate full of Andalusian charm, Nora Benavides is portrayed surrounded by her family, her people and her true friends.
“Knowing how to surround yourself with good people and giving them a little bit of your heart, sharing the best moments of your life with them, is what I like best”
‹‹
SINGER @ALEXJOSESINGER
Nora, for those who don’t know her, is a nature lover, so every weekend she escapes from the city to rediscover her true passion and what really makes her happy, being at her estate in Malaga and with her horses, which she adores…
“For me, this estate is true luxury. I feel freedom in nature, and this house gives me peace and puts a sparkle in my eye every day. This celebration is very important to me, and I wanted to share it with the most important people in my life: my husband, my children, my parents and my friends.”
“Let the rancheras begin!” exclaimed Nora, kicking off a long day of celebration that ended at midnight with live music and dancing.
“Knowing how to surround yourself with good people and giving them a little bit of your heart, sharing the best moments of your life with them, is what I like best”
CARLOS SAIZ SMILE
THE LUXURY DENTAL EXPERIENCE ARRIVES IN MARBELLA
Thanks to the internationally renowned dentist Dr. Carlos Saiz and his spa-like clinics, patients on the Costa del Sol can now enjoy a luxury escape when visiting the dentist. His clinics in Barcelona and Madrid are at the forefront of dental technology and quality care, setting new standards in the industry and attracting celebrity clients from around the world in search of the perfect smile.
‹‹
In 2024, Dr. Saiz opened his newest clinic on Marbella’s Golden Mile, offering an unparalleled environment for cutting-edge dental care, including the revolutionary Micro Dental Veneers. The exclusive Marbella Club was the ideal location for the new clinic, and the interior design by the renowned French firm Conceptium is a study in minimalist luxury.
INNOVATIVE TREATMENTS, PASSION AND EXPERTISE
Dr. Saiz’s commitment to innovative treatments, coupled with his passion and expertise, has been the driving force behind his success in the field of cosmetic dentistry. His journey began over 20 years ago in Barcelona, where he opened his first clinic, initially offering traditional dental services. However, he soon discovered his passion for cosmetic dentistry and became a pioneer in the field in Spain and Europe. His breakthrough came with the introduction of non-invasive ceramic veneers, an innovative treatment that does not require the surface of the tooth to be shaved. This revolutionary new technique attracted widespread media
“His signature treatment, Micro Dental Veneers, has established Dr. Saiz as one of the world’s leading experts in smile design.”
attention and transformed the industry. The success of this treatment prompted the opening of a second clinic on Barcelona’s exclusive Paseo de Gracia and a third in Madrid, catering to celebrity clients from a variety of backgrounds.
DENTIST TO THE STARS
Dr. Saiz has gained the reputation of being the ‘dentist to the stars’ over the course of his career, with a client list that includes numerous high-profile Spanish celebrities who have placed their trust in his expertise, such as Sergio Ramos, Pilar Rubio and Jordi Alba. In response to growing customer demand, Dr. Saiz is now offering his advanced treatments and exclusive veneers in Marbella.
“The clinics are designed to create a relaxing and indulgent atmosphere, reminiscent of high-end spas or five-star hotels”
A UNIQUE APPROACH TO DENTISTRY
Carlos Saiz Smile clinics are equipped with the latest technology to offer a unique dental experience that sets them apart from other practices. The focus on comfort and aesthetics ensures that every visit is as pleasant as possible, from the moment patients step inside. With over two decades of experience, Dr. Saiz has created a brand that combines state-of-the-art dental care with luxurious amenities. His clinics are designed to create a relaxing and indulgent atmosphere, reminiscent of high-end spas or five-star hotels and offering a holistic experience where every detail matters.
THE STAR TREATMENT
His signature treatment, Micro Dental Veneers, has established Dr. Saiz as one of the world’s leading experts in smile design. It has become one of the most in-demand aesthetic treatments to whiten and even out teeth, as it preserves the natural tooth while providing a flawless smile that lasts a lifetime. Ultra-thin ceramic laminates are bonded to the surface of the teeth, transforming smiles in just three appointments over the course of two weeks –and most importantly, without any drilling, anaesthesia or discomfort.
Another key benefit is that patients can continue with their daily activities throughout the entire process. They will not suffer dental sensitivity, or be required to wear temporary teeth, and there will be no visible signs that they are undergoing a smile design process. The advantages are many and the disadvantages are non-existent, which is why this ground-breaking procedure has become the popular choice for many patients, including celebrities looking for the ultimate smile makeover. While ceramic veneers are his most popular treatment, Dr. Saiz’s clinics also offer a wide range of aesthetic dental procedures, such as premium teeth whitening and Invisalign, and cover all standard dental specialities to ensure that patients leave with a complete sense of satisfaction.

THE GOLDEN MILE WELCOMES FORUM, A NEW COMMERCIAL AND LEISURE SPACE
Forum arrives on the Golden Mile. Located next to the N-340, halfway between Marbella and Puerto Banús, and a stone’s throw from Puente Romano and Marbella Club, it is a place to shop, eat, drink, socialise and have fun. A versatile space, designed for both residents and tourists, where you can find a selection of premium shops, such as Sandon Flagship Store, Lulu Eyewear Gallery or June, and where you can also enjoy a sweet or savoury snack, day or night, thanks to its café, restaurant and rooftop bar. Crucially, it is a Rolls-Royce first and an electric car second: no concessions or compromises in terms of interior space, comfort, performance or ride quality have been made– indeed, all have been refined and augmented by the car’s underpinning architecture and engineering.
A generously proportioned, visually striking two-door fastback, Spectre is the spiritual successor to the fabled Phantom Coupé. Its intimate interior provides a perfect canvas for Bespoke personalisation, complemented by a unique illuminated fascia and the first Starlight Doors ever specified in a production Rolls-Royce.
