A FILM-WORTHY LIFE
UNA VIDA DE CINE
Richard Gere, Hollywood’s eternal heartthrob, was born into a modest family in Philadelphia, USA on the 31st of August 1949. The son of Homer, an insurance agent, and Doris, a housewife, Richard was brought up with the conviction that he would have to work hard to achieve his goals in life.

From an early age, Richard Gere showed a special stage presence. In the 1970s, he starred in a London production of the iconic musical Grease, playing the role of Danny Zuko. This experience not only confirmed his audience appeal, but also marked the beginning of his career.
His big breaks came in 1980 with American Gigolo and two years later with An Officer and a Gentleman, two films that would make women swoon the world over. But it was Pretty Woman (1990) opposite Julia Roberts that made Gere an international phenomenon. His character, Edward Lewis, is one of the most memorable in his career filmography.
In the 1990s, his private life was just as much a subject of media attention as his career. His marriage to supermodel Cindy Crawford made the cover of numerous magazines at the time but ended in divorce in 1995. Years later, he found love again with Carey Lowell, with whom he had his first child in 2000.

But it was Pretty Woman (1990) opposite Julia Roberts that made Gere an international phenomenon. His character, Edward Lewis, is one of the most memorable in his career filmography.”
Off-screen, the actor is also known for his humanitarian values. Gere has always declared himself a Buddhist and has been an active campaigner for human rights in Tibet, which earned him a ban from the Oscars in 1993 for publicly criticising the Chinese government.
The latest chapter of his life is written in a romantic key. In 2018, he married the Spanish publicist and political activist Alejandra Silva. Their love, which the actor describes as ‘being born again’, has brought them two children, and he has turned his attention to caring for the planet with actions such as supporting Xala, a residential area and tourist resort on Mexico’s Pacific coast. With a one-billiondollar investment in Xala, the “Sierra a Mar” project, led by Richard Gere, Stefanie Brendl and Xala’s partners, is all about getting in tune with the land and the sea in order to promote sustainability.
Richard Gere has made a name for himself not only in Hollywood, but throughout his life with his social initiatives, proving that charisma can transcend the screen. For many, the actor remains the eternal heartthrob who has lived a cinematic lifestyle, both on and off the screen.

With an investment of one billion dollars, his ‘Sierra a Mar’ programme is all about getting in tune with the land and the sea in order to promote sustainability.”

