Analisis

Personal training can be a benefit to people that do not know how to train the right way or know how to use the equipment. Find someone that really knows what they are doing. And not all personal trainers are alike or, good at what they do. So, do your research! If they include a nutrition plan as part of the package, that is even better. To get in the best shape possible, it will not just include the training, but a change in diet and at least a small amount of cardio. Good personal trainers not only push you to do better but should teach you at the same time, so eventually, you can do it on your own.

Save With the country experiencing record levels of unemployment and the prices of certain goods skyrocketing, keeping the cost of groceries down can be difficult amid the coronavirus pandemic. According to the Labor Department, the amount of money Americans spent on groceries jumped by 2.6% in April as the COVID-19 outbreak hit its peak. Luckily, there are a few things consumers can do to make sure their trip to the supermarket stays within their budget.

Make a List It may sound obvious, but making a list in advance will cut down on time spent roaming the aisles in your face covering and also make it less likely to buy things you don’t need. “You should map out what you’re going to cook, make a shopping list and stick to it,” dietician Elizabeth Somer told Yahoo Finance.

Travel during the pandemic

7 things you need to know

18

AUGUST2020

1. Can I get a travel refund?

There are as many answers to this question as there are things to do in the world. Airlines: Each airline conducts its business differently. Many airlines now are more liberal than usual if you decide to change your flight, sometimes waiving change fees. If the airline cancels the flight, under most circumstances it will try to accommodate you. If it can’t within the time it specifies, it may give you a voucher or a refund. Don’t be surprised if the airline mentions the voucher first or doesn’t mention the refund at all (unless it’s Southwest). If its website or agent doesn’t mention a refund for a fl

2. What about my elite status with my airline’s loyalty program? Airlines want you back. Really. U.S. carriers have allowed passengers to change or cancel flights without penalty fees during the coronavirus pandemic. Some are giving elite members of their loyalty programs automatic extensions of their status — some as long as 18 months. For example, American Airlines recently announced it would reward AAdvantage members by granting an automatic extension of their status until Jan. 31, 2022. Members can expect to see the change reflected in their accounts on May 15. The airline also lowered the qualifications for elite status. Here are more loyalty program details at lat.ms/airlineloyaltyrewards.

3. Can I go to Hawaii as planned?

Hawaii doubled down on its stay-at home order April 25. With Georgia and a few other states easing restrictions, Gov. David Ige went in the opposite direction. To stop the spread of coronavirus, he extended the state’s stayat-home order until May 31. The order closed state parks and monuments, historical sites, recreation areas and many businesses. Ige’s order extended mandatory quarantine rules too. Anyone flying to the islands will have to quarantine at home or at their hotel for 14 days.

4. Should I travel at all in the U.S. right now?

The short answer: It’s up to you. Of course, the real answer is more complicated. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention usually doesn’t give travel advice, but the agency’s website (lat.ms/cdctravelguidelines) devotes an entire page to questions and factors to consider. The California Department of Public Health follows those same guidelines. You need to weigh whether you are putting yourself or others at risk. Are you sick or do you have underlying health conditions? You probably shouldn’t be traveling and increasing your risk of getting the disease. Is your travel urgent? Every U.S. state has confirmed cases of COVID-19. “This whole [novel coronavirus] problem is evolving. Look where we were two months ago,” said Dr. Robert Winters, an infectious disease specialist in Santa Monica. Bottom line: We don’t know what we don’t know about the novel coronavirus.

5. Should I make plans for a summer vacation?

Maybe. There are incredible travel deals right now, from airfares to rafting trips, and that trend probably will continue as the tourism industry acts to recover pandemic losses. If you book, it’s possible you may be financially protected in a way you have not been. Refunds are more plentiful, but so are problems. And the issue of refunds continues to evolve, as have polices and practices that determine whether you get back your money, a credit or nothing at all. Here’s a guide at lat.ms/summervacationplans to help you decide whether to take a chance and be rewarded with good value or take a chance and suffer a financial loss.

6. Can I renew my U.S. passport?

The U.S. State Department is not processing new passports and renewals except for emergency cases because of the coronavirus pandemic. As of March 20, “we are only able to offer service for customers with a qualified life-or-death emergency and who need a passport for immediate international travel within 72 hours,” the agency’s website says. Americans are being asked to wait to apply or renew until the agency resumes “normal operations.” If you already sent in your passport for renewal, you can expect significant delays.

