By: Darcy Tharp

Born in 1976, Aleksandr Nozdrin, one of the most famous Russian wedding and family photographers, began his creativity and commercial activities when he was just fourteen years old in the city of Orel. By nineteen he had already achieved great success as a commercial photographer, and by the following year he had moved to Moscow to begin a career with KODAK as a photographer. Initially, the scope of his photographic interests spanned two diverse genres: cars and weddings. In the year 2000, Aleksandr became the main photographer for the highly popular Russian magazine “Automobile” and at the same time also became the main photographer and head of the photo department of the event planning agency “Prazdnik.” However, in 2005 Aleksandr shifted his focus only to weddings and family photography. Today, he and his partners have revolutionized the wedding photo industry in Russia. He has been extremely successful with over 600 wedding photo shoots around the world. Yet, in the world of wedding photography, it is definitely not as easy as it looks and Aleksander claims it is very difficult to stand out and create work that is not similar to others. Thus, he has come a long way in perfecting

his own style and turning his images into works of art. His work can now be found in many galleries and private collections around the world. In describing his work and his process Aleksander says that the work needs to pass his own vision and subconscious feelings before anyone is allowed to see them. He maintains that simplicity is his mantra and nothing more. He does not want anything distracting in his images. When processing an image he has three main objectives: to make a picture of volume, to emphasize the emotions and plot, and to combine all of the pictures in a series into a single story. He believes that all of the elements such as light, color, and composition combine together to create a story that the viewer can enjoy. www.nozdrin.com

leonora Albrecht is an Italian actress and director of German and Russian origins. At first, her studies were based on drawing and fashion design, then she started to study acting and directing. She was born in Rome, but moved to Paris at the age of 17 and then Los Angeles and New York to increase her knowledge of the different methods of acting. As an actress, she appeared in many Italian movies and TV series, and worked with directors like Francesca Comencini and Eugenio Cappuccio.

She directed video art, like “Black Coffee Girl” which was screened at the Chiostro del Bramante, one of the most prestigious museums of Rome. Her first shortmovie is called “Berenice’s ideas”, inspired by one of E. Allan Poe’s novels. This year, she wrote and directed her second short movie, “Madame & Monsieur”, with actors Flavio Parenti, Barbara Bouchet and Andrea Roncato.

FMM: Do you feel that you are more challenged being behind the camera, directing or when you are acting? EA: Both are challenging; it depends on so many things. It’s true that directing involves many more aspects of a movie compared to acting. You have to create a whole vision of the movie, not just the emotions or the character. Visually you have to convey your idea of the story, but also all the choices that you make will become the director’s right or wrong choice. When you act, you only care about acting, and it’s not your fault if the movie will look bad. It’s true though that good acting can make a movie beautiful even if it’s not; so you see, both are challenging in their own way. FMM: Where did the idea for your second short film, “Madame and Monsieur” come from? EA: I don’t know exactly. I guess I just wanted to tell a story based on the feeling of solitude after a life spent with an important love. I used inspirations from my family, and I put in some of my own emotions. In fact it’s a very personal story, but I only found that out after I saw it a few times. Before I thought that it was just an idea of a story, now I know that it’s something that I have deep inside my body. FMM: What was it like for your film “Black Coffee Girl” to be shown at the prestigious Chiostro del Bramante? How did you feel? EA: Amazing, because I had the curator of the exhibition tell me that he had never seen something

40 ||

M A G A Z I N E || APRIL 2015

like that before. It’s experimental video art, but it gives you strange feelings...uncomfortable ones. I was very happy to have this chance. FMM: Favorite hobby and favorite food? EA: I like chocolates and patisserie. My favorite hobby is watching movies, obviously. FMM: You originally studied fashion design and drawing-Do you have any desire to design or work in fashion in the future? Are you a fashionista? EA: Yes, I would like to design a bag collection. I already have an idea, but you know it needs time. Right now I’m focusing on other things, but I will certainly try later. When I was a teenager, my dream was to become the artistic director of a Maison de mode; now I’m directing and creating the artistic direction of my films, choosing all the costumes, mixing them, and creating the looks of the actors. So it’s not that far off from my old dreams. I’m not a fashionista; I’ve never been, but I have a lot of clothes. I don’t care if they’re the right colors of the season, shapes or brands, but I put on what I like on my body. FMM: You said your inspiration for your first short came from an Edgar Allen Poe novel-What else do you like to read? EA: Yes, I like horrors and thrillers, psychological ones especially. I also like to read poetry, and my favorite poet is Paul Eluard. I only read >>>

“classics”, but not as often lately unfortunately. Also I fear that some books won’t be as strong on my mind as some books that I read during my adolescence. I was reading all the Dostoevskij books and they were so powerful that all other stories weren’t enough for me. So I discovered that I like to read only if something amazes my senses, not just for entertainment. FMM: Who is your hero/who do you look up to? EA: My father is my hero. I also respect all the people like doctors and volunteers, who try to save other people’s lives all the time. FMM: Any burning desires/wants? EA: I’d like to play a role in a comedy, where I can be an extremely funny girl, you know like Cameron Diaz in “There’s something about Mary.” That’s one of my dreams. I would also love to collaborate with amazing talents. FMM: What was your favorite role you have played so far and why? EA: One of my favorites was the role of Michelle, an Italian American girl, in an Italian movie called, “Se Sei Così Ti Dico Sì” by Eugenio Cappuccio. It was really emotional, and I was playing a girl in a wheelchair.

hances are you have already heard the soulful and melodic sound that is Tyrone Wells. His music has been featured in over 50 films and television shows such as, American Idol, Grey’s Anatomy, The Odd Life of Timothy Green, Something Borrowed, One Tree Hill, Vampire Diaries, Private Practice and many more. The first time he heard his music on a show, he found the experience very touching. That first show was FX’s Rescue Me, about New York City firefighters. He fondly remembers Denis Leary’s character dealing with the passing of a friend and fellow firefighter. We talked with the singer/ songwriter about his up and coming album, tour and most importantly, his music. Tyrone Wells, the youngest of five, hails from Spokane Washington. Although currently living in California with his wife, Elina and two kids Aria and Ireland, he has always been amazed by the beauty of the Evergreen State. “Spokane is full of hard working, fun loving and generally kind people.” You can always find new pockets of cool and culture when you visit his beloved hometown. Awesome is how he describes growing up with four sisters, with whom he is still very close. Spread out across the Western United States, they are great, and he feels lucky to have them. If not for them roaming around the house singing or playing instruments, he may never have developed his love for music. He thinks his fan base leans a bit female because he learned how to talk to girls growing up. Tyrone grew up listening to gospel music, old country/cowboy songs, and singer/songwriter

