January in Frankfurt is pretty darn cold, so it feels fitting to be here at Heimtextil browsing all the lush materials that are changing the way we make ourselves at home. It’s the 45th year of the fair. We are again at Heimtextil. As you know Turkish textile has 5 percent of market share in the world’s trade. It is the highest level of export we have in any field of the world’s trade. So Turkey started to have a serious voice in export. We increase gradually the number of stores abroad. All of these are important. In the past, we were producing orders from foreign brands, now we market our collections in almost all regions. We covered a lot of ground; next step is to promote our brands in a global market. We still have a long ways to go. We have to go into it wholeheartedly.

Exhibitons as well as industry’s thrust into development contributed so much towards Turkish home textile’s promotion abroad. Initially meeting with customers by taking part in international exhibitions, the industry is now much more serious player in the global markets. Being the world’s fourth largest supplier and the EU’s the largest supplier, Turkey is one of the world leaders in this business and is moving rapidly forward on its way to becoming a brand with its quality. It is not only remarkable to increase product and sales amount; it also fulfills expectations of consumers on quality and design inside and outside Turkey. Turkey is one of world’s giants in home textile through high quality and product range in almost all groups and it is in race to be the best. Increasing its quality in the last decade through high product capacity, skilled labour, capable and experienced designer and cutting edge technology machineries, the industry brought down the cost and achieved to reduce below the world average. Wish you a lot of success with Heimtextil.

INTERVIEW

PİJON

Mr. Bülent Endez, owner of the Pijon Textile answered questions of Fair World Home Textile Magazine for Heimtextil issue. Q - What will you say about Evteks and Heimtextil Frankfurt in terms of visitors? First I would like to say that both events are the largest exhibitions in home textile industry. They attract many visitors from all around the world. Now there are people from all over the world who are waiting the exhibitions in the increasingly globalized industry. If we need to say something about Evteks, it is a proud event. Visitors find a gradually developing and well-arranged exhibition every year.

Levent ENDEZ Bülent ENDEZ

Q - When we compare them to each other, which one is in the forefront, can you tell us briefly? Both of them are on par with each other. Turkish and European home textile industries shares concurrently same seasons. As you see, knowledge isn’t limited with just one person or a company, now everyone knows and learns something. Both of the exhibitions are in the forefront. Now productions are so familiar and similarities on products have been increasing day by day. Of course, two fairs are successful. As long as exhibitors and visitors are pleased with them, they will achieve to be in the forefront. It is disputable which one is better but as long as everyone do quality business that represent very well their companies, exhibitions will have better. Q - This is first time that you participate in Evteks,

Sure we have some deficiencies but I believe that we’ll make up them as soon as possible. First of all, I think that there is lack of promotion. Evteks can’t make enough promotion. That is why it has fewer visitors than Heimtextil. The only way to enhance it is promotion. TV, magazines, press conferences... Even customer satisfaction is a kind of ad. I believe that Evteks increase number of visitors this year and next year.

PİJON

INTERVIEW

Q - You moved to your new facility, which applications do you make related to roller blind there? In new facility, we decided to gather all process of production under a single roof. After yarn turn into product in weaving loom, it needs finish process, so we included a randomaccess machine to our facility. As you know, the most meritorious part of roller blind and zebra products is finish process, so we do it in our own facility.
