EUROPEAN YOUTH PARLIAMENT UKRAINE
Call for the National Coordinator Understanding Europe (UE) Ukraine
PROJECT: Understanding Europe is an international project aimed at providing young people in Europe with a basic understanding of the European Union and important topics on a European level. It further motivates its participants to develop their own opinions and engage themselves for European topics. This project was initiated by the Schwarzkopf-Stiftung, the European Youth Parliament’s international umbrella organisation, and together we have built up a network of volunteers who join the project as seminar trainers, participants and project coordinators. Currently, the project is being implemented in 14 countries across Europe including Ukraine. The Understanding Europe Project is part of the European Youth Parliament in Ukraine, however, the project coordinator has a lot of room for implementing his/her own vision, methods and working styles. MAIN ACTIVITIES: 4-hours EU Crash Courses in schools and open seminars. The Understanding Europe Project is part of the European Youth Parliament in Ukraine, however, the project coordinator has a lot of room for implementing his/her own vision, methods and working styles. Main Activities: 4-hours EU Crash Courses in schools and open seminars. YOUR ROLE IN THE PROJECT TEAM For the 2018-2019 period we have built up a network of trainers, lead by the Coordinator and Head-Trainer. We aim to stabilise the existing regions and teams but also increase them if possible. Therefore it is necessary to get new people to join existing and new regions in the roles of regional coordinators responsible for the trainers by regions. You as the coordinator will be in the lead together with EYP Ukraine and the Schwarzkopf Foundation to include this new role in the current structure and set up a cooperation process between all levels. WHAT SHOULD A COORDINATOR BRING? The project cannot be implemented without a strong Coordinator. This person is a leader for a team of Head Trainer and trainers. He/she is the face of the project inside and outside of EYP and a representative of the National Project team on international trainings. He/She is coordinating the project implementation with its communication, administration, team management and capacity building aspects in Ukraine and helps his/her regional coordinators and trainers.
YOUR NEXT STEPS ●
First of all, you will be introduced to the project by the current National Coordinator Ruslan Kononov and by the Project Manager of the Schwarzkopf Foundation/ International Office of the EYP Kerstin Eckart.
●
The next step is to create a team of trainers with the help of Head Trainer.
●
After your team is ready to start, they need to be trained. For this, you organise a T4T (Training for Trainers) event, where experienced trainers are meeting newcomers. Also, it is a great way to do teambuilding and get to know each other.
●
The longest but the most important part is coming now: The EU Crash Courses in Ukrainian schools. Very important is collecting statistics and feedbacks from trainees and reporting the project status regularly to EYP Ukraine and Kerstin.
●
During the year there are lots of meetings, celebrations, trainings, shared dreams and achieved goals. The Coordinator should see the team regularly and keep the motivation high during the project.
●
The last step is selection and transition of duties to the next Coordinator.
WHY TO BECOME A COORDINATOR? ●
development of team leadership qualities and communication skills;
●
expanding knowledge on the EU and its institutions
●
doing voluntary work with one of the biggest international youth organisations in Europe
●
attending national and international training events on how to maintain and develop the project;
●
long-term project management experience.
A newly selected National Coordinator is expected to have a knowledge-sharing offline meeting with the Previous National Coordinator as well as the President of EYP Ukraine, where the goals of the project for the upcoming year and vision are to be discussed. If you have any questions, please, do not hesitate to approach Ruslan Kononov, National Coordinator of the Understanding Europe project 2017-2018 at understanding.europe@eyp-ua.org DEADLINE: 12th of October 2018, 23:59 EEST APPLICATION FORM: http://bit.ly/ue_application