“Her latest project, the mega mansion EL UNICO, located in the prestigious Zagaleta Urbanization, has won the 2024 European awards in the categories of Best Residential Property and Best Architecture Single Residence in Spain.”
A graduate in Civil Engineering with a Master’s Degree in Project Management, this talented mother has over 11 years’ experience in the construction sector, from residential buildings and shopping centres in Canada, to mega-mansions in Marbella which are revolutionising the Costa del Sol property sector with her innovation and design, breaking all property parameters in the area.
Stephani Zambrano is the founder of the construction and development company Lavele Corporation. As a civil engineer, she is dedicated to building villas that break the parameters of design and innovation, due to the implementation of new advanced technologies that make the properties self-sustainable, and thanks to the design and manufacture of iconic pieces of furniture that are custommade for each villa, which has made her company Lavele stand out on a large scale in the real estate sector. Her latest project is a great example of this. The mega mansion EL UNICO, located in the prestigious Zagaleta Urbanization, has won the 2024 European awards in the categories of Best Residential Property and Best Architecture Single Residence in Spain.
Stephani designed and built this magnificent villa, the first and only curved design mega-mansion in the south of Spain, with 360 degree sea and mountain views and a 100 metre long water slide. Something that has never been seen before in the south of Spain.
This young woman not only carried out the entire design and construction process of El UNICO, but also meticulously designed and manufactured each of the spaces and pieces of furniture, which were customised with the company’s logo, making it an unprecedented masterpiece of curved and innovative design. As a civil engineer she brought new advanced technology to the Costa del Sol that to date has not been implemented in any residential property in Spain. These so-called tulip technologies produce six times more energy than a solar panel. The combination of pioneering construction techniques, bold design and advanced technology sets Stephani apart from the rest of Marbella’s developers.
What was your main goal when you moved to Marbella?
When I moved to Marbella, my main goal was to break the mould and the design parameters of the property market. That’s why, after building a few houses, I decided to take the plunge and build EL UNICO. It’s the result of my desire to create something unique and remarkable that stands out from the rest of the ‘white box’ house designs in Marbella.
The curved design, the edgy style, the groundbreaking construction method and advanced technology are the result of many years of experience in the construction industry and my passion for building. I grew up around consturction materials; my parents were architects and engineers, it’s in my blood, it’s my passion.
What makes your houses unique?
We bring a bold, unique approach to creative design - edgy, modern, with excellence in every detail.
Our distinctive flair for design, innovation and cutting-edge technology inspires us to use groundbreaking construction techniques and out-of-the-box design concepts. We believe that true luxury lies in originality. That’s why we create bespoke fixtures and highly customised details that are unique to each home. Our creations are designed to appeal to the refined tastes of the well-travelled, discerning buyer. With a keen eye for luxury and a desire for something truly unique, they’re looking for a unique living experience. I’m from Venezuela, and we’re all about passion, flair and edgy style.
What do you think is the most difficult thing you have personally faced as a female developer?
Always being the only woman in the field. Add to that moving to so many other countries, dealing with men and different mentalities, cultures and weather. One of the hardest moments was when I moved to Canada with no family or friends to work as a project manager for a company building a 14,000 m2 commercial building. I’d also never seen snow in my life. That was quite a challenge, as the temperature outside was usually around -10 degrees. Craziest time of my life!
What does being a powerful woman/entrepreneur mean to you? For many women, power means money. For me, it means being free and fearless. What makes a powerful woman is a combination of personal drive and ambition. The willingness to seize all the opportunities and take all the risks that life offers. I’m a go-getter kind of woman.
De la Fuente Fine Jewellery was born in Marbella in 1994 in the spirit of only selling to the best Jewelry Stores in Spain, among them to those located on the Costa del Sol, until in 2009 a decision was made to directly sell to the most prestigious private clientele on the five continents, especially to famous business people from Eastern Europe, Northern Europe and Arab Countries.
Pepe de la Fuente, from its Showroom, which can only be accessed by referral and by appointment, has been supplying the most amazing and sought-after Jewels and Precious Stones on planet earth for more than 25 years.
Thanks to its High Jewellery workshops, De la Fuente Fine Jewellery is able to manufacture any design that its customers may have in mind, and always at a wholesale price, and always with the best jewellery standards.
One of the specialties of De la Fuente Fine Jewellery is to find gemstones as an investment for its most demanding clients, who aim at diversifying their assets, in addition to gathering very significant amounts of money that fit inside the closed fist of one of their hands. Currently, the best-performing gemstones with a specific quality and origin (this is where the secret formula of the company lies: having gained an in-depth knowledge of the market and the different qualities, sizes and origins of the stones), are the Rubies, Sapphires, Emeralds, Colored Diamonds and Spinels
In the summer of 2021 they were selected by the Nobu Hotel as Trusted Jewellery Business to become part of the neuralgic center of high society that “La Plaza” in the hotel complex Puente Romano represents in Marbella.
When Pepe de la Fuente asked the question: What do your customers value most about your business? He replied without a second thought “absolute discretion and prices”.
At De la Fuente, we are actively searching to purchase suitable jewels and precious stones for our stock and collector clients.
The De la Fuente team is pleased to offer you an appraisal, provide advice for discreet sales and purchases, and assist you through the entire process. Confidentiality and anonymity strictly respected.
The essence of the sea, the scent of the waves and the caresses of the wind: Puerto Banús welcomes Dolce&Gabbana and its new three boutiques, characterized by a play of references to the colours of the Spanish maritime landscapes combined with the prints and decorations of the fashion house.
“The Dolce&Gabbana Women’s Spring-Summer 2025 Collection celebrates the essence of Italian Beauty, a perfect synthesis of sensuality, attitude, character, and allure.”
The Dolce&Gabbana Women’s Spring-Summer 2025 Collection celebrates the essence of Italian Beauty, a perfect synthesis of sensuality, attitude, character, and allure.
This Collection pays homage to an ironic and powerful female figure, immortalized by cinema through the decades, capable of asserting her personality while staying true to herself. A woman who plays with her identity, transforming blonde into a signature trait.
The garments precisely outline the body, with lines that enhance feminine curves: anatomically tailored jackets and corset details showcase a strong and confident femininity.
Duchesse, crepe, tulle, chiffon, lace, and eco-fur embrace the body. Black, nude, red, and white are the colors. Flowers return in prints inspired by the archives.
Cone bras, strings, laces, and hooks symbolize Italian seduction. The accessories are inspired by the unforgettable style of pin-ups and iconic divas of the past. Oversized cross earrings, Sicily and Marlene bags, and beauty cases complete the looks.
The tailored cut of jackets, amphora trousers, linen shirts, stripes, polo shirts, and sweaters, along with shoes and overcoats crafted from raffia and leather by skilled artisans, embody the essence of pure Italian craftsmanship. This aesthetic remains a hallmark of sophisticated summer style. As a tribute to Italy and its rich heritage, the summer 2025 collection is meticulously handcrafted by talented artisans and proudly features the “Handmade” label. The aim is to convey not only the Italian character of the clothing but also to present Italy through the lens of foreign perspectives. The aesthetics of the 1950s—Italy’s golden era—take center stage, brought to life through references to the iconic cinematography of renowned Italian actor Marcello Mastroianni
“Developed on two levels, the first boutique, dedicated to men and women, hosts the female universe on the ground floor and the male universe on the first floor together with the Bar Martini on the terrace.”
Developed on two levels, the first boutique, dedicated to men and women, hosts the female universe on the ground floor and the male universe on the first floor together with the Bar Martini on the terrace. A tribute to Catalan modernist architecture and culture: trencadís, an ornamental technique characteristic of the region, becomes the protagonist on the floors of the entire boutique and of the terrace. Fragments of glass in shades of blue, green water, silver and amber illuminate the white background of the floors and some walls, becoming the characterizing element of the spaces. Blue ceramic walls, dry stone, natural rough glass and Sicilian cannizzo interrupt the fluidity conferred by the trencadís and give a naturalistic and rustic touch to the elegance and liveliness of the new spaces. The boutique houses the Ready to Wear, Accessories, Fine Jewellery and Watches Collections for Men and Women. In the second boutique dedicated to men and women, colourful graffiti, writings and decorations adorn the walls, illuminating the maritime colours of the floors and creating a contrast between the liveliness of the urban style and the authenticity of nature. The linear-shaped furniture is completed by details in champagne-coloured polished brass, visually contrasted by the furnishings in saffron yellow velvet. The boutique houses the Ready to Wear and Accessories Collections for Men and Women.A trip to the Tropics: the third boutique, dedicated to children, is characterized by overlapping tropical prints with white and orange vertical lines, which give movement and make the space bright. The vegetation and jungle animals such as monkeys, leopards, parrots and flamingos accompany customers to discover the two floors of the boutique, characterized by furnishing accessories in green velvet that create a stylistic contrast with the light coconut floors. The boutiques houses the Children’s Ready to Wear and Accessories Collections.
THE LUXURY DENTAL EXPERIENCE ARRIVES IN MARBELLA
Thanks to the internationally renowned dentist Dr. Carlos Saiz and his spa-like clinics, patients on the Costa del Sol can now enjoy a luxury escape when visiting the dentist. His clinics in Barcelona and Madrid are at the forefront of dental technology and quality care, setting new standards in the industry and attracting celebrity clients from around the world in search of the perfect smile.
In 2024, Dr. Saiz opened his newest clinic on Marbella’s Golden Mile, offering an unparalleled environment for cutting-edge dental care, including the revolutionary Micro Dental Veneers. The exclusive Marbella Club was the ideal location for the new clinic, and the interior design by the renowned French firm Conceptium is a study in minimalist luxury.
Dr. Saiz’s commitment to innovative treatments, coupled with his passion and expertise, has been the driving force behind his success in the field of cosmetic dentistry. His journey began over 20 years ago in Barcelona, where he opened his first clinic, initially offering traditional dental services. However, he soon discovered his passion for cosmetic dentistry and became a pioneer in the field in Spain and Europe. His breakthrough came with the introduction of non-invasive ceramic veneers, an innovative treatment that does not require the surface of the tooth to be shaved. This revolutionary new technique attracted widespread media

attention and transformed the industry. The success of this treatment prompted the opening of a second clinic on Barcelona’s exclusive Paseo de Gracia and a third in Madrid, catering to celebrity clients from a variety of backgrounds.
Dr. Saiz has gained the reputation of being the ‘dentist to the stars’ over the course of his career, with a client list that includes numerous high-profile Spanish celebrities who have placed their trust in his expertise, such as Sergio Ramos, Pilar Rubio and Jordi Alba. In response to growing customer demand, Dr. Saiz is now offering his advanced treatments and exclusive veneers in Marbella.
“The clinics are designed to create a relaxing and indulgent atmosphere, reminiscent of high-end spas or five-star hotels”
Carlos Saiz Smile clinics are equipped with the latest technology to offer a unique dental experience that sets them apart from other practices. The focus on comfort and aesthetics ensures that every visit is as pleasant as possible, from the moment patients step inside. With over two decades of experience, Dr. Saiz has created a brand that combines state-of-the-art dental care with luxurious amenities. His clinics are designed to create a relaxing and indulgent atmosphere, reminiscent of high-end spas or five-star hotels and offering a holistic experience where every detail matters.
His signature treatment, Micro Dental Veneers, has established Dr. Saiz as one of the world’s leading experts in smile design. It has become one of the most in-demand aesthetic treatments to whiten and even out teeth, as it preserves the natural tooth while providing a flawless smile that lasts a lifetime. Ultra-thin ceramic laminates are bonded to the surface of the teeth, transforming smiles in just three appointments over the course of two weeks –and most importantly, without any drilling, anaesthesia or discomfort.
Another key benefit is that patients can continue with their daily activities throughout the entire process. They will not suffer dental sensitivity, or be required to wear temporary teeth, and there will be no visible signs that they are undergoing a smile design process. The advantages are many and the disadvantages are non-existent, which is why this ground-breaking procedure has become the popular choice for many patients, including celebrities looking for the ultimate smile makeover. While ceramic veneers are his most popular treatment, Dr. Saiz’s clinics also offer a wide range of aesthetic dental procedures, such as premium teeth whitening and Invisalign, and cover all standard dental specialities to ensure that patients leave with a complete sense of satisfaction.

