her to combine her skill for applying makeup, which she perfected while doing it on herself at several photo shoots and her passion for the art itself. After years of being in front of the camera, her new business, Hey Gorgeous Makeup allows her to experience being on the other side and Tami says, “working closely with photographers and stylists is so much fun.”
Her modeling career began when she was 15 years old, when a modeling scout approached her and her father in a shopping mall. She worked all throughout high school, appearing in numerous catalogs and print campaigns and already had enough cash to purchase her own car when she was only sixteen years old. Taking a break from modeling after high school, Tami attended Florida Atlantic University to get her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. After college she tried her hand at teaching 3rd grade for one year, but then returned to the entertainment industry. In 2005, she decided it was time to get out of the modeling industry and try a “real job,” which for her ended up being Florida real estate. However, that same year she won first place in Maxim Magazine’s Hometown Hottie contest, a well-known contest that inevitably opened so many doors for her career. Understandably, she decided to put real estate and teaching aside to take advantage of the many and new opportunities presented to her. Momentum took over, and the very next year, 2006 found her named in MAXIM’s HOT 100 list, as number 89. And in 2007 she was named Miss Maxim USA and appeared on several covers for Maxim in six different countries, “Such a dream come true for a girl born in Hollywood, FL.”
When she has a bit of free time, Tami enjoys working out, rollerblading, going to the beach, baking, watching movies, shopping for designer purses and shoes, and all things fashion. She loves staying home when she can and spending time with her babies Gucci and Louie, her Pomeranian and Chihuahua. As far as traveling goes, Tami gained an appreciation for it throughout her years of modeling, which allowed her to visit many exotic places and countries: Canada, Thailand, China, France, India, Italy, England, and the Czech Republic. She still enjoys seeing how other cultures lives and traveling occasionally, but essentially Tami calls herself an “all-American girl” and is happy living in “the best country in the world.” “Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow.” Tami lives by her favorite quote, and her modeling success can most likely be attributed to her strong faith. As a very strong Christian, Tami tells us to “never lose faith, no matter how hard life gets!” She says that after reading, “The Purpose Driven Life” by Rick Warren, she was inspired to make many changes in her life and she loves sharing that with people. “God has put me in a position where I can share my faith and tell nonbelievers about the wonderful changes Jesus Christ has made in my life. I love leading a Christian life and I’m not afraid to share His love with others.
After living in LA for almost five years, Tami returned to the east coast and is now excited about her newest venture of makeup artistry, which allows

FMM: What have you found to be the hardest thing about modeling? TD: In the beginning the hardest thing about modeling was seemingly common rejection. I was only 14 so learning there wasn’t anything wrong with me was a little hard when you’re that young. I would often hear, “you’re too skinny, you’re too short, you’re too young, your boobs are too small or too big” and on and on. Models must have thick skin and remind themselves often that there’s nothing wrong with them, they just aren’t right for that particular job. FMM: What is your diet like? Describe an average day of what you eat. TD: To be completely honest I have never dieted in my life. I’ve been blessed with a fast metabolism and have always been skinny. When I was younger, I was made fun of for being too skinny. So, now in my 30’s, I TRY to eat healthy for the most part Monday through Friday. So in the mornings I always start with a healthy green superfood shake with egg whites, or banana, or oatmeal. At shoots I always bring a banana or apple and a healthy power bar- my favorite is Quest Bars Cookie Dough; it’s soooo good. Lunch is usually a salad or turkey or chicken sandwich on a whole wheat pita, and I love carrots and hummus instead of chips. Dinner is usually chicken, turkey, or fish with a green veggie; I love quinoa too! Night time is always hard because I love sweets, so I try to eat a banana or apple with peanut butter or sugar free cookies. But Reese’s Peanut Butter cups are my weakness. On the weekends I tend to eat more carbs, and when eating out it’s tough for me to order the healthy option :)) But, I try!

FMM: What was the favorite shoot you ever did and why? TD: My favorite shoot was for a cable network show called Sexy and Single. Of course this is back when I was single. A group of twelve girls were selected to go to Costa Careyes, Mexico for a week. We all stayed in an amazing house on the side of a cliff. The backdrop was breathtaking; I made really great friends, and the photos were by the amazing Kimberly Metz. We all had a really great time exploring, shooting, eating, drinking, and making memories that will last a life time. FMM: Do you think you will ever try teaching or real estate again? Or are those things of the past? TD: Ummm...teaching or real estate?! I would never say, NEVER; you just never know what life will bring, so you never know-possibly!!! FMM: You used to produce fashion shows in Florida. Are you still planning on doing them or what ventures are you focusing on at the moment? TD: I haven’t produced fashion shows in a while now; just dealing with club managers and owners was such a headache. I’m now focusing my spare time on my makeup business-Hey Gorgeous Makeup. FMM: Are there kids in your future? Or are Gucci and Louie enough for now?! TD: Yes! I definitely want kids...sooner rather than later. It’s the first time in my life I can actually say I’m ready and excited about being a mom. >>>
FMM: If you could change one thing about the world what would it be? TD: I know this sounds cliché but if I could change one thing about the world it would be world peace. And, this I believe starts with our nations’ leaders. Instead of war why can’t our nations figure out a way to civilly work out their differences, just like we are taught as citizens? It breaks my heart seeing our men and women serving, leave their families for long periods of time, some never returning, and others returning with psychological problems
all because some leaders in a board room decided to go to war. And another thing I’d want to change are animal rights across the world. These innocent creatures need to be protected and helped in ALL nations.

