Ask your healthcare provider if ODEFSEY is right for you. To learn more visit ODEFSEY.com
Please see Brief Summary of Patient Information with important warnings on the adjacent pages.
Brief Summary of Patient Information about ODEFSEY ODEFSEY (oh-DEF-see) (emtricitabine, rilpivirine and tenofovir alafenamide) tablets Important: Ask your healthcare provider or pharmacist about medicines that should not be taken with ODEFSEY. There may be new information about ODEFSEY. This information is only a summary and does not take the place of talking with your healthcare provider about your medical condition or treatment. What is the most important information I should know about ODEFSEY? ODEFSEY can cause serious side effects, including: • Build-up of lactic acid in your blood (lactic acidosis). Lactic acidosis may happen in some people who take ODEFSEY or similar medicines. Lactic acidosis is a serious medical emergency that can lead to death. Lactic acidosis can be hard to identify early, because the symptoms could seem like symptoms of other health problems. Call your healthcare provider right away if you get any of the following symptoms which could be signs of lactic acidosis: – feel very weak or tired – have unusual (not normal) muscle pain – have trouble breathing – have stomach pain with nausea or vomiting – feel cold, especially in your arms and legs – feel dizzy or lightheaded – have a fast or irregular heartbeat • Severe liver problems. Severe liver problems may happen in people who take ODEFSEY. In some cases, these liver problems can lead to death. Your liver may become large and you may develop fat in your liver. Call your healthcare provider right away if you get any of the following symptoms of liver problems: – your skin or the white part of your eyes turns yellow (jaundice) – dark “tea-colored” urine – light-colored bowel movements (stools) – loss of appetite – nausea – pain, aching, or tenderness on the right side of your stomach area • You may be more likely to get lactic acidosis or severe liver problems if you are female, very overweight (obese), or have been taking ODEFSEY or a similar medicine for a long time. • Worsening of Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. ODEFSEY is not approved to treat HBV. If you have HBV and take ODEFSEY, your HBV may get worse (flare-up) if you stop taking ODEFSEY. A “flare-up” is when your HBV infection suddenly returns in a worse way than before. – Do not run out of ODEFSEY. Refill your prescription or talk to your healthcare provider before your ODEFSEY is all gone. – Do not stop taking ODEFSEY without first talking to your healthcare provider. – If you stop taking ODEFSEY, your healthcare provider will need to check your health often and do blood tests regularly for several months to check your HBV infection. Tell your healthcare provider about any new or unusual symptoms you may have after you stop taking ODEFSEY.
What is ODEFSEY? ODEFSEY is a prescription medicine that is used to treat HIV-1 in people 12 years of age and older: • who have not received HIV-1 medicines in the past and have an amount of HIV-1 in their blood (“viral load”) that is no more than 100,000 copies/mL, or • to replace their current HIV-1 medicines in people who have been on the same HIV-1 medicines for at least 6 months, have a viral load that is less than 50 copies/mL, and have never failed past HIV-1 treatment. It is not known if ODEFSEY is safe and effective in children under 12 years of age or who weigh less than 77 lb (35 kg). When used to treat HIV-1 infection, ODEFSEY may help: • Reduce the amount of HIV-1 in your blood. This is called “viral load”. • Increase the number of CD4+ (T) cells in your blood that help fight off other infections. Reducing the amount of HIV-1 and increasing the CD4+ (T) cells in your blood may help improve your immune system. This may reduce your risk of death or getting infections that can happen when your immune system is weak (opportunistic infections). ODEFSEY does not cure HIV-1 infection or AIDS. You must keep taking HIV-1 medicines to control HIV-1 infection and decrease HIV-related illnesses. Ask your healthcare provider about how to prevent passing HIV-1 to others. Do not share or re-use needles, injection equipment, or personal items that can have blood or body fluids on them. Do not have sex without protection. Always practice safer sex by using a latex or polyurethane condom to lower the chance of sexual contact with semen, vaginal secretions, or blood.
