SELECTION REPORT Selection Report for Chairpersons of Kharkiv'17 — 11th NSC of EYP Ukraine, 10-15 July 2017 The Selection Panel composed by Maciej Krynski (President of the Session), Tetiana Lavrichenko (Project Coordinator of EYP Ukraine), Valeriia Nikitenko and Oleksandr Polishchuk (Head Organisers of the Session) has concluded the selection of eight Chairpersons. Applications
The panel received applications from 28 applicants (16 female, 12 male) in total, with applicants coming from the following countries: Ukraine (7), Poland (4), Luxembourg (3), Armenia (1), Italy (1), Turkey (1), Spain (1), the Netherlands (1), Greece (1), the United Kingdom (1), Belarus (1), Slovenia (1), Switzerland (1), Romania (1), Russian Federation (1), Sweden (1), Portugal (1) . Deliberations During the selection process, every application was reviewed carefully. The panel discussed all applications thoroughly, taking into consideration the experience and personal motivation of the applicants, English language skills, clarity of their vision for the session, the profiles of potential Chairpersons, previous experience as a Chairperson as well as their insight into the responsibilities of the position they were applying for. As far as four candidates had no previous experience as a Chairperson, while its presence was an essential selection criteria, their applications were rejected at the very first stage. At the next stage, four more candidates were rejected due to the lack of sufficient experience and general understanding of the role, they were applying for. Ten applicants showed decent motivation, but rather general vision of their personal aim at the session and did not fully disclosed their vision of the People – Process – Product cycle. Hence, at the final stage of the selection process, there were ten candidates left. As there were two equal applications (both candidates were the same age, sex, from the same country, illustrated the equal excellent level of English language skills, nearly the same experience ) the Selection Panel decided to make a decision judging by the motivation part. Also, the Selection Panel decided to put one applicant to a “Waiting list”, because the candidate had less experience. However, as during the confirmation and the invitation process, one of the previously selected candidates has rejected, the Selection Panel invited the candidate from the “Waiting list” .
