Even though we do love dining out, sometimes it is a w elcome change to invite people over to your home f or a cozy dinner party or drinks and hors d'oeuvres before hitting the town. Many view hosting duties as an unachievable art form, but it really doesn't require that much to shine as the perfect host. Here are a few tips.

SERVE IT RIGHT As you know, presentation is everything because a large part of our d ining experience is visual. Whether you are serving brunch, lunch, dinner or hors d'oeuvres, it will look better on some great serveware. 1. Cheese Board With Metal Handle, $89 2. Stelton Stainless Steel Vacuum Jug, $139 3. Nambé "Yaro" Salad Bowl Set, $145 4. Merchant No.4Tiered Stand, $55 5. Vera Wang Wedgwood Simplicity Common Serveware, $115
PROPER GLASSWARE It's always impressive when the host can provide the correct glasses f or the drinks served. You don't need to get every possible kind of glassware as long as you limit the drink options for your guests – for instance bubbles, cosmos or an old-fashioned!

SET THE TABLE Nothing is more inviting than a table that is already set when guests arrive. It's a great way to establish a theme (say if you're going for a French bistro vibe) and it's also a wonderful conversation piece if guests don't know each other. And, of course, you’ll receive plenty of oohs and aahs as your guests enjoy the thoughtful table arrangement and tasty food. 1. Eclectique Dinner Plates (Set Of 4), $120 2. Marin Flora Plate, $4 3. Event
Pretty in White D. David Kinney, Digital Editor
It’s time to pull out the white linen pants and shop for the perfect white top because CHRIS Kids’ annual Premiere Party is coming up soon. This year the spectacular event returns to the Mason Murer Fine Art Gallery on June 7 and is being organized by co-chairs Alan Smith, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at AutoTrader. com, and Jonathan Karron, Vice President of Marketing Communications at Herschend Family Entertainment. The Premiere Party is known in Atlanta as th e unofficial kickoff of the summer social season. So we spoke to Alan and Jonathan about what we can expect from this year’s event. “Expect it to be fabulous, fun and for a great mission. Guests are dressed in crisp white attire and there is exquisite food, old friends and new, a gorgeous silent auction, creative cocktails, and dancing – for those that want to ‘Get Into It’ with DJ Vicki Powell,” CHRIS Kids’ Director of Development, Beth Keller, told FENUXE Magazine during a recent interview. We know the party is always a great time so the bigger question is what should you we ar? “Make sure to be yourself,” Keller su ggests, “Choose comfortable fun or fe stive formal all white attire. Wear white shoes, shirts, shorts, pants, hats, bow ties, su its and you can always jazz it up with a sp lash of accent color. We accept people for who they are, where they are – so come as you are! Just make sure to wear white, and if you don’t – just remember, ‘we told you so.’” Mo re than the great outfits and the fun is what the party does to help the CHRIS Kids organization. In addition to raising funds the party also introduces community members to what CHRIS Kids is all about. “Diversity, in clusivity, acceptance, and unconditional love. These are integral parts of CHRIS Kids fo unding philosophy, ethics and values,” Ke ller explained, “We have been protecting and serving LGBTQ youth and all youth at home, in school, foster care, and while th ey reside in the juvenile justice system for over 30 years. This event reminds us all to continue to work together on diversity efforts, as one family said (regarding their gay son): ‘We have learned not to judge. We welcome all with open hearts. At CHRIS Kids we found peace and are learning to embrace diversity.’” If you would like to help CHRIS Kids with their mission and enjoy one of the best par16 : May 8, 2014
ties in Atlanta at the same time, consider purchasing a VIP ticket. “A VIP ticket ensures that an LGBTQ homeless youth has a warm bed, food and a safe place for two nights, that a foster care kid with no high school diploma has access to a GED prep course or that a young teen mother has a monthly Marta Card to get to work,” Keller detailed, “In addition, there are some great benefits like exclusive photo opportunities, a private entrance, a separate lounge area, specialty cocktails, a wine bar, and Keith Hand at Bridge Catering who makes sure the VIP food is extra exquisite for our VIP guests.” Over the years the Premiere Party has raised nearly one million dollars for CHRIS Kids. The funds are used to support children and diversity efforts in the community. “We need your help to continue to serve LGBT and all youth of Atlanta who suffer from trauma and neglect,” Keller concluded, “Commit to making the world a better place for all kids with us!” For more information about CHRIS Kids, the Premiere Party or to purchase tickets visit community.chriskids.org/premiereparty.

