hristian Larson grew up drumming, dancing, and filming skateboarding in Sweden, and it was this background that helped carve his reputation of a rhythmic visual style. Starting out making music promos, he went on to become an editor for renowned Swedish director Jonas Åkerlund on various projects such as the HBO concert film ON THE RUN featuring Beyoncé & Jay-Z. Other editing works include: music videos and commercials for Daft Punk, Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Duran Duran, Mercedes and Dior as well as the feature film Small Apartments starring Matt Lucas and Billy Crystal. As a director, Christian’s work includes music videos for Sigur Rós, Kylie Minogue, Tinie Tempah and Swedish House Mafia, as well as commercials and editorials for Rimmel London, ID Magazine, Wallpaper Magazine, Absolut Vodka and Agent Provocateur. In 2010 he made the documentary Take One that reached cult status in the electronic dance music world, dubbed “Spinal Tap for the acid house generation” by The Times UK. In 2012 he wrote and directed Valtari, a short film with music from the Icelandic band Sigur Rós and choreography from world renowned choreographer Sidi Larbi Cherkoui. The film received numerous nominations and was awarded a Grammy for Best Video at the 2013 Swedish Grammy Awards as well as Best Choreography at the 2013 UK Music Video Awards. Christian’s directing projects have reached over 300 million views in total on YouTube.

FMM: You started early with music and filming, at what age did you transition into photography and did you enjoy it more or less? CL: Photography has always been there on the side as a hobby. Then I started to do more and more photography on film-shoots, and now I love doing both simultaneously.
FMM: You have been awarded a Grammy for Best Video at the 2013 Swedish Grammy Awards as well as Best Choreography at the 2013 UK Music Video Awards, are you content or do you desire more? CL: Awards are fun and do work as a reward for hard work, but you can’t work only for that. If they come they come.
FMM: How do you define your style of photography? CL: I think of my photographs like they were stills from films. So I suppose my style could be described as cinematic. I like to set a scene with my shots.
FMM: What was the most significant visual moment in your life? CL: For me it was when I bought my first DV camera and first experienced the editing process. When I understood that I could play with music, sound, and images together, on the tip of my fingers, I was hooked.
FMM: Who were your early photographic and nonphotographic influences? CL: In photography, Helmut Newton was of course an important inspiration, but also more documentary photographers such as Larry Clark. For film, a big inspiration has been Alejandro Gonzales Irratu. FMM: What’s the thing that interests you most about photography? CL: It’s to make an image tell a story, either as a scene or through the person in the frame. It’s always the challenge for me. FMM: Do you film all of your shooting projects at the same time or do they each involve a different session and process? CL: Usually I try and do it together to get to use the same light. FMM: How much equipment do you typically bring to a photo-shoot? CL: If it’s film and photo combined, it usually ends up being quite a setup. But for photographs only, I love to shoot natural. I may use a reflector, but that’s it, and then I try and plan for great light and background instead. FMM: Where do you get your inspiration from? CL: Traveling and movies-I always travel.

FMM: Of all the images you’ve made so far in your career, do you have an absolute favorite and why? CL: That always changes, but at the moment I’m loving the shot of Ashley Smith waiting for her clothes to get ironed from the twins in the AP shoot. FMM: What’s the most important thing you want potential clients to know about you? CL: That I always go the extra mile to make the project my best so far. FMM: What projects are you working on now? CL: At the moment I’ve been shooting a short film for a, ”use a condom campaign” in Scandinavia. It’s been great fun. FMM: Tell us a little about your upcoming projects? CL: At the moment I’m prepping a music video to be shot in a huge forest that just burnt down. The whole area is completely black from coal and ash, but the trees still stand. It’s very dangerous to be there, but we’re shooting next weekend, and I think it’s going to look great. I love challenges like that.

riss Logan is a Paris based freelance photographer. Born in Avignon, she obtained a degree in applied arts, then followed a one year course of “Atelier Photographiques� in Arles and shortly afterwards she settled in Paris. As an assistant to several renowned Paris based photographers, she continually improves her skills and broadens her knowledge in fashion, culinary, architectural, and portrait photography. Today, Kriss Logan makes it a point of honor to do her work with the same enthusiasm and curiosity as if it were still day one. The portrait, culinary, macro, and fashion photography remain her favorite areas. The artist within her is eager to capture the essence of each person or object located in front of her lens, and she also likes to enjoy those sharing or creativity moments that everyday life brings.