Sotogrande, in the municipality of San Roque in Cadiz, is one of the most exclusive residential areas in Europe. The home and summer resort of the Spanish and international high society, where time seems to stand still among golf courses, marinas, polo pitches, incredible hotels and an atmosphere that exudes luxury, discretion and glamour, inviting you to live every moment to the fullest.
To understand how Sotogrande became what it is today, it is necessary to go back to its origins. It was the audacity of Joseph Rafael McMicking e Ynchausti and his wife Mercedes Zóbel de Ayala y Roxas, the Filipino couple who founded the development in 1964, that made this coastal paradise in Cadiz a reality. Their legacy not only transformed the landscape of San Roque, but also set a milestone in luxury architecture in the Mediterranean.
Born in Manila and educated at Stanford University, Joseph McMicking had a multicultural background that combined American, Filipino and Spanish roots. He worked as an intelligence officer for General Douglas MacArthur during World War II, and after the liberation in 1945, he returned to the Philippines to resume his business career in Manila, becoming managing partner and visionary of the Ayala Corp. group of companies.
Looking for a place to realise their dream of creating a luxury resort, McMicking and his cousin Alfredo Melian Zóbel chose the Paniagua estate in San Roque, an enclave with one kilometre of coastline and excellent communications, to which the estates of Los Canos, Valderrama and El Conchudo would later be added.
It was there that Sotogrande was born and gained fame with the construction of its first golf course, designed by the renowned architect Robert Trent Jones. It was soon to be joined by the La Playa Polo Club and the iconic Sotogrande Tennis Hotel, as well as other leisure and entertainment areas such as Trocadero, The Beach (La Reserva Club), the Marina and Puerto Deportivo, framed by luxury yachts. All of Sotogrande is united by the common denominator of luxury living, but there is one area that stands out for its combination of tradition and history. It is the neighbourhood of Kings and Queens, where the first villas were built. Located in Sotogrande Costa, next to the beach and the Real Club de Golf Sotogrande, Kings and Queens has been the hub of the complex since its inception. There is nothing like strolling through the streets named after kings and queens, heading towards the marina, sailing school or tennis and paddle tennis clubs that make up this unique residential complex in Spain.
Over time, the complex has become a magnet for the national and international jet-set, drawn to luxury with a Mediterranean breeze. Sotogrande is more than just a residential complex. It has become a symbol of glamour, attracting high society from all over the world.
“Sotogrande is more than just a residential complex. It has become a symbol of glamour, attracting high society from all over the world. ”
The former Cortijo de Santa María de la Higuera has been transformed into the SO/ Sotogrande Spa And Golf Resort Hotel, where contemporary architecture blends with fashion and art, in perfect harmony with its surroundings. The property simulates a typical Andalusian village, full of cobbled streets, pristine whitewashed houses, lattices and ceramic arches. One of Sotogrande’s strong points is its strategic location, just 30 minutes from Marbella, Puerto Banús, Gibraltar and Tarifa’s paradisiacal beaches, making it the nerve centre of Spanish high society, the aristocracy and the business world. Luis Alfonso de Borbón and his wife, Margarita Vargas; Inés Sastre, Carmen Lomana, Rafa Medina, Jaime de Marichalar, Cayetano Martínez de Irujo, Javier Conde and Estrella Morente meet up here. Other regulars include Prince Harry of England, Beatriz de Orleans, Ana Rosa Quintana, Hubertus de Hohenlohe, Tamara Falcó and Íñigo Onieva.
The fact that Marbella has become increasingly overcrowded in recent times has meant that many celebrities have opted for Sotogrande in an attempt to stay out of the spotlight. This residential complex exudes a quiet luxury and innate elegance for those who wish to enjoy the surroundings and all the possibilities it offers with the utmost discretion, especially in the summer. In this sense, some of the most influential families, such as the Botíns, the Aznar Agags, the Entrecanales
and the Alcocers, have chosen this exclusive and privileged area, where the sports facilities are one of its great assets. Here you can play golf in the morning at the Valderrama Golf Course, polo in the afternoon at the Santa María Polo Club, or go sailing at sunset and return to the Real Club Marítimo in time for dinner.
Although Sotogrande has been a high-end residential and holiday hotspot for several decades, its legacy is more alive than ever with projects such as La Reserva Club Sotogrande, a long-established community with a magnificent country club, unrivalled golf and leisure facilities and elegant residences. All in a stunning setting with views of the Mediterranean and Africa as a backdrop.
Messi’s new hotel, MIM Sotogrande Club Marítimo, is also the centre of attention. The ambitious renovation of its facilities will make it a benchmark of luxury and excellence in Sotogrande’s emblematic Puerto Deportivo.
The luxury residential complex that Joseph McMicking once dreamed of has become much bigger than he could ever have imagined. Sotogrande is one of the most exclusive and prestigious resorts in Spain. A paradise in a dream setting. Somewhere quite unique.

“Robert Trent Jones is considered the greatest golf designer in history, as evidenced by his more than 500 projects around the world, including the Real Club de Golf Sotogrande.
Robert Trent Jones was born in 1906 in Ince, England, but his family emigrated to Rochester, New York when he was very young. His love of golf began at an early age and he even turned professional, but illness prevented him from continuing his competitive career.
He worked as a draughtsman in a railroad company and soon discovered his passion for golf course design, becoming the first person to be trained specifically in this field at Cornell University, where he designed his own course of study to prepare for his chosen career.
Throughout his career, Robert Trent Jones designed more than 500 golf courses in 35 countries around the world, more than 30 of which have hosted major international tournaments. The Real Club de Golf Sotogrande, opened in 1964, was his first in Europe and a turning point in his career.
The Sotogrande course is considered one of his masterpieces because it embodies his entire design philosophy, which was to create courses that were perfectly integrated into the natural environment,
challenging the best players but accessible to everyone. It is therefore a course that is entertaining for players of all levels, who can enjoy an excellent day’s golf surrounded by the natural beauty of an estate built just 150 metres from the Mediterranean Sea.
Robert Trent Jones himself named the RCG Sotogrande as one of his five favourite courses in the world. The course, a par 72 of 6,492 metres, is surrounded by cork oaks, pines and palm trees that give it personality and beauty. A unique course which, along with others on the Costa del Sol, such as Las Brisas, is located in what would become known as the Golf Valley, to the north of Puerto Banús, and which would later joined by legendary courses such as Los Lagos de Mijas Golf and Los Naranjos.
Robert Trent Jones continued to design golf courses until his death in 2000 at the age of 93. Over a period of almost 30 years, he designed nine courses on the Costa del Sol, totalling 157 holes. Thousands of people, from the world’s top professionals to mere amateurs, continue to benefit from his unsurpassed talent.

