Bang!

And the season goes off with a Blast. First and foremost, we would like to thank the readers for their loyalty to our sponsors and advertisers. This past month has been an awesome display and representation from the FLB fans. Our Club Risque Poker Ride was a lot of fun..see story and pics in this issue. May 21-23 was especially heartwarming for PA. Congratulations to Jack and the crew at Penn Jersey Cycles who took home the trophy for the Biker Build off at “Rally to The Rock”. With sketchy weather all the bikes rolled in. The crowd came from all directions and we partied like Rock Stars. The intense connection we feel and share at our gatherings can only be described as primal and tribal. If you didn’t make it I hope whatever was on your “to do list” was worth it! The pics and stories that will be in next month’s issue will barely do justice. Every month we update our website and try new ideas..This month we added our on-line magazine, a new Events Calendar that you can list your own up-coming events with info and a map, and a chat box for discussions or hot topics for our members and its all FREE!!! Let’s not forget two very important dates this month. June 14- Flag Day and June 20- Fathers Day. Live Love Laugh and ride safe.

Warriors Watch by Wayne “Rock” (of the Marne) Lutz

Supporting our Nations Warriors WOUNDED WARRIOR RIDERS PROJECT May 16, 2010

On May 16 we undertook a motorcyclemounted mission unlike any we had done before. Each time we do a Welcome Home escort for a young Military man or woman, we touch a heart in a way that will never be forgotten. We are showing those warriors how much they were missed, how much they were prayed for, how much they are loved. At the opposite extreme are those for whom we stand silent and solemn vigil as we did two weeks ago near Allentown. At those times, when a young warrior has fallen, you touch the hearts of a grieving family, you give a mother comfort in knowing that her beloved child will not be forgotten, you give a father tearful pride in the honor inherent in the passing, and you teach an entire community that sacrifice deserves to be answered with honor and respect. But last Sunday we rode – 120 motorcycles and a dozen other vehicles strong. On that day we stood among those in the middle – among those who did not die but might have, those who came back, not to their homes, but to a hospital, in many cases for years to come. As we gathered at the final rally point in Rock Creek Park, our partner Major Ed Kennedy spoke to the large group about what we were about to experience. Then a short ride to the hospital, where we met and had lunch with young people whose dreams of the future have been cut off and discarded with their mangled legs. There at Walter Reed we met heroes had sacrificed much of their bodies for the ideal of liberty. To these we rode to show honor, to acknowledge their pain, to show respect for those and respect for what they have lost. We old guys felt immediately as brothers among them, there at Walter Reed. There are no strangers among those who have shed blood for our sakes, who have experienced the worst pain and witnessed the deaths of their friends.

And heroes they are – for proof, just ask a small boy named “Kyle,” who we met there at Walter Reed. Kyle is 13 years old, but he looked much younger. He suffers from a disease called “Hunter Syndrome.” It’s a disease that will soon kill him. Kyle’s home is in California. He was here with his family through the work of the “Make-A-Wish” foundation. Kyle had made a wish - to meet an “American Hero.” A soldier had heard Kyle’s wish and arranged for him to come to Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Naturally, we 150 or so old softie-bikers and veter ans were drawn to Kyle like a bee to honey. Kyle was given Warriors’ Watch coins, buttons, pins, and other tokens. As he received each one he would beam and show it with excitement to his mom before tucking it away or pinning it on his shirt. One of our Warriors’ Watch Riders asked Kyle, “Well, did you meet any heroes?”In answer, with a huge smile that lit up his face - Kyle picked up his copy of the Constitution of the United States and held it up. His Constitution was covered with the signatures of the young wounded veterans who lived there at that hospital – the very heroes who had sacrificed blood, flesh, and bone, in the defense of that Constitution. The loss of their legs, their arms or hands, their faces, their futures – did not lessen their compassion for a little boy who did not have long to live. That is the true character of today’s American warrior. When the day was over and we are all safely back in our homes, there to resume our safe, mundane lives, we could rest knowing that we had done the best of things, that we had seen pain and given back friendship and deep, abiding respect. Warriors Watch riders, club members, lone wolves for what you have done, I salute you.