John Denver. Though, his all-time favorite is Stevie Wonder. With an eclectic blend of tastes, he embraces the classics such as Simon & Garfunkel and James Taylor as well as modern music like Snow Patrol and Bruno Mars. He also enjoys lesser known artist such as Patty Griffin and Andrew Belle. He took guitar lessons but lacked the discipline to sit and play scales. He found writing songs far more interesting. You will not find him playing ripping solos; he has a quiet love affair with the acoustic guitar. “We make out from time to time…always passionate, always satisfying,” how very lucky for the guitar. Decent at soccer, basketball, and tennis, he quickly realized that David Beckham, LeBron James, and Rafael Nadal had nothing to worry about; instead he dreamed of making a career out of music. At the time, it was unclear how to accomplish this dream, “It’s still a mystery to me that it’s working out.” He achieves his goals by “working really hard and writing and recording songs, and then being very motivated to go out and play them for anyone that would lend me an ear.” He has turned this fervor into a solid fan base that helps him to make music and a good living… for this he is humbled and grateful. While fronting bands in high school and college, he learned the business of making music and merchandise and made a little money while he was at it. “I kept learning and growing until I didn’t need a job anymore; my passion became my job.” Always hustling, there were times when he was starting out as a solo artist, playing four >>>

different weekly gigs at different coffee shops and restaurants. Eventually, this would turn into bigger stages and a decent fan base, one baby step after another. “No big giant steps into crazy fame…just slowly growing notoriety,” I have seen instant fame “eat a lot of people alive.” When discussing how faith plays a part in his creative process, he is contemplative. Tyrone sees the world through the lens of a belief that God loves us and wants us to live beautiful and meaningful lives. Life is brimming with significance, and God’s fingerprints can be seen all around us, even in the most surprising places. “I think as a result of my beliefs, the music I make is more hopeful than some.” When you believe as he does, “ that there is a loving God out there that knows your name and everything about you, it can’t help but change the way you do everything…like write songs.” The passing of his wife’s grandfather inspired Let Go, a poignant song about loss. He has written

many songs that touch on the themes of life and death. Death seems surreal, “We’re alive; so it seems strange, but all the while our own demise is riveting to consider and ever present and possible.” Finding it sobering and a constructive reality, “We only have so much time, what will we do with it?” His new album Roll With It, will be available on March 17, 2015, and is available for Pre-order on iTunes. It is going to make people feel great when they hear it. It is a very up tempo record with the exception of a couple of songs. “Sonically, I am stoked about how the record has shaped up.” He cannot wait for people to hear it. While his previous records have focused on the acoustic guitar, Roll With It, has a wider sphere of fuel for the creative fire. The creative process looked different this time, and he thinks the record will surprise his listeners in a good way. His wife Elina is also musically inclined. The first time he saw Elina she was on stage,

not “much” to our chagrin, “stepping out of the passenger side door of a Chevrolet,” a clever lyric from his hit song, Running Around in My Dreams. He introduced himself, and she promptly introduced him to her boyfriend. Over time, they ended up writing songs together and the rest, as they say, is history. Together they have two daughters, Aria, who just turned 3 and Ireland. Aria, made famous by the YouTube video of her father singing Beautiful Girl Beautiful World, thinks everyone’s job is to get up on stage and sing. When friends and family mention going to work, she says “on the stage?” Their little blue-eyed wonder is super cute indeed. e talked about his time on the road and whether or not his family accompanies him. Being able to travel and play his music all around the world is an incredible job. If he is on the road for more than a couple weeks, they will try to break and fly the family out, or he will fly home for a bit. “The road schedule is just too hard on a family and little ones that need structure, schooling, nap times and reasonably sane bed times.”

vital for me to evaluate what is truly most valuable to me.” He is careful to value and prioritize his family by giving and protecting time for them. He is thankful to Elina, who helped him prioritize his values. “It makes for a better life.” The “Roll With It 2015 Tour” will be hitting major cities in the Unites States, tickets are currently available. The tour starts mid-March and ends in May. Dominic Balli and Emily Hearn will open for him. You can also see him this November touring in Brazil with Mr. Balli.

When he first started performing in front of a live audience, he describes the experience as “sheer terror.” After having played countless shows, he now feels more comfortable and encouraged while on stage. “It is gratifying to hop up in front of people and share art and music that I have made. “

When we asked Tyrone what music means to him, he is as eloquent as ever. A great escape, healing, uplifting, sensual, emotional and an incredible gift, simply unable to use one word. “I used a lot of words, and still they seem a gross understatement.” We here at Most could not agree more.

Being a husband, father and musician can be hard to balance. “I’ve learned that if I’m not extremely intentional about protecting family time, my time will get gobbled up by other less important things.” This lesson took some time to learn because those “less important things” always seem so important, like money or success. “It’s been

Tyrone Wells is a lyrical wordsmith whose humble approach to success is both captivating and awe-inspiring. His music is a constant melody that leaves you tapping your feet and feeling hopeful for whatever comes next. Chances are if you have not heard this talented musician, you most certainly soon will.

This dark family thriller is filled with twists and promises great page-turning storytelling with an incredible cast. We talked with Mr. McShane about his exciting new role and how Disney’s animated Robbin Hood transformed this talent into a fan favorite. Jamie grew up on the northeastern tip of New Jersey with two brothers and two sisters. Small town living, with an idyllic childhood, ensured his love of playing sports. He excelled in ice hockey, but a freak head injury would change the course his life would take. Jamie was always inspired by his parents, who instilled in him traits of fairness, hard work, perseverance, kindness, appreciation, and hope: strong values he would use to realize his dreams. He would go on to attend the University of Richmond, as an English major. His plan was to play hockey in the Olympics, after which he would go pro, then become an actor. The idea first came to him after watching the animated cartoon Robin Hood, as a young child. Acting would prove to be his true calling. He sharpened his skills with theater work in New York and New Jersey. He also played parts in any student films he could get. Despite 13 years of being told otherwise, he always believed he could be an actor. His first major role would be Detective Eaton on NYPD Blue.