Who should not take ODEFSEY? Do not take ODEFSEY if you also take a medicine that contains: • carbamazepine (Carbatrol®, Epitol®, Equetro ®, Tegretol®, Tegretol-XR®, Teril®) • dexamethasone (Ozurdex®, Maxidex®, Decadron®, BaycadronTM) • dexlansoprazole (Dexilant®) • esomeprazole (Nexium®, Vimovo ®) • lansoprazole (Prevacid®) • omeprazole (Prilosec ®, Zegerid®) • oxcarbazepine (Trileptal®) • pantoprazole sodium (Protonix®) • phenobarbital (Luminal®) • phenytoin (Dilantin®, Dilantin-125 ®, Phenytek®) • rabeprazole (Aciphex®) • rifampin (Rifadin®, Rifamate®, Rifater®, Rimactane®) • rifapentine (Priftin®) • the herb St. John’s wort or a product that contains St. John’s wort
What should I tell my healthcare provider before taking ODEFSEY? Before taking ODEFSEY, tell your healthcare provider if you: • have liver problems including hepatitis B or C virus infection • have kidney and bone problems • have had depression or suicidal thoughts • have any other medical conditions • are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. It is not known if ODEFSEY can harm your unborn baby. Tell your healthcare provider if you become pregnant while taking ODEFSEY.
Pregnancy registry: there is a pregnancy registry for women who take HIV-1 medicines during pregnancy. The purpose of this registry is to collect information about the health of you and your baby. Talk with your healthcare provider about how you can take part in this registry. • are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed. Do not breastfeed if you take ODEFSEY. – You should not breastfeed if you have HIV-1 because of the risk of passing HIV-1 to your baby. – At least one of the medicines in ODEFSEY can pass to your baby in your breast milk. It is not known if the other medicines in ODEFSEY can pass into your breast milk. – Talk with your healthcare provider about the best way to feed your baby. Tell your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements. Some medicines may interact with ODEFSEY. Keep a list of your medicines and show it to your healthcare provider and pharmacist when you get a new medicine. • You can ask your healthcare provider or pharmacist for a list of medicines that interact with ODEFSEY. • Do not start a new medicine without telling your healthcare provider. Your healthcare provider can tell you if it is safe to take ODEFSEY with other medicines. How should I take ODEFSEY? • Take ODEFSEY exactly as your healthcare provider tells you to take
• •
• • •
it. ODEFSEY is taken by itself (not with other HIV-1 medicines) to treat HIV-1 infection. Take ODEFSEY 1 time each day with a meal. Do not change your dose or stop taking ODEFSEY without first talking with your healthcare provider. Stay under a healthcare provider’s care when taking ODEFSEY. Do not miss a dose of ODEFSEY. If you take too much ODEFSEY, call your healthcare provider or go to the nearest hospital emergency room right away. When your ODEFSEY supply starts to run low, get more from your healthcare provider or pharmacy. This is very important because the amount of virus in your blood may increase if the medicine is stopped for even a short time. The virus may develop resistance to ODEFSEY and become harder to treat.
What are the possible side effects of ODEFSEY? ODEFSEY may cause serious side effects, including: • See “What is the most important information I should know about ODEFSEY?” • Severe skin rash and allergic reactions. Skin rash is a common side effect of ODEFSEY. Rash can be serious. Call your healthcare provider right away if you get a rash. In some cases, rash and allergic reaction may need to be treated in a hospital. If you get a rash with any of the following symptoms, stop taking ODEFSEY and call your healthcare provider right away: – fever – skin blisters – mouth sores – redness or swelling of the eyes (conjunctivitis) – swelling of the face, lips, mouth or throat – trouble breathing or swallowing – pain on the right side of the stomach (abdominal) area – dark “tea-colored” urine
• Depression or mood changes. Tell your healthcare provider right
away if you have any of the following symptoms: – feel sad or hopeless – feel anxious or restless – have thoughts of hurting yourself (suicide) or have tried to hurt yourself • Change in liver enzymes. People with a history of hepatitis B or C virus infection or who have certain liver enzyme changes may have an increased risk of developing new or worsening liver problems during treatment with ODEFSEY. Liver problems can also happen during treatment with ODEFSEY in people without a history of liver disease. Your healthcare provider may need to do tests to check your liver enzymes before and during treatment with ODEFSEY. • Changes in body fat can happen in people who take HIV-1 medicine. These changes may include increased amount of fat in the upper back and neck (“buffalo hump”), breast, and around the middle of your body (trunk). Loss of fat from the legs, arms and face may also happen. The exact cause and long-term health effects of these conditions are not known. • Changes in your immune system (Immune Reconstitution