Politics Biker Style

by Charles Umbenhaur A.B.A.T.E.

We recently introduced legislation (House Bill 2442) that would amend Title 75 (Vehicles), Section 102 (definitions), of the PA Consolidated Statutes by modifying the definition of the term “motorcycle”. Currently, “motorcycles” is defined as “a motor vehicle having a seat or saddle for the use of the rider and designed to travel on not more than three wheels in contact with the ground.” Because of the limited definition, the PA Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has been unable to impose any regulations or standards for cycles with two stabilizing wheels or “training wheels.” Our legislation would amend the current definition by adding language that includes modifications through use of a conversion kit that adds two stabilizing wheels on the rear of the motor vehicle. This simple change will authorize PennDOT to implement regulations and standards for motorcycles and motorcyclists that utilize these rear stabilizing wheels. Thanks to our volunteers on Lobby Day, we were able to gather 120 cosponsors on the bill and have it introduced the following day. The bill presently is in the House Transportation Committee. We are going to make every effort to have this bill moved out of the Committee to the full House for consideration and at the same time keep any amendments from being added to the bill. This is an important bill for all motorcyclists. I recently purchased a motorcycle publication that had no less than six different ads for trikes and also one for the Voyager convertible kits. Obviously, with the graying of today’s motorcyclists the move to more than two wheels is in full swing.

HUMOR IN THE FAST LANE

Compiled by the Chief

All jokes are submitted by our readers. We dont know where they came from or who wrote them. Just enjoy!!!

A woman pregnant with triplets was walking down the street when a masked robber ran out of a bank and shot her three times in the stomach. Luckily the babies were OK. The surgeon decided to leave the bullets in because it was too risky to operate. She gave birth to two healthy daughters and a healthy son. All was fine for 16 years, and then one daughter walked into the room in tears. ‘What’s wrong?’ asked the mother. ‘I was taking a tinkle and this bullet came out,’ replied the daughter. The mother told her it was okay and explained what happened 16 years ago About a week later the second daughter walked into the room in tears. ‘Mom, I was taking a tinkle and this bullet came out.’ Again the mother told her not to worry and explained what happened 16 years ago.. A week later her son walked into the room in tears. ‘It’s okay’ said the Mom, ‘I know what happened You were taking a tinkle and a bullet came out.’ ‘No,’ said the boy, ‘I was playing with myself and I shot the dog.’

The lesbians next door asked me what I would like for my birthday. I was quite surprised when they gave me a Rolex. It was very nice of them, but I think they misunderstood me when I said, I wanna watch. A woman decides to have a facelift for her 50th birthday. She spends $15,000 and feels pretty good about the results. On her way home, she stops at a newsstand to buy a newspaper. Before leaving, she says to the clerk, ‘I hope you don’t mind my asking, but how old do you think I am ‘About 32,’ is the reply.’‘Nope! I’m exactly 50,’ the woman says happily.A little while later she goes into McDonald’s and asks the counter girl the very same question. The girl replies, ‘I’d guess about 29.’The woman replies with a big smile, ‘Nope, I’m 50.’ Now she’s feeling really good about herself.. She stops in a drug store on her way down the street. She goes up to the counter to get some mints and asks the clerk this burning question. The clerk responds, ‘Oh, I’d say 30.’Again she proudly responds, ‘I’m 50, but thank you!’ While waiting for the bus to go home, she asks an old man waiting next to her the same question. He replies, ‘Lady, I’m 78 and my eyesight is going. Although, when I was young there was a sure-fire way to tell how old a woman 18 F LBPA . c o m

