Preserving heritage - developing technologies
Vision Booklet 21.-25.07 Online
Session theme After a long break in events due to the pandemic, EYP Ukraine is organising its 15th National Selection Conference of EYP Ukraine. The event will take place online between the 21st and 25th, July 2021. The event will create a platform for young Europeans to develop themselves and contribute to the decision-making process on the most recent global problems. Panticapaeum is the first-ever Ukrainian digital NSC named by the ancient city on the territory of modern Ukraine. Combining the usage of the ancient city's name and modern technologies, we show the essential connection between past and future. The progress of ancient civilizations let us come to the point we are at now. Today we enter a new age to make our progress move forward. The development of technologies is as important as keeping heritage knowledge and values. That is what we have as a basis of topics of our session.
Vision for the Academic Team With the Panticapaeum symbolising the saving of the historical heritage, we will be similarly aiming to bring back the core values and acting upon the solid foundations of the EYP. With the rise of online sessions, the latter could oftentimes be neglected, considering the more loose format of the events. In the Panticapaeum, the Academic Team will experience the session to the fullest in both academic growth and personal development. There will be modules for the chairpersons that will range from core trainings to newer concepts adapted to the online format with the aim of helping the academic team adjust to the changes. Being confident that the modules provided will be more than enough to get them chairpersons ready to lead their committees efficiently, we will be welcoming first-timers too. We are looking forward to seeing your applications, promising on our part that you will surely avail from this session as an individual.
Vision for the Board The goal in this session is to ensure that the Vice-presidents do not only get the opportunity to have a say in the decision-making process throughout the conference but also are given the chance to learn and grow as individuals. Due to them being the ones to deliver modules and training to the chairpersons, their own growth is often neglected. Hence, it is of utmost importance for me as the President, to give Vice-presidents an opportunity to learn and develop, preparing them to eventually become Presidents of sessions across Europe. Through having a series of board calls, Vice-presidents needs and wants would be considered, and they would be given assistance with any area they wish to grow in or any matter they face.
Questions for Vice-Presidents 1. What skills do you think are necessary to become a vicepresident and why do you qualify for this role? 2. When was the last time you faced a crisis and how did you handle it? 3. Do you have any other commitments until the session? Will you be able to focus and contribute fully, considering the short time left?
