Financial Immortality Concept Created by: Fernando J. Escaffi How would you feel if you could say to those you love? “I will always be there for you” And actually mean it? paradigm is a standard, or a preconceived notion of how things work. Only one paradigm can break another paradigm; give yourself an opportunity, and open your mind to new paradigms. My concept of Financial Immortality: It’s Easy, It’s Simple, and It’s powerful. First, we perform a Free Medical Examination to pre-qualify you for 20 to 25 times your income in Life Insurance Protection, this is the maximum most insurance companies are willing to give you depending on your age and income. Next, we offer you a “Free Cash Flow and Net Worth A nalysis” to determine what options are most suitable to you. Finally, we help you on implementing a combination of financial products to create “Maximum Protection” and “Maximum Conservative Wealth Accumulation” according to your budget. With this strategy, you will instantly acquire peace of mind and a sense of control that will come from knowing that if you are no longer here physically (regardless of when), you will still be able to provide all those things that you currently do out of LOVE, things such as food, shelter, education, peace of mind, vacations, holiday celebrations, and more. The Income Tax Free Death Benefit from your Life Insurance Policy will create eternal relief for your family. Here’s The Secret! Imagine having between 20 and 25 times your income in Tax Free Death Benefits Proceeds, invested at a conservative rate of return to prevent risking the principal, let’s say 4 to 5 percent, and allowing the interest alone to replace 100% of your income forever. Did you get the picture? Generation after generation, your paycheck will be there! This is how we can help you become Financially Immortal. If the Goose is never touched, the egg will be there forever feeding and protecting your family! Here comes the best part: if you teach your family and/or your business partners this strategy, and they repeat the same process, what would you actually be creating? We call that a “Dynasty of Wealth” For more information contact Fernando Escaffi at 703-898-5061 or visit www.4everthere.com < www.fiestaDCmagazine.com

We have found perhaps the most perfect spot in DC to have a bring-your-date dinner and have a great time dancing the hours away afterhours. A friend of ours introduced us to this delectable night spot in DC with one of the best fusion-inspired food I’ve ever eaten. This is the kind of nightlife that draws in a select crowd of energetic and well-dressed Washingtonians for a good time.

e walked away with one of the most memorable dinners after a great time conversing with the host, Stephanos. Franco, Amanda and I arrived well dressed, and a bit early in the evening to enjoy a good dinner and drinks. The place has a great ambience, modern decor, great lighting, and trendy background music. It’s the kind of place where you want to take a date; it’s a place to have a good time, and the staff takes good care of you. We sat down aWe sat down at a typical table, near the isle of movable tables. After 11 PM , they cleared the tables and the space turned into a dance floor. Our delightful hostess, Natahlia, recommended some of the most popular dishes. We ordered the Grilled Calamari, Fried Oysters, and Tuna Ceviche. We also ordered lamb chops, their famous Atomic Pizza, and a Nutella Pizza for dessert. We absolutely love Giovanni’s special dish, the Tuna Ceviche. He uses the highest quality Tuna, which he cubed with cucumber, avocado, seaweed and mixed with sesame seed, and sesame oil. He also added a little bit of rice wine, soy sauce and lime juice. If you love Japanese sashimi or California Rolls, then you’ve got to try this. The lamb chops with risotto and saffron had the authentic flavor of Greece and the Mediterranean. The Atomic Pizza brought the biggest smile to Franco’s face. The brick oven pizza has little round meatballs, sausages and pepperoni on a cornmeal dough.

We finished up the scrumptious dinner with more wine and a Nutella pizza, Stephanos’s personal creation. Barcode is more than a place to dine; it is a great place to hang out. We went over to the VIP section of the lounge and enjoyed the luxurious couch and great atmosphere. We ordered drinks from their wide selection of beer, wine and mixed drinks. Looking at the menu of just beer alone, I noticed over 40 different types of beer, some I’ve never heard of, further showing that Stephanos took great effort to stock the best beer from around the world. I ordered a Belgium Trapist Ale style beer, Franco ordered an Argentinian wine and Amanda ordered a cocktail. In the VIP area, we chatted with Natahlia about the lounge and the overall restaurant. It’s a great place to hold luncheons and other events because the flexibility of the space allows the tables to be rearranged in almost any format. Barcode is a popular place, so be sure to book the lounge in advance to ensure you can reserve the space. The staff is very helpful in setting up the event caters well to your needs. After work hours is also one of

Barcode’s busiest time. It starts filling up at about 4PM and, with Barcode’s great happy hour and wide selection of drinks, people often fill the bar and lounge area to the point that the place turns into a standing-room only. Various groups of people also casually chat it up in the Hookah lounge, another section within Barcode. Nicely decorated and clean, we hung out under the umbrellas with drinks in hand and watched the city life. Barcode’s popularity results in its staff being extremely busy at times. But the experienced staff makes sure you get whatever you need within just a few minutes. You never have to wait long. It’s a great place to be, and I would definitely book an event here. It is definitely the place to take your friends when they come to visit.

