CONSTRUCTION OF THE INSIDE OF THE DIGIPAK

This is my flat plan I designed for the inside of my digipak. I plan to include kaleidoscope images as I have used them throughout the front of my digipak and my magazine advert. I am also including photos of Siobhan inside to carry through the theme. Conventionally I am also carrying through a similar colour scheme to the front of the digipak, being pink, red & purple. I plan on placing a note from the artist of the right panel, so it will let the buyer gain something back from the DJ FLUME. I am also going to place the CD in the middle so there is symmetry within the design.

THE TWO FINAL IMAGES

These are my two final images to go on the left and right panel inside the digipak. Whilst editing these I made sure the colour scheme matched so that they would tie together. I also included a kaleidoscope effect on the edge to connect them to the middle panel.

Here I have begun experimenting with the note from the artist. I produced this on ‘Pic Monkey’, an online editing site. On the left I have used a slim hand writing style font, but I don’t think you can read it easily, so instead I used my previous font that I had designed myself. This is definitely easier to read, but I am concerned that it may not fit in with the font I have already used on the back and front cover of the digipak. When adding text to this page I will make it either a light pink or white as I want it to stand out and be easy to read for the viewer.

This is the editing of my middle panel. I have used my previous kaleidoscope image as it ties in with my music video and magazine advert. I edited the image on ‘Pic Monkey’ and made it purple to connect to the images that I will place on either side. I then placed the centre of the image in the middle so it was symmetrical.

To show this is where the actual CD will be placed I have added a circle of dots to indicate this. I chose the pink colour from the images of Siobhan to help tie all the aesthetics together. The kaleidoscope effect works well in the middle of the circle as the shape implies the shape and cut of CD.

I placed the text on this image, on the program InDesign, as it’s easy to add text and make it look exact and professional.

Here I have added the text again, but in a preferred font, (Gill Sans Light). As I have used this font on my magazine advert and also the outside of my digipak, so it helps to tie it all together. I placed the text in a hexagon shape so that I can place it well in the shape available.

This is my final design for the inside of my digipak. I am happy with the layout as all the images tie in together and the photographs of Siobhan contrast with the purple background. I also think the text is well placed and is easy to read. I will gain feedback in my focus group to see if an audience think the results of this design are successful.
