Here is a Brief Summary of my Organo Gold Study Concept Created by: Fernando J. Escaffi

CAMBIA TU FORMA DE PENSAR Y CAMBIARA TU VIDA Estas Dispuesto? No te detengas!

The night was not complete without a few laughs, however. Lights went off at incorrect times, stage curtain malfunctions occurred, a microphone went off, and introductions had to be restated. It was not just the mistakes that made the audience laugh throughout the night, though. It was also Eva Longoria’s speech about how difficult it was to speak in such a tight dress that filled the theater with chuckles. The night ended with many cabbing over to Cuba Libre for the after party.

MARC ANTHONY

A Latin superstar who tells you what you “Need to Know” with riveting, popinspired crossover songs like “You Sang to Me” and new single “Vivir Mi Vida.”

The King of Salsa, Marc Anthony sang and danced the night away at the beautiful Wolf Trap Arena in Vienna, VA on September 10th. This was his 12th stop of his 36 City World Tour that began in Medellin, Colombia and will end in Adelaide, Australia on December 18. By the time the tour is over, the singer will have performed in 3 continents, 15 countries and 36 Cities! El Zol radio station was once again the designated radio station responsible for promoting and selling out this sizzling event at the famous Wolf Trap Arena! This was by far the most energized salsa concert to come to the DMV area this year! Marc Anthony kept the entire sold out 7,000 person seating arena on their feet dancing through the entire concert! He sang his top hits and came back with 2 encores culminating with his hottest and newest hit “Vivir La Vida”, the longest running #1 salsa song on the Billboards Hot Latin songs chart. The audience did not stop screaming and singing to the words of his songs as they danced the night away under the stars! The night was filled with amazing energy that radiated from Marc Anthony and his band as well as his very loyal, mostly Latin/ Puerto Rican audience. - http://www.marcanthonyonline.com/

September 15 to October 15 is National Hispanic Heritage Month Each year, Americans observe National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15, by celebrating the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America. The observation started in 1968 as Hispanic Heritage Week under President Lyndon Johnson and was expanded by President Ronald Reagan in 1988 to cover a 30-day period starting on September 15 and ending on October 15. It was enacted into law on August 17, 1988, on the approval of Public Law 100-402. The day of September 15 is significant because it is the anniversary of independence for Latin American countries Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. In addition, Mexico and Chile celebrate their independence days on September 16 and September18, respectively. Also, Columbus Day or Día de la Raza, which is October 12, falls within this 30 day period. 16 <<www.fiestadcmagazine.com FIESTA DC MAGAZINE•SEPTEMBER 16

Caribbean Plate Category: HIspanic food Location: 132 E. Annandale Road

Falls Church, VA 22046 703-942-8580

Phone:

Report by Kimviet Ngo How many times do you pass by the road between Annandale and Washington Street in Falls Church area? And did you ever notice the sign of a Cuban restaurant in that corner shopping mall? The name of the restaurant Caribbean Plate, remidds us of the food from the fiery oceanic region that stretches from the Caribbean Sea to Central and South America.

Restaurant

The Caribbean Sea is the large body of water, formed by the movement of the oceanic tectonic plates stretching over 3 million square miles, from Central America and the Caribbean Sea to the north coast of South America. Fiery volcanic eruptions and intense seismic activities borders this region of islands and peninsula. The Wotten Waven Caldera is one of 9 volcanoes on the island of Dominica. This popular hot spring retreat, is where the restaurant hot sauce gets its spirit from.

Reviews

Inspired by Caribbean Sea and the region’s unique food culture, the owner and the chef brings the tastes of the island to customers with dishes specializing on charcoal chicken, French pressed coffee, unique salads, fruit smoothies, and meat pies. The new restaurant just opens for its doors for 7 months, but already attracks a wide following of customers, lured by is very relaxing environment and the lull of Caribbean music playing back ground.

www.fiestadcmagazine.com >

The restaurant’s design, tropical decoration and a very friendly welcome gives firsttime customers a taste of tropical Caribbean Sea. The menus give customers a variety of selections of dishes from regions such as Columbia and Jamaica. The delicious Jamaican curried chicken with thick creamy yellow curry with pieces of chicken, carrots, sweet potatoes served with choice of rice and side dish. Another excellent dish is shrimp tacos with charcoal shrimp, shredded cabbage, tomato, red onion, garlic rice, and BBQ ranch dressing served with rice and black beans. Among the delicious and excellent dishes is charcoal chicken, so juicy and fresh that draws customers to come back again! A special recipe from Cuba is the desert, as they make their own Cuban Flan and Coconut Macaroons. If you want to seek the place to find a moment relaxing in Caribbean Sea without cruise or flying to central and South America, or you love to bring family and friends to enjoy Cuban food, come to the Caribbean Plate now. Prices are very reasonable. Hour: M- F: 11 am – 9 pm.

pop culture

by Claudia Ordoñez It was an extremely humid night in Virginia on September 10 but that didn’t stop thousands of diehard electronic dance music fans from sweating to the unique sounds of Depeche Mode at jiffy Lube Live. It was definitely a tantalizing night with an amazing backdrop of sensual images and electronic sounds! Although this UK band has been around since the 1980’s they sounded as fresh as any new electronic band of the day. Dave Gahan the lead singer gave a spectacular performance with his very strong and sexy vocals and hard abs or was it hard vocals and strong and sexy abs. 24 < FIESTA DC MAGAZINE•SEPTEMBER

Either way it was an electrically charged sexy night! They opened the concert with songs from their most recent album: Delta Machine but it was the older songs, “Walking in My Shoes”’, “Precious”, “Policy of Truth” that got the crowd to their feet. Martin Gore sang a couple of solos “The Child Inside” and “But Not Tonight”. More songs and sexy images on the screen culminated to the last and one of my favorites, “Just Can’t Get Enough”. http://www.depechemode.com < WWW.fiestaDCmagazine.com

A fashion week is a fashion industry event, lasting approximately one week, which allows fashion designers, brands or “houses” to display their latest collections in runway shows and buyers and the media to take a look at the latest trends. Most importantly, these events let the industry know what’s “in” and what’s “out” for the season. The most prominent fashion weeks are held in the four fashion capitals of the world: New York City, London, Milan, and Paris. Some other important fashion weeks in the world are held in Tokyo, São Paulo, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Buenos Aires, Singapore and in Toronto. DC launched its first Latin Fashion Week, the event took place at the Marriott Metro Center in Washington, DC.