ne day, like any other regular day in the city, I had the great pleasure of meeting a not-soregular person. Sometimes we think, or imagine, what more is there to a person? What is that “more” which defines the inner self, the talent, skills and personality of an individual? It is often said that each one of us is unique; that is very true, as I discovered sitting before Maki Lanffranchi, one hot afternoon at a prestigious, elegant place of Spanish design. I was able to discover and experience the special uniqueness of an artisan of hand-crafted jewelry who has had an artistic trajectory of more than 30 years. Describing her particular style as contemporary and cutting edge, Maki Lanffranchi is elegant, creative, and sensitive with a great love, passion and dedication to this wonderful art. It’s fitting to mention that many important people, celebrities and members of important political organizations and various embassies wear her creations.

Jewelry Designer and Artist. Maki Lanffranchi was born in Lima, Peru into a world of art, creativity and ingenuity. Her designs are an exquisite representation of the sensitive creativity that has been generously bestowed upon many Peruvian artists. The inspiration from her mother, who spent decades in the jewelry business, and her father, who was a creative writer and an expert pelt artisan, are evident in her current work. As a young girl who grew up witnessing her mother’s hard work and dedication to the jewelry business, Maki developed early in life a fascination for the variety of colors, shapes and textures of pearls, crystals, precious stones, gold, silver and other natural materials. This constant exposure to creativity, art and dedicated work ethic sets the fertile foundation for her unique art. She achieves the originality of her designs through an innate ssensitivity to her clients’ tastes. Maki’s talents as an artisan and designer afford her clients the rare opportunity to own hand-made, personalized jewelry, designed and created by the very same designer with maximum attention to quality and details. Her versatility as a designer allows her to produce an assortment of designs, from the practical and economical to the most sophisticated designs, preferred by the most demanding international clientele. Maki Lanffranchi has also had the honor to represent Peru and to exhibit her designs in the Bolivar Room in the main building of the OAS in Washington, DC. Fiesta DC magazine took a particular interest in this talented artist and decided to interview her to get her to tell us a little more about her all-around successes and pending professional projects. 1.- FM: Maki, tell us a little more of your beginnings in this wonderful profession. ML: Well, I started very young, watching my mother as she carried out her work in her workshop in my hometown. Back then, various famous peruvian goldsmiths worked with her. At a very early age, I watched as she filled orders at the request of very important people. This was the source of my family’s livelihood. By age 6, my mother already knew and sensed my artistic tendency. I started to offer my creations when I was 16 years old. I started with my own designs; back then I wore my own designs wherever I went and people were dazzled by my jewelry. They immediately

showed interest and began asking me about them. From there on in, I continued to develop my own business in my country and then in the United States. This work has brought me happiness and the great satisfaction of providing for my two children as a single mother .They are both now professionals, one is an attorney and the other is a financial expert, in this country. 2.- FM: Maki, what style defines your work as an artisan of handcrafted jewelry? ML: My jewelry line is based in an elegant style, glamorous, not excessive. I like to highlight the beauty of my creations by using materials such as pearls, crystals, precious stones, silver and gold. In addition to my pre-Columbian passion, my art also denotes ancestral Peruvian influences, making it both attractive and mystical in each detail of my creations.

3.- FM: Could you tell us about your future projects?

of person or customer that requests your services?

ML: My upcoming projects include: creating elegant and classic fashion events with the presence of guests and personalities of the Washington DC area. I also want to focus on designing jewelry for children. One of my most important activities as an artisan is to support foundations that help and protect abused women and children, as well as cancer survivors.

ML: Of course. If my client gives me the privilege of offering them my experience and artistic vision according to their general appearance, I know I can create, based on their characteristics, the best necklace, bracelets, earrings and other jewelry accessories that would make them look as beautiful as a Princess or Queen. I am honored that my clients always comment that my jewelry designs become their favorite piece of jewelry. Let’s not forget that “the jewel is a complement that enhances the beauty of a woman.”

4.-FM : Tell us how, as a bilingual magazine, we could help you to expand awareness of your jewelry and promote your product. ML: I would like to participate and collaborate in fashion events, adorn beautiful models for magazine covers, or present my portfolio in the magazine.

