It is a huge privilege to be appointed as the new CEO of Farnham Maltings. As a local resident, I have thoroughly enjoyed my visits to the markets, films, theatre, craft activities, comedy, live music and family events, experiencing first-hand the vital role the organisation plays in bringing high-quality arts and culture to everyone in our town and beyond.
This summer is no exception. The theatre selection alone is enticing – we’ve got a promenade performance of Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women; Shakespeare’s The Comedy of Errors at Farnham Cricket Club and aerial acrobatics with The Guy in the Luggage Rack. Building on Farnham’s status as a World Craft Town, craft makers and visual artists can look forward to our first creatives’ network day; a great opportunity to connect with peers, attend workshops and meet industry partners.
I am also delighted to share the news that the Museum of Farnham has successfully received £734,325 from the Museum Estate and Development Fund (MEND) to help us restore the front façade of the building and realise a longer-term ambition of recognising Wilmer House as part of our collection to be shared, explored and preserved for future generations.
We look forward to welcoming you.

Monday – Saturday, 9am–4pm Kitchen opens for lunches Tuesday – Saturday 11.30am–2.30pm
The Riverside Café is the perfect place to unwind during the day, with inside seating and tables on our patio outside. Choose from homemade soups served with artisan sourdough, open Danish sandwiches and freshly made main dishes. Kids can choose from the ‘little maltings’ options. All food is prepared on site by our own chef with local, seasonal produce.
Hot and cold drinks are available together with fresh pastries from our supplier, SØDT bakery. The Cupsmith Roastery based just outside Farnham has supplied us freshly roasted coffee beans and speciality organic teas for some time. Mouth–watering juices, mixers and presses are supplied by Folkingtons, a family–owned business with a commitment to sustainability. We welcome both children and well–behaved four–legged friends.
Please note that we are generally not open on Sunday unless there is a major event or festival taking place in the building. Book ahead and reserve a table for lunch by contacting the box office. We offer bar service before evening performances and will be open 45 minutes before the published start time. Pre–show dining is available for selected performances indicated on our website.

museum of farnham · 38 West Street
We’re delighted to welcome you back to the Museum of Farnham as the sun (hopefully) shines on another busy summer of activities. Located in a beautiful early Georgian town house with an equally stunning walled garden, the Museum of Farnham seeks to share Farnham’s history, from its prehistoric roots and Georgian grandeur to the rich craft heritage that still flows through the town today.
There are plenty of reasons to visit us during the long summer days and evenings ahead. Children can take part in our popular Crafty Kids sessions, become a Curious Curator for the day or try one of our self-guided activities. There’s also outdoor theatre from Bard in the Yard and music from contemporary folk artist Hannah Scott.
The Secret Garden Café will be open for light refreshments on certain event days, so we hope you will join us for tea, coffee and cake in our idyllic walled garden.

HAPPY. GENUINE. INSPIRING.
As from our founding days, everyone at Frensham is on a level playing field. When you come here, you can just relax and be yourself. The teachers don’t hide behind titles or formal clothes and the children’s individuality isn’t hidden behind uniforms or false respect. Egos are left at the door. The Head, the smallest nursery child, the newest teacher, the shyest sixth former - everyone is an equal, important, valued part of the community. Get in touch at admissions@frensham.org to find out more.
