LETTER FROM EDITOR Dear Readers, Since the release of our first issue we had an amazing response from our fans and contributors and because of this we are publishing two issues instead of one for the month of October. The first issue is a special edition dedicated to female talents from around the globe. We collected images and content from many talented female photographers, designers, models, and artists. Sadly we are unable to showcase all talents in our list in this issue, but we hope you enjoy and admire the work of those who made it. And oh yes we did not completely forgot about our talented male photographers and have included a few in this edition as well. Thank you for your support

USI BELIANSKA STOOD GRACEFULLY WITH BLONDE HAIR, GENTLE FEATURES AND A FACE THAT THE CAMERA LOVED. A MUSE, POISED ELEGANTLY FOR THE FLASHING CAMERA. CONSUMED WITH KNOWLEDGE AND A PASSION, SUSI PLACED HERSELF ON THE OTHER SIDE, TO BE GREETED WITH A LENS THAT WOULD GO ON TO CAPTURE HER INSIDE BEAUTY, VISIONS OF LIFE, PEOPLE AND ARCHITECTURE. By 2007, Susi was shooting for various campaigns and catalogues as a national and international brand developer, collaborating with International publishers, including: Conde Nast, Gruppo Mondatori, as well as, high-profile luxury magazines like Red Collector Paris, Bund Pictures, Rendezvous de la Mode and Glitter Magazine; and her photography continues to impress the eyes of others like, Zink Magazine, Corbis Corporation and Masterfile. In fact, in 2012, Susi was amongst the Top Fashion Photographers at Sony’s World Photography Awards. In 2013, she proved to the industry that she is a competitive photographer as she became featured on Vogue’s popular Italian website, “vogue.it” where she went on to win contests like the Nikon Talent Photo competition. This accomplishment was recognized and displayed in the category of “Fashion and Glamour” during the International Contemporary Art Fair, “Artissma”. It is because of her raw talent that Susi regularly participates at the Photo Festival de Monde of Cannes and receives representation by Sudest57.com - a photographer’s agency that recognizes superior talent, such as that of Steve McCurry and his photo “Afghan Girl” labeled by National Geographic as the “Most Recognized Photograph” in the world. Based in Milan, Susi Belianska continues to travel the world capturing breathtaking images as a truly talented and highly sought after fashion and portrait photographer. We are proud to feature Susi Belianska and her always, amazing work!

ssian photographer Sergey Korolkov. He believed in me, and saw potential that I had yet to see in myself. Within six months, I worked hard on my own self-development and with the tremendous support from his family and the love of his mother, my obstacles and difficulties started fading away. I started communicating almost daily with photographers, models, stylists, and designers. Currently, I can be seen in many wellknown international magazines and advertising campaigns. During this time, I visited many different countries and dreamed of new adventures. Asia and the US are on the top of my wish list; it all seems so enigmatic to me! I’m so very grateful to my world-wide fans, friends, and loved ones. Your daily words of encouragement and support ALWAYS bring a smile to my face. :) Sincerely, Maria Popova.

FMM: Did you get nervous for your first shoot and do you still get nervous before every shoot? MP: Yes. I was nervous during my first photo shoot and I still get nervous! I worry about what the photographer expects the final results to look like. My nerves kick in before and during the shoot sometimes! FMM: What advice would you give to young models wanting to get into the modeling/acting scene? MP: It is very important to set a goal, to achieve what’s desired. At the same time, be aware of all the difficulties along the way. Another useful professional tip - don’t bring your personal problems to work. Your private life should not interfere with the photo shoot, but it is not always easy. FMM: What are some of the must see places in St. Petersburg? MP: Saint Petersburg is one of the most beautiful cities in the world! I recommend planning enough vacation time to see our entire city center. It is a city of different moods. There are so many different aspects to the city like our European architecture, historical sights, Russian cathedrals and statues, to name a few. You will not regret visiting!

FMM: If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live? MP: I love my city and its mentality. It is special. I respect our traditions and history. But, like everyone in the world, I like to travel. I have been to most European countries but I always look forward to going home, as it is my favorite place in the world. I also dream of visiting Asia and the United States. FMM: What else can we expect from you in the future? MP: I am launching my own fashion and lifestyle brand, Your Choice Your Fashion- by Maria Popova (YCYF) set to debut in spring/ summer 2015 in St. Petersburg and later in Moscow and other cities. You will also see new publications and advertising campaigns, which will reflect and showcase my continued personal advancements. FMM: If you could change one thing about the world, regardless of guilt or politics, what would you do? MP: I would change the attitude towards charity and make sure that people do it out of sincerity and not fame or fortune. FMM: Secret yearnings/wants/must have’s? MP: My secret weakness is beautiful things. I can’t skip past beautiful clothes, dresses, or watches. FMM: Favorite food? MP: I live in the northern city and even though I play sports, live a healthy lifestyle, and eat healthy food, I love Russian national cuisine with its rich assortment and traditions. I like Borscht (beetroot and cabbage soup), pancakes, Okroshka (cold kvass soup with vegetables and cooked meat), and other meats and fish.

I do not like traditional photographing — it is boring, I prefer so-called an aesthetics of a casual shot I try to create atmosphere in which the person feels easy – the main secret of my pictures. Not to be pleasant to me the posing, it is not pleasant to me that between me and the camera costs model, therefore I use the best efforts, that about it have forgotten. All occurs literally hurriedly that for fraction of a second to seize all essence of the person during this moment. This method allows me to catch set of magnificent pictures, it colourful, attractive, reflecting you in the best display of happiness.

