Equally important is assisting homeless individuals in accessing housing, particularly after arrest or incarceration.

The Vera Institute of Justice recommends that public housing authorities evaluate applicants on an individual basis, considering factors beyond their criminal history. This approach opens up housing opportunities for those who have served their sentences and are striving to reintegrate into society.

In essence, breaking the homeless-crime cycle involves a more compassionate and individualized approach that not only addresses immediate shelter needs but also seeks to prevent homelessness in the first place.

Parker Center, a mid-century modern architectural landmark, served as the LAPD’s headquarters for decades before closing in 2009.

Neighbornest is a initiative that offers stable housing along with a caring community for young adults who have experienced prolonged homelessness. This project aims to create a housing solution that not only assists individuals transitioning from life on the streets but also engages the local community in a culture of support for the homeless. This transformative housing program is driven by a commitment to compassionately assist our neighbors who have faced homelessness, while also inspiring those around to actively contribute to the well-being of individuals in need.