By Darcy Tharp orn in the Czech Republic, Fel Cassieli lived in Prague since she was a little girl and by high school she realized that she wanted to become a model. The one problem being that she did not have the support right away to make her dream come true, “my schoolmates thought I was not really pretty at all, my parents laughed at me when I said what I wanted to do, and my boyfriend told me to come back down to earth so I don’t get disappointed.” She left the idea behind and developed her other passion of cooking, inspired by her father who is a chef and brought the family with him on his travels. She got her lucky break one day when she was scouted on the street by a photographer who told her to stop by his studio the next day to do a test shoot. “I was so happy but so much less confident to share my happiness with others...I went to the studio, we did a test shoot and when we finished the photographer booked me for a job! I remember it was just a small catalogue job but I was super happy.” Since then Cassieli has been working hard learning and enjoying the opportunity to do what she is passionate about. “So let’s say I am living my dream at the moment... It’s best to do in your life what you really like.” In addition to modeling, Cassieli decided to study again (nutrition and healthy living) and plans to be back studying in New York next year. She loves to cook and dreams of opening a small restaurant in NYC one day. She also has a passion for lingerie and has a brand called Fels Guilty Pleasures and hopes the first lingerie collection will come out soon followed by her own t-shirts collection and a perfume.

4 DAYS IN THE EXUMAS DAY 1:
Your charter begins in Nassau, Paradise Island, which is easily serviced by commercial and private flights. Arrive a day before to take advantage of the local boutiques and the nightlife at the Atlantis resort and casino, or fly in the day of your charter to be met by your crew at the airport and whisked to your awaiting yacht for a refreshing welcome cocktail marking the beginning of a fabulous getaway. Relax as your yacht embarks on a picturesque cruise toward the Exuma island chain. Lunch will be served al fresco on the aft deck at the secluded Allen’s Cay, a national park only accessible by boat, where you’ll likely spot one of the large, indigenous and endangered rock iguanas. After a quick dip in the warm turquoise waters, the cruise continues to Highbourne Cay, known as the gateway to the Exumas. Anchored out in Horseshoe Bay, which features a beautiful deserted beach and fabulous reef, you can also explore the nearby Exuma Sound, which offers amazing dive sites and fishing. Tour around the charming marina by tender and watch nurse sharks congregate, or head ashore to relax in beach hammocks as the sun sets.
DAY 2
Depart early this morning – after a sunrise swim or beach walk, of course – for the highly rated Hammerhead Gulch, for a drift dive or a bit of snorkeling. After a satisfying lunch of local conch salad, your yacht will set off for a world of adventure and intrigue with a visit to Norman’s Cay. This island once served as the bustling headquarters for the famed Carlos Lehder’s cocaine smuggling operation, but today enjoys a quieter life with incredible bays, stunning beaches, lagoons and spectacular views. Fishing enthusiasts can take to the water today, while beach lovers can tender to Twinkie Beach, a charming beach littered with sea shells and highlighted by a lone palm tree. A snorkel amidst the infamous partially submerged wreck of a drug smuggling Curtiss C-46 Commando is a must. Guests may also try their hand at spearfishing or hire a local flats bonefishing guide. Late in the afternoon, tender around the island to visit Norman’s Cay Beach Club, formerly known as McDuff’s, for a burger, cocktail and island stories as the sun sets.

DAY 3
The old pirate’s hideaway of Warderick Wells is the destination of the morning. Serving as the headquarters of the Exumas Land and Sea Park, due to its wide variety of naturally occurring ecosystems, Warderick Wells is home to the skeleton of a 53-foot sperm whale and over 7 miles of hiking trails. Hike Boo Boo hill for scenic vistas and driftwood souvenirs left by visitors before you, or explore the beaches and reefs that provide for fabulous snorkeling. To the south is Pirate’s Lair, a hidden anchorage accessible via a longer day hike or tender ride. In the afternoon, cruise south to the Rocky Dundas, two high cays featuring interior caves that provide an exceptional snorkeling experiences. Nearby is the north end of Compass Cay, home to a famous natural whirlpool known as Rachel’s Bubble Bath. Affected by the tide, this pool can either be a bubbling bath or a flat lagoon. Continue on through the inviting shallow waters of Pipe Creek to Big Major’s Spot, where you may be treated to a welcome by the famous swimming pigs.
DAY 4
Enjoy breakfast while underway to Staniel Cay and the Thunderball Grotto this morning. Featured in the James Bond films Thunderball and Never Say Never Again, the cave can be accessed via snorkel and, once inside, features breathtakingly colorful corals that shimmer in the light. Fishing enthusiasts can get in one final morning on the water, whether bone, reef or deep-sea fishing. After a lovely al fresco luncheon and one last swim, you’ll be transferred to the small island airstrip in Staniel Cay or Black Point for a scenic return flight home.