When the sweet Georgia air begins to cool and the leaves on the trees start to tease us with their upcoming colors, you’ll know it’s time to search for Bouckaert Farm. Nestled on its 8,000 acres of pastoral paradise you’ll find Tomorrowworld -- the American sibling of Europe’s greatest electronic dance music (EDM) festival. If you don’t necessarily paint with all the colors of the wind and instead use something as stodgy as a calendar, you probably know it better as the weekend of September 26 - 28. No other festival has captured Atlanta’s interest and proved its concept like Tomorrowworld was able to do last year at its inaugural event. Event organizer ID&T set out to give Atlanta an EDM experience like never before and they didn’t disappoint. Bouckaert farm was transformed into a magical land with larger-than-life sets, however, it was the festival’s attention to detail that made Atlantans fall in love. It all started with a carefully curated list of DJs scheduled to perform throughout the weekend. There was everyone from David Guetta to Afrojack, and finding when and where they were playing couldn’t have been any easier. Tomorrowworld had plenty of maps, schedules and employees available to help concert-goers navigate its seven unique stages. ID&T recently made its first artist announcement for Tomorrowworld 2014 and they’re bringing back the biggest names in EDM. David Guetta is returning along with Steve Aoki and many Tomorrowworld newcomers including Skrillex, Zedd, Avicii and Kaskade. Dimitri Vegas, Like Mike, Diplo, Martin Garrix, Nicky Romero, Richie Hawtin and Tiësto will also be performing as headliners. Even if you aren’t a fan of EDM music, experiencing the festival theatrics of the main stage firsthand is worth the price of admission. Last year’s theme was the “Book of Wisdom” and organizers brought it to life with an interactive set that featured a giant book. When the festival began the book opened and
inside there was a face in the pages of the text that narrated the weekend’s events. It was slightly haunting, but also effective in transporting the audience into Tomorrowworld’s fairy-tale world. Adding to the magic of the event, there were roaring streams of fire that would burst into the air from the main stage followed by towering jets of water that fell into cascading fountains flanking the stage. Then as the Georgia sun began to go down, perfectly choreographed lasers sprang to life as giant confetti blasts showered the festival-goers. It’s a truly magical experience that has to be seen to believed. Tomorrowworld’s attention to detail also extends to their decision to make the festival a 21-and-over event. If you’re not old enough to drink, you’re not old enough for this festival. People scoffed at the idea last year when word began to spread that Tomorrowworld was excluding the 18 to 20-yearold crowd. However, it proved to be one of the best decisions event organizer ID&T has ever made! Inviting a slightly older crowd to Tomorrowworld helped organizers avoid many of the common problems that plague other music festivals. Just days before Tomorrowworld launched last year the third day of the Electric Zoo Festival in NYC was cancelled after two people died. Additionally, Asia’s largest EDM festival, Future Music Festival Asia, was recently shut down by police after six people died at the festival. Out of the over 120,000 people who attended Tomorrowworld last year there were only 17 medical transports the entire weekend and no one died. ID&T proved to the world that its 21-and-over EDM festival was not only possible but preferable. Some ticket options are already sold out. So don’t wait until the last minute to get your tickets or you may not be going to the festival this year. For more information and to purchase tickets visit tomorrowworld.com.

JUNE
LIVE & KICKING! Mikkel Hyldebrandt
Whether you're a groupie, superfan or occasional concert-goer the concert season is in full swing. Once again Atlanta proves to be an important hub for live performers of all kinds, and with a full event schedule, it's hard to keep track of all the superstars that will grace the different stages of our city - so, here are a few highlights that we won't miss for the world.
MORRISSEY TOUR 2014 If you were young in the 80s, you are bound to know who The Smiths and Morrissey are. The alternative rock band was a major part of the punk rock wave decade, but the music prevails to this date. Morrissey has since gone solo and he is currently touring, which will take him to Atlanta's Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre on June 4. Morrissey has been labeled by many critics as one of the most influential musicians ever. He is also an avid speaker on various political issues and infamously criticized the Canadian government for the country's annual seal hunt. Target audience You’ll find a lot of kids who know what Hi-C EctoCooler and Cabbage Patch Kids are. Plus, lots of people who enjoy great music and lyricism with an alternative rock edge.
KATY PERRY ROAR PRISM TOUR 2014 Katy Perry is one of our largest pop sensations of our time. Her latest album Prism is still roaring on the charts with massive hits like “Roar,” “Dark Horse” and “Birthday.” In fact, Dark Horse is Katy’s ninth number one hit. Her tour kicked off in the beginning of May and she will grace the stage of Philips Arena on June 28 with an even bigger, better and more spectacular show. Get ready to be wowed by this pop prodigy whose rise to stardom and career success already speaks for itself. Target audience You’ll probably have to share the floor with a slew of teens, but one of Katy Perry's unique features is her broad appeal. Her songs and show embrace concert-goers of all ages -- as long as you can sing along to rooooar-oh-oh-oh-oh-ooh...

