Head Organisers` Vision: Umbrella topic focusing on industry, innovation, and infrastructure The EYP Ukraine umbrella topic for the year is “Laying a strong foundation for a sustainable society.” It has the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development as the groundwork, yet it focuses on three particular goals. Lviv NSC will be aimed to elaborate on goal No.9 – industry, innovation, and infrastructure. “To reach this goal EYP Ukraine will encourage the discussion on inclusive and sustainable industrialisation, explaining the necessity of resource-use efficiency and adoption of clean and environmentally sound technologies and industrial processes. We believe that fostering of investments is essential to upgrade infrastructure and retrofit industries to make them sustainable. We will support the research on quality, reliable, sustainable and resilient infrastructure, including regional and transborder infrastructure.”
Mental and Physical well-being The organising, as well as the officials’ team, will work on creating the safest, most trustworthy, pleasant, and welcoming environment to open everyone’s full potential during the session. This will also be achieved by holding first aid training during CJO days. Therefore, we would like each committee and each team to maintain a healthy environment for each participant’s personal comfort, growth, and well-being. We are eager to minimise the gap between and bring closer delegates, chairs, MTMs, organisers and leadership as well as between different committees in order to allow everyone to find a certain path in EYP, get to know as many people as possible and improve together. Besides, various possible media projects promoting a healthy lifestyle and well-being tips for the sessions might incredibly complement our concept.
Educational emphasis As we consider EYP a perfect platform not only to socialise and develop but also for informal education and academic growth, we have an aim at putting a strong emphasis on giving this opportunity to the delegates. A comprehensive understanding of the EU politics in general and complete involvement in the resolution drafting process requires basic knowledge of the European institutions and governing bodies. Sadly, the latter is often superficial among the delegates, and among firstcomers from Ukraine in particular. Trying to overcome this gap step by step, we wish to bring innovation to EYP Ukraine events by adding Understanding Europe Crash Course in the schedule of the session. The primary reason for it is to give participants an efficient academic boost and to increase their knowledge of the EU institutions. Therefore, media projects on this topic would also be a great asset to the event. We believe that visualising would significantly contribute to our educational aspirations and facilitate the understanding of such sophisticated topics by the delegates.
