NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY Proposed Flood Hazard Determinations for Prince William County, Virginia and Incorporated Areas The Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency has issued a preliminary Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM), and where applicable, Flood Insurance Study (FIS) report, reflecting proposed flood hazard determinations within Prince William County, Virginia and Incorporated Areas. These flood hazard determinations may include the addition or modification of Base Flood Elevations, base flood depths, Special Flood Hazard Area boundaries or zone designations, or the regulatory floodway. Technical information or comments are solicited on the proposed flood hazard determinations shown on the preliminary FIRM and/or FIS report for Prince William County, Virginia and Incorporated Areas. These flood hazard determinations are the basis for the floodplain management measures that your community is required to either adopt or show evidence of being already in effect in order to qualify or remain qualified for participation in the National Flood Insurance Program. However, before these determinations are effective for floodplain management purposes, you will be provided an opportunity to appeal the proposed information. Request for Proposals At the Manassas City Council meeting on Monday, June 12, 2023 the City Council will accept bids pursuant to Virginia Code Sec. 15.2-2101 from persons interested in obtaining a City-wide nonexclusive franchise for the installation, operation and maintenance of underground telecommunication conduits in public right-of-way within the City of Manassas. The term of the franchise will be twenty (20) years, subject to such other terms and conditions as are set forth within the proposed franchise ordinance, the full text of which is on file in the Office of the Clerk of City Council. The minimum acceptable fee for the conduit franchise shall be no less than $1.00 for each linear foot of each conduit installed within any City right-of-way. Interested parties are invited to submit bids for the conduit franchise. Bids must be in writing and should be delivered to the Clerk of City Council, Piedmont Building, 9324 West Street, 4th Floor, Manassas, Virginia 20110, in a sealed envelope, on or before June 12, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. Each bid shall describe the benefits, financial, and otherwise, that the bidder offers to the City in return for the privileges set forth in the proposed franchise, and shall identify the bidder by name.