We asked the actor about the role that landed him his Screen Actors Guild card. After leaving a head shot at the front desk of a New York talent agency, he made his way to the elevator. Before the doors closed, a gentleman from the agency stepped on. Feeling bold, the actor asked the gentleman if he was the talent agent, Mr. Francis Del Duca. As luck would have it, not only was the stranger Mr. Del Duca, but the agent suggested the actor go audition that minute! They were looking for two actors to play twins in a reenactment show called Missing Reward. The audition went well, but the part called to pair two guys up who looked similar. As Jamie was heading out, he mentioned how his little brother looks just like him. Long before the age of cell phones and internet, they took his word for it and hired the brothers on the spot. The performance was adlibbed. Based on a real story, one of the brothers was killed in a hit-and-run. Jamie and his brother Josh were able to meet the surviving brother, a sad and surreal experience that they will always share. o what draws the actor to a part? “Who the character is and what I feel I can bring to that role.” Mr. McShane has had guest appearances on countless television shows and big-budget films. Some of his most notable parts have been 24, The Nine, Sons of Anarchy, Southland and Murder in the First. He can also be seen in major motion pictures such as Marvel’s The Avengers, Thor and Gone Girl. We discussed his time working on the highly anticipated adaptation of Gillian Flynn’s best seller and meeting fan expectations. He had a great time working with Ben Affleck, having worked with him on Argo, as well as David Fincher. He goes on to >>>

mention the joy he experienced with his co-stars, Kim Dickens and Patrick Fugit. “It’s an amazing feeling to get to work on something that people are psyched to go see before the film has been made; they stayed true to the book and fully developed those twisted characters.” riefly, we touched on what it was like to work with the Oscar winner, Ben Affleck, on two separate projects. The witty actor says, “I’m closer with Ben than he is with Matt Damon…no just kidding.” He enjoyed his time working with the polarizing actor and would love to work with him again. Marvel’s Avengers is a multi-million dollar franchise that has a cult-like following. While taking his boys to school, after the movie came out, a kid ran up to him. Gleaming and full of excitement he said, “I saw you at the movie theater, you were in The Avengers, and you had your hat!” “It’s always wonderful to get any work, but that was incredible.” Humbled by the experience, he imagines it must have been just as amazing for the stars of Star Wars or Harry Potter. We spent some time discussing Jamie’s time on the Golden Globe-winning and Emmynominated hit show, Sons of Anarchy. His role as Cameron Hayes was a huge part for the actor. He recently caught up with the cast at the series wrap party. Although the ending was brutal, he was glad to see Jax, the main character, go out on his terms. Which brings us to his newest project, Netflix’s Bloodline. The show, set against the beautiful back drop of the Florida Keys, follows the Rayburn family. Starring Kyle Chandler, Linda Cardellini and our friend Jamie McShane, this gritty new tale is not your typical family drama. “Eric O’Bannon is a fun >>>

kind of rascal to play…He skates on the edge of the law and is devoted to Danny Rayburn, played by Ben Mendlesohn.” With an intriguing cast, family secrets, and plot twists, we look forward to bingewatching this promising new show.

watching movies or documentaries. He has been reading The Paris Wife by Paula McLain, about Hemingway’s first wife, having taken and interest in the author and journalist after filming in the Florida Keys.

Our conversation turned to recent comments by Patricia Arquette, during the 87th Academy Awards. We asked Jamie what could be done to bridge the salary gap between the sexes. “Pay them equally, but Hollywood tends to pay by whom they deem will draw the biggest fan base.” This ongoing issue will continue to plague the industry.

Mr. McShane supports Tennis for Tots, a gentle and fun introduction to tennis, by playing in charity tournaments. He hopes to get more involved in the Christine O’Reilly Children’s Foundation. This non-profit organization raises money for children who need medical care that their families can’t afford. Christine was a tennis pro and a triplet whom Jamie dated in the early 90’s. She tragically died in a car crash in 1993. Truly a genuine and wonderful person, “Her life and death have both had an enormous impact on my life.”

o many shows are canceled by networks before having an opportunity to build a substantial fan base. The actor thinks combatting this long time trend requires a ballsy network like Netflix. They seem to latch on to projects they believe in and then shoot a full season rather than just shooting a pilot and waiting to see how a test audience responds. “I think it comes down to having the suits hiring the creatives they believe in and letting that talent do what they do rather than stifling them.” Gene Hackman, Steve McQueen, Spencer Tracy, Alan Alda, and Clint Eastwood are all very inspiring to Jamie. Blown away by Mark Ruffalo’s range, he also appreciates the classics such as Braveheart, To Kill a Mockingbird, Josie Whales, French Connection, Caddyshack, Miracle, and, of course, Robin Hood. Jamie currently resides in Los Angeles, with his two boys, Luke and Liam. He lives with his girlfriend Heather, who also has two boys, Jackson and Charlie. “It’s crazy when we have all four boys who are so close in age.” He likes to spend his down time laying on the couch with his girlfriend

You can find the talented actor currently working on a number of projects. Apart from Bloodline, he has a recurring role as Coroner Justin Burnside in TNT’s Murder in the First. You can also find him in a film called Fifty to One about the horse called Mind That Bird, who won the 2009 Kentucky Derby. “It’s an amazing underdog story, where Bird was over eight lengths behind the rest of the field before he turned it on and won.” hen we asked the actor what grounded him, his answer was his girlfriend Heather. “Sometimes my kids ground me but other times they send me to the moon.” Struggling with everyday life keeps him humbled and so does looking in the mirror with countless shows and movies on his resume, we will always be grateful for this modern-day Robin Hood, who gives of himself with substantial talent, consistent drive, and humility.