By Darcy Tharp t only twenty-three years old, Agnes Liong has been a model for five years and already has an impressive list of titles under her belt: Miss San Francisco Beauties of The Nation 2013, Miss Germany International, and United States Miss as well as 2nd Princess and Miss Entrepreneur for Miss Vietnam of Northern California Intercollegiate. She is an interesting mix of Chinese German and speaks three languages fluently. Graduating with honors and Magna Cum Laude standing from California State University East Bay in finance and marketing, she not only continued her successful modeling career but became a financial advisor for Merrill Edge and created her own anti-bullying campaign, “Stand Up 2 Bullying,” dedicated to educate schools on how to prevent bullying with the mission to create future leaders that will stand up for others. Bullied as a young child due to her appearance and petite frame, she says she never felt beautiful, yet she overcame her fear of rejection, persevered, and has had the opportunity to work with numerous designers and brands such as: Paul Mitchell, Oribe Hair Care, SkinFood Cosmetics, and Viet Beauty Magazine. She says that she still faces a lot of rejections due to her height, and has a dream to change the modeling and fashion industry, so that everyone regardless of height and shape can pursue their dream and feel beautiful. “I feel that we as models have the responsibility to celebrate each other’s differences and flaws-everyone is beautiful and unique in their own way. How boring and monotone would the world be if everyone were perfect?”

FMM: What made you first want to become a model? AL: When I was a little girl I was bullied for my appearance and from that moment on, I told myself to show the world that beauty comes from within, regardless of your skin color or physical appearance. Although I still face a lot of rejections due to my height, I never give up believing in my dreams to inspire others to always believe in and cherish themselves! FMM: How do you manage to do it all and stay focused? (Model, Finance, Volunteer, Creator) AL: I believe it’s all about time management and prioritizing. First, I make a list of things that I want to accomplish (in the order of their importance). Then I make daily, weekly, and monthly goals and the actions required to achieve those. At the end of the month, I review my goals so I can see, “Have I achieved my goals?” “What went wrong?” “What went well?” Then, I learn from my mistakes and improve that for my next month’s goals. Persistence and being detail oriented are very crucial characteristics in being effective at multi-tasking. FMM: Who inspires you the most? AL: My grandmother inspired me the most. She never gave up on her dreams and always had a big heart to help others no matter how difficult her circumstances were. During her battle with cancer, she still pursued her careers in singing and volunteer teaching. Unfortunately, she didn’t get her big break, and that is why I am determined and passionate to continue her journey and fulfill her dreams. I remember her last words, “Never let the fear and underestimation from others hold you back from unleashing your fullest potential.” So since then, I always tell myself for every three no’s I will get three yes’s! Thanks Grandma! FMM: Do you exercise regularly and do you have any special diets or exercising regimes? AL: Yes! I am a pescatarian (I only eat seafood