“LA Almazara is transformed into a unique, immersive experience, complete with an olive press, museum and restaurant, to celebrate the magic of olive oil.”
THE FIRST SIGNATURE OIL MILL IN THE WORLD, DESIGNED BY PHILIPPE STARCK, OPENS ITS DOORS IN RONDA
LA PRIMERA ALMAZARA DE AUTOR DEL MUNDO, DISEÑADA POR PHILIPPE STARCK, ABRE SUS PUERTAS EN RONDA
Located in the Serranía de Ronda mountains in Malaga Province, LA Almazara, designed by Philippe Starck, is an avant-garde project, an inhabitable work of art where every detail has been conceived to be functional yet stunning, a space that fuses the tradition of olive oil production with cutting-edge architecture. The long-term dream of Pedro Gómez de Baeza, made real by the French designer internationally renowned for his visionary creativity, LA Almazara is set to become a global touchstone. It celebrates the art and tradition of olive oil, reinvents olive oil tourism and is the world’s first signature oil mill.
For Philippe Starck, “LA Almazara is an exceptional, incredible, miraculous place where visitors can enjoy a radical yet moving experience which challenges and transforms. It’s a succession of mysteries in which respect for olive oil is crystallised and blended with emotion.”
Located in outstanding natural surroundings, just 2.5 km from Ronda, LA Almazara is designed to offer a unique and immersive experience which celebrates the magic and poetry of extra virgen olive oil, complete with a working oil press, museum, restaurant and dedicated area for tastings and events. As Philippe Starck explains, “LA Almazara isn’t architecture or a cultural venue. It’s an object that has fallen from space and has simply taken ‘respect’ as its shape and name. Beyond the object in itself, LA Almazara has a function, which is to protect one of the things that provides for us as a species in our civilisation. There’s water, there’s salt and there’s oil. These elements are sacred. They have always been respected and probably always will. LA Almazara pays tribute to this respect for olive oil passed down from all the civilisations that preceded us.”
Philippe Starck has opted for a minimal, timeless design, void of superfluous details or dressings, in which the pure essentials are developed with rigour and clarity. A monolithic red cube with a huge bull’s horn made of steel and a giant concrete eye which gives out black smoke. The watchful eye of Andalusia’s great surrealists, the smoke as a thought or gaze.
There are surprises and clear tributes inside too. A huge half-olive is encrusted in a corten steel wall. A metal tube penetrates the building yet never leaves it. Flowing water. An enormous figure with neither a head nor an identity, but
Designed by Philippe Starck, internationally renowned for his visionary creativity, LA Almazara reflects both passion and respect for Andalusia’s traditions, culture and natural environment.

The emblematic villa of Antonio El Bailarín, El Martinete, now available for private rentals, events and celebrations, has become an exceptional setting for the filming of Culpables, the trilogy by Spanish-Argentine author Mercedes Ron. “The experience has been very enriching,” says the property’s representative, Ute Alvarez, a German-born Costa del Sol lawyer specialising in tax, corporate and property law. With the launch of the second episode of the series, Culpa Tuya, “The phone has been ringing off the hook and we haven’t stopped getting calls from people wanting to know how they can rent the house for a film shoot or event.”

Mercato della Fontanella opened its doors just before Christmas with a party attended by a large group of guests.
Puerto Banús and Marbella City Council have highlighted the ‘effort, perseverance and spirit of sacrifice’ of the athletes who took part in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games but did not manage to reach the podium and win a medal, in an emotional tribute held at Marbella’s Club de Mar. Dock, swimmers Jessica Vall and María de Valdés, canoeist Antía Jácome and paralympic powerlifter Loida Zabala, among others. These young people are ‘an example of the perseverance and courage with which they have faced the enormous challenge of the Games’, said the Councillor. For lovers of good food, Benahavís combines the culinary qualities of a mountain village with those of a coastal town, with numerous restaurants and bars whose menus include typical mountain products such as pork meats, and game such as rabbit and venison, as well as traditional fish and shellfish dishes. There is also a variety of international cuisines to choose from, as well as pleasant tapas in the bars and wineries that abound in the streets and squares of one of the most typical white villages in the mountains of Málaga. This passion for gastronomy and good food is also reflected in its prestigious Hotel and Catering School.
Messina Restaurante, run by Argentinian couple Mauricio Giovanini and Pia Ninci, celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2023. With Mauricio in the kitchen and Pia in the dining room, they have succeeded in establishing themselves and maintaining the coveted Michelin star. And in order to give this gastronomic space a new lease of life, in 2024 they embarked on an ambitious refurbishment of their establishment at number 12, Avenida Severo Ochoa in Marbella. The large kitchen that is open to the dining room allows guests to watch the chef in action, and ‘The Chef’s Table’, a bar with seating for four diners offers a close-up view of the menu being prepared. Upstairs is a multi-purpose space, ‘InsIDe Messina’, which houses the offices, the creative area, and a space for clients with two tables for more than ten people and a lounge area. Messina continues to be an intimate, discreet space with an understated elegance, where haute cuisine is still the protagonist.

The new Mosh opened its doors on the 18th of October with a clear desire to lead the sector and a menu that focuses on Japanese cuisine, where quality products and flavours that explode both in the mouth and in the mind create a very special sensory experience: Nikkei Sirloin, Josper Salmon with Tamarind Sauce, Wagyu Tom Yum Cannelloni or a wide variety of sushi, sashimi, nigiri or uramaki rolls. What was the first restaurant of the Grupo Mosh remains committed to the dinner-and-show model and intends to retain the same playful, daring essence that combines partying and fun with haute cuisine by executive chef Franco Franceschini. In terms of aesthetics, two architects, Chema Sobrado and Álvaro Estúñiga, have renovated the space of over 400 square metres, opting for top-quality materials to give Mosh a new look.
Under the slogan “Eating healthy is fun” and always thinking of the little ones, the Chefs for Children charity gala is already lighting the stoves to celebrate its seventh edition on the Costa del Sol. The most prestigious chefs from Malaga and the province will be in charge of the stoves, and the most prestigious chefs from the national scene will be among the guests, dressed in their finest for the evening, but during the day they will don jackets, hats and aprons to prepare simple cold dishes with 150 children.