No two Spectre clients are exactly alike, but they generally share a keen appreciation of fine materials and craftsmanship, and a marked preference for uncluttered, minimalist design free of ostentation and superfluity. Often younger, self-made and self-confident people, many Spectre clients embrace contemporary ideas around sustainability, authenticity, conscientiousness and longevity. As one of the world’s most desirable luxury goods, Spectre is an extension of the people who commission it, reflecting their individual personalities and values, as well as symbolising their achievements.
Spectre’s design draws inspiration from worlds far beyond automotive, including haute couture, modernist sculpture, nautical design, tailoring and contemporary art. In particular, the design takes cues from the clarity and precision of line and intelligent use of reflection in modern racing yacht styling. Spectre’s Pantheon grille is the widest ever fitted to a Rolls-Royce. The polished stainlesssteel vanes are smooth and flush-fitting, and softly illuminated with 22 LEDs lighting up the sandblasted rear surface, creating a subtle three-dimensional signature at night.
The ethereal, celestial theme continues with Spectre’s Illuminated Fascia. Developed over the course of two years and more than 10,000 collective hours, it incorporates the Spectre nameplate surrounded by a cluster of over 5,500 stars. Located on the passenger side of the dashboard, the illuminations are completely invisible when the motor car is not in operation. Inspired by British tailoring, the all-new front seat design has lapel sections that can be rendered in contrasting or matching colours to the main base. As with all Rolls-Royce motor cars, Spectre’s interior suite offers clients near-infinite Bespoke possibilities.

MIES VAN DER ROHE
WHEN LESS IS MORE CUANDO MENOS ES MÁS
BY EVA DEL AMO
The German-American architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe is one of the fathers of modern architecture, which he always understood as an art in constant evolution. He knew how to strip his works of all superfluous elements so as to reveal the essence of the buildings and express his idea of beauty, which consisted of combining proportion, precision and elegance.
An innovative architect in Germany, for van der Rohe, architecture was closely linked to an era. Far from wanting to be the star of his buildings, he defended an objective architecture, far removed from individualism. Interested in exploring materials and their possibilities, he believed that the structure was an element not to be hidden. In his opinion, it should be presented as a paradigm of stability, minimising everything superfluous. That is why, in his way of conceiving a building, he separated rooms without adapting to the limits expected at the time. A single door was enough to access them, giving prominence to the container rather than its contents. But always without losing sight of its functional, compositional and aesthetic sense.
The last director of the Bauhaus, van der Rohe’s architecture is a mixture of conservative and pioneering. A staunch defender
of the principles of structural order, this did not prevent him from introducing innovation, industrialisation and the technology of the time into his works.
His architecture goes hand in hand with the 20th century itself. He proclaimed clarity and simplicity, combining industrial steel with large expanses of glass to define interior spaces. Open spaces that flow freely, like the sensations inevitably experienced when entering one of his buildings.
His major works include the Weissenhof Estate, the German Pavilion in Barcelona, Villa Tugendhat, Crown Hall in Illinois, the Seagram Building in New York and the New National Gallery in Berlin. The father of modern architecture left a legacy of new architectural canons in the spirit of the modern age. Two of his maxims still apply to many architects today: “Less is more” and “God is in the details”.
‹‹
“Far from wanting to be the star of his buildings, he defended an objective architecture, far removed from individualism.”
“Lejos de querer convertirse en la estrella de sus edificios, solía defender una arquitectura objetiva, muy alejada del individualismo.”

MANUEL NAVARRO MENA
EXECUTIVE CHEF AT/ CHEF EJECUTIVO DE
“From an early age, Manuel developed a love for the cuisine and products of his homeland –the Serranía de Ronda”
Born in 1964 in Algatocín, Manuel Navarro Mena has been the Executive Chef at Anantara Villa Padierna Marbella since 2007, steadily steering the resort’s diverse restaurants, where he expresses his deep attachment to Malaga’s traditions and flavours.
From an early age, Manuel developed a love for the cuisine and products of his homeland – the Serranía de Ronda. As he learned about local traditions, including butchery, the artisanal production of preserves and cheeses, and the best time to harvest fruits and vegetables, he internalised the importance of seasonality.
His passion is clearly reflected in the cuisine he presents at Anantara Villa Padierna, where a deep respect for local ingredients is a hallmark of his menus. His commitment to fresh, seasonal products is expressed at La Loggia market, where guests choose from a wide variety of fruits and vegetables grown by locals. The concept extends to the ‘Huerto de Manolo’, where vegetables are grown in the hotel’s own gardens, reaffirming Chef Manuel’s philosophy of offering authentic cuisine deeply rooted in the land of Málaga.
Manuel Navarro Mena, is also responsible for all the hotel’s Food & Beverage outlets (10 restaurants & bar) in high season, weddings and banquets.

A NEW ICON ON THE GOLDEN MILE
The 70s-inspired Italian restaurant, opens its doors this summer. Set within the striking Forum Mall building, Florentine blends tradition and innovation with its take on authentic Italian cuisine.
Spanning 800 square meters and around 400 seats, the two-floor restaurant features a downstairs dining area and charming patio. Florentine will later next year unveil its panoramic rooftop terrace, including a 360-degree cocktail bar with stunning views of La Concha mountain.
The restaurant’s interior pays homage to the glamorous era of 1970s Italy, featuring elegant handcrafted Murano lamps and hand-sculpted statues. An open kitchen offers guests a glimpse into the culinary artistry of Florentine’s chefs.
On the menu, Florentine offers traditional Italian dishes with a contemporary twist. Highlights include Neapolitan pizza and artisanal pasta, like the famed Holy Carbonara, served straight from a 10-kilo Pecorino cheese wheel. Accompanied by signature cocktails, the restaurant delivers a distinctive and memorable dining experience.