and veggies, and I don’t eat meat). I also don’t eat fried or fast food. After eating a ‘guilty pleasure’, my body just shuts down so I have learned to not cheat with bad foods! However, I cannot resist desserts! My favorite is Asian-style shaved ice; I can’t hold back on those! I exercise regularly for one hour each day, seven days a week. I alternate between HIIT Cardio and Hip Hop Abs. I don’t like the gym; it’s too boring for me! I have to move to the beat and be able to perform different moves. FMM: You have dealt with rejections in the fashion industry due to your height and are working to change the industry standards. Have you seen any shifts yet and believe that you are making a difference? AL: Yes, I have dealt with numerous rejections from agencies just because I am not 5 feet 8 inches tall. Most ‘normal’ women are not as tall and skinny as runway models, so I don’t see why designers design clothes for the minority of people? Also, I feel like a lot of young women are looking up to models for inspiration, so we have the extra responsibility to show them that it is alright to have flaws; that’s what’s makes you a unique you. Sadly, I have not seen any changes yet. I applied to agencies in Asia as well, and you might think that because the women there are a bit shorter on average, they are looking for more petite models, but I was wrong; they still are looking for 5’8,” minimum. I am trying to make a difference by still applying to various agencies around the globe with the hope that one will pick me for my portfolio and passion and not for my height. And when that day comes, I am sure that I can start revolutionizing the modeling and fashion industry! FMM: Do you enjoy pageants or photo shoots more? What is your favorite show or shoot you have ever done? AL: I enjoy photo shoots more to be honest, because I have competed in several pageants
before, and politics, money, and power usually comes into play rather than true beauty and intelligence. I find it unfortunate that it has to be that way, because I feel that the face of the organization should represent the vision and mission of pageants, which is using your beauty, intelligence, and passion to help others rather than using money and power to make a difference. At least with photo shoots, I know that I am true to myself and my finished photos are the result of the hard work of my team and me. Plus you get to be different characters, and that is always fun! FMM: What do you love most about fashion and make-up? AL: I love that you can experiment with fashion and make-up, and it’s like a feminine science! I feel that fashion and make-up enable people to rediscover themselves as well as express their voice and personality in their unique ways, but the drawback is that it makes you spend more money. FMM: If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live? AL: Southeast Asia-that is where most of my family lives. I was born and raised there, and I truly miss it. All of my memories were created and

planted there, and my history there has shaped me into becoming the person I am today. Plus, in Indonesia you have personal maids and drivers for an inexpensive cost so that definitely helps after coming home from a long day of work. Also everything there is ten times cheaper and food is always open 24 hours a day-HEAVEN! >>>

FMM: Secret yearnings/weaknesses? AL: My secret weaknesses are shopping and food! What woman doesn’t have that disease? But seriously, my biggest weakness is sometimes I feel like I am not doing enough to reach my dreams and make my grandmother proud. Sometimes, I get angry or disrespectful messages from fans and that really breaks my heart. I ask myself, “What did I do wrong?” But then I remember my grandmother saying to never let anyone’s disapproval or underestimation stop you from fully reaching your potential. So after one day, my mind and soul are fully recharged, and I am ready to make a difference again! FMM: What does the future hold for you? AL: I am in the process of recording my first music album, so stay tuned! Singing has always been my passion, not only because I want to fulfill my grandmother’s dreams, but it also enables me to express my story, feelings, and identity in a true and meaningful way to others. I also love to act, and I always dreamed of playing a superhero character. I think women with weapons and trying to save the world are hot! In the future I hope to create a talent agency, which will sign talents based on their passion and true talent rather than their status or physical characteristics. Lastly, I really hope that I can be a positive role model for others. I hope that my anti-bullying campaign will flourish further and will eventually create a mandatory universal anti-bullying law. I have the vision of creating leaders who will stand up for others and be the voice for the voiceless internationally. I am also currently a sponsor for Child Fund International, and I aspire to establish my own nonprofit organization dedicated to providing nutrition, education, and shelter for the less fortunate. I know it is a lot, but why not aim high? Anything is possible!

By: Rachel Alexandra Greiner orn Jason Taylor, 35 year old Shelby County, MI native Jax seems to be the name on the tip of everyone’s tongue these days. After all, the incredibly handsome, 6’0 tall star has certainly given us enough reasons to take notice. Growing up in what he refers to as a “Suburban, ‘Leave it to Beaver’ type neighborhood” was never really his thing, and he was ready to leave the first chance he got. Since then he’s experienced living in 3 of the busiest and exciting cities in the country: Miami, LA & New York; Though one in particular seemed to win him over. “I loved living in all three places,” he says. “I look at it like this, if modeling and walking runway shows is your thing, then New York is the best place for that; However, LA stole my heart. As I always say, LA is where models/ actors come to die.” However, before becoming the full-blown dream chaser he is today, he did start down more traditional routes as a sports player and serving time in the military, to which he attributes his well-groomed appearance and time management skills. “I played hockey my entire life and even received a few scholarships to play in college, so that was an option, but I knew it wasn’t the right move. Tampa with my parents and wasn’t sure what was going to happen. This lady came up to me and my Mom at a grocery store and asked if I was interested in modeling. I said no right away, (my Mom) said yes, got her information and from there it was game over.” Those skills picked up in the Navy were quickly put to good use. That’s right – Modeling is another thing our new favorite piece of eye candy can tell us about first hand. is career began at a young age in Chicago, and took him all the way to New York, where he even lived with Actor Channing Tatum for a spell. It wasn’t long before he was booking gigs with the likes of Trump Magazine, GQ and Abercrombie & Fitch. “I wouldn’t say modeling was a dream, I kind of fell into it and I’m forever grateful for that.” (Translation: “Thanks, Mom!”) Upon moving to LA looking to continue his modeling career, and hoping to expand into acting, he felt he had to do something to set him apart from the competition. “Jax was a nickname that I had when I was younger, so it wasn’t a random name change. I knew how common the name Jason was, so I decided to make it official to hopefully stand out a little more.” Judging how his career has taken off, I think we can all concur he had the right idea. Today, his role as the sexy bartender/pseudo-villain on the hit reality series, Vanderpump Rules is one you’re likely already familiar with. Two weeks prior to booking the part he had fallen out of modeling and was ready to pack up and head back to Florida. Luckily for his fans, he was successfully lured into the gig by Stassi Schroder, who he was dated at the time. Despite how well he plays his bad boy role, (and how much we love watching it) he admits that in reality he’s not all bad... “It’s actually funny, because everyone that I meet says ‘you’re such a different person than