7. I’m sick of working from home. Where else can I go?

Some Southern California luxury hotels will let you set up your virtual office for a day without having to stay overnight. For example, Paséa Hotel & Spa in Huntington Beach is offering Office Zen rooms for weekday use from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., starting at $69. You can spring for a wellness suite that comes equipped with Mirror workouts to add some exercise “play” to your workday. Sister property Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa has the same offer. Searching Tip #1: Don’t assume that no one is hiring. The U.S. is experiencing unprecedented filings for jobless benefits. This past week, the nine-week total for jobless claims reached 38 million. While numbers like this, in addition to talk of an approaching recession, might trick you into thinking that there are no companies hiring, that is absolutely not the truth. There are many organizations that have enacted hiring freezes, but many others are still updating job postings and searching for new candidates. “There are companies that are hiring but they just might have to shift to a different industry that they hadn’t thought of to just you know, really build their skills and build some experience while things open up again,” said Dale McLennan, Dean of Endicott College’s Internship and Career Center. “So we’re preaching patience but also telling them to keep going with it…don’t just assume that no one is hiring.” Tip #2: Don’t ignore the trauma. This pandemic has caused unprecedented situations for many people. As a result, it is easy to lose yourself in the stories of those who have suffered from the virus or lost a loved one to it. If you were laid off, it’s important to realize that you are also being affected by this pandemic. “A collective trauma is all-encompassing, but there are hundreds of different narratives within it,” Eldridge said. “Don’t lose yourself, don’t lose your own narrative because to ignore or belittle your own trauma is really to minimize your own experience and, quite frankly, it’s to take your own legs out from underneath you.” Reflecting on what this experience means to you, and how it makes you feel, is an important step to moving past the current situation. Tip #3: Don’t think you are the only one. Eldridge went through the recession that began with the market crash in 2008, so he knows what it’s like to be working in a rough job market. One difference from the situation in 2008 was that right now no one knows how or when this issue will be resolved, and what the job market will look like when it is. “That can lead to a lot of feelings of depression, hopelessness, and anxiety,” Eldridge said. “It’s not that we don’t have the answers yet to how our world looks, and how do we deal with this now? We don’t even have the right questions yet. That’s tough. For people who are really just entering the workforce or don’t have something

established, it’s even tougher.” One of the main differences between the current climate and what people experienced in 2008 is the scope of the current situation. In some way, shape, or form, the coronavirus pandemic has changed each person’s life in the U.S. That was not necessarily the case in 2008. Remembering that you are not alone is a key element in overcoming trauma.

Tip #4: Reach out to all contacts. Networking starts with the contacts you have already created because these are the people most likely to be willing to help you. Tip #5: Keep expanding your network. As you reach out to all your contacts, you should also be looking to expand your network. Most everyone is stuck at home right now, so the only way people are creating new relationships is online, which presents a tremendous opportunity for someone who is job searching. McLennan recommends joining industry groups on LinkedIn, checking out your alma mater’s career services, and connecting with alumni. “Even if they don’t know them, they have that loose connection that can help them build their network,” McLennan said. Tip #6: Use the extra time to make yourself stand out. Depending on where you live, you might not yet feel comfortable venturing out in public too often. As a result, you have the opportunity to spend a lot of quality time with your computer. If you are currently job searching, you should this extra time to make yourself the strongest job candidate that you could possibly be. You should start by making sure your online presence is strong, which means updating your LinkedIn profile, scanning your social media profiles for appropriate content, and posting things that will make you look engaged. Additionally, go over your resume and cover letter. A pandemic is no excuse for weak grammar in your cover letter.

ONCE THE WALLS ARE PANELIZED, IT IS POSSIBLE TO RAISE WALLS (UP TO 70 FEET LONG) WITH ONLY A TWO-MAN TEAM INSTEAD OF REQUIRING A LARGE CONSTRUCTION TEAM. TRADITIONAL CONSTRUCTION GENERALLY REQUIRES CONTRACTORS TO BRING IN LARGE EQUIPMENT AND/OR HAVE ACCESS TO POWER. KIT HOMES DON’T! 1. Put health and safety first If you’re a solopreneur or sole proprietor, prioritize your health first. Limit your travel and maximize home office communication and collaboration tools. If you have employees, keep them informed of travel restrictions, government announcements, and offer them work from home options. If that’s not feasible and your business is considered essential, take steps to minimize virus transmission risk at your place of work. This includes social distancing, splitting shifts, and frequent sanitization. It’s also wise to establish procedures for staff to report if they are feeling unwell, are absent, or if they suspect exposure to the coronavirus or infection. 2. Assess the impact on operations What will happen to your business during this crisis? To help answer that question, run best-case and worst-case scenarios and develop contingency plans for each. Include timeframes in your assessment that consider the impacts of the pandemic if it becomes a three-month, six-month, or oneyear problem. For example, if critical personnel became sick or had to look after family members, how will your business accommodate these changes? Try to identify others who can step in and learn key tasks such as retirees, family members, or independent contractors and freelancers. If your customers close operations for a few weeks or months, what impact will that have on your revenue forecast and sales cycle? Likewise, if government authorities require that you cease or adjust operations, what adjustments could you make to protect employees, revenues, and continue to serve customers? Telework has skyrocketed during this crisis and should be accounted for in your plan. Implement work from home policies and technologies that support collaborative and secure at-home work (home networks and devices are susceptible to security vulnerabilities). This guide from the Small Business Administration (SBA) can help you assess your cyber risk and take steps to improve your security posture. 3. Reach out Develop a communication plan to reach out to your clients, partners, suppliers, investors, and other stakeholders. Keep them