was. It sounds very forward, but it requires you to let me put my hands under your bra. Then, and only then can I tell you EXACTLY how old you are.’ They wait in silence on the empty street until her curiosity gets the best of her. She finally blurts out, ‘What the hell, go ahead.’ He slips both of his hands under her blouse and begins to feel around very slowly and carefully. He bounces and weighs each breast and he gently pinches each nipple. He pushes her breasts together and rubs them against each other. After a couple of minutes of this, she says, ‘Okay, okay....How old am I?’ He completes one last squeeze of her breasts, removes his hands, and says, ‘Madam, you are 50.’ Stunned and amazed, the woman says, ‘That was incredible, how could you tell?’ The old man says, ‘Promise you won’t get mad?’ ‘I promise I won’t’ she says. ‘I was behind you at McDonalds I was walking down the street when I was accosted by a particularly dirty and shabby-looking homeless woman who asked me for a couple of dollars for dinner. I took out my wallet, got out ten dollars and asked, ‘If I give you this money, will you buy wine with it instead of dinner?’ ‘No, I had to stop drinking years ago’, the homeless woman told me.‘Will you use it to go shopping instead of buying food?’ I asked. ‘No, I don’t waste time shopping,’ the homeless woman said. ‘I need to spend all my time trying to stay alive.’‘Will you spend this on a beauty salon instead of food?’ I asked. ‘Are you NUTS!’ replied the homeless woman. I haven’t had my hair done in 20 years!’ ‘Well, I said, ‘I’m not going to give you the money. Instead, I’m going to take you out for dinner with my husband and me tonight.’ The homeless Woman was shocked. ‘Won’t your husband be furious with you for doing that? I know I’m dirty, and I probably smell pretty disgusting.’ I said, ‘That’s okay. It’s important for him to see what a woman looks like after she has given up shopping, hair appointments, and wine.’

May & June MOOD OF THE MOMENT. Dramatic strong happenings for all the cardinal signs now (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn). Uranus goes into Aries now for the next 7 years. It is an 84 year cycle and it hasn’t happened before in our lives. It is about individuality, freedom and doing something new. Saturn in Libra since November 2009 until November 2012. It is a 28 year cycle and it has to do with authority, structure, work, stabilization or struggle. Pluto in Capricorn from Feb 2008 until 2024. It has to do with intensity, empowerment, or crisis, particularly in government, geology, and economy. It has to do with the end of things and that is where we finally find the truth. All of these in square or opposition to each other. Many crises will be happening and enlightenment too. Maybe best of all, profound archaeological discoveries will be made that will change who we think we are and where we come from. Finally, human species No.22 will know who he is. ARIES. Uranus goes into Aries now giving you the LIBRA.. The more stable you try to be, the more incredible urge to be free and to do something new unpredictable the world becomes. The more you with your life. Jupiter joining maybe gives you the try to make things permanent and lasting, the opportunity and the open door. Then the door shuts. more they crumble into dust before your eyes. Then the door opens again. Some delay, obstacle, This is your duality at this time and there is a lot duty or responsibility gets in your way. You can’t just to learn from all of this. Find that which is solid quit everything like you feel like doing, but you can do and strong and eternal within yourself. Not only the old things in a new way while the tension builds, do you become a light onto yourself, but the selfbuilds, builds until that magic moment when only the sufficiency you find will carry you through. You moment matters. Freedom is coming and will arrive find that you are your own best friend and the when you finally pay the price it requires. best companion you will ever have. TAURUS. Happy Birthday Beloved. It is a thinking, talking, travelling time for you now. Mercury in Taurus until the middle of June. It is an extroverted communication time networking and staying in touch with friends. It is not about superficial chit chat. There is some deep thinking going on. Maybe listening to the words of the Master. Maybe going deeper into the meaning of life. Your friends may be having worries now and asking you for your advice. You have the power and the depth to help them find their power now.

SCORPIO. It is about communicating with the ones you love, your friends and family and everyone else too. It is about dropping long silences or any old fears you might not be listened to or understood. It is about listening, really listening. It is about expressing, really expressing. Drop taking your partner for granted. Smile at the other 35x an hour and leave little notes stuck on the steering wheel or between the bristles of their tooth brush. Networking, facebooking, emailing, skyping, smiling are the things to do.