INGREDIENTS : Boletus mushrooms and white truffle cream
Carnaroli rice: 80 g • Mushroom juice: 200 ml in tota • Dried porcini: 30g
• Tartufato: 40 g • Parmesan: 25 g
RECIPE DESCRIPTION:
We start by gently sautéing the porcini mushrooms, which have been soaked beforehand, preserving their exquisite juice to enhance their flavour. We add a pinch of salt and the tartufato, soaking up the essence of each ingredient. When the mushroom juice begins to boil, add the Carnaroli rice, which slowly absorbs these rich flavours. Once cooked, finish the dish with a sprinkling of Parmesan, which creates a smooth, creamy, texture that enhances the refinement of the white truffle. A risotto that blends aromas and flavours to create a unique experience in every bite.
INGREDIENTS :
Boletus mushrooms and white truffle cream
INGREDIENTS : • Savoiardi biscuits: 200 g • Mascarpone cheese: 250 g
Eggs: 3 large (separate the yolks and the whites) • Sugar: 80 g • Espresso coffee (cooled): 250 ml • Borghetti Liqueur (optional): 2 tbsp • Cocoa powder: for dusting.
PREPARE THE COFFEE MIXTURE:
Brew 250 ml of espresso and let it cool to room temperature. (Optional) Stir in 2 tbsp of Marsala wine or any liqueur of your choice.
MAKE THE MASCARPONE CREAM:
In a bowl, whisk 3 egg yolks with 80 g of sugar until pale and creamy. Add the 250 g of mascarpone to the yolk mixture and mix gently until smooth. In a separate bowl, whisk the 3 egg whites to stiff peaks.
Gently fold the whipped egg whites into the mascarpone mixture, being careful not to deflate it.
ASSEMBLE THE TIRAMISU:
Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the cooled espresso mixture. (Do not soak; just a quick dip to avoid sogginess.) Arrange a layer of soaked ladyfingers at the bottom of your serving dish or individual glasses. Spread half of the mascarpone cream evenly over the ladyfingers. Add another layer of soaked ladyfingers on top, followed by the remaining mascarpone cream.
CHILL AND SERVE:
Cover the tiramisu and refrigerate for at least 4 hours (preferably overnight) to allow the flavours to meld. Just before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder using a fine sieve.
INGREDIENTS:
• Tanqueray Nº Ten London Dry Gin
• Organic strawberries • Vermouth blend: Carpano Antica Formula / Punt e Mes
• Campari • Garnish: organic strawberry
PREPARATION:
We select the finest organic strawberries to infuse with Tanqueray Nº Ten London Dry Gin. We put all the ingredients in a vacuum bag and leave for 24 hours. Then we filter, and the strawberry gin is ready!
The next step is to make a vermouth blend: we mix Carpano Antica Formula with Punt e Mes to get the best flavour. All we have to do is mix all the ingredients in a mixing glass with a small amount of Campari, and then pour into a glass with clear ice stamped with the Planta Bistrot logo.
Candela Marbella is already considered one of the best restaurants in Marbella’s old town. “What happens at Candela never stays at Candela”, because our guests talk about us every day in their excellent reviews.
The secret? Quality as the cornerstone, our magnificent menu and our unbeatable wine list – both Spanish and international – accompanied by exceptional personalised service and an unbeatable setting.
In the kitchen only the best local seasonal products are used, transformed with creativity and passion by chefs Andi Zillner and Mathias Theodosis. Tuna from the almadraba traps of Barbate and Tarifa, Iberian ham from Huelva, cheese from Ronda, fantastic oil from Córdoba and the best quality meats from Arola, enhanced with Candela’s own personal touch. These ingredients, combined with our expert cooking methods, create magic at every table in Candela. From classic Andalusian dishes, such as gazpacho or Pil Pil prawns, to traditional international dishes, like risotto with fresh asparagus and green truffle; a blend of classic Italian with German influences. Vegetarian bami goreng, a typical Indonesian dish; aubergine lasagne with tomato sauce; Italian gnocchi and rocket or a Hungarian goulash with tofu. We also highlight our vegetarian and vegan options with
a unique twist, always reflecting a lifelong love and deep admiration for gastronomy.
Candela Marbella was born to fulfil Michael Bormann’s dream. He first came to Marbella twelve years ago, and was instantly captivated by the charm of this seaside resort. Now, when he visits, it is to enjoy his own restaurant. He always wanted to have a traditional venue, and with Candela he has achieved it. A restaurant whose main objective is to offer the product without any superfluous frills, going against the tide in the midst of the ‘baroque’ or ‘experimental’ trends have become the norm in the restaurant industry in recent times.

Dani, thank you for joining us! Tell us how Dani’s Catering Marbella began.
Thank you for having me! Dani’s Catering Marbella started five years ago with a big dream and an empty kitchen. I moved to Marbella after working in London, Germany, and Italy, bringing with me a wealth of hospitality experience and a burning desire to create something special. We literally started from zero—no clients, no network , no capital —just an unwavering determination to prove that dreams can come true. It was a lot of hard work, long hours, and dedication to our clients, but we’ve built something we’re incredibly proud of.
You mentioned hard work and entrepreneurship. What’s your message for aspiring business owners, especially women?
Marbella is such a unique place—it’s beautiful, full of opportunity, and a fantastic community to be part of. My message to aspiring business owners, especially women, is this: if you have a dream, go for it. Be prepared to work hard, stay consistent, and always deliver on your promises. In this industry, going the extra mile for your clients is key.
As a woman entrepreneur, I’ve faced challenges, but they’ve made me stronger. I want to inspire others to believe in themselves and know that with passion, persistence, and a supportive team, you can create something extraordinary anywhere in the world.
Dani’s Catering Marbella has grown significantly. What sets your company apart?
We pride ourselves on being approachable, flexible, and client-focused. Our team is made up of talented professionals who genuinely care about creating exceptional experiences. Whether it’s a small private dinner or a grand wedding, we bring the same level of attention to detail and service. We are known for our innovative menus, beautiful food presentations, and, most importantly, our ability to truly listen to our clients’ needs. We don’t just meet expectations; we exceed them. That’s why we’re the go-to caterer on the Costa del Sol.
What’s next for Dani’s Catering Marbella? What can clients expect in 2025?
2025 is shaping up to be an exciting year! We’re thrilled to announce the opening of our new industrial kitchen in Nueva Andalucía. This new space will allow us to cater to even larger events while maintaining the high standards we’re known for. We’re expanding our offerings to include weddings, corporate functions, takeaway deliveries, and both small and large-scale events.
In addition, we’re focusing on recruiting the best talent in the industry to elevate our quality and service even further. We’re also planning for the future—our dream is to franchise Dani’s Catering worldwide, with locations in Dubai, London, Miami, and all across Spain. This is just the beginning of an incredible journey!
Finally, what would you like people to know about Dani’s Catering Marbella?
At Dani’s Catering Marbella, we’re more than just a catering company. We’re a team of passionate individuals who genuinely love what we do. Our mission is to make every event special, memorable, and stress-free for our clients. We are approachable, friendly, and dedicated to providing the best customer service on the Costa del Sol.
For anyone with a dream, let our story be proof that with hard work and a never-give-up attitude, anything is possible. We look forward to welcoming you to our new space in 2025 and continuing to make magic happen at events across Marbella and beyond.

