HEY GIRL HEY
HOLLER POODLES! Let’s face it ladies. We don’t start off our careers looking as fierce as we do now. We all have mentors, teachers, drag mothers and inspiration that we draw from to learn our art form. Makeup is one of those skills that is necessary but can be difficult to learn if you don’t have one of those individuals in place to teach you. Therefore I am excited to announce the following…. Attention aspiring drag queens!! Coming up June 20th I will be teaching “BEGINNING DRAG MAKEUP 101,” a hands on intensive class for those who are new to the art of drag or those who would like to brush up on their skills. The class fee will be $100 and will be held from 12p-4pm at Atlanta Costume (2089 Monroe Dr NE, Atlanta, GA) with limited enrollment. Call (404) 874-7511 with your $50 deposit to secure your spot. Included in your class fee is a makeup kit that includes a Ben Nye 4 Shadow Palette with 4 colors, black liquid eyeliner and a lip liner pencil. Students are required to bring the following items for use in the classroom (Cream/Stick Foundation, Loose Face Powder, Large Powder Puff, Makeup Brush Kit, #301 Eyelashes, Eyelash Glue, Makeup Remover or Baby Oil, Baby Wipes and Lipstick. All of these items can be purchased at Atlanta Costume or you can bring your own supplies. If you are not familiar with these products, I recommend talking with one of their experienced professionals for a recommendation.
Mary Edith’Pitts Pro Tip: SPONSORED BY NORCOSTCO ATLANTA COSTUME JUST IN: Atlanta Costume has obtained a limited supply of badger hair makeup brushes. These brushes are a GREAT starter set for newcomers and are recommended for the BEGINNING DRAG MAKEUP 101 class I will be teaching on June 20th at Atlanta Costume. Badger brushes are so soft and allow you to blend to an airbrushed finish with minimal work. The cost is only $50 for 17 brushes, a brush holder & travel pouch.
The class will cover basic eyebrow cover up, foundation application, detailed contouring, eye shaping and eyeshadows, brow shaping, blush and most importantly BLENDING!!! We will also touch on the different styles of drag from glamour, camp and club kid looks but the focus of this class will be glamour. For the more experienced drag queen, I will be offering an Intermediate Drag Makeup 102 course in July. Look for details here. Drag, if done well, is an investment. So many queens put so much time and energy into their costumes, hair, shoes, etc.-this is a great investment in refining your makeup artistry. My goal with this course is to not only teach you technique but why it is done this way. I hope to see you there!
Love and lashes,
Mary Edith Pitts Mary Edith Pitts

US CONGRESSMAN CAUGHT WITH PANTS DOWN Former Speaker of the US House of Representatives Dennis Hastert has allegedly agreed to silence a former male student he’d sexually abused by buying him off with a potential $3.5 million. Hastert, 73, was officially indicted this week when it was discovered he lied to federal officials about suspicious cash withdrawals. The payments were relative to his career as a high school wrestling coach during the years 1965 to 1981. The Los Angeles Times reported a source as saying, ‘It was sex.’ Hastert and his former student allegedly made the agreement back in 2010. Since then, Hastert paid the victim $50,000 every six weeks resulting in a $1.7 million payout. Married to a woman, Hastert has two children. He is “charged with one count each of structuring currency transactions to evade currency transaction reports and making a false statement to the FBI.” If convicted, he could serve multiple years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
Hastert still holds the record as the longest-serving Republican Speaker. Since his indictment, he resigned from his Dickstein Shapiro lobbyist position. During his time in office, Hastert voted against same-sex marriage in favor of legislation, which would outlaw same-sex couples from pursuing matrimony.
GAY VALEDICTORIAN BULLIED BY SCHOOL