abreast of your business policies at this time, any changes to operations, or new ways you can serve or collaborate with them. 4. Be ready to adapt COVID-19 is changing our lives in ways and at a scale we could never have imagined. The business plan you had 90-days ago isn’t what it is today. You need a plan to adapt and reconfigure your business for each stage of this crisis. If it’s a short-term problem, then cutting costs and other variable spending like marketing, new hires, and travel may help you through. If your business has seen immediate impacts, look for ways to support your client needs or diversify your products and services during this time. For example, dog walking companies are keeping revenue flowing in creative ways. Some are helping clients in vulnerable age and health groups by doing their grocery run. Others are finding new clients among atrisk groups or families with home-schooled kids who are suddenly in need of a dog walker. It’s hard to look and plan too far ahead. However, if the pandemic and lockdowns continue for several months to a year, then you need another contingency plan; one that looks at renegotiating fixed expenses, cutting benefits, even layoffs. 5. Evaluate your finances Any emergency or contingency plan should account for financial risk and impacts. Regularly update and track your cash flow forecast and look for opportunities to reduce non-critical expenditure. Also, review your accounts receivable and assess any credit risks. Do you have a financial safety net that you can draw on? Many business owners have savings they can draw on. Another option is to secure a business line of credit before you need it, so you can draw on funds during a disaster or pandemic. Alternatively, consider small business financial assistance programs to help you cover business expenses such as those administered by the Small Business Administration (SBA). Under the CARES Act, the SBA is providing low-interest disaster recovery loans up to $2 million to businesses impacted by the situation. These loans, funded by banks but guaranteed by the SBA, can be used to pay fixed debts, payroll, accounts payable and other bills. Long-term repayments up to a

maximum of 30 years keep payments affordable. The CARES Act also offers small business owners a $10,000 advance on an Emergency Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) that does not have to be paid back. The program provides loans up to $200,000. In addition to SBA loans, the federal government is also offsetting paid sick and paid leave costs for employers with an employer tax credit, equal to 100% of benefits paid. Self-employed individuals will also benefit from an additional $600 in unemployment insurance for up to four months – an important safety net that they generally don’t qualify for. Some states have also implemented financial assistance for the self-employed. In Iowa, for example, sole proprietors and single-member LLCs that can demonstrate COVID-19 impact can qualify for grants between $5,000 and $10,000. 6. Stay on top of the fast-changing compliance landscape If you operate an LLC, keep an eye on shifting developments at the government level that directly affect your work such as filing documents and turnaround times. Many Secretary of State offices have eliminated expedited services, while others have removed or greatly restricted counter service. Keep abreast of Secretary of State availability and other impacts on our COVID-19 resources page. Having a remote workforce can also introduce new state compliance requirements that must be considered such as state payroll and income tax filing, or the need to register to do business in a new state. 7. Be prepared for the light at the end of the tunnel With your employees safe and healthy, and your operational and financial impacts mitigated as best you can; take stock and think about how you’ll successfully restore operations when the COVID-19 pandemic is over. This is likely to be a life-changing event that could bring a wealth of new opportunities for startups and small business owners. Look for immediate gains like renegotiating contracts with suppliers and vendors. Listen to your customers and find ways to serve them. Find ways to introduce greater efficiencies into your business, such as reducing your physical footprint by making permanent your work from home.

During the latest edition of New York Fashion Week, the collaboration between the EPSON and Robustelli brands was launched, combining the latest technological advances with mastery in fabric design. At the event, which brought together designers from all over America, it was represented by the prominent Peruvian designer Ana María Guiulfo.