Must-see Cities: Istanbul / Olympos Istanbul is packed with things to do, eat and see and is easy to navigate by foot. Olympos is a tiny beach village and former hippie commune accessible only by a (usually overcrowded) minibus. There are no hotels here, only tree houses (!) which are cheap, chic and fun. Look for the ancient Turkish ruins and the incredibly colorful wildlife along the path to the beach. What to bring: good book, an extra fluffy towel to make yourself comfortable while sunbathing (the beach is made of small stones, not sand) and cash for buying fresh mussels from the vendors walking up and down the shore. What to eat: Turkish kebabs are on every corner – try them! They are good and surprisingly cheap. Fresh fish is also plentiful since you’re so close to the sea. Turkish coffee is famous the world over for it’s strong, deep taste so have a sip or two. My favorite was hot Apple Tea, an unusual flavor I had never seen before. What to wear: Turkey’s capital city is becoming increasingly more conservative due to Muslim influence; to respect the culture try to keep your shoulders covered and avoid short skirts or shorts in the summertime. At the beach all types of beachwear are appropriate.

Must-see Cities: Kiev, Chernobyl Bring your A-game to Kiev – the girls here are some of Europe’s best-dressed and will put you to shame if youre not looking good. It’s not uncommon to see people dressed up during the day for no special occasion so you need to be on point. Bring your coolest clothes and leave your flats at home; heels rule in the capital. Save a day for a trip to Chernobyl, the site of the nuclear disaster in 1986. The abandoned city is haunting and completely silent for miles around - everyone back home wont believe you got to see it in person. Pro-Tip: skip Ukraine in the winter, as temperatures can get down to 0°. Best places: visit Maidan Square, the symbolic location of Ukraine’s national revolution, while it’s still standing. Over the last few months it’s been barricaded and fortified by patriotic nationalists defending Ukrainian independence. The square abounds with signs and ribbons in the national colors blue and yellow, exhibits about what’s been happening there, and photos and memorials of those lost in the clash with Russia. We’re watching history as it happens.

Must-See Cities: Lagos Lagos isn’t a widely known location but it’s a major underground party spot for the under-30 crowd. Be prepared for no sleep, non-stop drinking and fun in the sun 24/7. Young partiers come from all over Europe to spend a few booze-filled days in the sun for incredibly cheap prices. What to bring: your swimsuit, aspirin for your hangover, SPF100 What to wear: a bikini and flip flops; swimwear rules the scene, even at night. What to eat: check out the catch of the day for fresh-caught seafood

I’m launching my very own skin care product line called FöM™ soon. It’s about clean, light, high quality products that I have designed to enhance anyone’s look and style. The name FöM™ comes from a blend of the words femme and homme, and I also love the imagery of sea foam-- clean, refreshing & natural! We live in a new era. Old gender roles and rules are confining and out-ofdate. I decided to design the FöM™ products as I began to see an exciting new feeling of individualism and selfexpression developing in my clients and people I meet every day. People want to have self-determination in all aspects of their lives more than ever I believe, and that is reflected in their choice of lifestyle products too. FöM™ expresses that ideal.

The iconic designer who believed that outer beauty would help elevate inner beauty and that confidence could be deemed from donning a garment, designed exquisite gowns seeped in romantic glamour for leading ladies spanning the spectrum of politics, Hollywood, and royalty. Remembered for dressing first ladies such as Jackie Kennedy, Nancy Reagan, and Hillary Clinton and celebrities including Sarah Jessica Parker and most recently the wedding gown for Amal Clooney, the designer married European sophistication with American cool in his designs, using volume, color, and dramatic construction. Anna Wintour, a close friend of Oscars said that, “His designs reflected his extraordinary personality: optimistic, fun, sunny, romantic,” and that “Oscar was everything you could want a friend to be. He always said accept your friends for who they are, not for who you want them to be.” Charming and popular, he loved entertaining and dining with people from all walks of life and President Danilo Medina said of the Dominican-born designer, “his departure leaves a void that is just impossible to fill,” and declared a national day of mourning in Santo Domingo. De la Renta studied art in Madrid and worked as an apprentice to Cristobal Balenciaga before becoming an assistant at Lanvin in Paris in 1960. Moving to the U.S. he found work with Elizabeth Arden, who helped promote him and grow his own reputation. He then proceeded to work for Jane Derby, an American fashion house, which he took over upon her death in 1965. Later, from 1993 to 2002 he worked for the house of Balmain, designing their haute couture collection and becoming the first Dominican to design for a French fashion house. His eponymous line run on the ideals of hard work, patience, and the value of appearance, became a hugely successful, family-run company. It produced two runway shows a year in New York, ready to wear, accessories, fragrances, children’s wear, bridal wear and a home line and will continue to do so under the direction of British designer Peter Copping, Oscar’s chosen successor. The resplendent, award-winning designer is survived by his second wife, philanthropist, Annette Reed, an adopted son, and three step children. As his close friend Diane Von Furstenberg said, “The only way that we can actually honor him is by all of us loving life, and loving fashion, and loving gardens, and being, you know, full of life, and enjoying life.”