GEMINI. Time to love and to be loved. Happy Birthday. Venus in Gemini gives you a charm that adds to that bright and beautiful smile you are famous for. Let yourself shine even more brightly in the world and let others come closer to the light. Let yourself be magnetic without words or effort. Treat yourself to the good things and luxuriate in the physical plane. Emphasize being in the light, being the light itself, and then after that the words will come and the message that can be said will be delivered.

SAGITTARIUS. You are supposed to have a good time now. That’s your job. If you can travel, that would be great. Good time to take a trip. Good to take your partner with you or to find one when you get there. Good time for relationship too. Do something new you have never done before and go to places you have never been. Be with someone and be two. Two people sharing pleasure is twice the pleasure. Do it the easy way and treat yourself to some comfort and luxury. This is not the time to struggle or worry. Live good.

CANCER. These are strong times and you are feeling the feelings of others around you. You always feel the feelings of those around you. You are the emotional antennae that picks up everything. The best thing you can do for others is to lead by example. Be prepared. Follow the Mormon plan and have extra food supplies in your cupboards. Be prepared. Have the tools and lamps and what it takes to be self sufficient. Even if nothing happens, it gives a sense of security that there is solid ground to stand on somewhere in this whirling world. LEO. Mars in Leo since October, which is an unusually long time (It is usually two months in a sign). This is why maybe you have been so busy and assertive in your life getting things done. Not much patience and low frustration tolerance. Got to do. Just one more month and you can be sweet and loving again. Maybe the main objective has been to succeed at work and pay off some debt. Finally in July the Mars moves into Virgo and goes into the Second House of money. You either spend the money and go into debt again or you are busy making the money to build your nest egg. VIRGO. A fact is a fact, but the meaning of it is another thing. A fact is a fact and it tends to stay the same. The meaning of it changes as you change and it moves as you move. Now that you have accumulated all this knowledge, it is the right time to go into the meaning of it all in the deepest, deepest way. Good to put it all together into a system and a belief. The stronger and more profound the belief, the more you can go into the universal all-is-one inexpressible mystical space of wordlessness that comes next year.

24

F LBPA . c o m

CAPRICORN. Well, this is not going to be the easiest time in your life, but you would be bored if it was. You are genetically engineered to struggle to the mountain top and to do it the hard way. The mountain top is not the point. The effort to get there is. The goal you have is magnificent and worthy of your strength. You chose such a goal because it demands all of your strength. It will be achieved and you will arrive, but as you know, it will take some time. The world is a chaos, but those in confusion will look to you to find a way. AQUARIUS. Maybe some conflict or argument in your life now. Mars opposite your sign. It is not something to be avoided or detached from, but a sign to put more energy into your relationship. Still these on-going dilemmas between be detached or be involved, be free or be responsible, be joyful or be serious, be assertive or compromise. The next step is to establish your base camp, a solid ground of stability, from which you can go out to explore and play. It is all just a drama and you are the author of the part you play. PISCES. You were never intended to be in the body. It is a lot of work to carry the heavy thing around and move its arms and limbs and fingers and toes. There comes a lazy time where any effort at all is too much and it is much better to do things the easy way. Time to make your life an easy life without demand or stress. People keep wanting you to do things and be busy. It is not correct for you. The Capricorns want to do it. It is not your way. The easy way is your way. Find the flow and just let yourself be carried along into the ocean and just be.