on the show’. The show is 100% real but, believe it or not, I do have a heart and I really am a good person!” As for where he and Stassi stand today, they’re no longer together and the breakup was one Jax admits he handled in an extreme way. “Last season I was dealing with a lot, one being my break up.” “I just make careless mistakes, and one thing I have learned is once you do something, own up to it. Honesty goes a long way. I am working on myself every day.” We’re sure his current girlfriend, Carmen Dickman hopes to avoid a public breakup anytime soon, so here’s to hoping that all ended with Stassi; But one thing we’re sure of is the actor/model consistently working to improve himself and expand his still-blossoming career. s if he needs anything else to fill his time, he has also successfully launched his own line of shoes and sweaters, XCALIBUR. (http://www.xcaliburbrand.com) Working with the CEO of the company has also inspired him to think big, and given him the chance to have a lot of creative control. “Working for yourself and being your own boss is really cool. It’s definitely a lot of work but it’s amazing to see the final product. It’s uplifting and keeps me striving for more!” I think I can speak for all of his fans when I say we certainly hope he keeps “striving for more”… We aren’t even close to having seen enough of Jax Taylor yet!

By Darcy Tharp odel and painter, Alessandra Velia, of half-Spanish, half-Italian descent was born in Genoa, Italy and grew up surrounded by a horse ranch further north in the province of Cuneo. She is currently based in Paris, France, where she moved a few years ago to have a French high school degree. She was not initially attracted to Paris for the fashion as one might think, but rather because of the opportunities there to develop her own painting business and introduce new and innovative types of paintings. Her modeling career started with a coincidence and gathered momentum very quickly. While she was doing a road trip by bus around Ireland, she met fashion photographer, Josh Caudwell, of which she says, “I am glad to have such a talented and nice person among my friends. He showed me his work and I found it absolutely amazing. It was the first time that I had met a fashion photographer and he talked to me about his world with so much enthusiasm and passion that I had no choice but to experience it myself.” A few weeks later, Caudwell came to Paris for two weeks and together they did photo shoots
almost every day, which gave her enough material to start thinking about a career. It was only about a month after Josh left, when she started working for Jana Hernette through her agency Jana Hernette model scouting. But even before that, she had her first glimpse of fashion week as she got hired by the Indian creator Little Shilpa to wear her creations for her show at the Silencio for the FW W/F 13. This turned out to be a very fortunate opportunity, as she proceeded to do all of the following fashion weeks with her ever since. “She is one of the sweetest persons I have ever met. I was happy to hear that Lady gaga wore some of her creations.” Alessandra continued to work mainly as a freelancer in order to develop her contacts, and it’s as a freelancer that she started working for Corto Moltedo (as a part model) for their SS 14 campaign and Dzmitri Samal, an amazingly creative sunglasses designer. Keeping the momentum alive, Velia recently signed with a new agency, DMA models, plans to sign with another one soon, and is also working to prepare a painting exhibition.