Founder of GLAMFIT, she introduces an elegant feminine fitness physique. As a global inspiration to aspiring models, both in fashion and fitness, Amrit is honoured to serve as a role model to the next generation of upcoming talent. Asked in an interview how she got started on this road, Amrit replied: “Every girl wants to be a rich, famous movie star when they are young. We’ve all dressed up, had tea parties, and dreamt of living in a

mansion. As we grow up those fantasies can disappear with the pressures and challenges of real life, but that little girl inside me never went away and continued to ignite my passion. In High School and University, I was very fashion conscious, but didn’t care much for working out. Youth was on my side and fashion was my passion! Having worked as a Cosmetologist, I was constantly working with models on creative shows and being part of something so beautiful, so incredible, gave me butterflies. I loved being part of it all. I had found my calling.” mrit’s first professional photoshoot was with the iconic Canadian photographer Raphael Mazzucco, whose photographs have appeared on the cover of three Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issues, and in coffee table books for Victoria’s Secret and Sean Combs. Mazzucco has a signature style, photographing models very close-up, revealing all angles of their beauty. His talent has taken him around the world, shooting campaigns for Guess and Calvin Klein, featuring supermodels like Veronica Vařeková, Elle Macpherson, Rebecca Romijn, Rachel Hunter, Daniela Pestova, Elsa Benitez, Carolyn Murphy, and Yamila Diaz. Amrit shares her early roots in modeling and fitness: “Each shoot has been truly magical. I was solidly immersed in the world of glamour, that I didn’t grasp the value of how fitness and health played a role in how I looked and felt; but the world had a funny way of kicking me in the butt and reminded me that something is missing in my life.” This became my reality when I was bed-ridden from a nasty fall on a slippery sidewalk. a modeling career that had come to a screeching halt. As a part of my rehabilitation, I spent time power-lifting and learned about the science and value of fitness. “I had my first fitness “Aha” moment when I tried on a dress for one of my photo shoots. I couldn’t believe how much better it fit! I was looking stronger, more confident, and vibrant. It was after this painful experience that I realized that fashion and fitness are not mutually exclusive. They are complementary if not interdependent.” Inspired by sports and fitness, she now choices to create a business model that bridges seemingly separate spectrums of human experience. Always

oung Hollywood’s Artist to Watch, Devin K wants to ask you a simple question, “Do I, as an artist make you want to move?” The short answer is a resounding, YES. Most spent some time getting to know this blue eyed, fresh new talent and we are more than confident you will also want to move. You can find his smooth and sexy new single and video “Move” on his website at, officialdevink.com, Itunes and Google Play. We talked to Devin about his early years in Long Beach California (LBC). He is infatuated with the vibe, passion, inspiration, and artistry that growing up in the LBC provides. It is the perfect blend of competitive, artistic, real culture and talents. The upscale neighborhoods are two blocks from the ghetto, which brings everybody together as a community in a “family” sort of way, regardless of your economic status. Status is irrelevant when you are all five minutes from the beach and one block away from an open mic or Mexican food. His parents have always been beyond encouraging with everything he does in life. They have helped to instill a work ethic that he could not imagine finding without them. Devin K plays by ear the majority of the time. “Not to say that reading music is not important but I just prefer to vibe and write.” His father, who taught him to play guitar, encouraged Devin to write and play off a feeling rather than teach him to write and play in a more technical fashion. He grew up listening to Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder and the Beatles, finding them truly

innovative in their art. “They inspire me to stray from the norm and create music that is fresh, new and me.” While in high school he played in the garage bands, Sometime Tomorrow and Heart in Hand. Devin laughs at the mention of his old school musical buddies. They were able to turn their hobby of jamming in the garage into a pretty big show. “We were just some hood rats in Long Beach and ended up selling out almost every show, which was pretty crazy.” We discussed the dynamics between playing in a band where a collaborative effort is made to create a unique sound versus that of a solo artist. Stylistically, he prefers to stay in his own lane if you will. Being in a band just doesn’t make sense to the soul singer. “Forcing a group of musicians to play and write my style and my style only would most likely not translate as being genuine.” Immediately following high school, Devin K left home to play for The Red Bulls, a national soccer team. He played stopper, which is essentially an attacking defender. “Signing to a professional soccer team at such a young age forced me to grow up fast.” Not to say that he feels mature, rather he is a work in progress. This experience taught him the necessity of confidence, a hard work ethic, and how to carry himself with professionalism. Leaving the game was an inevitability; “Soccer is something that I am good at, but music is who I am.” Always bringing a guitar or ukulele on the road, he found himself putting 50% into soccer and 50% into music. Recognizing the need to make a choice, he decided to put 100% of his efforts into >>>

the easy choice, music. In 2012, Devin made his way to Los Angeles to pursue his dreams, realizing “the music wins every time!” hen talking to the singer-songwriter about creating music, we begin to see just how spontaneous and effortless his creative process is. “I don’t necessarily have a constant method to my madness.” Whether it’s a lyric, he can’t let go of or a beat or guitar riff that he has to lay down as soon as possible. He finds inspiration from the same situations that most do…e.g. love, pain, home, big booties, and blessings. He never feels more inspired than when he listens to Sam Cooke, Lauryn Hill, Nate Dogg, Stevie Wonder, Snoop, JT, Robin Thicke, and the list goes on. Is it just us or are you stuck on his appreciation for “big booties?” If there were the opportunity to collaborate with other artists, Devin’s list would be filled with musical giants Lauryn Hill, Big Sean, Drake, and J Cole. These musicians are all beyond genuine, talented, and relatable. “I feel like collabing with any of these artists would be a recipe for something the world has never heard before.” It would be a genuine mix of soul, pop and hip hop. When our discussion turns to an industry that has a clear idea of what sells versus the authentic sound an artist wants to convey, he is quick to support the process. The label side of the music business has a great deal of experience as to what “formula“ works for them. Looking for the fastest dollar or one hit wonder in this business is not what music is about. “If the music is there, the dollar will follow; longevity is the goal.”