HOTEL DANIELI, ELEGANCE AND GLAMOUR
Hotel Danieli is one of the oldest and most legendary hotels in the city. Synonymous with luxury and sophistication, it is located in the heart of Venice, just a few steps from Piazza San Marco.
Its splendour lies in its three interconnected palaces, dating from the 14th, 19th and 20th centuries. The oldest of the three, the Venetian Gothic Palazzo Dandolo, was the residence of one of the most influential Venetian families. Enrico Dandolo rose to fame after the conquest of Constantinople in 1204, and returned to Venice laden with gold, marble and Byzantine art, which would become part of the hotel’s legacy. The second oldest palace on the Danieli estate is the 19th-century baroque Palazzo Casa Nuova, while the most modern is the 20th-century Palazzo Danieli Excelsior, redesigned by Jacques Garcia in 2008. In 1822, Giuseppe Dal Niel transformed the buildings into a hotel and renamed it Danieli. Electricity and lifts were added in 1895, and the last renovations were completed in 1948.
Since its opening as a hotel, Danieli has welcomed personalities from all walks of life, such as Charles Dickens, Goethe and Wagner, and more recently, film stars such as Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie, who have come not only in search of a hotel, but a of symbol of Venetian splendour with the impressive Gothic façade and architectural details that make it a jewel among luxury hotels.
ROMANTICISM IN EVERY DETAIL
The moment you step through the front door of the Hotel Danieli, you are immersed in a period atmosphere of high frescoed ceilings, majestic Murano glass chandeliers and finely carved marble. The rooms boast an excellent combination of antiques and details for maximum comfort. Not to mention the breathtaking views from the tranquillity of the canals to the imposing St Mark’s Basilica. For gourmets, the hotel’s opulence is reflected in its famous rooftop restaurant, Terrazza Danieli. From here, guests can enjoy one of the most breathtaking views of Venice while enjoying exquisite Italian cuisine with
international flair, a sweet and savoury brunch, afternoon tea, or an evening drink to the sound of harmonious piano chords. Quite an experience, especially at sunset, when the colours of the sky merge with the blue of the water.
Hotel Danieli has earned a reputation as one of the most romantic places to stay in Venice, and it is not hard to see why. From the elegant suites with private balconies, to the charming nooks and crannies of the accommodation and the gilded brocade walls, baroque mirrors, delicate velvet curtains and polished marble floors. It is oozing with art, history and glamour. The hotel’s intimate and sophisticated atmosphere is perfect for a special occasion, such as celebrating the New Year with an exclusive dinner, live music and the chance to watch the fireworks from the terrace. HELICOPTEROS SANITARIOS
CARDIAC ARRHYTHMIAS: A CURABLE EPIDEMIC
The cardiovascular intervention unit at Hospital Helicopteros Sanitariosin Puerto Banús (Marbella), formed by Dr Luis Iñigo, Dr Eduardo Molina, Dr Pedro Brugada and Dr Juan Sieira, performs all types of interventions related to arrhythmias, ischaemic heart disease and congenital or structural heart disease. We discuss cardiac arrhythmias with Professors Pedro Brugada and Juan Sieira. Professor Brugada is Head of the Arrhythmia Unit at the Hospital Helicopteros Sanitarios in Puerto Banús.
How important are heart conditions today?
Heart conditions remain the number one cause of death in the Western world. One in three people die from heart failure. Heart failure can occur in any of the three components of the heart: mechanical, circulatory or electrical.
What can alter the electrical function of the heart?
Heart failure, angina pectoris and myocardial infarction (heart attack) can all alter the electrical function of the heart. Changes in the supply of oxygen and other nutrients to the cardiac cells alter their electrical function, causing tachycardias or bradycardias. The consequences are highly variable, ranging from being unknown to the patient, to causing palpitations, loss of consciousness (syncope) and even sudden, unexpected death.
Is sudden death due to arrhythmias common?
Approximately 30,000 people die every year in Spain from sudden, unexpected deaths caused by cardiac arrhythmias. These sudden deaths, however, are not always unexpected and are not necessarily
fatal. The key to their prevention and effective treatment is a high degree of suspicion on the part of the physician. These potentially fatal arrhythmias occur both in people with structural heart problems and in people with a completely normal heart structure who suffer from an isolated problem with heart electricity.
How can arrhythmias in people with structural heart disease be treated?
When arrhythmias are the consequence of structural heart disease, correction is the most important basis for preventing sudden death. To do this, we must identify those at risk. Starting with an interview with the patient where we obtain clinical information that we will complete with examinations such as heart imaging through ultrasound, radiology (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) that have revolutionised cardiology. The genetic-familial factor must also be taken into account and all relatives of a patient with heart problems must be investigated. With early diagnosis, there are many possible treatments and they are very effective.
So, can a structurally normal heart suffer arrhythmias?
Yes, in these cases the problem lies in the formation and conduction of the heart’s electrical impulse. There are potentially fatal arrhythmias that cause slow heart rates and even electrical cardiac arrest, bradycardias; and rapid arrhythmias, tachycardias. When they occur at the level of the ventricles, we speak of ventricular tachycardias, which can be fatal even in a normal heart. What causes tachycardias that can be severe in a structurally normal heart?
These tachycardias are generally caused by hereditary conditions with very specific patterns. These include right ventricular dysplasia, which
results in degeneration of the right heart muscle and causes rapid ventricular arrhythmias leading to sudden death, usually at a young age. Another purely electrical heart condition, also hereditary, is the wellknown Brugada syndrome caused by alterations of the heart’s sodium channel, which is of vital importance for the formation of the electrical impulse. Another condition, catecholaminergic tachycardia, affects the ventricles comprehensively and typically causes arrhythmias and sudden death during exercise, because the heart cells suffer from a genetic defect that makes them very sensitive to adrenaline.
And which arrhythmias are the most common?