JULY
LIONEL RICHIE ALL THE HITS ALL NIGHT LONG TOUR Lionel Richie is without a doubt one of our greatest musical icons with a multi-platinum album and Grammy-winning career. His “All The Hits All Night Long Tour” has been extended to include even more venues, which takes Mr. Richie to Chastain Park Amphitheatre on July 7. As an added bonus to a concert loaded full of massive hits like “All Night Long” and “Dancing On The Ceiling,” Lionel Richie has invited special guest star CeeLo Green to join him on stage - a musical cocktail you don’t want to miss this summer. Target audience Lionel Richie’s career stretches over decades and this is his greatest hits tour. So expect a couple of old-timers, a whole lot of 30+ and probably a good portion younger concert-goers because of Ceelo Green.
JAY Z & BEYONCÉ ON THE RUN TOUR You could almost hear the screams of fans from all over the world as Jay Z and Beyoncé announced their joint American tour recently. The power couple is no doubt one of the most influential right now and they’re dominating just about every chart out there - talk about combining star power! The tour will launch in Miami on June 25 and will take over the Georgia Dome on July 15. The audience can probably expect one of the biggest and boldest concert experiences of all time when Mr. and Mrs. Carter take the stage! Target audience This is Queen B and the reigning king of hip-hop so this concert is pretty much for everyone who’s turned on the radio within the last five years.

AUGUST
ONE REPUBLIC NATIVE SUMMER TOUR 2014 Aarons Amphitheatre at Lakewood will be rocking when OneRepublic takes the stage on August 19. The tour will promote the Colorado band’s third studio album “Native,” which contains the singles “If I Lose Myself,” “Feel Again” and “Counting Stars,” which will no doubt be massive showstoppers this summer. One Republic will be joined by special guest star band The Script.
BOYZ II MEN TOUR
Target audience The audience will be predominantly younger, but considering OneRepublic’s wider appeal it will by no means be a teenie fest.
Target audience Though incredibly talented, Boyz II Men haven’t reclaimed their former level of fame, so this is for the crowd that grew up in the 90s.
Boyz II Men, one of the 90s largest R&B soulful sensations, is touring America to promote their new album “Twenty.” But don’t worry; you will certainly hear their defining mega hits “End Of The Road,” “I’ll Make Love To You” and “One Sweet Day.” The boyz have definitively turned into men, but now they’re proving why they are the most successful R&B group of all time.

