BERRY AND DOLLY
Letters about Berry and Dolly Books Thank you for the experience we gained during reading the Berry and Dolly series. We will always be grateful for your work, many thanks and all the best to you. Thank you for the numerous joyful moments your books caused to us! My son was only a few months old when I started to read Berry and Dolly stories to him, ever since we are great fans! My daughters really love the Berry and Dolly series. The drawings are so charming that we would like to express our congratulations! Thank you for giving us so much beauty! I would like to say thank you for the many happy hours we spend with reading your books First of all I would like to say thank you. Your illustrations are lovely, and I also love the stories, also as a mother to be and as a teacher. As a librarian I would like to congratulate to your heart-warming stories; I am certain that we would need a lot more books like yours to ensure a happy childhood for our children! Your illustrations are friendly, lovely and it’s a joy going through the pages of your book. During my long life I have not read a storybook as kind, touching and emotional as yours. I was really shocked how is it possible to say so much about the mystery of upbringing children by using a few lines and words. God bless you with health and energy! I believe that your Berry and Dolly series have a “healing” impact! It is a pleasure to read the Berry and Dolly series to my daughter. I am sure that her continuously expanding and colourful vocabulary is also partly due to your books. I cannot say thank you enough times for reading your books. It helps a lot in the evening, no such book exists which would be loved so much by our children. My letter is primarily motivated by SAYING THANK YOU, for creating timeless beauty for pureminded children with your work. Your books are definitely the favourites of my daughter, and the joy I can see her face when we are reading Berry and Dolly is comforting and elevating also for me.

BERRY AND DOLLY SERIES
The characters in the Berry and Dolly stories are a bunch of tiny bugs and beetles who live alongside one another in the forest. The stories are lead by the title characters: Berry the snail and Dolly the ladybird. A variety of other characters join them in their fun and games throughout the series with the stories set in their forest home. All the characters’ houses, belonging’s and clothes perfectly match their individual appearance. The stories look at everyday incidents in the lives of small children with their community based around a kindergarten. Great emphasis is given to a love and respect of the natural world in the series. The sun, the moon, clouds and rainbows all appear in the stories along with many other things familiar to kindergarten children. The series was launched in 2004 and there are now 19 books available in the series with their popularity growing by the day. Kedd Animation Studio, under the direction of Oscar-nominated Géza M. Tóth, has produced a 26-part animated series of 5-minute episodes based on the Berry and Dolly stories published to date. The 26 episodes have run in Hungarian cinemas. The series is currently being aired on Hungarian, Romanian, Estonian, Slovakian and Czech television with negotiations underway with more foreign broadcasters. THE AUTHOR OF THE BERRY AND DOLLY SERIES: ERIKA BARTOS
THE WRITER AND ILLUSTRATOR OF THE SERIES
Erika Bartos from the beginning of her career has been actively involved with challenged children and children suffering from severe illnesses. Her stories gave pleasure to children struggling with all kind of difficulties; acceptance, giving help, equal rights and the importance of loving and supporting each other always play an important role in her stories. She often organises storytelling events for children with special needs; her books, stories and illustrations are very welcomed by the youngest generations. She has been perseverant supporter for many years to the Kindergarten for Visually Impaired Children, the Institute for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, the Association for the Disabled; she is closely linked with the Down Association and Home for Mentally Challenged Children and Children suffering from autism. Some of her books were also published in Braille printing; her stories are also available in sign-language, so her stories can also be enjoyed by hard of hearing children. The Bravery Test is not the first book whereby she is addressing children suffering from severe illnesses through her illustrations, as previously a publication with her involvement was published targeting children suffering heart diseases.
The illustrations of the book were made by Erika Bartos, author of numerous very successful storybook series, poetry and juvenile books. Her books were translated into several foreign languages. The storyteller with an architectural background received several Hungarian and foreign acknowledgments and special prices; she became a really dedicated Hungarian writer and illustrator of the last decade.

Letters about Berry and Dolly Books I would like to say thank you for everything that is related to Berry and Dolly. All members of the family love your stories. It was love for first sight for our little daughter, who is listening to your stories with her mouth wide open, without moving her eyes or taking a breath. She loves from the bottom of her heart all little “bugs of the story. Thank you so much again for your books! God bless your work! I am very grateful to you! The Berry and Dolly series are very charming; they charmingly transmit friendship, help of a friend or anything which is important for a young child. Your books are never boring. Your books remain interesting even if we have already read them for hundred thousand times. Let us congratulate to your Berry and Dolly stories, which gives joy to our family each and every day. They are the favourite characters of our 3 years old daughter, we are reading the same story for days or even weeks (parents, grandparents,) and she is also reading them to her dollies. Thank you for preparing such beautiful and kind storybooks; it is a great joy reading them. Your books amaze, entertain, make laugh and emotionally touch most children living in our neighbourhood. Our elder son, husband and me welcome both the illustrations and stories. We believe that your books are amazing and charming, both the illustrations and the stories. The main thing is that children get to love the books, and through joint storytelling they become children who love to read themselves and have a colourful imagination as adults. Congratulation to your books, we love them as they are amazing, child-oriented, last but not least with lovely illustrations. I am telling you this not only as a mother but also as a teacher. I am sure many people said this to you: Thank you for your work! I am a mother of a 3 year old boy, who is extremely grateful for your activity. My son loves your books; we have books from all of your series. Unbelievable how attentively you can find these topics. Thank you very much for the stories; we cannot say thank you enough, because they truly come from the heart, they are lovely, kind, full of life, happy and they all radiate love. I am hoping for reading more of your books and wish that you will always be a successful author!