The heart can suffer arrhythmias as a consequence of increased abnormal electrical activity in the atria, atrial tachycardia and atrial flutter; and by abnormal impulses in some areas such as the pulmonary veins, atrial fibrillation, a very frequent and important arrhythmia.
The classic treatment is by means of antiarrhythmic drugs, although these need to be taken daily and do not cure the arrhythmia, merely prevent it or improve the symptoms, apart from the side effects they have. That is why today ablation techniques are preferred, which cure flutter and atrial tachycardia in almost all cases and in a very high percentage of cases of atrial fibrillation. A catheter is used to record local activity within the heart, locate the site of origin of the tachycardia and destroy this area by means of heat or cold.
Other common arrhythmias in young people are Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome or WPW and intranodal tachycardia, the latter very common in young women.
Without further ado, we bid farewell to Professors Pedro Brugada and Juan Sieira, in the knowledge that having them available to answer any queries you may have at Helicópteros Sanitarios is a great comfort. Thank you very much.
Advantages of and requirements for common-law partnerships in Andalusia
BY PALOMA MALDONADO
A common-law partnership is a stable and public cohabitation between two people, either of different or the same sex, who share a common life plan.
Common-law partnerships offer many legal advantages that may not be widely known, but are important to consider. So, why is it beneficial to undergo this administrative and registry procedure rather than just continuing to live together? Because, although a common-law partnership is not a marriage, it does have a series of consequences that can benefit both partners. Among the advantages of registering a common-law partnership, the following are worth highlighting:
Tax benefits. Although Spanish law does not allow commonlaw partnerships to file personal income tax jointly like married couples, some Autonomous Communities have established tax benefits for Inheritance and Gift Tax.
Widow’s pension. In a common-law partnership, the surviving partner may be entitled to a widow’s pension, but it is not guaranteed. To qualify, the survivor must prove at least
five years of registered cohabitation and that their income is below the statutory minimum (this varies depending on whether or not they have children). However, the surviving partner is always entitled to a pension if their income was below the Minimum Interprofessional Wage at the time of their partner’s death.
Work leave. Partners in a common-law partnership are entitled to work leave. If one partner needs surgery, for instance, the other can take the corresponding days off according to the collective agreement to be with them during recovery. The same applies in cases of bereavement.
Spousal Support. This is a payment that can be claimed by one of the partners after divorce if the break-up of the marriage has caused a serious financial imbalance.
In the case of common-law partnerships, a spousal support may be agreed in favour of the more disadvantaged partner, by agreement between the parties involved. If there is no agreement, the financially disadvantaged party will also have the right to go to court to claim such a support.
There is no national law governing common-law partnerships, as this matter is regulated by each Autonomous Community. Consequently, the requirements may vary slightly depending on the region. However, the following general requirements typically apply:
• The parties must be of legal age or emancipated minors and have full legal capacity.
• They must not be directly related.
• Neither party can be married at the time of registration.
• Proof of minimum period of cohabitation may be required.
The documentation required by the corresponding administration, in order to register as a common-law partnership, and which must be provided by each of the partners, is listed below:
1. Spanish National ID (DNI) or Foreigners’ ID. Number (NIE).
2. Birth certificate.
3. Marital status certificate proving that neither partner is married or registered with another partner. If one partner was previously married, the marriage certificate and the final divorce decree must be provided. In the case of widows/ widowers, the marriage certificate and death certificate of the deceased partner are required.
4. Form provided by the relevant administration, duly completed.
5. A document confirming cohabitation (this may be a joint declaration of cohabitation before a notary, stating how long the couple has lived together).
If they have a digital certificate, the documentation can be submitted online.
Registration in the Registry of Common-Law Partnerships of the Autonomous Community of Andalusia can be done at the Provincial Delegations of the Regional Ministry of Social Inclusion, Youth, Families, and Equality (from 9 am to 2 pm, Monday to Friday), as well as at the Official Registries of the Regional Government of Andalusia or at the City Hall corresponding to the habitual residence in Andalusia, where one of the partners is registered.
The dissolution of a common-law partnership can be done by mutual agreement or by the will of one of the parties, and it is much simpler than the divorce process. It is sufficient for one of the partners to submit a written declaration that they are no longer living together, using a form provided for this purpose.

FROM HUNTING LODGE TO LUXURIOUS HAVEN
THE REBIRTH OF VILLA SANTA KATARINA
Nestled in the prestigious gated community of El Madroñal, Villa Santa Katarina stands as a testament to the rich tapestry of Costa del Sol’s history. This elegant property, once a humble hunting lodge and chapel, has been transformed into a luxurious residence that seamlessly blends its storied past with modern opulence. Originally constructed in 1973 as part of the vast Parlade family estate, the property has witnessed the area’s evolution into one of Spain’s most coveted residential destinations, frequented by Spanish, British and Saudi royalty and their guests. This estate’s subsequent division gave birth to the exclusive communities of El Madroñal, Reserva Alcuzcuz, and La Zagaleta, each now synonymous with luxury living on the Costa del Sol.
In 2005, the former hunting lodge underwent a meticulous restoration and expansion, emerging as the stunning Villa Santa Katarina we see today. The renovation process was a delicate dance between preservation and innovation, incorporating historical elements such as handmade terracotta floor tiles from an Andalusian monastery, which lend an air of authenticity to the contemporary space.
Perhaps the most captivating chapter in the villa’s history unfolded during the landscaping of its gardens. Workers unearthed a longforgotten statue of a female Saint, believed to have once graced the original chapel or hermitage. This serendipitous discovery not only gave the villa its name but also provided a centerpiece for the impressive foyer, where the statue now stands guard, welcoming visitors and serving as a tangible link to the property’s past.
