Lutherstadt Wittenberg is a city with immense historical relevance while possessing a clear urban and architectural identity but faces the “small town� problem: it keeps getting smaller. In such scenario, the search for the most appropriate typology of housing project is a delicate task.

In a location where academia meets a park, the design looks to balance diversity while maintaining a clear identity: program, use, density, height, public space.

The location of the plot is key for the continuity of the Green Belt and connecting CONNECTIVITY it with the Northern residential areas, as well as connecting the City Centre with the Haupbanhof
ENERGY
Although LutherstraĂ&#x;e being mainly a residential street, it‘s influence connecting the Hauptbanhof and the City Hall generates an interesting influx of activities, complemented with the flow incoming from the University, City Centre and Post Office
Both North and West areas from the plot present a consolidated, regular, medium MORPHOLOGY density urban situation, while the South-East region offers a disperse, low density composition; being the project located in a hinge position
OPEN SPACES
The determination of Public, Semi-Public and Private spaces surfaces from the potential activities that can be developed on different points of the project, focusing the most Public along the main streets, the Green Belt and connection paths