KRISTINE
W’S “ " DIS-CONNECTION By Mark Dawson
“So Close To Me” is a celebration of the magic of spending time with loved ones, explains party diva Kristine W about the latest single from her “New and working together for years, traveling the Are people out of control with Number Ones” record. world, performing songs like “Land of the technology?
She hopes the song will serve as a reminder to club fans that no matter how many electronic gadgets are invented, there is no stronger connection than real human contact. “People need to turn off their devices,” she says. “Real face-to-face quality time with the people you love is key to a happy life.” Kristine isn’t only referring to romantic love. “Family and co-workers count too,” she clarifies. That’s why she chose to include her backup dancers in the song’s music video. “We’ve been 24 : May 8, 2014
Living,” “One More Try”, “Stronger” and “Feel What You Want” together. It felt right to include them in the video.”
“My dancers are my support system on the road,” she continues. “We laugh, cry, share ideas… We appreciate the special time we get to spend with one another on the tour bus. Sure, it can be tight at times but it’s allowed us to build such a wonderfully unique and close bond and I wouldn’t change it for anything.”
Kristine W: I think we all rely too much on our gadgets. Phones and computers have become a safety glass separating real life from the cyber world we create for ourselves. We are losing our ability to truly connect with one another.
do you monitor the amount of time you spend online? I usually have the ringer on my phone set to off. That way, I can focus on what I’m doing at the moment or really listen to that person who needs me to be totally present.
Technology is amazing! It’s only when we overuse it that it becomes harmful. We shouldn’t substitute technology for real life connection.
What one technology could you not live without? I Skype a lot, especially for business. It’s useful for speaking with producers and remixers in other countries. It has saved me a lot of time I would have spent traveling. So you’re not anti-technology? Not at all. Technology is amazing! It’s only when we overuse it that it becomes harmful. We shouldn’t substitute technology for real life connection. How do you get away from the technology? I hang with my kids and friends. I ride my horses. I write songs and play my instruments. You also spend a lot of time on the road. does it get lonely? Not at all. Every show is a creative adventure. I’ve been traveling with the same dancers and musicians for almost a decade. They’re my other family. do you fight like family? We don’t argue but we have had strong conflicting opinions about choreography and show ideas. We are all secure enough in our relationship to be honest about how we feel. In the end, the best ideas win, even if they aren’t mine. (Laughs)
don’t make much money selling physical CDs these days. You have to pay the graphic people, the mastering house, editors who make sure all the info is correct so we don’t have to do a repressing. It’s a lot but I do it for the collectors who prefer their CDs over digital mp3s. CDs are something tangible. Collectors enjoy the artwork and the overall personalization of having a physical copy. How did you pay for it? We were out of money after the second remix album so the third is a literally a gift to fans from everyone on the “New and Number One” team. I really have to thank the tribe of talented remixers who agreed to make it happen with me. do you have a favorite remix? I love them all. How could I not? They offer such a wide variety of sounds. It’s truly amazing. But so is the team we have assembled for this project. Every day I count my blessings for the first class people in my life that I am lucky to have so close to me. For more information, visit KristineW.com.
Whose idea was it to release so many remixes of So Close To Me? We were only going to release the two CDs of remixes. but as the single got more popular, we received more offers from DJs and producers. Soon, we had over 30 remixes and I was blown away by how great they all were! I wanted them to be available to the fans. I couldn’t fit them all on two CDS so we had to make a third. Releasing three albums has to be expensive. Oh yes. It’s a labor of love really because artists

It's a good idea to show up half an hour before your reservation and simply soak up the refined atmosphere and comfortably cool ambience at the restaurant bar. Besides, they serve up a mean selection of signature cocktails, which are a perfect beginning to an evening of culinary delights. Once seated the waiting staff will make sure you’ll want for absolutely nothing with attentive and professional (but never pushy) table service. For starters there are some wonderful choices, and many are great for sharing if your party decides on different tastes – the fried oysters, Asian style meatballs and eggplant fries are delectable! The menu has some great seafood and fish offerings (lobster tail, jumbo shrimp and spiced ahi tuna are hard to pass on), but the menu really shines when it comes to meat – after all it is a steakbar. The dry-aged steak practically melts in your mouth and the filet mignon, NY strip and rib eye are all amazing choices. You simply can't go wrong with the meat here. Accompany it with your choice of sauce (the bearnaise and house steak sauce are out of this world) and one or two sides (how about creamy mashed potatoes and parmesan fries?) and you're in for the steak dinner to top them all. Pair your meal with a glass or bottle of wine from their impressive list. If you're in doubt as to what to choose the staff is more than happy to make recommendations. For dessert go with the more savory crème brulee or truffle cake, and if you just want a touch of sweet with your coffee or avec, go for the espresso bon-bons or the selection of sorbets. You'll leave the steak bar feeling full, fulfilled and very content.
4th & Swift
Woodfire Grill
Ecco
621 North Avenue NE, Atlanta
1782 Cheshire Bridge Road, Atlanta
40 7th Street NE, Atlanta
Conveniently located in the Old Fourth Ward historic district, 4th & Swift offers fine and trendy dining in the heart of Atlanta. Chef and owner Jay Swift and Chef de Cuisine Jeb Aldrich base the menu on seasonal and market produce, which keeps the menu alive and very vibrant. S the menu can potentially change from day to day depending on what was offered at local food markets. Overall the restaurant serves modern American comfort food, but it is infused with a trendy edge that always pleasantly surprises.
Executive Chef Tyler Williams works only with offerings from local farms making Woodfire Grill a true farm-to-table eatery. Although the menu offers many wonderful a la carte options, the 5 or 7-course tasting menu is highly recommended. It does require full table participation, but the chef will send you on an unmatched culinary journey. The tasting menu is made up of small but poignantly tasteful bites and larger plates of food and everything is interspersed with little 'greetings from the chef' that are not on the menu. An interesting and always delightful dining experience.
This Mediterranean Italian restaurant explores the higher levels of European cuisine. The menu will tempt you with delicious cured meats and cheeses, house-made pasta dishes and amazing wood-fired pizzas. If you're there for the fantastic wine and signature cocktails, the restaurant offers a wide variety of shareable dishes like fried goat cheese and Pancetta-wrapped dates that are simply divine. Diners will also appreciate the restaurant’s award-winning décor and (if the weather allows it) the patio is very enjoyable to dine on. FENUXE.COM : 29