Thunder Beach in Panama City Florida and Myrtle Beach South Carolina a tale of two diametrically opposed rallies. I have attended the Myrtle Beach rally both in the spring and fall for over a decade. This WAS, bar none, my favorite rally of them all. It was friendly, ingratiating the vending fees were fair, the weather was always great and there was minimal police presence. Other than the weather all those things no longer exist. I did not attend this spring rally because my vender fee was $1300.00 and vendor areas such as Broadway at the beach and Iron Gate no longer exist. The City of Myrtle Beach had checkpoints all over the place and it was very apparent we, bikers, were no longer welcome. I know I speak for many customers and vendors in saying we will never be back and that includes to play golf. There are many other rallies that appreciate you, us, spending our hard earned money. One such rally is the Thunder Beach Rally in Panama City Beach Florida. This was the first year we formally attended and set up in Frank Brown Park. Joe Biggs and his staff did a great job the vending area and accommodated over 75 vendors with out a glitch. We visited numerous other vending areas while we filmed for “Two Wheel Thunder” a sense of gratitude that permeated the entire event. We were fortunate to be judges for the Miss Panama Beach contest and had a great time. However a tip to Bikini Models in a contest: The answer to the question: “What do you want to achieve in life”? Isn’t “A family, a college degree and a house with a white picket fence”. It’s “I wanna be a rock star and do a shot of Jaegermeister with all of you right now…” just A LITTLE TIP FROM A JUDGES PERSPECTIVE, R.I.P. Where Were You?

The Armed Forces Freedom Rally at Barb’s Harley Davidson by Bob “The Zilla” Zeigler

My buddies had been telling me for 3 years, you've got to check out this ride The Armed Forces Freedom ride. They raved about riding on a flight line at McGuire Air Force Base then going right into a party at Fort Dix. Being an old Army guy and serving our country for 8 years got me thinking about all the deployed Military men and women and wanting to show my support I got up early on Sunday morning and headed to Barbs Harley-Davidson. I had been to Barb's before and the ride is normally over an hour but on a Sunday morning it only took me under an hour. When I arrived about 8:30 the first I thing I saw form far away was a hug American flag hanging from the ladders of two fire trucks. Right away I felt patriotic. There were Camden County HOG members directing me into a huge lot already filled with hundreds of bikes. After I parked, I made my way into the dealership. There was cool music playing, Army Hummers lined up, and the bikes were rolling in one after another in groups of 8,10,12. Right away I knew this was something different, the vibe was just there! I went inside to sign up for the ride and there was a long line of people ahead of me so I decided to check out some new gloves. I saw the owner of Barbs talking with some people so I went over to tell her hello and ask if she might have some pull getting me signed-up. She introduced me to a 3 Star General, Ron Coleman, a former Marine who was having his picture taken and who also had a line of people waiting to shake his hand. I was impressed, asked Barb to take a picture and email it to me, she did. I signed up and got back outside. The crowd had grown so big I just stood there and watched the bikes roll in. Walking back to my bike I stopped and shook hands with three of the Flyers Alumni players. They were handing out Flyers bandanas and since the team is the playoffs the crowd swarmed them. you would have thought they were giving out free beer. Beings that I'm more of a football fan I did shake hands with former eagle’s player, Jon Runyun who also came rolling up ion the crowd. I found my friends but, at this point the place was packed, the bikes were lined up between cones and there was no way we could get our bikes together. We got in the food line for some breakfast then forced our way back into the store. My friends did the right thing and signed up ahead of time but the employees were struggling at this point to keep up with the more then 600 people who decided to wait until the last minute.

First the Pledge of Allegiance was said then we were introduced to the 3 Star General, several Colonel's from McGuire Air Force Base, a commander Sergeant Major form Fort Dix and some volunteers who helped organize the ride. There was a blessing of the bikes, the General and the Colonel's spoke to the crowd and barb gave us all a thank you for supporting the troops. Kickstands went up just after 10 am and the parade of approximately 1200 motorcycles started. Led by State and local Police along with two Army Hummers and the Generals car. Every bike rode out under the hanging flag, there were people lining the streets waving flags and cheering us on. The DJ was playing "Born in the USA", any red blooded American had to be proud to be part of this ride. Every traffic light, intersection and entrance on RT. 295 was blocked by Police motorcycles or cars. There were people on overpasses taking pictures and jumping up and down to get our attention. We made our way through Mount Holly where there was more of the same. Now came the best part. We rode through the main gate at McGuire Air Force Base, around a circle where the bikes split then joined back together on the other side. Then we rode down and air strip and unto a flight line. There were military planes all around us. We rode for a few miles then the 500 or so bikes that were in front of me did a turn and started riding the opposite way on a second flight line directly across form me.