Syndrome) can happen when you start taking HIV-1 medicines. Your immune system may get stronger and begin to fight infections that have been hidden in your body for a long time. Tell your healthcare provider right away if you start having any new symptoms after starting your HIV-1 medicine. • New or worse kidney problems, including kidney failure. Your healthcare provider should do blood and urine tests to check your kidneys before you start and while you are taking ODEFSEY. Your healthcare provider may tell you to stop taking ODEFSEY if you develop new or worse kidney problems. • Bone problems can happen in some people who take ODEFSEY. Bone problems may include bone pain, softening or thinning (which may lead to fractures). Your healthcare provider may need to do tests to check your bones. The most common side effects of rilpivirine, one of the medicines in ODEFSEY, are depression, trouble sleeping (insomnia), and headache. The most common side effect of emtricitabine and tenofovir alafenamide, two of the medicines in ODEFSEY, is nausea. Tell your healthcare provider if you have any side effect that bothers you or that does not go away. • These are not all the possible side effects of ODEFSEY. For more information, ask your healthcare provider or pharmacist. • Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects. You may report side effects to FDA at 1-800-FDA-1088. This Brief Summary summarizes the most important information about ODEFSEY. If you would like more information, talk with your healthcare provider. You can ask your healthcare provider or pharmacist for information about ODEFSEY that is written for health professionals. For more information, call 1-800-445-3235 or go to www.ODEFSEY.com. It can either be used in people who are starting HIV-1 treatment and have never taken HIV-1 medicines before, or people who are replacing their current HIV-1 medicines and whose healthcare provider determines they meet certain requirements. These include having an undetectable viral load (less than 50 copies/mL) for 6 months or more on their current HIV-1 treatment. GENVOYA combines 4 medicines into 1 pill taken once a day with food. GENVOYA is a complete HIV-1 treatment and should not be used with other HIV-1 medicines. GENVOYA does not cure HIV-1 or AIDS. To control HIV-1 infection and decrease HIV-related illnesses, you must keep taking GENVOYA. GUY SCHEIMAN Says A Little Prayer
Unleashes a Circuit Version of The Classic 60’s Track
Fifty years after “I Say A Little Prayer” became one of Dionne Warwick’s biggest hits, DJ Guy Scheiman is releasing a new interpretation for today’s dance floor, featuring the vocal styling of Katherine Ellis. “I’ve always loved the song’s lyrics about love and hope between two people,” says Guy Scheiman from his home in Israel. “I wanted to make a pumping new version for today’s clubs. I brought in Katherine because she is a powerhouse diva with amazing vocals and experience. She did an incredible job on the record.” The original song appeared on Warwick’s The Windows of the World album, reached number four on the Billboard 100 chart, and was later re-recorded by Aretha Franklyn. “Clubbers love classic covers reimagined with upbeat versions,” Scheiman continues. In his version, renamed ‘Say A Little Prayer’, Scheiman lays down a lush cushion for Ellis, inventing new
high energy beats that help to shape the classic R&B track into something more suitable for modern dance floors; a sure-fire arm raiser. Guy Scheiman is one of the most successful young DJs and producers on today’s international club scene. His remixes have been commissioned by some of the world’s biggest and most reputable record labels for artists like Cher, Kylie Minogue, Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, and Flo Rida. He’s had twenty Top 10 Billboard hits and ten #1s,

Last year, Guy Scheiman began shifting his focus to original productions for his newly formed record label, Guy Scheiman Music. His most recent releases include “Alive”, featuring U.K singer Hannah Gold and “All Around the World” featuring Michal S. Vocalist Katherine Ellis is also no stranger to club music either. She’s worked with some of the biggest names in dance on huge club hits like ‘When You Touch Me’ with The Freemasons and ‘Lost’ with
Roger Sanchez. She’s the third member of the band Bimbo Jones and has toured with Belinda Carlisle, Chaka Khan and Boy George. Guy Scheiman’s “Say A Little Prayer” featuring Katherine Ellis is available on iTunes now. Visit guy-scheiman.com.

INTERVIEW
BY JANINE DEFANO
JASON WALKER IS SO HAPPY “SO HAPPY” RISES ON THE CHARTS think that is? Everything moves quicker these days. Life moves quicker. It’s kind of scary! Social media has just made everything so accessible. There are aspects of that that I think are great, but at times, slow would be nice. Time to enjoy the present would be nice, instead of always focusing on what’s next. Is that what you really want? Honestly, I have conflicting feelings. I enjoy my rainy days with Tori Amos, but going to see Danny Tenaglia really puts me over the edge.
