888 COLLECTION LIMITED EDITIONS
Art of distinction
We have created the 888 Collection for discerning art lovers who know the value and luxury of an original painting but who may not be able to afford an original each time they make an acquisition. This carefully curated collection does not compromise on style of imagery, content or quality and offers enticing possibilities for bringing beautiful art to all kinds of living spaces and work environments whether you are starting a new collection or extending an existing one. Our Giclées are created to Rosenstiels’ high standards on archival 250 GSM paper with the artist’s signature printed in the border. These are then hand numbered from the edition of 888. In our quest to produce the highest possible quality of reproduction we have developed an exclusive Giclée printing process that achieves remarkable faithfulness to the original.

Born and raised in London, the son of Shakespearian actor John Burgess, artist Andy Burgess originally studied political science at Leeds University before embarking on a career in art. Describing the style of his collage as “Pop Geometry” Burgess references a golden age of American advertising and graphic design from the 1930’s to 1960’s with it’s witty typographic flourishes and stylish Art Deco influences. The geometric impulse in the collage reflects Burgess’s ongoing fascination with early Twentieth Century art movements such as Bauhaus and Russian Constructivism which inspire his strong sense of graphic and architectural design.

Melissa Wenke creates work intended to give pure visual pleasure beyond the idea of ‘understanding’ it. She is fascinated in the ways that people respond to art and include it in their daily lives. Her very physical collaged technique of making art leaves reason behind and works according to instinct and energy. With bold use of colour and texture the work conveys a vigorous and youthful take on beauty. Bringing appealing fine art to a wide audience has been a central theme for Melissa throughout her career.

Ray Hartl has spent most of his adult life interpreting the beauty of this world with his camera. He has travelled and photographed extensively throughout the United States, the Canadian Maritime Provinces, Great Britain, Germany, France, Italy and Mexico. His wide-ranging interests include landscape, architecture, the human form, and most recently this striking new series of equine studies. Ray’s equine photographs are a contemporary interpretation of a classic subject. As figure studies, these photographs depict forms that are both sculptural and sensual. He seeks to reveal the grace, dignity and intelligence communicated through the body language of these fascinating animals.

Pamela Nielsen’s deZigns will captivate your senses. She loves to work in vibrant and unexpected colour combinations, enriched with expressive texture, energy and movement. The fluidity of her strokes suggests sensuality, spirituality, and an almost primal ‘no-boundaries’ approach to colour. Pamela was born in Toronto in 1959 and moved to Salt Lake City at the age of eleven. Loving the arts of every kind, she dabbled in pastels, calligraphy, cartoons, and even ventured into piano performance playing a concerto at the 1974 Spokane World’s Fair. She then took up singing, acting and television work. In 2003 she was inspired by painting with acrylics on metals, acrylic, glass, and wood among other surfaces. Never having painted before, and trusting the process, a new art form emerged. The themes and titles of many of Pamela’s deZigns are inspired by emotions and colours connected to the Chakras ‘Painting these vibrant colours literally shifted my energy to a higher consciousness.’

After studying at Canterbury College of Art, Derek Rangecroft moved to London to pursue a career in advertising as an art director. He worked in a variety of London advertising agencies for a period of 21 years before moving to the country. The change of location inspired him to write and illustrate a series of children’s books which were published in Britain, America and Australia. Since moving back to London Derek has concentrated on his personal work. Derek uses the medium of digital photography to produce original art pieces that find beauty in unexpected places and which turn the ordinary into the extraordinary. He enjoys working in a myriad of techniques that include masking, montage, re-configuration, colour overlays and assemblage.

Fred PĂŠault originally trained as an industrial designer. Having worked on the design of a train, he then fell in love with a woman who as if by magic, transformed him into an illustrator! In order to thank her for her efforts, he married her and as he says so sweetly, they have even designed two beautiful children together. PĂŠault is fascinated with colour and the camera angle, which gives his work a more cinematographic perspective. He tells the story of everyday life through his meticulous 3D illustrations, which are clean, decisive, meticulous and super colourful.

Richard Young began oil painting at the age of 12. Since that early start he has extensively developed his own personal style through exhaustive self-tuition and long periods of ‘burning the midnight oil.’ Richard describes his artwork as heading towards contemporary realism, influenced and inspired by the romanticism of his favourite Post-Renaissance Masters. Light plays a very important part in his work with his signature high contrast dramatic lighting, adding depth to the original work. Richard currently applies paint directly onto the canvas with a palette knife, favouring a fairly limited colour palette and mixing the colours in a direct and expressive way. His original work is now carried by galleries spread throughout the World.
