SELECTION REPORT Selection Report for Jury Members of Kharkiv'17 — 11th NSC of EYP Ukraine, 10-15 July 2017 The Selection Panel composed by Maciej Krynski (President of the Session), Maria Köpping (Head of Jury of the Session), Tetiana Lavrichenko (Project Coordinator of EYP Ukraine), Valeriia Nikitenko and Oleksandr Polishchuk (Head Organisers of the Session) has concluded the selection of two Jury Members. Applications

The panel received applications from 11 applicants (7 female, 4 male) in total, with applicants coming from the following countries: Ukraine (4), Austria (1), Latvia (1), Portugal (1), Finland (1), Belgium (1), Georgia (1), Romania (1). Deliberations During the selection process, every application was reviewed carefully. The Panel discussed all applications thoroughly, taking into consideration the experience and personal motivation of the applicants, English language skills, clear explanation of their vision for the session and its accordance with the vision of the Selection Panel, the profiles of potential Jury Members, previous experience as well as their insight into the responsibilities of the position they were applying for. As far as most of the candidates had no experience as a Jury Member, the Selection Panel took into consideration their EYP history in general and rejected three applications at the very first stage due to a lack of experience. The panel proceeded to discuss the applicants’ responses to the application questions, rejecting two applicants due to their incoherent vision of what constitutes a good delegate and another two due to the vague motivation and lack of vision for personal development in the role of jury member. Next four applications were compared by different criteria, including their evaluations from their previous sessions. As there were four almost equal applications, the Selection Panel decided to make a decision judging by applicants’ answer for the question about

priorities between people, process and product. Furthermore, it decided to select one Ukrainian applicant and one international applicant. The Selection Panel decided to put two applicants to a “waiting list”, that, however, was not used because the main candidates have confirmed their participation. Selected Jury Members After thorough discussions and careful analysis, Selection Panel agreed to approve the following applications: Mariam Kunchuliya (UA) Constance de Walque (BE) The panel was grateful to receive applications from motivated candidates who showed interest in the session and being part of the Kharkiv ‘17 — 11th National Selection Conference of EYP Ukraine. Furthermore, the panel appreciates those applicants who have put a lot of effort in writing their applications and who presented their capacity to contribute to the session’s vision and ideas in their applications. The panel strongly encourages all the applicants to use the next opportunities to become a part of the events of EYP Ukraine! The panel guarantees that every application was discussed and considered thoroughly. Moreover, the panel assures that the confirmation and the invitation process was monitored carefully and with complete confidentiality.
