• With us you see more of China: We travel through the whole country, starting in Hong Kong we zig zag through China, making sure we see the most impressive sites - all the way to Beijing. • The Shenzhen China Cultural Village: Think of the Polynesian Cultural Village in Hawaii, and you will get an idea of what this is. The Chinese asked the Polynesian Cultural Center in Hawaii to help build them a Cultural village that would display the dress and customs of their many ethnic tribes inside of China. Mission accomplished on a grand scale. The China Cultural Village is impressive and much larger than the Polynesian Cultural Village. The China Cultural Village is a huge hit with our passengers, and it also has several GREAT Shows. As far as we know, we are still the only company that has ever brought American Groups to the China Cultural Village. • Zhangjiajie Mountains: We were the first ever to bring American groups to Zhangjiajie. This is likely the most beautiful place on Earth. It is where they filmed the floating mountains of Avatar. Yes, those mountains actually exist, they filmed them at Zhangjiajie and then cut off the bottoms to make them float in the movie. This is a highlight of highlights in China. • Both the Yangtze and the Li River in one tour. Usually, you have to pick the Li River or the Yangtze; you can’t do both. If you are going to China, you need to do both. The Yangtze River is more impressive than the sailing through the inside passage in Alaska. • 8 Phenomenal cultural shows: in Beijing, Xian, Zhangjiajie, Shenzhen and Guangzhou. Other companies charge extra for the shows, we include them all! • REAL 5-Star Luxury Hotels and Cruise Ship: In China hotels and Yangtze River cruise ships can assign their star rating more or less on their own - many companies passengers end up in hotels and cruise ships on the Yangtze that state they are 5 star but in reality are more like a 3 star. • The ancient walled city of Pingyao: China’s best-preserved ancient walled city. The whole town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is often called a living museum. Even though the ancient walled city is many hundreds of years old, the buildings are all lived in. The first banking system in China started in Pingyao. This will be a major highlight. • Pandas and the Guangzhou Zoo Shows: A great place to see Pandas is at the Guangzhou Zoo. The Zoo also has many animal shows to enjoy. We will also enjoy a fantastic evening show across from our luxury hotel. • High-Speed Trains are faster than flying: By the end of 2022 China is close to having 30,000 miles of high-speed rail lines. High speed trains travel between 120 to 220 miles an hour. We used to do 5 airplane flights inside of China. By the time you add the drive through traffic to the airports, the hours before the flights, along with the drive time back into the next city – in every routing, traveling by high speed train has become faster than flying. That doesn’t even take into consideration that the vast majority of our flights were over an hour late. The trains have more comfortable seats, more leg room and you get to enjoy the beautiful China landscapes when traveling by train. • High-Speed Train Baggage issues: China’s High-Speed Trains have only a small area around your seat that can handle American’s small carry-ons – which is the size of what the Chinese would take as a suitcase. There is no room for large suitcases without having to eat up your leg room. Then there is the massive headache of loading and unloading buses, dragging large suitcases through train stations, along with having to lift your large suitcases on and off the trains. We are the only company we know of that has solved this issue. Your suit cases are taken from your hotel room in one city and will magically appear in your hotel room in the next city. We have your large luggage trucked from your hotel room to your next hotel in the next city. You are free to travel on the high-speed trains with your day pack or small carry-on – without having to handle or worry about your large suitcases. SAUDI ARABIA & QATAR with OMAN & DUBAI

17 day tour - January 31, 2025 with Dr. Michael Wilcox Finally – Saudi Arabia has opened to Tourism:

We have waited a long time for the opportunity to offer a tour of Saudi Arabia. Up until a few years ago Saudi Arabia was closed to everyone that was not a Muslim or a member of one of the Islam religions. Non-members of the religion could only get a visa to enter Saudi Arabia if they were on an approved business trip or were able to obtain special permission from the Saudi Government to enter. Then in September of 2019 Saudi Arabia opened to Tourism, then less than 6 months later they shut down again due to the spread of the COVID. Now that the COVID outbreak has subsided, Saudi Arabia has reopened to tourism again. They recently made a huge major announcement: The Sacred City of Madinah has opened up to Tourism. Madinah has been cut off for centuries to anyone that was not of the Islam religion. This was a huge announcement. Earlier in 2020 before the outbreak of the COVID, Michael Wilcox and the owners of Fun For Less Tours, visited Saudi Arabia to explore and prepare for future tours. Madinah was still closed to non-Muslims during their visit. With the very recent opening of Madinah the owners are headed back to Saudi Arabia and Qatar in October of 2023 to visit Madinah, Jeddah and other places they missed in 2020. They are going specifically to prepare for this tour and future tours to Saudi Arabia. Madinah has always been high on Michael’s wish list and he can’t wait to go back. It is important to note that Saudi Arabia is rapidly changing into a wonderful tourist destination in such a short time. Just a few years ago, all women no matter their religion had to wear scarfs or completely cover their heads when out in public. Now you will feel comfortable just dressing modestly and with no head covering at all. With the exception of entering a mosque, women are no longer required to wear head coverings. Saudi Arabia has so much to offer in tourism.

