Not-so Deadly Nightshade By Reene Witchard
Springtime Hues Quilt by Elizabeth Dackson
Scrappy Squares By Amber Carrillo
Playhouses Doll Quilt By Anna Chase
I designed this doll quilt with my daughter Emma (7). It was a good way to teach her some new skills and still let her be in charge of most of the creative decisions. The raw-edge appliquĂŠ lends itself to the childlike feel of the quilt. It could be translated into a larger quilt, or even used to decorate a tote bag for a teacher. This project will have you taking turns, working back and forth to create a keepsake with the child in your life.

Designer Challenge :
Woodland Tails by Sheri McCulley Studios for Riley Blake Fabrics
What says children sewing projects more than novelty fabrics! There are a myriad of prints on the market today which are cute without being too twee or old fashioned. Sometimes though it can be difficult to know how to use such fabrics in your sewing projects. Should they be used solely for fussy cutting projects or can they be used just like any other print? We asked our talented panel of designers to come up with a project or block using a piece of the Woodland Tails line by Sheri McCulley Studios for Riley Blake Fabrics. Many thanks to Meg Van Sciver, Amanda Sasikirana, Amy Gibson, Brenda Sanders, Holly DeGroot, Lynn Harris, Jeni Baker, PĂŠtra Anderson, Wendi Gratz and Tacha Bruecher. Thank you to Riley Blake Fabrics for providing the fabric for this challenge.
