President

Motivation statement People and curiosity make my main motivation to apply. Last couple of years has become the biggest adventure in my life, making me addicted to traveling, meeting new people, discovering new talents and building new skills, volunteering, leading, creating something new and exceeding expectations. I fully owe this part of life experience to EYP and realize very clearly that opportunities I've been given in this organisation make a chance that might arrive once in a lifetime. I totally adore people with whom I am honoured to work side by side during various EYP projects and do feel that they make a very active, encouraging and supportive audience for one's ideas, being always ready to cooperate, discuss new ideas and launch new ambitious and challenging projects. So, I owe the second part of my knowledge and experience to all the EYP people, and now feel ready to payback - sharing my vision and experience. I have a big desire to help members of EYP Ukraine to turn their ideas into real projects and initiatives, and a great motivation to let the world know how bright and unique the EYPers are.

And curiosity, right. I'm really curious how far can we go. Together.

Programme statement During last 2.5 years I was lucky to be a part of several bright NC teams and a number of session/project organising teams who managed not only to implement their projects successfully, but also to build a great knowledge platform for further EYP initiatives. Having a structured, formalized and, most importantly, working mechanism of National Committee functioning, I see the next logical step in development of EYP Ukraine in revealing the full potential of EYP International network which is expanding its geography and now attracting participants from 40+ countries to its events. In the same time I would put an emphasis on the quality of preparation of our delegations and proper follow-up on their experiences. It is also important to preserve the role of EYP in Ukrainian civil society and NGO movement.

Finally, EYP Ukraine is getting ready to host 2 big international events in 2014 – 8th National Session and 77th International Session. The first will open the doors of EYP to young generation of Ukrainians while the second one will open Ukraine to youngsters from all over Europe and will become one of the biggest and most remarkable event on the EYP map. All this could be reached through: - Proactive PR strategy incorporating EYP presentations at educational establishments, actively reaching youth from various regions of Ukraine, and mass media presence; - Building mutually beneficial cooperation and exchange with all NCs of EYP; - Developing and conducting a number of training events and workshops for members focused on: a) EYP non-formal education tools (chairing, journo trainings, public speaking etc.); b) the European Union and EU – Ukraine relations; c) academic preparation and research; - Establishment of EYP@School initiative to attract secondary school senior students to EYP activities; - Advocating and preparing follow-up on EYP resolutions; - Reaching students and pupils in regions through 1-2-day format EYP events; - Supporting and encouraging participation of our members in various educational projects, volunteering movement and public events; - Consolidating and steering efforts of NC members in organising 8th NS and 77th IS;

I also see the President’s contribution in ensuring professional development of Board members, both in their functional fields and overall project management skills, so that they would be able to pass the knowledge to their functional Departments and coach new young generation of EYP activists. The Board should be ready both to pass experience to projects happening throughout Ukraine and learn themselves, attending training events abroad.

Lastly, I would aim to remain open to all the initiatives coming from members of EYP Ukraine.

Your personal provisional contribution to EYP Ukraine According to a number of nationwide surveys, only 2-3% of Ukrainians planned to spend vacation abroad/travel on business trips etc in 2013. There is another figure - 36% of Ukrainians never left their native region (oblast'). I find such statistics harmful for country's competitiveness and overall development, since its people are artificially excluded from getting to know different cultures and lifestyles and thus being not able to implement world's best practices into the life of our society. When it comes to young people, it is extremely important to make sure that they are given wide opportunities to build their own life path and empowered to fully use all educational and volunteering opportunities the world has to offer.

Today youth is cosmopolitan as never before - traveling, communicating and sharing same informational environment. Ukrainians deserve to be an active part of this process, and I see the biggest provisional contribution of EYP Ukraine and me personally in making this happen.