We asked the artist what he says to those people who will undoubtedly try to compare him to other artists. He mentions the musical lane he is creating for himself. “We now live in a genre-less world, and I think if I stay true to who I am as a person and as an artist, then there won’t be any room for comparisons.” In an effort to expand his brand, he has been cross-promoting his music with movies, clothing and commercial products. Devin is eager to see if the sky can limit where he wants to go. So what keeps this artist grounded, humbled, motivated and hungry, “God, love, family, and Chipotle.” His appreciation for Mexican food is not lost on us. As our time with this remarkable young talent to watch, comes to an end, we ask him what music means to him. “Music is a beautiful escape from reality, when music is on, the world is off.” Finding ourselves lost in this parallel world, we cannot help but feel compelled to “Move” to the rhythm that is Devin K.

Devin K plays by ear the majority of the time. “Not to say that reading music is not important but I just prefer to vibe and write.” His father, who taught him to play guitar, encouraged Devin to write and play off a feeling rather than teach him to write and play in a more technical fashion.”

“I have to say acting has always been what I have always wanted to do. I’ve loved it since I was a kid because it was all fantasy and imagination.” Fortunately for Daniella Alonso, the Puerto Rican beauty hailing from New York, she grew up to fulfill her wish and is now a leading actress in Hollywood. Daniella started her career as a model and commercial actress and transitioned into acting, landing roles in many major television shows and a few movies. Used to being cast as a bit of a tough chic, Daniella exudes confidence in every role and is captivating on screen. Though she may have hit it big, she makes it very clear in her interview with Fashion MOST that she never forgets where she came from and to her, family is paramount.

It seems she has an especially close relationship with her grandfather, still attributing the most amazing date she has ever been on to when she was nine years old and her grandfather took her to Coney Island and then City Island for dinner. “I loved him so much and to have that alone time with one of the most incredible and hysterical characters to ever live was priceless and a day I will never forget!” Raised by her grandparents and great grandmother in New York City, Daniella learned the importance of family and what a huge impact a loving, supportive family network has. She reveals that the hardest thing she has ever done is moving away from her family in NYC. “I grew up with a huge, very tight-knit family where

my uncles and aunts and cousins were like second mothers and fathers and siblings. Leaving this incredibly loving and supportive family to come to LA on my own without knowing a single person was extremely difficult.” She obviously made it work though, and her determination paid off. Since moving to LA she has landed recurring roles in multiple television shows including Rizzoli and Isles, Covert Affairs, and the role of Carlotta on NBC’s critically-acclaimed television series Friday Night Lights. However, Daniella is still best known for her role as Anna Taggaro on the popular The CW series One Tree Hill and her lead roles in the movies, The Hills Have Eyes 2 and Wrong Turn 2: Dead End. It’s not auditioning for these roles though that makes Daniella nervous these days but rather, “I’m nervous every day because I am a New Yorker who has to drive in LA every day!” She tells us that she does not really have a routine or method for preparing for a day’s shoot as each day always brings something new with new people and scenarios that happen on set. “I’ve come to realize that what works best for me is to come in open and ready for anything. If I come to set prepared having done all my work beforehand, I feel open and free to let it all go and trust that the preparation is all there and then I can play.” Like play is how she makes her work look, effortless and so real, obviously the ultimate goal of any actor. Most recently, as Dr. Landry de La Cruz in season one of NBC’s The Night Shift, Daniella divulges that, “the most interesting aspect of playing that role was infusing comedy with drama. I’ve usually just worked on straight up dramas so this was an incredible opportunity to grow and work on the comedy muscle-challenging for sure but so >>>

much fun!” It was her other show, Revolution where Daniella says she also loved getting out of her comfort zone and now misses it. “Revolution spoiled me because every day was a different adventure!” Maybe one day she will get to try something really new and portray her dream role, “I have always loved the character of May in Fool For Love, the Sam Shepard play.” However, Daniella probably does not have to worry about ever lacking in interesting things to do or opportunities for growth and challenges, as the remarkable, multi-talented star has a slew of other passions and hobbies. She holds a green belt in karate, “I have thankfully never had to use my karate skills in a real life situation. I do still train but not as regularly. I have now become addicted to Pilates.” Karate probably helps in the badass department though and in getting those military, tough chic type roles. She may be able to portray those characters but inside she is a softie and has a weak spot and great affection for all animals, hence her devotion to PETA. Again, it was her grandfather who influenced her as he was a huge animal lover and instilled that love and care for animals in her and her family. “I grew up with cats, dogs, ferrets, fish, mice, turtles, and ducks. You name it! We at some point probably had it. Growing up no matter who I was with in my family, if there was a stray on the road, you’d stop pick it up and find it a home. I could never imagine my life without my animals.” In addition to karate, Pilates, and animals, Daniella loves to write in her spare time and keeps a regular journal, disclosing that it may be more than just a hobby. “My sister and I have been working on a screenplay about our Puerto Rican Family that spans a few >>>

decades. It has really been such an incredible experience for many reasons. But we’ll see what happens…” With a lot of family still in Puerto Rico and summer vacations there growing up, the country is definitely in her blood and she would have good reason to write about the people there. Reminiscing, Daniella says, “I absolutely have a strong connection to PR. I have so many fond memories there especially with my grandfather like, swimming in small beaches that felt like our own private beach, stopping by the side of the road to eat sugar cane, walking through Old San Juan, or exploring the caves. It was such an amazing time. I love PR.” Always glowing on the red carpet, we had to ask Daniella who her go-to designers are. She divulges that there are a few designers that she knows she can count on always that aren’t astronomical: Helmut Lang, Michael Kors, DVF, Marc Jacobs, Milly, Tibi, and Phillip Lim. But what does a model truly find herself wearing the most? For Daniella it would have to be jeans and heels, “5 inches and above!” Whether it’s a screenplay with her sister, or her future dream role as May, or wherever she chooses to put her skills to use next, it’s sure that Daniella will sparkle in all her projects, as she is certainly not afraid to try new things. “If I were immortal for a day I would do as many crazy things as I could...swim to the bottom of the ocean, jump out of the highest plane or building ala Matrix just try to feel and explore as many situations as I possibly could to then store them in my memory bank.”

uest starring in multiple Baywatch episodes by the time she was nine, Taylor-Ann Hasselhoff’s life may seem anything but ordinary. However, Taylor-Ann views her childhood as pretty normal; no one in her community or at her private school looked at her any differently because her father was David Hasselhoff. Even though she would go to the beach every day after school to watch her dad film as the star of Baywatch, Taylor-Ann did not realize her life was different from anyone else’s. It was when she attended summer camp that she came to find that people would want to be friends with her because of her father’s celebrity. She then realized she had to be more careful about who she brought into her close circle. This challenge has continued throughout her life as she has learned that it is hard to trust people. In the entertainment industry, it is difficult to know what people’s real motives are, and she has learned that she “cannot always be so open with everyone.” Growing up in entertainment industry has provided Taylor-Ann with many significant experiences. She has seen the amount of devotion required to be a writer, producer, singer, and actor. She has seen the amount of devotion required to be a writer, producer, singer, and actor. Witnessing the work and dedication needed to work in the business has given her the platform to dive into whichever field she chooses. Her father knew many talented people who were able to give Taylor the best advice and the kind of hands-on learning that she would not have been able to receive if she had not been brought up in the industry.