Cafe Mezo 794 Juniper St NE, Atlanta
As one of the newer additions to the Midtown culinary landscape, Cafe Mezo has already made a lasting impression with diners who want a taste of the world. Serving up authentic pan-Mediterranean food, which incorporates Turkish and Greek cuisine with a few MiddleEastern influences, this is the place where you can get some of the best dolmades, tabouli and haydari in town. The chef brought the recipes over from Turkey and has decades of experience preparing authentic Mediterranean dishes. You simply must try one or more of their kebabs (we recommend the lamb and beef Mezo kebab!) from their extensive menu. You can also opt for one of their incredible gyros or delicious daily specials like lamb shank or fresh fish. The restaurant space sits on the corner of Juniper and 5th Street and it has been completely renovated to accommodate refined dining guests both inside (where floors have been tiled Mediterranean-style) and outside on the wonderful wraparound patio. As an added fun factor, there is bellydancing on Friday and Saturday nights from 8 until 11 p.m., which makes the place ideal for a night of freshly made cocktails and entertainment. We also hear that Thursday night will soon feature male belly dancers as well... Cafe Mezo has quickly become a favored Midtown gem, and we can certainly understand why. This is comfortable, casual dining with a delicious Mediterranean twist.

Restaurant Anis
1594 Woodcliff Dr. NE
961 Amsterdam Ave NE, Atlanta
2974 Grandview Avenue , Atlanta
This charming restaurant offers what is arguably some of the most authentic Ethiopian food in Atlanta. The menu has a wide variety of African specialties like sambusas (pastry shelled lentils and vegetables), spicy doro wot (chicken legs in spicy sauce) and yebeg alicha ( lamb stew). However, we recommend going for one of the special combinations where you get a little bit of everything served with their special injera bread. It has a spongelike texture that is perfect for scooping up the delicious sauces and stews with – a dish perfect for lengthy conversations and lots of catching up!
Mali is always bustling with guests and you’ll see why once you start enjoying their Thai delicacies – it's simply that good. Try the chicken satay, tom yum soup or the vegetable tempura to start. Follow them up with the excellent vegetarian Pad Thai, lemongrass grilled chicken or grilled duck for your entree. You can’t go wrong with any of them. To top it all off, try a tasty mai tai or a delicious espresso martini. If you have room, we highly recommend the fried banana dessert as well.
Anis and head chef Arnaud Michel have kept the menu here uncompromisingly French since it first opened back in 1994. This is the place where you literally get the taste of the Provence with a plate of scrumptious moules marinieres, escargot or a boeuf au poivre (pepper steak). Even the staff is predominantly French and don’t be surprised if you hear French spoken at tables nearby. This is where French Atlantans go to get their French food fix. When the weather allows for outdoor dining, their wonderful, covered patio only underlines the feeling of dining in France.