LAUNCH OF THE DIGITAL COLLECTION In 2000, Epson’s managers made the decision to look for a new space to make their digital prints and, for this, they analyzed the fashion market, finding that this industry moves more than 10 billion dollars annually in the world . Considering its technological importance in the paper printing market, due to the quality of its inks and the injection thereof with high precision, they sought to partner with a company that was a leader in the manufacture of fabrics and found it in Italy, with Robustelli , a company that develops fabrics for the most sophisticated garments in the world of haute couture. This is how, after seventeen years of working together, the integration of these two brands was achieved with the creation of EPSON by Robustelli, which today is revolutionizing the world of fashion. The evolution of garment making leads us to remember when it was done with a dressmaker, or when it was sewn at home. Later, haute couture appears, where designers make their creations, which are both works of art and collectibles, for those people who can pay high prices for those dresses. Then comes pret-a-porter, where these same designers make fashion on a large scale; and we are also entering the stage of “fast fashion”, where we have fashionable clothes that change from season to season, like the ones we find in places like Zara and H&M. Currently, there is also the “super fast”, where one, through the internet, chooses their models, makes the changes they consider appropriate and, in a week or week and a half, receives their clothes by mail. These are years of transition, without a doubt, and EPSON has taken over this vanguard, being basically the only company in the market that has the three basic elements to achieve it: Mechanics, that is, the most sophisticated machinery for high precision manufacturing. , product of its union with Robustelli; Chemistry, counting for printing with its own inks and developing recipes at the request of clients; Technological, through the handling of quartz (they are the inventors of the quartz watch in jewelry), which vibrates by electricity and each vibration is as if it were an injector of 40 thousand points per second. Together these three vitally important factors give way to digital printing, which will be the great revolution in the world of fabrics for the future that is launched on the market today.

COVID-19 murals express hope and help envision urban futures

What is a mural? A mural is a piece of art that is painted on walls. It can be on the inside of buildings or outside for public display. They are large and take artistic expertise to paint them. The artwork incorporates the architecture of the building to bring out the painting and the building as one. There is an ongoing debate on whether the drawings that are on canvases then put up on the walls qualify as murals. It is an artistic style that has however been in use since the 19th century. Murals are on only on side walls; they can be on ceilings and floors.

Brief history of murals Murals date back to 30,000 BC from the earliest paintings in the Chauvet cave France. The largest numbers of paintings are from Egyptian tombs in 3150BC, Pompeii in 100BC-AD79 and Minoan places 1700-1600BC. The whole period within which ancient paintings are is known as the Upper Paleolithic times. Dry plaster is how paintings were put together in the Middle Ages, the 14th century. Kerala mural painting is an example of fresco secco. When the technique of painting murals on wet plaster took root in Italy, circa 1300, wall painting quality grew. It is the age where mural painting began to take shape and become modern. The best-known style of mural painting is Fresco, but there are many methods and techniques as shown by the Mexican muralism art movement that took significant root in modern times. The pioneers of this movement include Diego Rivera, David Siqueiros, and Jose Orozco. Fresco technique of mural painting utilizes water soluble paints and lime wash. Applying the mixture on large surface results in a wall painting. Once the mixture dries, the colors take shape. For millennia, another method known as the Marouflage technique has been in use. Today, people appreciate murals even more, and the methods are different. They now incorporate oil painting which is very popular. There are abstract paintings and trickster murals that are known as Trompe-l’oeil. The significant change came about through the works of Graham Rust and Rainer Maria in the 1980’s. In Europe, oil painting has taken center stage and is in private and public buildings. Mural painting is revolutionary and proves that walls and ceilings do not have to be plain. Now, wall paintings can be shown by transferring the wall art into a poster paper canvas and then paste on a wall. The art or photographic image gives the illusion of a realistic scene on the wall. History of mural painting techniques Fresco paintings are the earliest method used. It came from Italy and came from the word fresh. There are two categories of the art. Fresco is whereby you apply paint on plaster on the walls and ceilings whereas the Buon fresco technique, you paint in pigment and mix it with water on thin wet, lime layer of mortar or plaster. The wet plaster and the dye mix, and when it is dry, the reaction with air glues in place the particles of the pigment. Once the process is complete, the painting can last centuries with the pictures looking fresh, and the color is brilliant. Fresco painting is on dry plaster, and therefore the pigment needs a medium like glue, oil, or egg that will fix the pigment to the wall. Mezzo fresco is another technique that paints on almost dry plaster and came to be in the 16th century by Ignazio Pozzo. The pigment will drive into the plaster lightly and give impeccable murals. The mezzo fresco style of painting considerably took over the Buon fresco method.