Did you know heart disease is one of the world’s leading causes of death?
The good news is that early diagnosis can make all the difference, transforming possible risks into life-saving opportunities. That’s where Helicopteros Sanitarios excels. This innovative hospital, known for its cutting-edge care, provides a variety of modern Heart Disease Diagnosis Tests to provide you a clear and detailed image of your heart’s condition. This article will discuss the various tests used to diagnose heart disease, as well as their roles, findings, and why they are so important for early identification and effective therapy.
What is Heart Disease?
The term “heart disease” refers to a wide range of disorders that impair the heart’s capacity to beat normally. It treats issues such as heart failure, arrhythmias, coronary artery disease, and valve difficulties. A variety of variables can contribute to heart disease, including age, genetics, and lifestyle. Diagnostic testing is essential since early detection is the key to avoiding additional difficulties.
Why Heart Disease Diagnosis is Critical
Early identification of heart disease can help prevent more serious complications, such as strokes or heart attacks. Tests can detect cardiac muscle weakness, blockages, and irregular heart rhythms. These
examinations provide a comprehensive picture of your heart’s condition, allowing medical professionals to identify the best course of action for you. Helicopteros Sanitarios’ cutting-edge diagnostics are designed to effectively and precisely assess your heart health. The most common tests used to diagnose cardiac disease will be reviewed below, as well as how they can help you and your doctor make more educated decisions.
Medical professionals use a variety of tests to diagnose cardiovascular disease. Each of these tests has a separate purpose and provides specific information about the health of your heart.
One of the most fundamental diagnostics for identifying cardiac illness is an ECG. It analyses your heart’s electrical activity and assists in determining:
• Abnormal heart rhythms (arrhythmias)
• Damage from a heart attack
• Enlargement of the heart due to high blood pressure
• Poor blood flow to the heart
The ECG is a painless test that records the electrical impulses your heart produces by applying tiny electrodes to your arms, legs, and chest.
2. Echocardiogram
With an echocardiogram, doctors may see the anatomy and function of your heart’s muscles and valves by using sound waves to create images of your heart. It is particularly useful for diagnosing:
• Heart valve problems
• Heart muscle damage
• Abnormalities in the size or shape of the heart
• Congenital heart defects
This test is non-invasive and is similar to an ultrasound, making it safe and painless.
A stress test tracks your heart rate as you exercise, typically on a stationary bike or treadmill. The objective is to observe how your heart functions under pressure, which can disclose:
• Problems with the heart’s blood flow
• The probability of coronary heart disease
• How well your heart responds to physical activity
Stress tests come in two varieties: one that requires physical exercise, and another that, in the event that you are unable to exercise, simulates the effects of exercise with medicine.
4. Cardiac Catheterization (Angiography)
A more intrusive operation is cardiac catheterisation, sometimes referred to as coronary angiography. To see blood flow, a contrast dye is injected into a catheter, a tiny tube that is placed into an artery and guided to the heart. This examination aids physicians in determining:
• The degree of coronary artery obstructions
• Regardless of whether you require bypass surgery or stents It is frequently employed when less invasive tests are ambiguous and is quite effective in identifying coronary artery disease.
Comprehensive pictures of your heart and surrounding blood vessels can be obtained using CT (Computerised Tomography) and MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) studies. These tests are particularly helpful in identifying:
• Birth defects of the heart
• Tumours of the heart
• Blood vessel obstructions or anomalies
Despite being non-invasive, both procedures provide incredibly comprehensive images of your heart, which can assist identify less evident cardiac problems.
6. Blood Tests
Heart disease signs are frequently found through blood tests. They can detect:
• Cholesterol levels (linked to atherosclerosis)
• Markers of inflammation (such as C-reactive protein)
• Enzymes released during a heart attack (such as troponin)
In order to provide a more complete picture of heart health, blood tests are frequently performed in conjunction with other procedures as a standard component of the diagnosis of heart disease.
What to Expect During Heart Disease Diagnosis at Helicopteros Sanitarios Hospital:
1. Initial meeting: During your first meeting, their doctor will enquire about your lifestyle choices, family history of heart disease, and any symptoms you are experiencing.
2. Doctor’s examination: A full physical examination will include monitoring your blood pressure, heart rate, and indications of heart illness, such as leg oedema or irregular heartbeats.
3. Diagnostic testing: Based on your symptoms and medical history, their doctor will recommend the most appropriate testing, which may include ECGs or more sophisticated imaging modalities such as MRIs or CT scans.
4. Analysis and Treatment Plan: After receiving the test results, their doctor will review them and discuss the findings with you. If you are diagnosed with heart disease, they will create a treatment plan just for you.

BY SANTIAGO DE LA CRUZ
Last December, the General Council of the Judiciary unanimously approved the report on the draft Criminal Procedure Act, which will assign prosecutors the responsibility for criminal investigations. Among its recommendations to strengthen the independence of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, it highlights an essential principle emphasized by the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR): “Both the courts and the investigating authorities must remain free from any political pressure” because “it is in the general interest to maintain public confidence in the independence and political neutrality of investigating bodies.”
Rather than delve into this pressing and contentious issue currently under the ECtHR’s scrutiny, this article aims solely to provide an objective, datadriven summary of the state of our justice system.
For 16 years, the Aranzadi LA LEY Foundation has been publishing a statistical analysis of the Spanish judicial system, examining its activity, shortcomings, challenges, progress, and achievements in what it calls the Report of the Observatory of Judicial Activity.
The Observatory’s findings are based on ten key indicators: resolution rate, congestion, litigiousness, average case duration, pendency, number of judgments and cases filed per judge and magistrate, enforcement of judgments, confirmation of decisions on appeal or supplication, and confirmation of decisions on cassation.
The resolution rate, which measures the courts’ ability to resolve all cases, has shown a negative trend in the latest report, referring to the year 2023 but published in December 2024, particularly in the Social and Civil jurisdictions. From one year to the next, it has dropped from 0.99 to 0.92 in 2023.
The congestion rate, which reflects the volume of cases judicial bodies must process—including newly initiated cases, pending cases from
previous years, and those finally resolved—has also increased. Last year, it stood at 1.84, compared to 1.70 the previous year.
Litigation times have lengthened from 8.4 to 9.2 months between 2022 and 2023, and pending cases have risen by 14%. These figures vary across jurisdictions, with the situation being even worse in the Supreme Court, where the average duration of cassation appeals in civil matters has already reached 25 months. All of this suggests that the situation is deteriorating rather than improving, despite efforts and dedication.
The litigation rate—measured as the number of court cases per 1,000 inhabitants—has declined, with an indicator of 143.64. However, resolution times have increased across all jurisdictions. Additionally, fewer cases were resolved compared to the previous year, as indicated by the pendency rate.
In total, nearly 4 million cases remained pending in 2023, marking a 14% increase from the previous year.
The number of judgments issued per judge or magistrate was 278, a 1.1% increase compared to the previous year.
The XVI Report of the Justice Activity Observatory 2024 reveals that more than 3.9 million pending cases are exacerbating the judicial backlog.
Available data show that over the past decade (2013–2023), the number of pending cases has surged from 1.67 million to over 3.9 million, significantly increasing the workload and pressure on judges and magistrates.
A direct consequence of this situation is that 4.8 billion euros remain unsettled in judicial appropriation accounts, even though the rightful recipients of these funds already have final judgments in their favour.
There is an urgent need for both economic and human resources to address dysfunctions in the distribution of jurisdictional responsibilities between judges and LAJs (Justice Administration Lawyers), to ensure the proper functioning of electronic judicial files and virtual courtrooms, and