I looked across, then turned my head to look behind me and it looked like a moving trail of ants, all in perfect harmony. Bikes still coming on to the first flight line and bikes getting ready to exit the second flight line. I had never seen anything like this before. I wondered way I didn't listen to my friends and do this ride before. We rode right on to Fort Dix for a party with food, drinks and vendors. Great music was playing, ceremonies continued and I even got challenged to a go Kart race. There were uniformed Military walking around the base so I did some hand shaking and thanking to active duty Military. I was impressed to see at least 10 different Military, Police and Firefighter motorcycle clubs attend this ride. I got an event pin and event book, visited all the vendors and stuck around to see if I won any of the dozen door prizes or the 50/50. I also ran into some old friends form Pa. at the USO booth. The sky was blue, I just rode down a Military flight line was now at a party thanking the people who serve our country and hanging out with some old Army guys like myself. As I left the event and rode home with my friends I felt prouder then I had in a long time to be an American. God Bless the USA and thanks to Barbs Harley-Davidson and all the people who made this ride possible! Later I checked with Barb's H-D to get my facts right. The money raised form this event, $30.00 per person and the numerous corporate sponsors who participate is split between the Burlington County Military Affairs and The Philadelphia Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation.

Where Were You? IT'S OPEN SEASON AND OPEN HOUSE IN OUR KEYSTONE STATE OF PENNSYLVANIA! No, I'm not talking about hunting, fishing or real estate. I'm talking about motorcycles and dealerships. Daredevil Bubba Blackwell blasted his assortment of bikes down the asphalt at Lancaster Harley Davidson's open house on April 24. The weather, which can make or break a scheduled outside event, was fantastic! There was the aroma of BBQ chicken that filled the air, until Bubba showed off his burnout abilities. You can well imagine that pretty much killed the tasty chicken scent. Cage traffic was backed up as the riders rolled in, and rode out all day long. A pack of "colors" had stolen the show, only for a brief moment, as they roared into the parking lot. It was as if it were a scene from the Sons of Anarchy, or a documentary from the History channel.Yep, it was a "cool" sight. Needless to say, get out there and support your local dealerships. You know you've been wanting to purchase more "bling" for your bike. Help boost our economy.