FMM: Tell me about your painting-your style and what you most like to paint? AV: I always have a few different styles of paintings I work on at the same time; I find it is very stimulating for the imagination and helps to improve each technique. At the moment, I work a lot on abstract painting, but it is very geometrical and I do a lot of work on textures. I also paint a lot of feminine figures, very colorful. I also very much enjoy painting very realistic animals. FMM: Who is your role model? What inspires you? AV: That is a hard question; no one is perfect, and everyone make mistakes. But my parents are real role models for me; they are very generous, always kind and helping, supportive for anything, loyal to each other and to their friends. You can count on them. That is the kind of person I want to be, and that’s what inspires me. I want my friends to know that they can count on me and my loyalty; being trustworthy is one of the most important things for me. FMM: What do you find is the hardest thing about modeling? AV: Many things are hard about modeling. People don’t always understand that. It’s more, “oh being a model is easy, you just have to be pretty,” but it’s so much more than that. For every shoot, you have to become a new character: sometimes strong, sometimes sweet, sometimes fearful, but that’s the interesting part of the job! What is very hard usually are the conditions. It happens a lot that you have to shoot with very light clothes on in the winter in the street all day long and still have to look pretty in pictures! Fashion shows can be pretty hard on the mood too.

FMM: What do you see yourself doing in ten years? AV: Well I am very young at the moment, so it’s pretty hard to have a vision ten years ahead. But for sure I’d like to have an art gallery, and if everything works out for me, maybe still be modeling. FMM: You have said you work a lot as a freelancer, do you find that has been a better way to meet people and find work? AV: Yes definitely! I think only working through an agency makes you become kind of lazy about developing your own network. It is really important for me not to depend only on the contacts of an agency. But of course working in an agency has many advantages also; it offers you security, and they give you advice about your career, etc. FMM: If you could change one thing about the world what would it be? AV: Many things deserve to be changed I think. But if we could make people stop fighting and have no more wars and conflicts between nations, maybe we would have more energy to take care of other major problems like lack of water, food, and poverty in some countries. FMM: Do you enjoy traveling? If you could go anywhere right now, where would you go? AV: More than enjoy, I truly love traveling, meeting new people, discovering new places, new cultures, and new landscapes. It one of the things I love the most. Traveling makes everything more exciting. If I had the time, I would love to be in Brazil right now. I think I left my heart in Rio last summer when I went to visit that wonderful city!

FMM: When did you first realize you were interested in makeup and it was something you were really good at? AM: I discovered this passion for makeup at a very young age. Whether I was watching TV, reading fashion magazines, or staring at a billboard, the only thing that was holding my attention was the makeup. At the age of thirteen after watching a Galliano show, I realized that makeup was a full-fledged profession. For me makeup is like a garment, an accessory, or a jewelry that you put on for a special occasion. FMM: What do you love most about makeup? AM: The fact that we are free to choose the products and the colors, which makes it so that we can achieve everything we want with a bit of creativity. I also love to be able to transform a face by adding some shadows and lights. FMM: Do you paint or draw or do any other art besides makeup? -because the face is a canvas and you are already creating art with your makeup. AM: What I often say is that a model is a raw material, that’s why we must be careful with the products we’re using. I like to take care of their skin. We need to be as gentle as possible so that we do not damage it. I draw sketches to bring my ideas to life. Recently I started with watercolors; I am still a beginner but I like it a lot. FMM: Do you have a signature look? What is it about your style that sets you apart from other makeup artists? AM: I think that the signature look is the most difficult thing to find. I’m at the beginning of my professional career so my style is still evolving. But people I am working with often tell me that I am very meticulous; I always care about the details. So my signature look is probably subtlety. FMM: If you weren’t doing this, what would your dream job be? AM: I can’t imagine doing anything else. I would take my backpack and travel all around the world, to learn about other cultures.
FMM: What is something every woman should be doing in terms of applying her own makeup every day? What is the most important beauty advice you can give to women? AM: Take care of your skin with creams that suit your skin type and drink a lot of water. When it comes to makeup choose the right color and test the product directly on your face and not on your hands. Use products that will highlight your tone and will compliment your eyes and hair color. Makeup is tricky. FMM: What do you love to do in your free time? AM: During my days off I like to walk around in Paris, and go to the movies or the theatre; I take some time to see my friends and family, do some sports, read, and draw my sketches. FMM: What was your favorite project/shoot/fashion show you have worked on and why? AM: Definitely the Hyeres festival, it’s an international festival of fashion that spotlights young promising artists in the fields of design and photography over the course of three days. It was an amazing experience. Stylists, hair artists, and makeup artists work together to create unique looks for every single show. It’s a real challenge, and we have to be quick and precise. FMM: Describe an average day of yours? AM: I don’t have a routine but most of the time I get up and go for a run, and then I eat and check my emails before leaving for a shoot. FMM: You say that you get a lot of your inspiration from your travels-what is your favorite or most interesting place to visit or live? AM: Every country and city I have visited inspired me, but New York impressed me the most. FMM: What can we expect from you in the future? What are your current projects? AM: I may not be able to predict what the future holds, but I hope that it will be full of good surprises as it has been the last three years. Although, my main goals are to work on more shows, beauty editorials, and go to India for inspiration.