FMM: When do you think you realised that what you were doing in your daily drill would become your profession for life? VT: I realised what i wanted my profession to be really quite early in life. I went to a fulltime ballet school at 12 years of age and was accepted into The Australian Ballet school at 15. It was around then that i realised that this is what i wanted to do in my life, however it wasn’t until i was accepted into The Australian Ballet that it actually became my life. FMM: How often do you dance in a day/ week? VT: I dance roughly 40 hours per week. Thats 6 working days and only Sundays off. FMM: Tell us about your most recent projects? VT: Well as i write this i am currently in Los Angeles on a US West Coast tour with the Australian Ballet of Graeme Murphy’s Swan Lake. Once we get back home to Melbourne we have a one week turn around before we are in Sydney opening La Bayadere. FMM: What do people not know about the world of Ballet? VT: How all consuming it is. How insanely difficult it is, both physically and mentally. How good it makes you feel when watching it live. FMM: How long did it take you to become a professional Ballerina. VT: I started Ballet at 7, became semi-serious about it at 12, became really serious about it at 15, graduated at 18, got into the Australian Ballet at 18 and now I’m 24 and still doing class everyday and still striving to get better everyday. It doesn’t end. FMM: What companies have you been with? VT: I have only ever been with the Australian Ballet although earlier this year i spent two months on a dancer exchange in Amsterdam with Het Nationale Ballet.

FMM: How have you injured yourself dancing through the years? VT: I have been really, really fortunate and never had any super serious injuries. I had a pretty bad Ankle sprain in my first year in the Australian Ballet which had me off stage for about 3 months, rehab-ing. For a dancer to have small ‘niggles’ is fairly normal considering how much physical activity we do. Achilles Impingements, tight hip-flexors and shoulder impingements are my common niggles that pop up. FMM: Do you have any secrets for dancing? VT: No, just feel it and love it. FMM: What is the hardest thing about Ballet? VT: Do you have half an hour? Its like asking “ What is the hardest thing about life?”, where to begin? FMM: What are your favourite steps to move/ perform? VT: I don’t mind, as long as those steps are joined to make beautiful movement. FMM: What is your favourite classical Ballet? VT: Giselle. I first watched this ballet when i was 8 or 9 and it made me cry, it still does. FMM: What is your breakfast of choice? NEW WORLD COUTURE ARTICLE WRITTEN BY SARA ANGELUCCI // PHOTOS COURTESY OF STYLE.COM

NEW YORK FASHION WEEK- In a time when fast fashion rules and a trend can start instantly over social networks, designers brought individual ideas stretching the boundaries between high fashion and contemporary clothing to the Ready to Wear runways. Fashion week started off white from head to toe in New York and ended up in a floral, plaid frenzy, while other designers opted for minimalism mixing vintage and modern vibes, taking a new modern approach to old world couture. Jason Wu takes a clean linear direction to American sportswear, standing out from the rest at New York Fashion Week. Drawing inspiration from vintage Dior, Chanel and Balenciaga plugging in modern fabric to vintage silhouettes. We see this trend also appear on the Paris runways. Dior revived classic vintage silhouettes but also integrated new cuts with a modern appeal as an evolution of the houses design process. Paris Fashion Week brought an inflow of creative ideas and concepts where others were lacking. Vionnet designer Goga Ashkenazi dominated the runway referencing Madame Grès pleating, and edgy bondage detailing reminiscent of Zana Banye harnesses into high couture gowns. The mixture of classic design elements with a contemporary edge was phenomenal, creating goddess-esque looks in thigh highs. The house of Vionnet has definitely proven to be revived since its closure in 1939 and resurrection eight years ago. Staying true to its bias cut claim to fame, Vionnet is the right cut fit for a queen.

This season has brought a new exciting take on fashion. We are seeing designers like Alexander Wang at Balenciaga, bring new daring looks to the runway playing with transparency, juxtaposing shapes and silhouettes as well as creating unique surface details in-house at some of Europe’s most talented fabric mills. There is a definite ease to the designs on the runway. Clothing is looser, more contemporary with a vintage flair. This design formula of Modern and vintage is the strong direction designers took with their collections this season. Many designers executed this through proportion, fabric and silouette. Drawing inspiration from old world couture, infusing it with modern contemporary elements arriving at what I coin the term New World Couture.

Rodarte

Designer Hedi Slimane for Saint Laurent and Kate and Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte completely went on there own creative journey bringing us into a world they created. Setting their own trends for spring summer 2015, the Rodarte sisters drew inspiration from tide pools, creating beautiful handcrafted artistic gowns that glittered like sun on the ocean and had textures that emulated kelp and coral. Hands down the sisters have created one of the most wearable and most creative collection on the runway. The newly appointed designer of Yves St. Laurent Hedi Slimane has definitely infused the label with a sense of vitality. Revising the whole look of the fashion house, targeting younger clientele with hip short denim skirts, sequins and platform heels transporting us back to the 60s and 70s. This collection reminds me of the film “Almost Famous” staring Kate Hudson. The inspiration must be a direct influence from the fashion houses’ recent move to Los Angeles. I can only speak for myself but I definitely will be going out to get myself a pair of vintage Rodarte platforms to romp around Sunset Blvd.