In 2010 Taylor and her sister, Hayley, made their debut into the music industry as Bella Vida. Both sisters love to sing and write music and hold an active bond over electronic dance music (EDM). Setting aside the concern of their voices meshing well, they moved forward with dedication. The first song Taylor and Hayley worked on together was called “Turn Up the Radio” and when they heard the finished version they knew their collaboration would be a success. The following year, TaylorAnn and Hayley released another single, “Kiss Kiss Me Bang Bang” under their new label while establishing themselves as legitimate artists in the EDM scene. After the success of “Turn Up the Radio,” the girls took off on an international tour. In Europe, they played sold out venues. “Touring with your sister is an experience of a lifetime. We were able to fly all over the world to perform in different clubs with our crew of six dancers.” Being able to see different cultures and explore cities Sweden, Switzerland, Germany, and Austria was eyeopening for Taylor-Ann. She emphasizes, “If I could spend the rest of my life exploring the world, I would.” With all the places she has been able to visit; London remains her favorite. She relishes everything, from the locals to the cuisine, and enjoys living the European lifestyle. Today Taylor can be seen conducting interviews for Bellus Magazine. Initially working as a host, one of her first interviews was with actor, Gregg Sulkin from the MTV show, “Faking It”. The creator of Bellus, Joshua Shultz, hit it off with Taylor-Ann from the start, realizing how well they >>>

worked together. Joshua is talented photographer and Taylor has talent in hosting and managing communication. Within a few months, Taylor became managing editor, overseeing all editors working at Bellus, ensuring stories meet their deadlines, and looking for future stories to cover. ith so many projects going on at once, Taylor-Ann is living her life day by day. After a workout in the morning, Taylor-Ann starts her day by opening up her email and looking through the stories that the edi-tors gave her. Then she will write down notes and work to post a story to the online magazine at www.bellusmagazine.com. Some days she will work from home, but others will be more hands on where she will go interview talent or cover a

story out on location. Taylor-Ann has so much on her plate yet she is “always thinking of new stories and ideas to share that are inspiring and different. We always want to give our audience diversity; we cover everything from music and TV, to health and beauty, art, culture, and philanthropy projects. Since her beginning at Bellus, Taylor-Ann is now President of the magazine and is looking to expand their editors internationally, in order to cover stories around the world. Taylor-Ann has interviewed countless individuals for Bellus Magazine, including Gregg Sulkin, Witney Carson, and Cassie Steele, and admits when conducting an interview, she always finds out something interesting. She especially enjoys interviewing people who run charities, “I >>>

find it so fascinating to learn how a foundation got started and where it is today.” One of her favorite interviews was with the Pacific Marine Mammal Center because of the sea lions that have been rescued and rehabilitated. The organization works to keep animals healthy while ensuring they do not become dependent on humans for food. She has complete respect for the work of the PMMC. aylor-Ann is an undeniable advocate for people of all ages to follow their dreams and their passions; that is a primary reason Taylor-Ann decided to go into hosting instead of acting. She has always been driven to tell the stories of others, stories that will inspire other people to follow their dreams. Taylor-Ann can talk with different people for her interviews with Bellus and loves “being able to give insight on different people’s paths because each story is unique in its own right.” She can share

stories about how people got started in whatever profession they are in and how they got there. In these interviews, Taylor-Ann finds it gratifying to open people’s eyes to the paths others have taken. Aside from working as a TV personality, host, and singer Taylor-Ann still devotes herself to volunteering in her community. Charity work has always been important to her family, and it has been something that Taylor-Ann has extended into her adult life. Taylor-Ann’s mom goes to feed the homeless at the LA mission a few times a year, and it has become a ritual for Taylor-Ann to join her every Thanksgiving and Christmas. Seeing the smiles and the appreciation people have after receiving a hot meal is a rewarding experience for her. She also supports other organizations such as The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and the National Mill Dog Rescue. “My family and I are huge animal lovers and I try to volunteer at these different

charities as much as I can.” Taylor-Ann holds a close bond with animals. Her family had fifteen animals when she was born, and one was a pig. She admits that if she were not in the entertainment industry she would be a vet. e asked how she maintains such a close relationship with her father since he is a world class enter-tainer and continuously traveling. Taylor-Ann explained that because she can be fully honest with her dad, it allows her to have a strong relationship with him as both a daughter and a friend. Taylor-Ann considers her biggest influence to be her father; he is a Jack of all trades and always taught TaylorAnn to believe in herself and her passions. She explains, “I have been raised on the motto that if you don’t try you will never know if you are good at something. My father has motivated me to work hard and never give up on my dreams.”