A charter school in Longmont, Colorado has face much backlash for its recent decision to stop a class valedictorian from giving a graduation speech in which he planned to reveal he’s gay. 18-year-old Evan Young, a graduating senior at Longmont’s Twin Peaks Charter Academy High School, and his father told the Associated Press that they weren’t notified until just a few minutes before the ceremony that Evan would be barred from speaking and would no longer be recognized as valedictorian. Young complied with several edits by the school principal prior to graduation. Yet, he refused to omit the part admitting he was gay. Young said he had emailed the speech with other suggested changes to the proper school officials, but they were 40: June 5, 2015

liberal and he thinks they are totally OK with it, he was ‘not OK with it.’”
‘My main theme is that you’re supposed to be respectful of people, even if you don’t agree with them. I figured my gayness would be a very good way to address that,’ the student with a 4.5 GPA and a scholarship awaiting him at Rutgers University said.
He added, ‘I think what it mainly showed is that he (the principal) didn’t have a lot of sympathy for me, or someone in my position. He didn’t understand how personal a thing it was, and that I wasn’t just going to share it with people randomly, for no reason. I thought it was very inconsiderate for him to do something like that, especially without asking me first.’
Prior to the graduation ceremony, the principal called Young’s father about the speech and outed him to his parents in the process. “Young said that while parents are very
STONEWALL OFFICIALLY GOES DOWN IN HISTORY The Stonewall Inn has officially begun the process of being New York City’s first LGBTI historical landmark. As reported by the New York Times, on Tuesday June 2, the city Landmark Preservation Commission voted to include the building in its calendar of upcoming projects. “Once a property is put on the commission’s calendar, the road to landmark status is virtually assured.”
A statement released by the school’s board of directors stated that Young had failed to abide by pre-screening rules
Stonewall is located on Christopher Street, in the Greenwich Village neighborhood. “The agency has been working on this for some time and LGBT pride month is an ideal occasion to recommend this iconic cultural landmark,’ Meenakshi Srinivasan, the commission’s chair, said in a statement, according to the New York Times.”
and also ‘failed to follow guidelines of the evening by removing the sleeves of his graduation gown.’ It added that pulling his speech was done to ‘protect the solemnity of the evening and to preserve and protect the mission of the school.’ The school also objected to Young’s speech because it ‘was condescending toward the school and the student’s peers and including, among other things, ridiculing comments about faculty and students.’
marches against the city’s officials that lasted for days. In Stonewall’s honor, the first ever pride parade was held a year later.

PENTAGON HEARTS SEXUAL PREFERENCE
With the impending US Supreme Court’s decision on legalizing same-sex marriage, The Pentagon is preparing to follow suit and update its Military Equal Opportunity policy. This surprising update will include “sexual orientation as a protected class.”
The change will be made nearing the end of next month, marking almost four years since the official end of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell. The American Military Partner Association (AMPA), our nation’s largest organization of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender military families cite the new order as a long-awaited and welcomed change. “This is incredibly important and welcome news for our service members and their families,” says AMPA President Ashley Broadway-Mack. The MEO policy as of now, consists of “race, color, religion, age, physical or mental disability, sex and national origin.” The AMPA next has its sights set on having transgender people openly serving and being protected against discernment within the highest ranks. “We again urge Secretary Carter to also order a full and comprehensive review to update the outdated regulations that prevent transgender service members from serving openly and honestly,” Broadway-Mack said. “It’s just as important to our LGBT military families that these same protections be extended based on gender identity.”

