CALL FOR PARTICIPANTS FOR ASK 2014 - INTERNATIONAL FORUM OF EYP-UKRAINE NOVEMBER, 2 - NOVEMBER, 9 Dear ladies and gentlemen, The international youth NGO European Youth Parliament-Ukraine (EYP-Ukraine) is delighted to launch an open call for participants for ASK 2014! We are looking for young people over 18, who are interested in security issues and want to make a difference in today’s challenging world. The International Forum of the European Youth Parliament - Ukraine “Agora on Security Kyiv” (a.k.a. ASK 2014), will be held between 2nd and 9th November 2014 in Kyiv and will focus on international and European security under the umbrella topic: Re:think security policy and hack old paradigms. The event is organised in cooperation with the Berlin-based Schwarzkopf Foundation, the international umbrella organisation of the European Youth Parliament (EYP). ASK 2014 is financially supported by the Council of Europe’s European Youth Foundation. The organising team is currently waiting for the grant results from the German Federal Foreign Office. The people behind the idea are very experienced EYP alumni: the president of ASK 2014 - Mr. Martin Hoffmann from Germany and two project managers – Mrs. Anna Suprunenko and Ms. Kseniia Choni from Ukraine. The Agora on Security Kyiv 2014 will provide an open forum that will allow the participants to analyse political patterns that govern international security, understand their flaws and advantages and develop new strategies for collaboration in international security. ASK aims to leave an impact on its participants and the wider world. Breaking old patterns, its final results will have a more strategic approach, aiming to envision security from various perspectives. If you are interested in participating, we welcome both official delegations from the National Committees of the European Youth Parliament (EYP), as well as individual applicants. We are looking for delegations of up to 9 people, sent by National Committees of the EYP. The National Committees willing to send delegations should provide the list of delegates to the following email info@eyp. org until 23.59 CET, on the 25th of August 2014. Please note that we are looking for the delegates of 18 y.o. and older, who are familiar with the topic and have high academic standards.

Thus, all those who are available and interested in becoming a participant are invited to apply by filling out the application form and submitting their applications via THIS LINK. The deadline for individual applications is 23.59 CET, on the 1st of September 2014. Late applications won’t be accepted and considered. The selection will begin once the application deadline is over. All applicants will be informed individually of the outcome of their application as soon as the selection is complete. Please note that only individual applicants need to complete the participants application form. We would like to remind you about the eligibility criteria for ASK participants: • Only European participants (both EYP and non-EYP) aged 18-26 with a strong interest and proven knowledge in security-related issues are eligible to apply; • Language requirement: the official working language of event as well as all ASK-related activities will be English. Therefore, candidates are required to be fluent in English. • Availability for the entire period of the forum. Each participant is required to take active part in all activities organised in the framework of ASK 2014. There will be no participation fee for participants, but a deposit of 50 EUR prior to the Forum to secure the spot, which will be returned after the event. Accommodation and subsistence for the full event is covered by the funding provided by our partners. Once selected as participant, you will have to cover the costs of your return ticket to Kyiv. Please note that all participants are asked to arrive on Sunday November 2nd. Departures can begin on the morning of Sunday November 9th.