Today, Villa Santa Katarina offers an impressive 1,015 square meters of living space, featuring six bedrooms that blend comfort with elegance. The villa is set on a generous plot of approximately 3,238 square meters, providing ample space for lush gardens and outdoor living areas that benefit from the enviable climate of the Costa del Sol.
As one approaches Villa Santa Katarina, the cobbled driveway and courtyards evoke a sense of timeless elegance. The remains of the original chapel, still visible near the garage area, serve as a poignant reminder of the property’s origins and its journey through time.
In a region celebrated for its natural beauty and luxurious lifestyle, Villa Santa Katarina stands apart. It is not merely a home but a living museum, where each stone and tile tells a story of transformation, resilience, and enduring charm.
For those seeking to own a stunning piece of Costa del Sol history, this exceptional property is currently listed with Engel & Völkers Marbella at an asking price of € 6,650,000, offering a rare opportunity to become the next owner of this remarkable home and enjoy a unique modern lifestyle within a truly magnificent estate.

TIMELESS FASHION
STAYING ELEGANT AND TRUE TO YOUR STYLE THIS FESTIVE SEASON
BY MARIA VOLGAREVA
“Elegance is not standing out, but being remembered.”
Giorgio Armani
As Marbella’s festive season approaches, the glamorous city’s blend of vibrant nightlife, elegant gatherings, and sundrenched days calls for a wardrobe that exudes sophistication while staying true to your personal style. Known for its luxury lifestyle, Marbella offers the perfect backdrop for a festive wardrobe rooted in timeless elegance. However, navigating through glittering trends can be overwhelming, especially with the array of exclusive parties, beachside celebrations, and intimate soirées. Here’s how to stay effortlessly chic and fashion-forward while remaining authentic to your style in Marbella during this festive season.
PRIORITIZE CLASSIC SILHOUETTES
Marbella’s unique blend of opulence and relaxed Mediterranean vibes calls for a balance of elegance and comfort. In the cooler months, as the festive season approaches, the city’s mild climate still allows for lightweight fabrics, meaning your wardrobe can be sophisticated without feeling too heavy. Opt for classic pieces like a well-tailored linen blazer, silk wide-leg trousers, or a perfectly fitted dress.
STICK TO A SIGNATURE COLOR PALETTE
Instead of chasing seasonal hues, focus on a color palette
that complements your complexion and personal aesthetic. Deep jewel tones, like emerald green, sapphire blue, and rich burgundy, are often associated with the festive season, yet they never go out of style. Neutrals—such as black, white, and navy—are timeless and always appropriate for formal occasions. Marbella’s natural beauty, with its stunning blue waters, golden beaches, and lush greenery, offers endless inspiration for a refined color palette. Consider adding metallic accents or textures like velvet or silk to add a festive flair without feeling overdone. Your goal is to look polished, not trend-driven.
INCORPORATE SUBTLE FESTIVE ELEMENTS
Staying true to your style doesn’t mean ignoring the celebratory spirit. Integrate festive elements in subtle, sophisticated ways. A touch of shimmer in a pair of earrings, a velvet clutch, or a delicate metallic thread in your dress can signal that you’re embracing the holiday season without sacrificing your personal taste. Be wary of over-accessorizing or indulging in overly trendy pieces that could overshadow your overall look. Instead, a well-chosen statement accessory, such as a sleek gold or silver cuff or a pair of sophisticated earrings, can be enough to complete your ensemble with class.
INVEST IN QUALITY FABRICS
Given Marbella’s mild winter temperatures, even during the festive season, lightweight but luxurious fabrics are your best friend. Cashmere wraps, silk blouses, and finely woven wool trousers can all be worn comfortably, allowing you to move from a sunny afternoon on a beach terrace to a glamorous evening gala. When selecting fabrics, always prioritize quality—this not only ensures you stay cool and comfortable but also helps your wardrobe retain its timeless appeal.
ELEVATE YOUR FOOTWEAR GAME
Shoes can make or break an outfit, especially during festive celebrations. Opt for classic styles, such as pointed-toe pumps or sleek ankle boots in leather or suede, which can seamlessly transition from daytime gatherings to evening parties. For an extra touch of glamour, consider heels with subtle embellishments like crystal or metallic detailing, but avoid overly trendy designs that could date your look.
In Marbella, the festive season is a time of celebration, luxury, and joy. By focusing on timeless fashion—classic silhouettes, luxurious fabrics, and personal touches— you can create a festive wardrobe that reflects the city’s unique blend of elegance and Mediterranean ease. Staying true to your style, while embracing the season’s subtle festive elements, will ensure that you look effortlessly chic throughout Marbella’s most glamorous time of year.

MOKKA DESIGN
CAPTURING IBIZA: HIGH-ENERGY ARCHITECTURE AND EARTHY MATERIALS
REFLECTING SERENE NATURAL BEAUTY
Mokka Design, an award-winning London based Interior Design studio dedicated this summer to the completion of their latest project in Ibiza
Working in collaboration with Miralbo Urbana, one of the Balearic Islands’ most in-demand architecture and construction companies. The client’s brief was ultimately a representation of the island itself; to capture the essence of Ibiza’s hedonism as the ultimate party destination with textured, earthy materials that would resonate with the island’s authentic natural beauty and ruggedness.
The striking contemporary architecture, with angular lines, expansive glass and dramatic overhangs poses a dynamic and impressive visual impact. Whilst, the use of natural travertine contrasts beautifully, its textural warmth and inherent unpredictability counterpoint to the other materials used. This theme continues in the interior, where contemporary pieces with sharp lines and polished surfaces sit amongst the natural, the
reclaimed or the antique. Entry is through a dramatic oversized pivoting door into a double height space filled with light. Appearing to float almost effortlessly, the impressive structural staircase wraps itself around a central bonsai tree, a living piece of art which embodies a sense of tranquillity, harmonising nature and design. Suspended pendants hang above, each a unique piece of blown glass, evoking rain & casting a ripple of illumination across the space. On shiny black metal plinths, rustic earthenware pots meticulously sourced from across Europe sit on display, a contradiction of form and texture, of perfection and imperfection. Throughout luxurious finishes are paired with natural earthy textures that create warmth and a tactile quality. Layers of earth tones and muted colours reflect the island’s natural landscape.
