Motivation statement Experience in EYP tells me that those who are reading this motivation statement already do have some EYP-history behind, so I don’t need to tell a long and fascinating story of my obsession with EYP. So, let me explain my reasons for applying for this position in the order of pyramid. I am not a workaholic. But since I am managing my “chronic EYP of brain”, I feel that being constantly involved in volunteering makes me feel more useful for society, than I was before. This makes me satisfied and not looking forward to ending up with EYP. I want to be useful. Being a Head-Organiser of a large-scale event has taught me lots of things I never knew. My working capacity has increased from 5 hours to 10 hours per day without any harm to studying and health. Thus, I know that I am able to handle a wide range of responsibilities without a need of the 25 want to work. Dealing with the Board has made me feel comfortable with its authority. This group of people, which might have seemed to be a closed elite society before, turned out to be always open to help and advice in fact. Managing an NGO is quite comparable with managing a session. I feel myself trained enough for that. I want to be in the team. Even thought talented human resources is the basis of the organization, finance remains the condition of success of the organisation’s activities I believe that wise management of this department has a huge effect on the future of the whole organisation. I want to contribute. Leading a department is teaching and learning at the same time. The key reason to apply is here: I feel myself ready.
Programme statement As a Board member on Fundraising I will take the responsibility of: 1) Keeping constant record of new contacts of EYP-Ukraine and developing EYP sponsorship database; 2) Increasing the number of active participants in the Department, distribution of their tasks and control of their implementation; 3) Continue systematic grant opportunities research and active applying for them; 4) Developing flexible sponsorship scheme, adaptable to each partner’s features and requirements; 5) Collecting, analyzing and structuring financial data of the NGO and reporting on it on monthly basis; 6) Bringing educational aspect into the work of the NGO: inviting experienced trainers to hold workshops and trainings for the members of the EYP and FR department; 7) Cooperating with HR department in keeping contact with EYP-Ukraine alumna, involving them into participation in Alumni Fund; 8) Improving cooperation with PR Department in maintaining contacts with current sponsors of the NGO: sending greeting cards, invitations to particular events, letters of gratitude; 9) Providing support to the IA Department advising fundraising opportunities for delegations to the international events; 10) Cooperating with RD Department in research on regional sponsorship opportunities; 11) Creating groups of fundraising assistants for particular EYP-UA sessions, consisting of FR department members; 12) Providing Head-Organisers of sessions with advice in writing sponsorship proposals; 13) Holding FR Departments meetings and Happy Hours ever y 2 months; 14) Advising the Board in promotion of the Department members to leadership members.
Your personal provisional contribution to EYP Ukraine My strive to contribute to the wellbeing of EYP-Ukraine by devoted work in Fundraising Department is supported by ability to contribute to growth of my NGO in constant work on development of its human resources. I think that a key factor of prosperous future of every participant is in the extent of the knowledge and skills they gain from the opportunities taken. EYP-Ukraine gives a wide range of academic opportunities, but only some of EYP-ers gain practical experience. In cooperation with Human Resources Department I am going to increase active involvement of the FRD members into various trainings which will improve their skills in Fundraising that is quite a difficult function of our NGO. Except for inside development, I also see the need of increasing the database of personal contacts with potential partners, since personal approach has proven to be the most efficient way to raise funds. During my term in the Board I will be involved into International Session fundraising, which is going to be the most challenging task not only for me, but for the whole NGO. I am going assist it with my experience and acquaintance with other International Sessions’ fundraising process. So, if you are still not sure than in the era of approaching International Session the Board of EYP-Ukraine needs an ambitious, creative, persuasive, persistent, patient, person with strategic thinking and burst of productivity at 4 am, perhaps you will be inspired to vote in favour by the fact that I have a good vocal.