TRONKOS GRILL Argentinian steakhouse Category: Hispanic food Location: 3111 Columbia Pike, Arlington, VA 22204 Phone: 703-979-0349

Restaurant

We sat there listening to the lull of Latin music as the lovely waitress walks by with a sizzling plate of choice cuts. Who doesn’t love the smell of grilled meat? We’re not talking your common brazilian steakhouse. This is Argentinian at its best; a savory grill of meat over flames. Argentina is world famous for its cattle and beef, and over the years has developed its own unique and savory ways of cooking its meat. There is only a handful of Argentinian restaurants in the greater Washington, DC area, Of these, TRONKOS not only the newest, but it is also one of the best. TRONKOS is operated by owner Gonzalo Mendoza, owner of the renowned Italian restaurant Pines of Italy, located in the same building as TRONKOS in Arlington. Pines of Italy is consistently rated 4 stars on Yelp and other review sites, and Gonzalo has carried over the same magic to the new restaurant. We sat and watched as the well-dressed chef put slabs of meat over a hot fire grill, expertly manipulating the meat and fire to ensure the meat came out perfectly. Drops of juice sizzled as they touched the fire, and the chef constantly dotted fresh spices over the meat. We ordered a variety of dishes including the house favorite, Parilla Argentina. This is a family-sized plate of meat suitable for four, piled with a variety of the choicest cuts. A variety of salads, bread, and accompanying glasses of wine, hand-selected by the owner, were also served.

Reviews

The Parilla Argentina plate was a marvel of meat-dome, if there is such a word. The flank short ribs were some of the tastiest meat I have ever tasted, bursting with a tang of spices that enhanced the flavor. The flank steak and sausages were unbelievably good, and the juices were dripped down our chins before we even knew it. We enjoyed the pork chops and the sweetbreads, not to mention the blood sausages. You can’t find many restaurants in the area that have those authentic sausages, and they’re absolutely a must-try. We were wholly satisfied with that meat dish and the accompanying sides. The spices on the meat carried over to the mixed vegetables, unifying the flavors in the dishes. The salad had a scrumptious zingy sauce, with hint of lemon and orange. Aside from the typical Argentinian platters, TRONCOS also serves pizzas, pastas and sandwiches to suit your taste. The restaurant is very child friendly, offering a great kid’s menu. We walked away from the restaurant absolutely full and wanting to come back. The experience was amazing, and the host was one of the friendliest we have ever met. The prices are very reasonable, and it is absolutely the kind of place to take someone on a date. Come on the weekends to find a lively and energetic dance floor with a DJ playing various types of music

Last week, Arlington-based design house D’Milikah debuted their 2013 High Summer Swimwear Collection. Founded by Brazilian-born designer Emily Gonzaga, the line featured “exotic animal prints and 80’s style inspiration all with a brazilian flair.” More than 200 guests gathered for the show on the new patio at Nick’s Riverside Grill on the Georgetown Waterfront. Fab award winner Sunni of WPCG 95.5 FM and DC Hot Spots host Wil Lash served as emcees for the show. The Waterfront was lit up by D’Milikah’s bright and festive swimwear runway show. The highly anticipated show featured the high Summer Blurry Feminine collection, an eclectic blend of 80s vibes and bold animal prints. Select pieces from the original Blurry Feminine collection were first debuted earlier this year when D’Milikah was invited to be part of the official Grammy Celebrity Gift lounge in Los Angeles. From the success of the lounge, the line was asked to also be a part of the official Oscars gift bag, and now the company showcased the whole collection here in the D.C. area under the direction of designer and founder Emily Gonzaga. The models made their exit from a boat and strutted down the dock and through the show filled with onlookers and happy hour goers. The swimwear ranged from cutout bright one-pieces to tribal-inspired tasseled bikinis to pop-arty and kaleidoscopic prints. There were also crocheted cover-ups and surf inspired rash guards. D’Milikah even made her foray into men’s < www.fiestadcmagazine.com

swimwear this year with rainbow printed pucci-esque briefs. The designer was born in Brazil, which definitely accounts for the hotness quotient in her line. See the photos of this playful and spirited line below and check out our street style post from the Waterfront.

About D’Milikah The D’Milikah swimwear line is Brazilianinspired with a touch of Italian handcrafting adorning each unique piece. Stepping away from the traditional idea of the “perfect Brazilian body,” Gonzaga decided her line would capture the essence of everyday “real women.” D’Milikah specializes in flattering swimwear for women of all sizes. The new summer collection entitled “Blurry Feminine” is a blend of 80s vibes and fun animal prints. FIESTA DC MAGAZINE “Introducing a perfect product”

By : Riva Moreira I am always searching out for the perfect drink to keep me healthy, and I think I found the perfect one. It’s the heat of summer, and I’m finding I am out in the elements more and more. I bike and run long distance a lot, and some weekends, I go climbing in the mountainous areas of Northern Virginia. Even when I am not exercising, I am out playing football or Kayaking and participating in general tomfoolery with my friends. All of this takes a toll on my body, and sometimes I wake up with aches and pains in the joints and muscles. I can put up with, as it’s a sign that my body is getting the exercise it needs. But let’s be honest, I have meetings and deadlines I have to meet, and the pain is one more thing I have to deal with. I usually take two Tylenols in the morning, and a couple during lunch to alleviate the soreness. But now after so many years, I am very concerned about putting more medicine into my body than I absolutely have to. A friend introduced the Zeal nutritional drink to me, and I’ve got to say, this stuff is fantastic. Zeal is a powdery blend of natural substances similar to the powder nutritional mix bodybuilders use to help speed up healing and maintain strong muscular growth.