Leave Rob Alone
Despite constant reports, Rob Kardashian has not checked into rehab. A Florida tabloid has printed claims that the 28-year-old Keeping Up With the Kardashians brother checked into a 60-day program located in Palm Beach. Momager Kris Jenner shut down the speculation immediately citing the report is “false,” stating point blank, “Rob is not in rehab.” Just like the rest of his family, Rob is no stranger to having erroneous reports printed about him. In April of last year, specific tabloids alleged he was at the Meadows Trauma and Addiction rehabilitation center in Wickenburg, Ariz., suggesting the need for depression and substance abuse treatment. Rob was actually in L.A. at the time of the false claim. Although he hasn’t sought treatment yet, his family is still concerned about him. In an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, which aired last fall, Kris told cameras, “I feel like if I don’t help him do something drastic, that he’s gonna die,” Kris Jenner said. “He’s gained over 100 pounds in the last year...He doesn’t go out of the house. He’s missed Christmas, he missed Kim’s wedding.”Big sis Kim also showed concern, stating her younger brother “obviously has some kind of depression.” In an interview with Today’s Matt Lauer she said Rob is “just going through a phase where he’s not comfortable in his own skin,” adding, “and he is working really hard to get back to where he really wants to be.”
Snooki Fights Back
The Jersey Shore alum is releasing a new book, Baby Bumps. However, some social media users are not showing love for her new project. One Instagram user commented on one of the Snooki’s pictures with nothing nice to proffer “No matter how much people change, I find it hard to take advice on living a positive life from someone who used to pee outside of their house and face plant into the sand because they were so wasted. Smh,” the user wrote. Being the spitfire that she is, Snooki met the comment head on. A mother of two, Snooki doesn’t have time for haters these days. She called out the anonymous user and explained her reasoning behind the book venture. “This is the perfect example of why I wanted to write my new book. What I did 6 years ago at 21 doesn’t define who I am today, nor will I take s--t from a stranger who doesn’t know who I am,” she wrote. “Rise above the hate, the judgmental people, and live the best, healthy positive life that you can. Of course you are going to be a drunk slob at some point in your life, but you grow older and wiser and learn what’s important in life.” She continued, “I’ve done that and my kids are my world. I work out, I’m a strong, happy mom and I want to show you that you can change and become a better person, regardless of the nay Sayers that say you can’t. Sorry girl for using you as an example, but you asked for it. XOOX love yourself and stay positive, nomatter what!” You go girl!
Naughty Multitasker Kellan Lutz is one horny fellow. He’s got one thing on his mind, hooking up with Valerie Cherish from The Comeback. Lutz, who is the host of Fox’s new reality competition Bullseye, recently revealed he wants The Comeback to come back (again) so his character Chris can get it on with Lisa Kudrow’s Valerie Cherish. Although, season two ended with Val and her husband Marky Mark (Damian Young) reunited, but Chris got real suggestive with Val about a certain backdoor. “When they first announced they were doing the sequel to The Comeback, I emailed [co-creator] Michael Patrick King right away. I’m like, ‘Hey, I would love to be a part of the show again, love to bring my character back, even for one episode,” Lutz said. “I don’t know if you’re thinking about that, but your show started everything for me and working with Lisa, Michael, Dan, Malin—everyone—I will always cherish those memories. I had the best time working with them.’”As for his new TV project, Lutz is getting down and dirty. The only reason he is hosting the show is because he convinced producers to let him participate in the stunts (drool). After all, Kellan is a bonafide, hunky action star! Bullseye premieres Wednesday, June 3 at 9 p.m. on Fox

Costar McLovin’
Rachel McAdams is letting the world know what she really thought of Jake Gyllenhaal’s deliciously ripped body while they were filming their upcoming movie Southpaw. The 34-year-old got incredibly buff for his role as a boxer. His insane workout routine included 6-hour workouts, 2000 sit-ups and gaining lots of muscle. Yet, McAdams was somewhat intimidated by all that brawn. “I was a little scared too!” McAdams revealed in an interview at a West Hollywood screening for her new flick Aloha. “He’s a beast. He’s a real animal. I haven’t seen it yet so I can’t totally comment but just watching from the sidelines he just worked so hard. I think his work is going to reflect that. It was extraordinary.” McAdams says Gyllenhaal’s was something to watch. “He’d get up in the morning and run eight miles and then run twice a day and then rehearse. He was a machine,” she said. She playfully added, “And I was just filing my nails pretending not to notice. No, it was great.” McAdams is getting around with these gorgeous leading men. The 36-year-old blond bombshell also gushed about working with Bradley Cooper in Aloha. “He’s everything you imagine him to be and more. He’s not hard on the eyes,” she said. “I think he’s one of the hardest working actors out there right now and he doesn’t even need to be, he’s got this sheer talent he could just sort of rest on his laurels but he doesn’t. He works very, very hard. He’s very smart and very, very committed.”