The open-plan living areas are designed for socialising and large-scale gatherings, seamlessly transitioning to outdoor spaces through sliding doors. These lead to expansive dining and lounging areas and the impressive pool beyond – currently the largest private pool on the island. Every element is on a grand scale, emphasizing the space’s capacity for entertainment. Extraordinary statement pieces serve as conversation starters, such as the tree trunk coffee table or over-sized organic console table from Erik Kuster and his uniquely curated collection.
The rooftop offers additional space for entertaining, featuring a plunge pool and outdoor kitchen. From here panoramic views of Ibiza’s old town with its iconic castle can be enjoyed, along with serene turquoise hues of the ocean and yachts in the bay.
As night falls the visually impactful illumination of the spaces take shape, dramatizing the angles of the architecture. Coloured LEDS in the pool and a glowing onyx bar set a playful mood for parties, complemented by an impressive sound system.

PEDRO PEÑA & ILLUSION
GENERATION Z DRIVES A 25% INCREASE IN DEMAND FOR INNOVATION AND DESIGN IN LUXURY PROPERTIES ON THE COSTA DEL SOL
The Key to Distinction, an event organised by Pedro Peña and Illusion, highlights an increase in ROI of up to 35% for properties that invest in this synergy.
The luxury residential market has undergone significant evolution in the Golden Triangle (Marbella, Estepona, and Benahavís) in recent years. The demand for innovative technical installations and high-quality interior design projects has increased by 20% to 25% since 2019. This growth is primarily due to the generational shift among buyers, greater environmental awareness, and the integration of advanced technology into homes.
This was one of the key conclusions of The Key to Distinction, an event organised by Pedro Peña Interior Design and Illusion, which
highlighted the value of merging innovation and design in the high-end housing sector, positioning Marbella as the epicentre of cutting-edge interior design.
The event brought together over a hundred professionals from architecture and real estate development and also served to officially inaugurate the new showroom of Pedro Peña Interior Design—an eclectic space filled with signature pieces and works of art. The Maro Brothers, well-known luxury real estate influencers, guided the guests through the tour of the innovative facilities.

INTERIOR DESIGN
BOHO & EXOTIC STYLE
ROMINA PEREYRA
CEO OF SYBARTUM
BY RAFAEL BARRIO, DIRECTOR OF ELM
Tell us something about yourself
I am passionate about business, design, and the beauty that emerges from the most unexpected places. My career has been a constant adventure, traveling to exotic destinations to discover unique and authentic pieces for our store. As a mother of three, my life is full of energy and movement, which has always fueled my adventurous spirit. What inspires me the most is finding beauty in the imperfect and the natural and being able to share that vision with those who appreciate authenticity in every detail.
What is SYBARTUM and what do you offer your clients?
Sybartum is a family business with over 35 years of history, dedicated to blending art, design, and respect for nature. We specialize in importing handmade furniture and décor using natural materials from places like Indonesia, India, and Malaysia. Each piece we select has a story behind it, and our commitment to sustainability and artisanal quality is what defines our brand. We don’t just sell products, we offer pieces with soul, capable of transforming any space into a place filled with life and serenity.
What makes a house a home?
A house becomes a home when the space reflects the personality and emotions of those who live in it. It’s not just about the décor; it’s the story and energy that each object carries. For us, natural materials and handmade pieces bring a special energy, full of life, that creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
What is SYBARTUM’s distinctive feature?
Our focus on craftsmanship and sustainability is what sets us apart. We work directly with local artisans from around the world, carefully selecting natural and sustainably certified materials. Our
pieces are timeless, made to last, and celebrate the imperfect and the natural. We love getting to know the story behind each object, which adds emotional value and a special connection to every piece we offer. We strive to maintain authenticity and respect for the environment in everything we do.
What do you love most about your profession?
What I love most about my job is the opportunity to discover hidden treasures in different corners of the world. Traveling, connecting with different cultures, and learning from artisans brings me deep satisfaction. We don’t just sell furniture, we help create spaces where people can feel connected to nature and to themselves. Seeing how our pieces transform a home is one of the greatest rewards.
Tell us about a place where you feel at home
I feel at home wherever I’m surrounded by my family and nature. Today, that place is the Costa del Sol. We moved here a few years ago, and we quickly connected with its light, its landscapes, and especially its people. It’s a diverse and welcoming community that made us feel at home from day one..
What words best describe you?
Family, authenticity, creativity, and nature. These values guide both my personal and professional life and are the pillars on which we build our work at Sybartum.
A quote that always stays with you
“There’s a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in.” This phrase reminds me that real beauty lies in imperfection, both in objects and in people. It’s a constant reminder to celebrate flaws, as they bring character and tell the most valuable stories.
IVONNE GALVÁN CEDILLO
FEMONT GALVAN DIRECTOR
BY RAFAEL BARRIO, DIRECTOR OF ELM
Tell us something about yourself
I was born in Mexico City, I have always been a restless and curious person, this led me to study outside my country, discovering places that have served my personal development, it was in Paris where the love for the beautiful, the subtle, the elegant was awakened in me, I began studying photography in Rome, I moved to Milan where I studied Interior Architecture, to finish my studies in London with a master’s degree in Design Studies. I am a perfectionist and exigent with myself, committed, disciplined and constant. I love challenges, and this is why I look for each of my projects to be unique, I love the feeling of giving life to a new idea, where my creative and technical capacity faces new challenges every time.
How would you define the values that identify Femont Galvan Designers?