A self-taught photographer residing on the East Coast of Australia, Katriena was born and grew up in the Caribbean island of Trinidad and Tobago. She began photography as a hobby in 2009 and by 2011 she decided to resign from her paralegal job to pursue photography full time. Specializing in portraiture, beauty, and fashion editorial photography, Katriena creatively directs most of the shoots. illiam Setiawan, an Indonesian fashion photographer says, “I am really lucky that I am able to earn a living from doing what I love. I like seeing beautiful and unique photos, and that makes me happy.” He studied architecture for his bachelor degree at Tarumanagara University, and by the end of college had learned photography architecture and fell in love with photography. “I really liked architecture but I love photography. You can make people smile and it will last forever.”
for famous Indonesian singers like Ello, Sandy Sandhoro, Bondan Prakoso and Fade2Black, and Poetra Brothers. He says that he receives his inspiration mainly from what he sees daily, from movies, music, places, and people. He loves to explore other countries about three times a year, to really gain some insight and inspiration from the earth he lives in. “It is so true that everybody is an artist, the difference is how they express the art side from the inside of them, and for me it is in photography and architecture.”
William went on to study again in an informal photography school for about one and a half years for fashion and commercial photography, working directly with the famous senior Indonesian photographer: Anton Ismael, whom he says is one of the photographers to this day that has influenced him the most. Since then he has worked full time as a photographer, for almost six years, specializing in fashion, beauty, and also commercial photography. His work has been published in international magazines in Indonesia, America, Spain, and the Netherlands. He was also hired for advertising projects coming from clients such as: Dove, Pertamina, Bank Mandiri, Optik Melawai, Metro Department Store, and Dunkin Donut. Later, he also expanded his work to videography, and together with Anton Ismael made several TV commercials such as: Mizone, Kopi ABC, and Dermatix and video-music clips
Describing his own style of shooting, William says, “I’m not the type of photographer that always directs a model to do something and everything- they (art director, model, stylist, makeup artist, assistant, and so on) know best what they have to do based on the concept/story; A good photographer knows that to make a great photo, even only a single photo, you need great teamwork. Most of the challenge is how to have the same vision from each team member, and keep the atmosphere fun during the photo shoot.” William can be found currently shooting in Europe.

ometimes life takes you on a less direct journey towards your destiny than you would imagine. For Amani Faiz, she had always seen herself as a photographer from childhood, when she would dress up her cousin and friends for pretend fashion shoots. But life as a photographer would have to wait as a career in dance would intervene. At age 18 she jetted off to Austria for a stint with the Ballet at Landestheatre in Innsbruck. For the next sixteen years she would travel the world as a dancer, drawing inspiration from exotic locations in the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, the U.S., London, Asia, and Europe, ending with a two year stint in Paris. Along the way she rediscovered her passion by taking head shots and portraits for her fellow dancers and performers, and managed to squeeze in three years of studying. Whilst in Paris, Amani began broadening her photography horizons assisting on professional shoots and experimenting with her own style influenced by Camilla Akrans, Peter Lindberg, and Henri Cartier-Bresson. This gave her a solid grounding for a return to Australia to begin her photography career in earnest. Since then her work has been seen in publications online and in print around the world.

The name FöM™ comes from a blend of the words femme and homme, and I also love the imagery of sea foam-- clean, refreshing & natural! We live in a new era. Old gender roles and rules are confining and out-ofdate. I decided to design the FöM™ products as I began to see an exciting new feeling of individualism and selfexpression developing in my clients and people I meet every day. People want to have self-determination in all aspects of their lives more than ever I believe, and that is reflected in their choice of lifestyle products too. FöM™ expresses that ideal.