FULL HOUSE" AT POKER RUN

L.A.M.A. YORK CHAPTER started the month of May off with a poker run. Sign in was at Renegade Classics on Whiteford road in York on May 1st. The event was a big "draw." Mother Nature's sunshine was a "hit" and riders "stayed" around. The Latin American Motorcycle Association was founded in 1977 in Chicago. In 1999 L.A.M.A. became an International Assoc. Quoting a paragraph off Lamayork.com website:"L.A.M.A. is a club without borders. We have evolved into an "International Humanist Association." We accept working people from all walks of life regardless of Nationality, race, color, religion, social class, gender, age, brand of motorcycle etc. We believe that it is more important to be human than to be Latin, Asian, Black, White, etc. " See You in the Fast Lane! ASK THE ATTORNEY ASK THE ATTORNEY By: Lee D. Gaber, Esquire 1-888-CYCLE-LAW LeeGaber@cycleattorney.com This month’s column is being written the day after my assistant Tammy and I attended the Annual Northampton Fire Department’s Spring Thaw Rendezvous held in Northampton, PA. This year the location was changed to the Northampton Municipal Park and both the venue and the weather could not have been better. While at the event, some old and new clients asked me why their health insurance premiums continue to rise every year along with their deductibles and co-pays, while at the same time their insurance seems to be covering fewer services? I really have no answer for why the rates continue rise, especially given that every time I read about the profits being made by the insurance companies, they always seem to be going up, yet they continue to raise premiums. However, in an effort to keep medical costs down, I recently read an article in the Philadelphia Inquirer entitled “ER? Think Twice!”. This article was about was a family whose son was taken to an emergency room, for what amounted to be a sprained finger, and then received a bill for almost $1,500.00. The parents were so livid, they decided to look into the matter further and find out why the visit was so expensive. Without going into all the details, the article essentially stated that regardless of the severity of the injury, once you walk into any emergency room, the meter starts ticking and usually in thousand dollar increments. The article went on to suggest that an increasingly popular alternative to the standard “emergency room” is the relatively new category of treatment centers known as “Urgent Care Centers”. You may have driven past one of these and not taken notice, but they are usually 24 hour facilities that serve as quasi-emergency rooms, wherein they are able to handle most emergency visits with the exception of the most serious (i.e. strokes, heart attacks, open fractures, etc.). The article indicated that had this couple taken their son to one of these clinics, the bill would have been approximately $379.00 vs. the almost $1,500.00 they were charged. The newspaper did some further investigation and found out that there are other hospitals that would have billed as much as $2,300.00 for the sprained finger, making the Urgent Care Centers that much more of a bargain. Similarly, if you ever find yourself involved in an accident and have the choice of being driven privately to a nearby hospital vs. taking an ambulance or helicopter ride, I strongly suggest that if it is obvious that your injuries are not severe, choose the private ride over an ambulance or the helicopter, as most helicopter rides start somewhere around $11,000.00 and most ambulance rides average about $1,000.00. However, if your injuries are life-threatening you want to get to the hospital by the quickest means available.

Chef FatBoy & Melody Grilled Tex-Mex Hamburgers Submitted by: Tom Bernacki, Pa. Ingredients: 2 pounds ground beef 4 tbsp. finely chopped onion 1 tbsp. cilantro (fresh is best) 8 tbsp. salsa (favorite brand or homemade) 1 tbsp. hot sauce (any hot sauce is fine – go with a family favorite) 8 slices Pepper Jack cheese (or shredded Mexican mixed cheese) 8 buns Toppings (salsa and other favorites) Directions: Mix the ground beef, onion, cilantro, salsa and hot sauce. It’s easiest to do the mixing by hand. Shape 8 burgers of equal size. Press the center down a bit, so the burgers do not puff up too much in the center. Heat grill to medium and put burgers on. Cook until the grease runs clear – or until desired doneness. Right before the burgers are done, place slices of Pepper Jack cheese on top of each burger or sprinkle on some Mexican mixed cheese. It only takes a few seconds for the cheese to melt. Serve on buns with salsa and other toppings. For those who love hot food, have some hot sauce to splash on the burgers too. While you’re heating up the grill, put some nacho chips on the grill. Those are delicious and take only seconds to heat up. Everyone enjoys munching on the chips while the burgers are cooking.

Barbecued Venison Ribs Submitted by: Jason Meece, Pa. Ingredients 2 1/2cups water 3 cups ketchup 1 tablespoon vinegar white Fortunately, I have had many clients whose injuries aren’t that severe, consisting mainly ¼ cup lemon juice ½ cup Worcestershire sauce ½ cup maple syrup 1/2cupbrown sugar 2 medium onion sliced 2 tablespoons chili of sprains, strains and road rash. In those situations, it may be best to try one of these powder ½ teaspoon salt 6 pounds venison ribs with some loin meat urgent care centers, if they are convenient to your location. This decision may also depend on whether or not you have health insurance and if so, the type of insurance you attached Black pepper have, along with your level of co-pay and/or deductible. If you are one of the fortunate Directions: Preheat oven to 325 degrees or grill. In large bowl, combine all ingredients except ribs and pepper. Blend well. Sprinfew who have excellent health coverage and know that your bills, with the exception kle ribs with pepper and additional salt. Place in 5 qt. roasting pan of maybe a small co-pay or deductible, will be covered, then take the ambulance to in double layer. On the grill use as a baste and baste often. Roast 1 the hospital. However, if you are not, then providing your own transportation and/or hour. Pour sauce over ribs. Increase heat to 350 degrees and bake visiting either your family doctor or one of these urgent care facilities instead of the until ribs just begin to char on top, about 1 1/2 hours. Turn ribs over E.R., may wind up saving you thousands of dollars, all while providing the same level of treatment that you would receive at an emergency room. Plus, if your injuries are not cover pan and bake about 30 minutes longer, until ribs are tender severe, rather than wait hours to be seen in a traditional emergency room, you are more and sauce is thick. To serve, place ribs on serving platter. Pour sauce over ribs. Makes about 6 servings. likely to be taken right away at an urgent care facility.