Tasty New Restaurants
Chai Pani
406 W. Ponce de Leon Ave, Decatur
This Decatur foodie hotspot opened up just over a year ago and occupies the spot where Watershed used to be (before it got fancy and moved to Buckhead). They serve traditional Indian street food with creative and modern twists. Owners Molly and Meherwan Irani opened Chai Pani Decatur as an offshoot of their original store in the gorgeous mountain town of Asheville, North Carolina. They’re a restaurant power couple with Molly running the front of the house and Meherwan directing the kitchen as the executive chef. The beauty of the Irani’s restaurant concept lies in its simplicity which allows the focus to always remain on the tasty food. By keeping their standards and quality high they are able to consistently provide diners with an incredible taste of India. If you like Indian food and you haven’t tried this hidden gem, you’re in for a real treat.
Gunshow 924 Garrett Street, SE, Suite C, Atlanta
Chef Kevin Gillespie’s new restaurant, Gunshow, has turned traditional Atlanta dining on its head with some of the best food you’ll find in the area. Don’t expect to see a normal menu because the cuisine changes every week and the different items are served in a manner similar to meat at a churrascaria. After the chef has finished making a particular dish he’ll go around the restaurant and serve it to interested customers. You pay at the end of the meal according to how many portions you ate.
Gio’s Chicken Amalfitano 1099 Hemphill Avenue, Atlanta
There’s nothing better than finding a restaurant that understands its wheelhouse and sticks to it. Gio’s Chicken Amalfitano cooks chicken and they do it really well. With a limited menu that offers five different chicken dishes (there are six choices on Sunday and seven when moro blood oranges are in season) you can’t go wrong here if you’re a fan of poultry. All of the entrees can be ordered as a single serving or as a family-sized portion.
Table At TEN Atlanta 990 Piedmont Ave NE, Atlanta
TEN Atlanta reinvented their dining concept and they’ve struck gold with Table At TEN. Whether you’re enjoying brunch, dinner or late-night snacks, their new menu offers something everyone. We suggest getting a group of your friends together and trying the Fried Chicken & Friendship Prix Fixe dinner. It is served family style and offers southern fried chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, macaroni and cheese, biscuits and gravy, deviled eggs and a pineapple upsidedown cake. Yum.

ADDICTED to
SUMMER
Photos by Dylan Rosser All clothing available at ESCollectionUSA.com
By Devon Myers
Addicted has always been a bit friskier than ES Collection, its older and more highbrow designer cousin. The brand’s meant for guys who want a little edge infused in their swimwear at more affordable prices. But this summer, Addicted is taking risqué to a whole new level with its latest campaign featuring the boys of Bel Ami. “This summer’s collection is sexier than ever, “ confirms Nir Zilberman of ES Collection USA. “It’s reckless and fun.” Still, the summer collection maintains the style and superior fit guys have come to love. Also, the quality of Addicted remains far superior to comparable brands. The only difference is in the fabric. Where designer brands like ES and Gucci use fine Italian fabrics, Addicted exports less expensive cotton and modal fabrics from Spain and Portugal – allowing for lower prices. Pieces in Addicted’s summer collection range from US$18.00 to US$70.00, with most items less than US$30. Available at ESCollectionUSA.com.

Taurus [APR. 20 – MAY 20]
In moments of respite from the daily grind, take the opportunity to secretly help those in need. Or not so secretly. Go to the airport and find some service men and women about to be deployed and get them all coffee, or even a meal. Know that all the energy you lavish in your quest for health is not wasted. It is not in avoidance that we gain in strength, but in engagement. You are blessed with news from someone in your past on the 12th.
GemIni [MAY 21 – JUN. 22] It behooves you to listen to some sultry Jazz, lounging on a cool lawn, iced grapes chilling your fingers, Pouilly Fume to tipple. Play on the 12th. Do you know your muse? Then, shake it off, and get back to work!
CANCER [JUN. 21 – JUL. 22] Lovelorn lost waifish with a ragged grin and wicked turn of the tongue, you grapple with life’s inanities at present. Quite the tussle, but you are indomitable, yet pliant. The grace and strength of willow, strong and supple. Your wishes come true, all is brought to you as if by magic. Guacamole and cilantro, tortilla chips, and beer. You are a goner on the 13th. Give it up.
LEO [JUL. 23 – AUg. 22] Sometimes you believe you have won, you pat yourself on the back and let other’s scratch your back, luxuriating in being served--only to discover you have been touched. What you once believed to be part of your carefully wrought plan has left deep claw marks in your back. Fissures. Take not lightly. You capitulate, making good on the 20th.
virgo [AUg. 23 – SEPT. 22]
Let it go. Wantonness beckons, your skittishness disappears. You are suddenly a voice to be reckoned with, you astonish with the vividness of your appearance, the crispness of your words. You are offered sumptuous banquets, but you have your heart set on The Mike Veal Band at The Tin Roof Cantina on Wednesday nights. No cover, free parking, dance your heart out on the 14th.
libra
[SEPT. 23 – OCT. 22] Ever the peacemaker, you are suddenly over it. Let the factions fight, the bickering and pettiness are suddenly apparent to you. Who can you trust? Your own good counsel. “To thine own self be true.” That means, though, that you must take as good as you give. Are you ready, though? Being a “commoner” is not as easy as it appears. Let go of rancor on 19th.
after dark
scorpio
[OCT. 23 – NOV. 22] Penitence. Resistance. Digging in your heels, saying ‘no’ out of spite--can be astonishingly refreshing! Colleagues are astonished at your abrasive ness, but it does hold a certain kind of magic to it. Careful you don’t smack yourself upside the head with that magic wand you’re bandying around. The 22nd is a day to lay low.
SAGITTARIUS
[NOV. 23 – dEC. 21] The loneliness of the long-distance runner threatens to overwhelm you. Pause. What are the most important things in your life? What are they REALLY? You will increase your joy to the degree that you inspire it in others. Sounds ridiculous, I know, but give it a shake. The 21st is a day of choice. Weigh carefully which door you choose.
Capricorn [dEC. 22 – JAN. 19] Galavanting, stylin’--these were foreign concepts to you not all that long ago. Ahhh, but you are a quick study, and have mastered this art form in a heartbeat. Oh, did I say heartbeat? Yes, dear one, someone catches your eye, and you captivate, as well. It is high time, but don’t sway in your course. The 10th brings riches.
AQUARIUS
[JAN. 20 – FEB. 18] It is not unheard of for an accomplished giant to ask for assistance. In doing so, you empower those around you, and engage even more fully in your passions of mentoring, of creating. These are gifts, that if not tended-BY YOU-will be like a leaky tire in your journeys. Keep your tires inflated. The 19th calls for rest before your next heroic attempts.
PISCES
[FEB. 19 – MAR. 20] You can. Just repeat. Simple steps. You tend to review the entire melodrama in all of its potential twists and turns and predictable outcomes. This habit effectively lames you. Envision your goal, best possible outcomes, and work towards those. Dwelling on frailty, whether your own or that of others, serves no viable purpose. You will be elated by good news on the 12th!
ARIES
[MAR. 21 – APR. 19] You are not one to sit back and powder your nose while the action unrolls before you. Use your awesome prowess, your brute strength, to create the haven you so crave. Do not settle for second best in anything, you are building your present as well as your future. Insist on being wined and dined on the 13th.