Taylor-Ann decided to start a documentary on her father in order to show the world David Hasselhoff’s driving passions and what it took for him to develop his brand. She was excited to be able to document someone who was able to come back and reinvent himself, better than ever before. The filming process was initially scheduled to take a couple weeks, but when Taylor-Ann realized how interesting and provocative the documentary could be, she decided to extend the filming for six months. Although she did not have any filming experience prior to starting the documentary, Taylor-Ann knew that the best way for her to learn was to grab her Canon and GoPro and take a chance. Taylor-Ann is confident in the notion that, “You will never know if you are good at something until you truly try.” The documentary on David Hasselhoff will hopefully take the festival circuit in 2015.

ecording artist G Sepp credits his musical roots to a house full of women listening to classic R&B. On any given day, his sisters would fill the modest Brooklyn home he grew up in with the sounds of Mary J. Blige, SWV, Boys to Men, R Kelly and Keith Sweat. The hip-hop and rap influences came later and from the male side of his family when his older brother introduced him to a Tupac CD, and then his uncle to Shyne, DMX and The Notorious B.I.G – another Brooklynborn rapper. But even though music was always prevalent in G Sepp’s life, it would not become a serious career choice until much later. G Sepp’s parents, who hail from the Caribbean Islands, both moved to America at a young age. His Trinidadian mother met his Jamaican father stateside. They eventually settled to raise a family in Canarsie, NY, a residential suburb of southeastern Brooklyn nestled along – ironically – Long Island’s Jamaica Bay. This New York borough is where G Sepp would spend the bulk of his early life. Considered temperamental by those he meets, G Sepp is actually quite the opposite. “I think I’m misunderstood mostly. I’m easy to talk to – that is, unless I don’t like you. I mean, you definitely don’t want to get on my bad side. But I’m actually very easygoing. Considering my upbringing, I came out pretty ‘clean.’ When people meet me they never guess what I’ve been through in my life. My father died when I was 12. I left home at 15 and had to

find ways to survive in a very tough neighborhood. But I always tried to carry myself in a clean and positive way and never let people know what I’m thinking. Even if I only had 25 cents in my pocket, no one would ever know by looking at me.” G Sepp’s love of the craft was further inspired by music from late-night, New York recording sessions. “When I was younger, my older brothers and cousins would book studio time at night. They’d bring the music home and I would sit and try to write to it. I’d hum along, jot down lyrics. Stuff like that. But that was about the extent of it. Later, in junior high school I began playing around a little more. I’d beat on the lunchroom tables and rap along. In high school I joined the basketball team and tried that for a while, but it didn’t work out how I planned it. I was distracted by the streets and got caught up in what was happening ‘out there.’ Then one day in a friend’s back yard, his older brother hooked up his Xbox to a big speaker. It had a bunch of instrumentals on it. I sat back and listened. Then I heard this beat and rhymes started coming to my head. So I just started rapping. It felt so natural. And I saw the reactions of my friends. It was an empowering feeling.” It was at age 21 when G Sepp really started taking the music seriously. He began experimenting, and took the music to another level by harmonizing over the beats rather than merely rapping. He could feel the more melodic side from his R&B background, which had sat dormant

for so many years, emerging in his songwriting. He played some local shows, performing at park events and showcases. He hooked up with a few people in the business. Rico Beats (50 Cent, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne) produced some tracks for him, and Mazi O (French Montana, Lil Kim, Wu Tang) directed a video. People were responding and the music was evolving. But something was off. G Sepp was having difficulty and felt he needed a change of scenery. The Brooklyn environment was too distracting and lacked the artistic space he felt he now needed. So at age 25, he relocated to Los Angeles in an effort to solve the problem. It was the right move. Immediately upon his arrival he was inspired and went to work. He hit the studio and began churning out the music – rhyme after rhyme, hook after hook. His focus sharpened and the songs followed. He assembled a team and continued to record. And before he knew it, he had put together body of work genuinely worthy of a debut release – poising him to move into the next phase of his career. Sepp is currently putting the finishing touches on his debut album, set for release this summer. The first single, “Bring It Back Home,” will be released in March and will be followed shortly thereafter by the accompanying video. For more information on G Sepp and his music, please visit: gsepp.com.

irst of all, if you are scratching your head and saying, “Who the hell is Sean Cronin?” then you are A.) not British and B.) about to know who the hell he is. He is an actor from the UK and if you have seen The Mummy and The Mummy Returns, then you have seen him. You can’t swing a dead cat in Britain without hitting one of his films or TV shows, though. And he’s got a role in the upcoming Mission Impossible 5, (which is in post-production) so rest assured, my fellow ‘Muricans, you will be seeing more of him. We’ll discuss his upcoming and just-finished films a little later, but Mr. Cronin is apparently a man of many, many talents. He is much more than a murderous and brooding hunk in films. He also directs, writes, and produces. “I love being both in front [of] and behind the camera,” he says, “but directing and being behind the camera is, in many ways, a much higher calling. I studied cinematography at the New York Film School and learned from one of the great cinematographers of all time, Adrian Biddle. Adrian was the Director of Photography on many amazing films, including several of the ‘Bonds’. Sadly he died in 2005, God rest his soul. He taught me so much on the sets of James Bond and The Mummy without even knowing it. I just sat there quietly and watched him do his magic. I truly believe that if you make every frame a Rembrandt, then you are in with a chance of making memorable cinema.” There have been many strides in technology, as it pertains to cinematography, and Mr. Cronin has borne witness to them for the last 20-plus years. He’s quite astute on the subject of cameras

and editing, as you’d expect of a man of his stature and experience. “The most significant change in technology, as far as cameras are concerned, was the invention of the Red One 4k camera followed by the Arri Alexa, which really changed movie making. Suddenly you could make digital look like film. Nowadays nearly 75% of the films made are shot on very high-resolution digital cameras. The beauty of that is there was no ‘telecine’ required and you can literally edit straightaway, which is made things a lot cheaper and a lot more accessible.” While the characters he plays are probably more likely to ‘shoot to kill’, Sean says, “I usually like to edit the stuff that I shoot because I ‘shoot to edit’ and I understand when I’m directing exactly what I want from a scene.” So now we know Sean Cronin is a cinematography nerd, and maybe just a little bit of control freak. He just finished directing An Unfortunate Woman and it is on the festival circuit. “I definitely was ‘vested’ in it…in fact, it nearly killed me! I shot, directed and edited it and had to hand deliver it to the Cannes Film Festival office in Paris by 9:00 in the morning after working on it all night!! I think short films are very often the ‘stepping stone’ to convincing potential investors that you are able and equipped to make films of a very high standard. Hopefully that, and another film that I recently directed, achieve just that. As far as accessibility, more often than not, once these short films have completed the festival circuit they’re often posted online on channels like YouTube, Vimeo etc. so they can be viewed. But obviously they don’t have chance of making any real money,>>>

so...it’s unlikely that they will be seen by the general public. Having said that, our shorts London Hood and An Unfortunate Woman will be available online very soon.” he films Irongate and Give Them Wings are in pre-production right now. About his colleague and the subject of the latter film, Paul Hodgson, Cronin says, “He is an absolute legend. This man was diagnosed with childhood meningitis at eleven years old and told that he would never speak or move. Since then he has written books, produced award-winning films, and written award-winning screenplays. I was very honored to direct the wonderful period piece written by Paul [the aforementioned and much-lauded An Unfortunate Woman, which has been nominated for no less than eight awards and has won three.] Another amazing thing about Paul is, even though he has been dealt such a terrible hand of cards, he still has the most amazing sense of humor. A couple of examples are when I first met him he said >>>