Jason Walker has a lot to be “So Happy”
about these days. His latest track – a collaboration with two-time Grammy nominated dance producer Tony Moran and gospel singer turned electronic dance music phenomenon (for his work with David Guetta) Chris Willis – is already in the top 20 on Billboard & rising. The song is a feel-good track, because, as Jason explains, “With all that’s happening in the world today, isn’t that what everyone wants? The dance floor is my happy place,” he continues. “It’s where I can forget my troubles and let the music take over. For me, music is the universal truth and when a hard beat pulses through my body, there is simply no better feeling than that. My hope is that ‘So Happy’ lifts listeners to their own place of pure joy.” Jason Walker grew up in Pittsburgh, singing in church choirs and local R&B and Blues bands. He first shined on the national spotlight with a winning performance on TV’s “It’s Show Time at the Apollo”. Since then, he’s had

seven Top Ten songs including two #1s (“Foolish Mind Games” and “Set It Free”). “I am truly the definition of So Happy”, reflects Jason Walker. “In my career, I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with all the dance greats from Junior Vasquez to Bimbo Jones, and now Tony Moran!“ We spoke with him from his home in New York. To start with, you must be so happy with how the song is doing. This record was the biggest project that I’ve ever undertaken. So much love and attention from both Tony (Moran) and myself and the video director Karl Giant went into it! We really poured all of ourselves into it. As far as the chart goes, I’m just grateful. It’s risen up the charts really quickly! It began as a #1 Breakout Record, then the Hot Shot Debut, then it was the chart’s Power Pick! It used to be that a song would gradually climb to the top ten and then remain there for weeks. Now it seems like top songs rise quickly but then fall off the charts just as fast. Why do you
You’re a king of dance. Could you see yourself ever dabbling in another genre of music? Sure, I “dabble”. (Laughs) I think I’m a pretty well rounded singer. My roots are in Soul, and I try to inject that into everything that I do. I released a pop album in 2010 called “Leave It All Behind” and stretched out a little, but I’ve actually been working on a Soul album for the past five years. Five years is a long time in music! Yes, but Soul’s a completely different world, especially when you are dealing with live musicians. It’s a process. But it’ll be worth it when it’s ready. You’ve worked with so many of the dance greats from Kristine W, Junior Vasquez to now Tony Moran. Is there anyone you’ve missed that you would love to work with? I have a list - hanging on my wall, in fact – of all the people in the dance world I would love to work with some day. Guys like TILT, Chicane, Danny Tenaglia, Louis Vega, David Morales, Bob Sinclair, Dave Aude, Rosabel, Tiesto, Kaskade, Afrojack… Oh, there are tons and all because they are masters at their crafts. And in the pop world: T Bone Burnett. What are you most looking forward to this summer? Sunshine and beats. Visit JasonWalkerMusic.com

Spiritual Fitness
Spiritual Fitness is a term I use to describe a person’s overall spiritual health. Spirituality is that which gives meaning and purpose in life, or the term may be used specifically to refer to the practice of a philosophy, religion, or way. Some common indicators to know if you are Spiritually Fit are: Engaged in life’s meaning/purpose, Hopeful about life/future, Makes sound moral decisions, Fully engaged with family, friends, and community, Able to forgive self and others, Respectful of others, and Engaged in core values/beliefs. Some common indicators to know if you may need improvements are: Losing a sense of life’s meaning/purpose, Holds very little or no hope about life/future, Makes poor moral decisions routinely, Weakly engaged with family, friends, and community, Not likely to forgive self or others; or forgivess is not an option, Strong or complete disrespect for others, Disregards core values/beliefs.
The religious aspect of spiritual fitness refers to the faith and hope you have as it pertains to your soul. It include activities that connects one to the Divine, the God, and/or the supernatural. A few examples of the activites that can help one with their spiritual fitness are prayer, workship in church, faith and belief in the Divine. The human aspect of spiritual fitness doesn’t really involve religion but it can have a major effect on the individual. This aspect of spiritual titness for me personally was a challenge. I have always believed in God and I know that without Him nothing is possible. My mother and grandmother has always had me in church since I was young. Therefore the religious approach was not too hard. Over the last couple of years I have grown closer to God. I read “Jesus Calling” by Sarah Young every single
day. It is a 365 day devotional book that has impacted my live with encouraging words and scriptures from the Bible. Its ultimate goal is to keep Jesus in your presence at all times. I highly recommend it! I am currently in a spiritual awakening phase of my life where I have learned to love myself. I have been in such a better place since I have forgiven and accepted those who have done wrong to me in my past. More importantly, I realize that ultimately I had to forgive myself for all the things that I have done and also accept myself for who I am. Forgiveness and Acceptance have been the two key elements for me on my path to becoming more spiritually healthy. Since then, all my relationships have been so much better. If you are struggling with life take a deep inventory of yourself and really accept yourself for who who are. Secondly forgive everyone and yourself for what has transpired in the past. Thirdly accept others for who they are. Do not wait on others to forgive you or accept you. Your spiritual fitness is typically healthier if you practice your faith, beliefs, and other activities that support your spirituality. A great church to visit in Atlanta that i have personally had the pleasure to visit is Victory World Church 5905 Brook Hollow Pkwy, Norcross, GA 30071 Phone: (770) 849-9400 I hope this helps! Hey Girl Hey! Holler Poodles!