Femont Galvan Designers has forged relationships with the very best international brands and highly respected craftsmen who share the same values of quality, longevity and aesthetics. Each element of the journey to creating graceful enticing living spaces is considered and must adhere to our exacting standards. No process is too small. We guaranteed our personal involvement at every stage of the project, from the original concept throughout the manufacture, installation and the final dressing, right up until it becomes part of our client’s life.
What is luxury for you?
The freedom to be yourself. I think that today, more than ever, we find ourselves in a totally globalised world where even luxury brands tend to mass produce.
I believe that true luxury refers to craftsmanship, to everything that is made with noble materials, designed to last over time and created specially for you; unrepeatable and unique.
What challenges does renovating a home pose?
Above all, understanding who inhabit the space, thoroughly knowing the client’s desires and needs. From this everything else
is simpler, because although without a doubt the technical part of execution is the most complex and delicate; When we are able to connect with the client, the most important work is done.
What do you see as the trends for 2025?
I am not a person who particularly follows trends, since I actually prefer spaces with their own personality.
Who inspires you?
I have had the pleasure of meeting two people who have undoubtedly inspired me, as great professionals, but above all as great people. They have had a lot to do with the creation of Femont Galvan Designers.
Carlo Giorgetti, heir to one of the most refined furniture brands in Italy, his continuous search for excellence, his perseverance, his attention to the smallest details, rigorous like few others. Talking to him is being able to understand the meaning of creating with the intention that what we do survives the passage of time.
Franco Ceccotti, creator and founder of Ceccotti Collezioni, is the personification of the meaning of passion for what is done, dedication, the incessant search to create unique, timeless pieces, made with all the care, a dedicated person and a faithful believer in excellence. They have been and are people who, beyond creating brands, benchmarks in the market, give us part of their being in each of their creations.
An icon for you
It would be difficult to choose just one, as Mexican it is impossible not to mention Luis Barragan, his conception of space, light, shadow and color; his always unique vision.
Gio Ponti, a pillar of Italian design, Jean-Michel Frank, an elegant and innovative minimalism, Vincezo de Cotis, more than an architect, an artist, Jean Louis Deniot, for me the best interior designer in France today and of course Kelly Wearstler.
Your favorite quote THINK BIG.
ELENA CUBEROS
GENERAL DIRECTOR OF EXXACON
BY RAFAEL BARRIO, DIRECTOR OF ELM
Tell us something about yourself
I am originally from Seville although I feel I belong to Marbella where I live since almost 25 years ago when I joined Exxacon Smart Living, a real estate developer born in Marbella where I hold the position of General Director.
I have spent almost my entire professional career in the real estate sector, which has given me the opportunity to lead projects that go far beyond residential developments: at Exxacon we create communities in which people find a home. To achieve this goal, I am lucky to have a fantastic team, very professional and committed. As for my personal life, I am married and mother of three wonderful children. At certain times this has been a great challenge in terms of work-life balance, but it has also taught me a lot about the importance of creating spaces that really feel like home.
What are the pillars and the differentiating element of your company Exxacon?
Since our beginnings in 2000 we have evolved, adapting to the changing needs of clients, guaranteeing a differential offer in our numerous locations. This has allowed us to expand our activity nationally and have a balanced offer between first and second homes, which also positions us as a relevant developer for international clients. One of our fundamental pillars is sustainable construction, developing homes under our Smart Living philosophy to create efficient, aesthetically attractive and environmentally friendly spaces.
What is Smart Living?
We adopted the Smart Living philosophy in 2010, and since then, we have made it a priority in all our projects, integrating elements such as location, design, technology, sustainability, community, safety and equipment with the aim of offering a differential product with high added value. This means our projects combine functionality, design and energy efficiency in strategic locations that foster community connection and well-being. A great example of this is our Urban Litoral project,
the first residential development in Andalusia with Passivhaus certification, a global standard that allows the heating and cooling needs of homes to be reduced by up to 80%, improving energy efficiency and generating more savings.
How many projects do you have underway and where are they located?
So far, we have 42 developments that include more than 2,750 homes, with an investment that amounts to 754 million euros. We currently have 18 active developments located on the Costa del Sol / Málaga, Madrid, Seville, Valencia and Alicante, totalling more than 1,300 homes in different stages of development.
What is your current vision of the real estate sector on the Costa del Sol?
The real estate sector on the Costa del Sol is booming, consolidating its position as one of the most in-demand areas in Spain. This growth reflects a sustained interest in this region as an attractive destination both to reside and to invest, which is why it is necessary to continue working on projects that provide a real response to the demand for properties. This requires a commitment between all parties involved, both public and private, for the benefit of more sustainable and sustained growth.
Do you have any techniques, habits or routines that help you maintain a good balance between your personal and professional life?
Every morning I try to dedicate some time for myself. I like to start the day calmly, reflecting on my goals. I also try to set boundaries so that I can be fully present with my family. To do this, we enjoy dinners together and, if we can, we organize small getaways.
What is a quote that inspires you?
“The best way to live the future is to build it.” It is Exxacon’s corporate motto, and I also apply it in my personal life.
MARIE-NOËLLE ERIZE TISSEAU
DIRECTOR OF MN COMUNICACIÓN
BY RAFAEL BARRIO, DIRECTOR OF ELM
Tell us something about yourself
I see myself as a citizen of the world: I was born in Argentina, but my parents were French and I grew up in an international environment, studying in Lycée Franco-Argentin Jean Mermoz of Buenos Aires. It was there that I got used to interacting with people from all kinds of backgrounds and nationalities. I studied Public Relations with an early vocation to communicate, connect, relate and organise. Then I lived in France, Venezuela and finally Spain, travelling as much as I could, living several lives in one, and I landed in Marbella in 1999.
What do you like most about your profession?