after dark Holler Poodles!! After attending the International Music Festival held at the Buford Highway Flea Market, I am excited to share with all of you some very exciting news. The most anticipated music collection EVER will be released June 32nd and is a 2 CD collection of your favorite Divas. “Divas Under Cover” is a concept album featuring your favorite divas covering other artists’ number ones! It features every gay man’s dream diva Cher covering Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used to Know.” The accompanying music video features her staring into a mirror while a haunting painting of her lies tattered in the background (a la Dorian Gray). On the bonus tracks collection, Cher & Aretha Franklin record Fun’s “We Are Young.” Exceptional! Lady Gaga sings Madonna’s “Express Yourself” while Her Madgesty answers back with Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe” in their on again off again maybe feud, Also be sure to check out the battle royale when Miley, Gaga and Madge record “When I Was Your Man” by Bruno Mars to see who has the biggest balls. Let me know who you think is tops! Rihanna had no say in this but “We Found Love In a Hopeless Place” was recorded by Chris Brown in jail and smuggled out to his producers who smashed the tracks over Rihanna to produce this unexpected gem. What’s with all that moaning and groaning Chris? We all know Mariah Carey is richer than Oprah but damn, she just shoves it down our throats with the single “Diamonds” by Rihanna. Really Mariah? She follows it up on the bonus CD with Pitbull’s “Give Me Everything.” Adele does an outstanding version of “Moves like Jagger” as she releases her own workout video to go along with the single. A definite feast for the eyes! Kelly Clarkson is about to give birth any moment but that doesn’t stop this powerhouse vocalist from moving fans with LMFAO’s “Sexy and I Know It”. Go ahead Mama! Aretha Franklin gives an over the top “DIVA” version of “Royals” and proceeds to throw shade over all her subjects. Fierce!!! As an answer to all those Destiny Child’s rumors of a reunion, Beyonce covers “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” by Taylor Swift Janet Jackson records “Rude Boy” and “Love the Way You Lie.” A message to someone special? Diana Ross comes back in a big way with “Teenage Dream” by Katy Perry which is just beyond words! Barbra Streisand stays relevant as she records Pharrell Williams “Happy” against “Happy Days are Here Again”. Go ahead Babs and get you some!! And finally, in a desperate plea to producers, Lindsay Lohan “Came in Like a Wrecking Ball” and then left. She returned later in the week to record “Raise Your Glass” which she did.