to optimize tools that are still ineffective. Additionally, there is a lack of real and adequate development of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) mechanisms, along with incentives to shift from a culture of litigation to one of agreement. More importantly, as mentioned earlier, the provision of economic and human resources must be consistent, deliberate, and well-structured, avoiding improvisation and reactive measures.
The data are discouraging, and these judicial inefficiencies affect not only magistrates, judges, lawyers, justice administration lawyers, clerks, solicitors, barristers, and legal professionals but also citizens, families, and businesses.
The slow pace of justice has serious economic repercussions, sometimes even with tragic consequences, creating uncertainty and discouragement for entrepreneurs and investors.
At the presentation of the XVI Report of the Observatory of the Activity of Justice 2024, Juan S. Mora-Sanguinetti (author of The Injustice Bill) was among the attendees. He highlighted key data illustrating the real-world impact of judicial inefficiencies, such as the fact that a reduction in judicial congestion could lead to 3,400 additional rental properties in Madrid, 3,100 in Barcelona, and 1,400 in Valencia; that improved judgment enforcement could positively influence business investment, entrepreneurship rates (by 5–7%), and business growth (by 1.1–2.8%); and that credit markets would
also benefit—a one-point increase in the court resolution rate could result in a 0.32% increase in the total credit-to-GDP ratio.
If resources are properly allocated to the justice system, if legislators take a thoughtful and committed approach, and if the legal sector continues to work with dedication, then perhaps the final ingredient in Carlos Alcaraz’s formula for success will no longer be necessary. Unfortunately, all legal professionals must still rely on it—at least metaphorically—to carry out their daily work.

JOSÉ ORDÓÑEZ CUADROS MARBELLA NOTARY PUBLIC/ NOTARIO DE MARBELLA
A January morning with clear blue skies. A lady comes to the notary’s office and asks to see me. I receive her. She’s at the best age. Any age is the best age because it means you’re alive. If you have to put a number to her age, she’s 74. She’s holding a little dog that listens to our conversation with a sad look in its eyes.
• I want to make a will.
• Very well, madam. And how do you wish to dispose of your estate?
• I don’t care. What I want is you to state that my only wish is for my ashes to be mixed with Jasper’s (on hearing his name, the dog listens more attentively, with the same sad expression on his face).
• Fine, I can include that wish in your will, but who do you want to inherit your house and your bank account?
• Well, as I don’t have any other relatives, it would all be for my nieces and nephews.
• But equal parts for all of them? Don’t you have a special affection for one of them that you want to favour?
• I don’t even know how many I have or what their names are. They live in England and they’ve never even phoned me. They don’t know if I’m alive or dead.
Two weeks later, a lawyer comes to the notary’s office and tells me that the vet had put Jasper to sleep, and that the lady had gone home with his ashes and committed suicide. That’s when I understood everything. She had come to the notary when the vet told her that Jasper had to be put down. She knew she didn’t want to go on without him, and it was the only way they could stay together. I can’t help but get emotional every time I remember this story. Such loneliness!
No saben si estoy viva o muerta.
Juan Miguel Quiñones has established himself as a singular reference in the realm of new Spanish sculpture, distinguished by his bold ability to hybridize various stone materials with traditional sculptural techniques. THE ARTISTIC METAMORPHOSIS OF ZAM.ROD
LA TRANSFORMACIÓN DE LA ARTISTA ZAM.ROD
The delicate nocturnal butterflies, painted with exquisite detail, take center stage in the latest work by painter Laura Zambrana.
After a decade dedicated to abstract art, artist Laura Zambrana, known as Zam.Rod, embarks on an exciting evolution into figurative painting. Her latest collection showcases a series of works where nocturnal butterflies emerge as the stars. With linen canvases as her medium, Zam Rod impresses by meticulously capturing these lepidopterans in ink and watercolor, employing a refined palette of contemporary colors that exude sophistication. The inspiration for this profound transformation blossomed during her time on the Emerald Isle (Ireland). “Spending two years in a cabin nestled in a serene Irish village allowed me to rediscover myself, shedding external pressures and reconnecting with my true essence,” Zambrana reflects. “This transformative period inspired me to explore my creativity, deepen family connections, and reignite my artistic passion. A dragonfly from one of my earlier works became the catalyst. Studying it led to a serendipitous discovery of nocturnal butterflies, whose intricate beauty, symbolic depth, and complexity captivated me entirely.”
Her new works delve into themes of metamorphosis and renewal, symbolized by the enchanting transition of caterpillars into butterflies—a reflection of her own artistic and personal rebirth.
A graduate of Milan’s Istituto Europeo di Design, Zam. Rod honed her craft under the mentorship of celebrated fashion illustrator Arturo Elena. Her expertise has led her to
collaborate with prestigious brands such as Hoss Intropia, Gastón y Daniela, and Castañer. Her artwork has graced galleries like Jorge Alcolea in Madrid, high-end boutiques like Pedro Peña and Aalto in Marbella, and the portfolios of renowned decorators like Regina del Campo.
In 2024, Zam.Rod launched her new website, www.zamrod. com, offering her pieces for direct purchase, removing intermediaries to make her work accessible worldwide. Each piece is ready to hang, elegantly framed in an American boxstyle frame, with free shipping included, ensuring an effortless acquisition experience.
Laura Zambrana began her journey as a designer in Milan, refining her skills at the prestigious Istituto Europeo di Design. Over her career, she has showcased her work across Ireland, Spain, and various online galleries and luxury home décor stores. After years immersed in abstraction, 2024 marks her bold leap into the figurative realm, exploring its rich possibilities with fresh creative vigor.