Summer is just right around the corner and as everyone is getting their beach bodies into shape, you’ll want to pay special attention to catching that someone special!! Here are a few of my do’s and don’ts for dating in this day and age. Now pull up them big girl panties and I’m gonna tell it to you straight! Mary Edith Pitts’ Dating Do’s and Don’ts 1. DO set up a Grindr, Scruff or Online Profile. If you aren’t a stunning beauty like myself, use somebody else’s picture because everybody needs love. If you don’t have an iphone, your ass is screwed! 2. Remember, this is a game so never ever ever show your true feelings! When you see a guy you like, DO NOT initiate contact. Stand in a corner all meek and mild--this gives the impression you are shy, pristine and virginal. If you are too forward, he’ll know you are a big slut! 3. When a man approaches you, remember, you are a lady! DO let the purse, panties and sibilant ‘ssssss’ fall out of your mouth. He knows you are a lady and likes it! 4. DO NOT shower before your date. That way if things start getting heated, you’ll remember your ass smells and is off limits. Remember poodles, it is an outright sin to go butt bumpin on a first date! “Keep yo legs closed to married men.” 5. DO have 1, 2, or 12 drinks before your date cause girl you need to loosen up a bit. If you’re drunk, all the better. Did I mention your ass stinks? Damn! 6. When you go on your first date to Roasters, Joe’s or Roxx, DO make sure you tell your date you forgot your wallet cause a lady ain’t supposed to pay. Keep drinking cause you know he is starting to make your panties wet! 7. When he takes you back to his place, run to the bathroom and DO an emergency cake test . If your finger comes out clean, wash your ass with soap and toilet paper. That way, when he sees the tp residue, he’ll know you washed! 8. After your date is done, DO text AND call him frequently to tell him you love him. If he doesn’t return your calls, he’s just playing a game. Show up at his work to let him know you mean business! He won’t say it but he’ll appreciate your caring so much! I hope this helps you poodles! Love and lashes,

Gay News At A Glance FEDS PROBE GEORGIA’S TREATMENT OF LGBT PRISONERS
investigation was motivated by these particular situations. “What we can say is that we have received some complaints relating to allegations of abuse in Georgia prisons,” Horn said. “When we reach critical mass, we decide to open up an investigation.”
Amid widely publicized complaints about ill-treatment of transgender inmates in Georgia prisons, federal officials have finally begun an investigation into the treatment of LGBT inmates generally in the state’s prisons. This is the first Justice Department investigation to focus on the situation of LGBT prisoners.
Peterson, a transgender man, has spent nearly five years in a women’s prison for killing his rapist, an action he says he took in self-defense. Until recently, he was denied hormone therapy, and he says he has been subjected to much hostility from guards at Pulaski State Prison. He has spent time in “protective custody,” that is, solitary confinement.
“Essentially we’re looking at potential violations of the Civil Rights of Institutionalized Persons Act, which deals with the constitutional rights of prisoners in institutions like prisons,” said U.S. Attorney John Horn. High-profile cases in Georgia include those of Ky Peterson and Ashley Diamond, but officials wouldn’t say if the
Diamond, a trans woman, also was denied hormone treatment and spent time in solitary confinement during the three years she served in all-male prisons for a nonviolent burglary and theft conviction. She has further alleged that she was repeatedly sexually assaulted. Represented by the Southern Poverty Law Center, she filed a federal lawsuit
against the Georgia DOC in February 2015; it was settled out of court a year later. Diamond was released from prison last August. It was after the settlement that Georgia prison officials began offering hormone therapy to Peterson and other trans inmates. They also put in place policies aimed at preventing sexual assault and meeting the health and safety needs of these prisoners. “While our lawsuit has done an important part of the work of making conditions in Georgia safer for prisoners, the Department of Justice is going in behind us with a focus specifically on safety and housing issues with respect to that community, and sexual victimization risk,” Chinyere Ezie, Diamond’s attorney at the SPLC said. The investigation is in its early stages, but the Georgia DOC has been cooperative, said Horn. “We’re working closely together to conduct the investigation quickly and thoroughly,” he said.