It is unfortunate that cost has to play into our medical decisions. However the reality is, as medical treatment becomes ever more expensive and insurance policies become more restrictive, we now must factor the cost of care into the equation. Long gone are the days of simply running to the emergency room for whatever ails us and simply paying a $25 or $50.00 co-pay. I hope you find this information informative and if you would like additional information on this topic, or any other, I can always be reached at LeeGaber@cycleattorney. com or 1-888-CYCLE-LAW (1-888-292-5352). Where Were You? WOW RIDE WITH T.R.L.R.

The TRLR (Twin Rose Lady Riders), Chapter of WOW® (Women on Wheels), headed out on a club ride starting in Centerville, Lancaster county, and ended up at the Collinsville Diner in Southern York county. It was a great day for a ride, and many members participated since hibernating this past winter. (Are we ever going to stop talking about winter 2010?) One of our “support members”, Charlie, showed me how to go geo caching. It’s similar to a treasure hunt or Letter boxing, but with a GPS. Now that was exciting. We found Casper! Action Motorsports “Why We Ride” Event

SOME OF US DREAM OF WINNING THE LOTTERY\WHILE OTHERS DREAM OF WINNING A MOTORCYCLE! Where was the Action on Easter weekend? I caught it “going on” in York at Action Motorsports. AMS held a “Why We Ride” open house on April 3rd at their new 20,000 sq. ft. facility. John Yurejefcic, co-owner, and his staff put on an event for the whole family to enjoy. Among the eXcitment was Roger Lyle from Motorcycle Xcitement Sport Bike Track Days/ Road Racing School, to answer any racing questions. Also there, signing autographs, was Brandon Robinson #44. Brandon is an AMA Pro Flat Track Racer. Prize winners were announced throughout the day with 98.5 The Peak radio broadcasting Live. The crowd grew as AMS was about to give away a new Yamaha Road Liner. To qualify for the bike give away, entries were received by writing a paragraph about “Why You Ride.” “Freedom, Friends, Family, and Brotherhood” were some of the reasons according to John Y. The drawing was random. Twenty-five people were contacted, and approximately every 15 minutes names were pulled for elimination. It all came down to the final three, and by 2:30pm they had a winner! Congratulations to John LaRose of York. John’s wife, Michelle, wasted no time hopping on the back, smiling for the cameras; while wiping her tears away. Riding Still By Rusty Sprocket Thoughtful as always, he called ahead… not for him to take for granted what he loved …heard his son say he was out with the family just for a short errand but please—come over— they’d be right back So he rode the few miles, careful as always… not for him to take for granted what he knew they loved He felt a sudden weariness as he got off his bike… found himself taking it real slow and easy climbing the old porch steps to his favorite chair… he’d rest just a bit, he told himself, ‘til his son and family got back home As he sat he thought, “I must be tired… I went and left her runnin’ out there at the end of the walk— and never even noticed ! but it won’t hurt her… not for just for this little bit… and I do love that sound…always have… maybe now in a minute, I’ll see ‘em all again….” He didn’t know when they came home to find him there facing the road…his bike still running The smile they knew so well was this one last time upon his face… his old, work-hardened hands rested on the chair arms gently cupped as though he held the grips in his palms, riding still