Her new proposal is inspired by how a burning desire can transform our lives, leading us to success.

Tell us about yourself, where you’re from and how long you’ve been in the decorating business.
I’m originally from Bruges in Belgium, and I’ve sold and designed garden furniture in Belgium for many years. In 2019 I decided to bring my more than 20 years of experience in the garden furniture business to the Spanish coasts with the opening of the first store in Marbella, A CIELO ABIERTO. Our formula was an immediate success and led directly to more stores in Spain. The success of our stores made me decide to move to Marbella with my family, a decision we have never regretted for a moment, professionally or privately.
What is A CIELO ABIERTO, and what do you offer your clients?
A CIELO ABIERTO offers the highest quality outdoor and indoor furniture at affordable prices. Our sales team helps our clients find the ideal furniture and accessories for the terrace. To do this, we visit the client’s home and, if desired, draw everything out. This applies to both private homes and the hospitality market.
How many stores do you currently have?
At the moment we have four stores, and in the near future we’ll have two more. Our Marbella store is located in the Oasis Business Centre, the Estepona store is located at the roundabout of the sports centre, and then we have two more stores on the Costa Blanca, in Benissa and Altea. The newest store will be in Empuriabrava on the Costa Brava, and in Estepona we have a new store with a full range of indoor furniture.
What types of furniture do you carry in your stores?
Whatever your style, you can come to us. We have contemporary collections and classic collections, all made from the finest materials. The outdoor materials are 100% weatherproof. In addition to indoor and outdoor furniture, we also offer an extensive range of parasols, carpets, barbecues, patio heaters, custom-made indoor and outdoor cushions, indoor decoration, indoor and outdoor lighting... To do
this, we work exclusively with the best brands, brands with which we’ve had a loyal relationship for years and which we know only offer quality. These brands include Jati & Kebon, Manutti, Dedon, Joli, Gloster, Heatsail and Dome Deco.
How do you see the decorating market in Marbella and the Costa del Sol?
Our clients are mainly people who own a second home in Spain. We’ve noticed that more than ever, people are moving away from cheaper furniture and are looking for the same quality and comfort as they have at home. Not only is this a good development for our stores, but it also means that people are making a choice for the environment by opting for sustainable furniture that is manufactured under the right conditions.
What is it about A CIELO ABIERTO that makes clients choose you over the competition?
In addition to offering the right collections, it’s even more important to listen to your client so that years after the purchase they still have a positive opinion of A CIELO ABIERTO. We want satisfied customers, which means we’ve sold well and our client has purchased correctly. This personal approach is very important to us. Another advantage of A CIELO ABIERTO is that we always have a lot of stock available. We also accommodate our clients by providing storage until the property is ready or until the client can return to Spain. A CIELO ABIERTO is also the ideal B2B partner for large and small projects. For B2B, we’re a distributor of Jati & Kebon in Spain and the perfect choice for customised furniture.
What do you like most about your business?
We sell luxury to our clients. Everyone comes to us with a happy feeling, because it’s about buying items that the client needs to enjoy their property in Spain 100%, and still enjoy the beautiful items we offer 20 years later. Being able to run my business in Spain makes me and my family even happier.

¿Qué hace diferente a Newlink Spain?

BY EVA DEL AMO
When Elvis Aaron Presley was born on 8th January 1935 in Tupelo, Mississippi, to a humble family, no one could have imagined that he would become one of the most legendary musical icons of the 20th century. His twin brother, Jesse Garon, died in childbirth, an event that deeply affected his mother, Gladys Presley.
From an early age, Elvis showed a special sensitivity to music. Every Sunday, he and his family attended Pentecostal church, where he was fascinated by gospel singing, a genre, he would later admit, that had a major influence on his style.
When Elvis was 13, his family moved to Memphis, Tennessee in search of better opportunities. It was there that the young Elvis began to immerse himself in the various musical trends that dominated the city. On the legendary Beale Street, home of the blues, and listening to local radio stations broadcasting rhythm and blues and country, he began to shape the distinctive sound that would later captivate millions.
In 1953, at the age of 18, Elvis made a recording at Sun Records Studios with the intention of giving it to his mother as a gift. Sam Phillips, the studio owner, was impressed with his voice. A year later, Phillips reunited Elvis with musicians Scotty Moore and Bill Black, and the result was an electrifying version of ‘That’s All Right’, the blues song that was to be the beginning of Elvis’ musical career.
Presley was more than just a singer. He managed to break down racial barriers in a segregated America by bringing the sound of black music to white audiences. His boundless energy, his hypnotic and provocative hip moves
and his natural charisma made him a social phenomenon. In 1956 he signed to RCA Records and released ‘Heartbreak Hotel’, which became his first major hit. That same year he also made his national television debut and starred in his first film, ‘Love Me Tender’.
Elvis quickly became the face of rock and roll. His rebellious spirit challenged the conservative norms of the 1950s. His clothes, distinctive hairstyle and easy-going attitude changed the way young people perceived music.
Between 1956 and 1958, Elvis dominated the charts with iconic songs such as ‘Hound Dog’, ‘Don’t Be Cruel’ and ‘Jailhouse Rock’. He also starred in a series of musical films that made him a huge superstar. But his meteoric career was cut short in 1958 when he was drafted into the US Army. While serving in Germany, Elvis met Priscilla Beaulieu, who would later become his wife and with whom he had a daughter, Lisa Marie Presley. On his return to the US in 1960, he resumed his career, but the music scene had changed with the arrival of bands like The Beatles. Despite this, Elvis continued to record albums and star in films, sometimes criticised for their lack of quality. In 1968 he marked a milestone in his career with the television programme ‘Elvis: The Comeback Special’. Dressed in a black leather suit, he demonstrated that the power of his music remained immeasurable.
In the early 1970s, Elvis settled in Las Vegas. His concerts continued to draw crowds, who he dazzled with a mature voice that allowed him to tackle different genres. Behind the curtain of lights and applause, however, Elvis was struggling with his addictions.
His marriage to Priscilla ended in 1973. His health had deteriorated to such an extent that it was beginning to affect his ability to perform. Despite this, he continued to give concerts, demonstrating that the only way he was happy was performing on stage.
Elvis Presley died at his Graceland mansion in Memphis on 16 August 1977 at the age of 42. His death shocked the world and marked the end of an era. But his musical and cultural legacy has endured.
With more than a billion records sold and his influence on artists of all genres, Elvis is more alive than ever, as evidenced by the 2022 film ‘Elvis’, which was nominated for eight Oscars. Two years later came the launch of the documentary ‘The Return of the King: The Decline and Rise of Elvis Presley’; a look back at his incredible story.
Every year millions of fans visit his home museum at Graceland. It is a tribute to the King of Rock and Roll – an artist who changed the history of music forever.
“Presley was more than just a singer. His boundless energy, his hypnotic and provocative hip moves and his natural charisma made him a social phenomenon.
