Before we charter a train or ship, the owners have to experience it first, to check out the quality and itinerary. There were six things that convinced them they needed to charter trains in Africa for our passengers:

• Rovos Rail: Our exclusive Africa train charters are through Rovas Rail. Considered by many to be the most luxurious train in the world! Rovos Rail harks back to a simpler, more elegant era encompassing the timeless grace and high romance of African exploration. With vintage wood-paneled coaches and open lounge areas, the train is its own highlight. The train can carry up to 72 passengers in 36 superbly appointed suites.

• Bathrooms and Showers: On our Africa luxury trains EVERY cabin has an attached private bathroom. On our Siberia and Silk Road Trains, that we have chartered, only a very few cabins included an attached bathroom and shower. the majority of the cabins did not have a private bathroom attached to their cabin. They did have shared public toilets and showers in each car. Having the luxury of having a bathroom attached to each train cabin was impressive.

• Charter Pricing: They offered us huge savings if we chartered the whole train. Buying the Rovas rail train through other companies for a similar 15-day trip would run over $10,000 or more per person. With our private exclusive charter – your price for the same Elephant cabin with its own bathroom is only $7,995 per person. • Open Lounge Cars: The Siberia Trains and the Silk Road Trains, do not include a lounge car for socializing, reading or playing games. Our Africa Train has two lounge cars where guests can gather with large windows to look out. They also have an area where you can step outside onto an open-air deck to take pictures. Impressive is the best word to describe the luxury train.

• Great Itinerary: We stay two nights in Zambia. Our hotel is located at Victoria Falls. It has its own private entrance to the falls so our passengers can visit it more than once while staying at our wonderful hotel. We then cross the border into Zimbabwe where we board our Luxury Train. From there your luxurious train travels down through Zimbabwe into South Africa and the famous Kruger Park, before heading into the country of Eswatini (formally Swaziland), before heading to Johannesburg and Pretoria (the Capital of South Africa).

This special tour is a wonderful chance to enhance your studies of the New Testament with Dr. S. Michael Wilcox. If you are spending time studying the New Testament in your church or on your own this year – next year would be the perfect time to visit many of the sites mentioned in the New Testament. The tour also includes early Christian history in the areas you are visiting. Below is a small list of some of the highlights you will experience on Dr. S. Michael Wilcox’s Travel of Paul and the Apostles Tour:

· Athens: Paul taught on Mars Hill at the base of the Acropolis.

· Corinth: Paul spent over a year in Corinth working, teaching and starting a church.

· Ephesus: Paul and John were involved in creating the church in Ephesus and other churches in the surrounding area.

· The Island of Patmos: From Ephesus, we will travel by private ferry to the Isle of Patmos, Turkey. This is where John wrote the book of Revelations. Patmos is really a Greek island but it is closer to Turkey than to the mainland of Greece.

· Rome: Paul was held in prison near the Forum of Rome, and it was here that Paul died a martyr for his faith. There are three other wonderful places that we will visit that are filled with early Christian history. All fall into our favorite places to visit in the world.

• Istanbul: Many of the religious sites in Istanbul have both ancient Christian history and ancient Muslim history.

• Cappadocia: Underground cities where up to 20,000 early Christians hid from persecution. The caves cities have up to 13 levels. We will not try to visit all of the many miles of caves or try to visit 13 levels deep, but we will visit enough that this will become a huge highlight day.

• Meteora Monasteries: Our train ride and visit to Meteora’s Ancient Monasteries, built on top of sheer rock pinnacles, will be another huge highlight day.

The Queen Mary will open for booking groups about 10 months before our October departure. Taking place on the last night of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.,’s life, The Mountaintop transports audience members to the Lorraine Motel where King confronts his mortality and legacy. As he prepares his speech for the following day, King orders a cup of coffee, and the woman who arrives brings more than just that. Although fictional, this witty, magical, and poetic play propels the audience to better understand the human behind one of America’s best known leaders.

Michael has seen all of the plays offered each summer for over 20 years. No matter how busy he is, he finds time to experience Cedar City’s Shakespeare Festival. Everyone, even if you question your love of Shakespeare, will absolutely love this festival. It has 4 Shakespeare plays and 2 other comedies, or Broadway-type plays. Michael helps all of us understand each of Shakespeare’s plays by explaining the story and the characters before we go to each Shakespeare play.