I believe in the saying ‘Choose a job you love and you’ll never have to work a day in your life’. Although it’s true that you have to work, and A LOT, I’m very happy in what I do.
Among the things I’m passionate about, the most important is without a doubt COMMUNICATION, which is a fundamental aspect of our lives because it allows us to convey ideas, share emotions and make meaningful connections with the people around us. However, we often underestimate its importance and don’t give it the attention it deserves. It’s essential for a company to have a good strategy to increase visibility, and I love broadcasting good news!
What are your main services?
We have four main departments in the agency: public relations, communication with press office services (everything mediarelated), integral organisation of events (covering 360º) and marketing and design. I invite you to have a look at my website: www.mncomunicacion.com
As a communications company, what is the biggest challenge you face today?
Getting business people to understand the importance of communications and to invest in it. It’s not enough for a cousin or a friend to do it for you: it must be a professional who knows the rules of the game, who has the contacts and who knows how to manage the promotion of a product, a company or a service.
What do you think sets MN COMUNICACIÓN apart from its competitors?
I think there are several differentiating elements. Firstly, experience and knowledge of the market in Marbella. I’ve been in this city for 25 years, and I basically know who’s who and how it works.
Being able to speak to my clients (many of whom are foreigners) in English or French also facilitates understanding and comprehension. All our communication is bilingual (I usually have native English speakers on the team).
In terms of seriousness and professionalism, I always try to put myself in the client’s shoes and give more than they ask for. I believe in applying personal ethical values to my work. Of course I’ve made mistakes and learnt from them. I want my work to be an extension of my personal life, with all its lessons. You can’t give what you don’t have.
What made you choose this profession?
After being the PR and Communications Director at INCOSOL for several years, I found myself on my own due to very difficult personal circumstances, and I was looking for a job that would allow me to get by with my three children. At that time it was very difficult to find a salary that would cover our needs, so in 2010 I decided to start my own agency, having noticed a lack of good service in Marbella. I think it was the best decision of my life...
What advice would you give to other businesswomen?
Firstly, to study the market well before embarking on a business venture. And once they have a clear idea, they should take the plunge without too much fear. Nothing is guaranteed, but selfconfidence is fundamental. There will always be obstacles.
What is your motto?
‘If there’s no communication, there’s no sale.’ In a world as competitive as the one we live in today, you need to communicate and set yourself apart by highlighting your differentiators.

He was the the youngest of William and Emma Jane Hitchcock’s three children, and after attending school, Alfred began his career as a draughtsman, advertising designer and writer at the age of 15. His interest in photography led him to work in the London film industry, first as a title designer for silent films, and five years later as a director. In 1926, Hitchcock married his assistant, Alma Reville, and in 1928 they had their daughter, Patricia.
FILM CAREER
Hitchcock quickly became known as a director who specialised in thrillers with dark twists and unexpected endings. A commanding personality whose trademark was his dark humour and the cameos he planned for himself in all his films. Hitchcock soon began to make a name for himself and gain international fame. In 1939, he and his family moved to Hollywood, and over the next three decades he would cement his career by directing and producing his most successful films.
His worldwide fame was largely due to his television series ‘Alfred Hitchcock Presents’, which ran from 1955 to 1965, reaching millions of homes, and thanks in part to his instantly recognisable profile, bringing him fame that would last the rest of his life.
Known as the Master of Suspense, he is now recognised as the visionary filmmaker he was.
His creative legacy continues to captivate and inspire new generations of directors and actors, despite the passing of the years.
MYTHICAL MUSES AND FILMS
Hitchcock had a penchant for blondes. This was the archetype of all the actresses who would become his muses. From Kim Novak to Tippi Hedren, Eva Marie Saint, Janet Leigh, and in particular, Grace Kelly. When asked why the vast majority of his actresses were blondes, the director replied: “Blondes make the best victims. They’re like virgin snow that shows up the bloody footprints.”
One of the most iconic actresses of Hitchcock’s films was Grace Kelly, an actress with an innate elegance and a great talent for acting, who would eventually become his friend over the years. She starred in The Perfect Crime, To Catch a Thief and Rear Window, probably one of the filmmaker’s best-known films, and one of the great benchmarks of the thriller genre. Another of his muses was Tippi Hedren, a very intelligent woman. Until then she had worked exclusively as a fashion model, but the filmmaker gave her the opportunity of a lifetime by offering her the role in another of his most iconic films: The Birds. It is said that making the film was an ordeal for the actress because of the excessive control the director exercised over her. In fact, some of the scenes in the film were shot with real birds, causing Hedren to have anxiety attacks on the set. Perhaps as a result
of this realism, Hedren won the Golden Globe for Best New Actress, and later worked with Hitchcock again in Marnie.
OTHER FAVOURITE ACTRESSES
Ingrid Bergman was another of Hitchcock’s muses. The actress starred in Under Capricorn, and in Notorious with Cary Grant, making them one of the most attractive on-screen couples in Hollywood. Eva Marie Saint, for her part, appeared in just one Hitchcock film, North by Northwest, but her sensual performance made it one of the filmmaker’s most acclaimed films.
Kim Novak starred in Vertigo with James Stewart, adding a touch of coldness to the classic elegance the director was aiming for. And we must not forget Janet Leigh, who starred in one of the most famous films, Psycho, with one of the most legendary scenes in the history of cinema: the murder scene in the shower. Joan Fontaine, who starred in Rebecca, would go on to win an Oscar for Suspicion. And Julie Andrews stepped into the role of Hitchcock’s film muse in Torn Curtain.
In all, the British director made 53 feature films during his career. Hitchcock died in the USA in 1979. Years after his death, he is still remembered by the general public, as evidenced by the release of the film Hitchcock, starring Anthony Hopkins as the director, Helen Mirren as his wife, and Scarlett Johansson as Janet Leigh. The Master of Suspense is more alive than ever through his films.