‘I can’t move much but I can hold a pint.’ There is a true-life scene in Give Them Wings when he ‘pulls’ a girl and he says to her ‘I can make love to you, but you’re going to have to carry me up the stairs.’ I love this man. He is a true inspiration, and I am totally honored to have been asked to direct his life story.” There is also a possibility that, after Irongate is released, they may adapt it for television with a streaming channel like Netflix in mind. As if all the other accomplishments weren’t enough, he has started a company called Magnificent Films, so he’s also an entrepreneur. “I’m working mostly with an absolute genius named Tony Waddington. Tony is the creator and writer and executive producer on Irongate. Tony is an amazing song writer with over 60 number one records across Europe and the world, he wrote songs like “Sugar Baby Love” and many of Tom Jones’s hits, and many more.”

While he is always cast as the villain or the thug, we not too surprisingly find out that Sean Cronin is, in fact, a big ole softie. How do we know? “Okay you’ve got me there, yes, I am a big softie.” That’s how. We asked him. He also has a reputation for being ‘hilarious’. While that doesn’t sound very diabolical at all, he does concede that “I have a very dark sense of humor; anything dark and twisted makes me laugh! Traditionally Spike Milligan, Peter Jay, Monty Python, Dave Allen and Dave Chapelle are among my favorites. Luckily I’m not really a villain, I relax at the end of the day with a very nice glass of expensive Rioja [that’s a wine they make in Spain. I googled that] and hang out with my two little girls. Nowadays, I’m just a movie villain, although back in the day I was a little bit naughty, to say the least!” He is a single dad to Molly (seven) and Georgia (six), which he says, “is singularly the most rewarding thing in my life. Filmmaking comes a ‘very’ close second, though.” Thug life, indeed.

She has since been published in many international magazines including Asian Bride Magazine and Elate Lab Magazine, and collaborated with both Cake4u and the Italian print/textile company, Alcantara. www.facebook.com/lakeca

ashion tells us a story about the person wearing it, but for the beholder, a crown or headdress can elevate both the fashion and the wearer to an exalted or even mythic level. In modern times, we don’t see as much of this overt symbolism around us, yet we still refer to leaders as “heads” of state. The double meaning of this term still resonates and connects us with the older tradition of crowning our leaders and deities to bestowing them with esteem and reverence above our own. In this shoot, our team explored the transformation within a photo shoot that crowns can make to our interpretation of the image of the fashion and the model. While the wearing of the crown symbolically elevates the mundane, it also personifies the ineffable. The mythic imagery of the crown complemented the design and ultimately inspired the styling for our shoot, but as symbol does, took on a life of its own. As we progressed and began to review the photos that we captured, we all began to look beneath the images to see the symbols they evoked and the story that spoke to us. This became for us a visual tale of winter through personifying some of its familiar aspects. Our white tree gown with the crystal-draped twig crown was intended to represent the serenity of winter as embodied in the image of one of the Dryades, spirits of the forest in Greek mythology. >>>

Seated with eyes downcast forlornly in her gown of branches and crown of red winter berries and frost-covered twigs is Demeter, mourning the passage of her daughter into Hades’ realm, and through her melancholy, causes the coming of winter. Standing inscrutably behind her mask of shadows and sheathed in black lace is Nyx, primordial goddess of the night in her ascendance as darkness begins to encroach on the winter months. Seated on her throne and holding her crown with an expression reflecting both reluctance and resolution is Persephone, daughter of Demeter, wife of Hades, and queen of the underworld during the winter while the earth sleeps and awaits her return. Standing in her snowflake crown and her diaphanous snow dress is Chione, the goddess of snow and daughter of Boreas, god of the cold north wind of winter. Crouching in her crown of stars and ethereal white dress is Hemera, goddess of the day, smiling in the knowledge that, just as the winter and darkness are preordained by the heavens, so is her ascendancy once again. This editorial would not have been possible without the collaboration and partnership of a team of talented and creative artists. Gregory Rodriguez performed miracles as our hair stylist, and Damien Vasquez, a frequent creative partner for us, delivered the dramatic makeup that we envisioned. Holly Cue provided us access to her studio and excellent guidance as our photo stylist. Our wonderful model, Jessica Lucido, breathed life into the ideas we brought to this shoot. Magan Ashleigh Brown provided patient and enthusiastic attention to detail as our fashion stylist. Finally, none of this would have been possible without the creative energy of the fashion designer for this shoot, Faith McGary-Sepcic, my Muse and love.

By: Darcy Tharp orn in a small village in the province of Gelderland, The Netherlands, twenty year old model Danique Henzen takes great pleasure in helping people and combining her passion for modeling with caring for others. Growing up she spent almost every day with animals and nurturing the most pathetic ones which she often took home to care for. Back then, her greatest wish was to take care of these animals in animal shelters worldwide. However, at the age of eighteen a model scout approached her about doing a shoot at the shelter. “That first shoot I did the best I could and hoped that I looked good on camera. The results where great and with the support of my parents I started to accept some more modeling work.” Danique has since gained more and more satisfaction and confidence and honed her skills by doing different kinds of shoots and working with creative people that share her same passion. She has done some great editorials and been an exclusive model for a new clothing line. In addition to modeling, Danique has started to work with mentally disabled people and reveals that the combination brings her great joy and a way to express her emotions. “I hope the future will give me the possibility to extend my skills and perhaps combine them to have more and more fun.”