Here is a partial list of what you will see and experience in Saudi Arabia:

• Madinah: The rare opportunity to visit the Sacred city of Madinah. Closed to non-Muslims for over 1,000 years. • Al Ula area: has many unique rock formations and ruins that are very similar to Petra in Jordan. You will love this area and the unique luxury desert resort we stay in. • Jeddah on the Red Sea. • High Speed Train: We will travel between Madinah and Jeddah by high-speed train traveling at speed reaching 200 miles an hour. • Riyadh: The capital of Saudi Arabia.

Qatar is a must!

Qatar has likely not been on your bucket list, but it should be. There is no place that you can have more fun than at the Camel races in Qatar. After a fast pace tour of Muscat, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, the Ruins in Al Ula, Madinah, Jeddah and Riyadh – it is time to slow down and end with three nights in the Luxury and we do mean Luxury Marsa Malaz Kempinski, the Pearl of Doha. The Resort and Spa is located on its own private island. There will be time to enjoy some sight-seeing and camel racing – but most of all it is time to relax at a fantastic island resort with private beach and many wonderful swimming pools.

Jim and Carol Tyndall, along with Jamie, their daughter (owners of Fun For Less Tours), were able to experience this fantastic part of the world on a private train. At the time, the train was not visiting Tajikistan or Kyrgyzstan. Knowing the train missed the countries of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, they went in early to explore the areas the train missed. Even though they had all traveled to over a hundred countries, they knew almost nothing about Central Asia and its history of the Silk Road. To say they were overwhelmed with the ancient beauty and the people – would be an understatement. To Jim, Carol and Jamie it shot right up near the top of all the places they have ever visited. After the trip, they agreed to charter the whole train for our groups – BUT, they needed to redesign the train's itinerary and needed to add the countries of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. A train is not like a bus that you can just take a different road, pull over almost anywhere and stop or park. Getting permission to travel by rail, wanting to stop and park your train like a bus is not easy. It took close to a year of working with all of the governments and local train companies to get permission to change our itinerary and add the additional two Stans - Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, The only reason this is possible, is because we are chartering the whole train, changing the itinerary, and adding additional nights on the train.

A Few Things to Consider:

• The huge price savings from our chartering the whole train. As far as we know, no one has ever chartered the entire private train through the Silk Road in Central Asia. Chartering the whole train created huge savings. Our price on the train is $1,300 per person less than what the train company charges when it is not a Charter AND they do not include all 4 countries and our improved itinerary! That is only reserved for our charters. • NO LONG DRIVES! On Jim and Carol’s trip they met many people traveling through the Silk Road by bus. When they asked how they liked their tour, everyone said they loved the sites, and the hotels, but the long drives were exhausting and grueling! They spent ½ of their time or more doing long drives. There were many days of driving that were 6 hours or more before they reached the next area to tour. Then when they arrived, they were given less time than they would have liked to see the sights. WE HAVE NO LONG DRIVES! We will travel by train at night and then tour during the day. Some of the bus travelers they met said they had looked at the train but it only visited 2 of the Stan countries. They wanted all 4, so they went by bus. You will get all 4 Stans without any long drives, plus you will have plenty of time to enjoy the many beautiful sites. Please, Please, Please listen to us. There are only a few times each year when the cruise leaves from one side of the U.S. and transits through the Panama Canal, and ends up on the other side of the U.S. We love this cruise itinerary. We plan to add a unique night in an upgraded room with window on the famous Queen Mary parked at the Long Beach wharf. It would include a night stay, breakfast and a Tour of the ship. The Queen Mary will open for booking groups about 10 months before our October departure. If you are spending time studying the New Testament in your church or on your own this year – next year would be the perfect time to visit many of the sites mentioned in the New Testament. Michael Wilcox’s Travel of Paul and the Apostles Tour: · Athens: Paul taught on Mars Hill at the base of the Acropolis. · Corinth: Paul spent over a year in Corinth working, teaching and starting a church. · Ephesus: Paul and John were involved in creating the church in Ephesus and other churches in the surrounding area. · The Island of Patmos: From Ephesus, we will travel by private ferry to the Isle of Patmos, Turkey. Patmos is really a Greek island but it is closer to Turkey than to the mainland of Greece. · Rome: Paul was held in prison near the Forum of Rome, and it was here that Paul died a martyr for his faith. All fall into our favorite places to visit in the world. • Istanbul: Many of the religious sites in Istanbul have both ancient Christian history and ancient Muslim history. • Cappadocia: Underground cities where up to 20,000 early Christians hid from persecution. The caves cities have up to 13 levels. We will not try to visit all of the many miles of caves or try to visit 13 levels deep, but we will visit enough that this will become a huge highlight day. • Meteora Monasteries: Our train ride and visit to Meteora’s Ancient Monasteries, built on top of sheer rock pinnacles, will be another huge highlight day.

The Nomad tribes consider the hill above the cave to be a sacred place. As they put it, “Before there was Muhammad there was a great prophet named Lehi and he taught from that hill”. We do not know if this is our Lehi, but we do know this will be a huge highlight as you visit an active archaeological dig. The excavations are on an Army Base. Only those excavating and Fun For Less Tours have been given permission to go onto the site. To see a video on the Lehi excavations go to the Israel section of our website you will find a link. NOTE: The excavations are now far enough along, there are stairs into the underground excavations.