CIRQUE DU SOLEIL CANCELS ALL NC SHOWS DUE TO THE ANTI-LGBT LAW Sorry North Carolina, but Cirque du Soleil won’t be performing in your state anytime soon. The popular Canadian art/acrobatic troupe announced on April 15th that it has canceled all shows in the state for the rest of the year in protest on the anti-LGBTI law known as HB2. ‘Cirque du Soleil strongly believes in diversity and equality for every individual and is opposed to discrimination in any form,’ the company said in a statement. ‘The new HB2 legislation passed in North Carolina is an important regression to ensuring human rights for all.’ The troupe was scheduled to perform in Greensboro April 20-24, Raleigh June 22-26, and Charlotte July 6-10. The company says its belief in ‘equality for all’ is its guiding principle and that it hopes customers will understand. HB2 was quickly passed by the state legislature and signed into law by Governor Pat McCrory last month. It bans all local LGBTI rights ordinances in the state and was rushed into law to override an ordinance in Charlotte that would have allowed transgender people to use the bathroom of their gender identification. 36: April 22, 2016
SUPER-GONORRHEA IS NOW A BIG HEALTH CONCERN
A strain of gonorrhea resistant to some antibiotics has been detected in gay men. The outbreak of a strain of gonorrhea resistant to azithromycin was discovered in 2015, in Leeds, and now has been confirmed in gay couples. Thirty-four cases have been detected in lab tests, though it’s feared there are many more. These have been confirmed in the West Midlands, London and southern England, but experts say this could quickly spread to the United States. Doctors are urging couples to have protected sex in order to contain the infection. So far, they say attempts to curb infections were ineffective. This particular bacteria strain is resistant to azithromycin, which is used together with ceftriaxone to treat gonorrhea. It’s feared a bacteria strain resistant to one will soon develop resistance to the both. The strain is highly infectious. Of 22 people infected who contacted previous partners, 94% had caught it.
GOV. NATHAN DEAL IS FED UP Georgia Governor Nathan Deal really has had it with so-called religious freedom bills. Speaking out for the first time since his veto of House Bill 757 last month, the state’s Republican governor hopes those planning to propose a similar bill will be mindful of the backlash other states are facing right now after their governors signed such bills into law. ‘I don’t want to go through the same process all over again,’ he tells the AJC. ‘It’s time to take another deep breath. I see what’s happening
in North Carolina. I see what’s happening in Mississippi. And I would hope that many of the ones that are pushing for it would not want the state of Georgia to go through that kind of scenario.’ Deal realizes that no matter what he does in cases like this, some people will be unhappy with him. ‘I think all of us want to be liked by everybody,’ he admits. ‘But when you come to issues like that, you can’t be liked by everybody because people have such divided opinions about something. My job as governor is to do what I think is best in the overall interest of the state of Georgia and its citizens as a whole. And that’s what I did.’
SOUTH CAROLINA SHERIFF VOWS TO ‘WHIP’ TRANS CITIZENS A South Carolina lawman has no problem about letting voters know what he’ll do if a transgender resident uses the same public restroom as his wife saying, ‘If you’re a guy … I’m gonna whip your tail if you go in there with my wife while she’s trying to use the bathroom,’ the sheriff proudly said to the audience. He then insisted he has no problem with gay people. ‘Let me tell you something,’ he explained. ‘I don’t dislike gay people at all. I think sin is sin. I don’t care what it is. It isn’t my job to judge people. I love people… I’m not into making people feel bad about themselves because they make bad life choices because I make bad life choices.’ Wright told the Herald-Journal he stands by his statements and supports state bill S. 1203. If passed, the legislation would bar all local governments in South Carolina from passing nondiscrimination ordinances that would protect transgender people, like allowing them to use public bathrooms according to their gender identity. In addition, the proposal would force transgender students in all schools to use bathrooms that correspond to their ‘biological sex.’

“I fought for my country. Now I’m bringing the fight to my HIV.” Reggie - Atlanta, GA Living with HIV since 1985.
As a military guy, I know how to follow orders. So when my doctor told me to start and stay in treatment, I listened. Now my treatment regimen is part of my life. That means I take my pills, I keep my medical appointments, I stay connected to support groups and I keep up with the latest education. Treatment works for me, and now I show other veterans who are HIV-positive how it can work for them.
