Seller Insight Residents of Hampton Lucy for 25 years, the current owners were charmed by the thatched roof and flexible accommodation of the property eight years ago and have lived happily here ever since. “The property has lovely views and beautiful characterful features, which is one of the main reasons we were attracted to it. We are in the middle of the countryside and there is a great variety of wildlife, while still being blessed with excellent transport links.” “The historic cottage probably stood when Shakespeare was caught stealing sheep just down the lane,” describes the lady of the house, “The property has always had a very happy atmosphere. Our favourite features are the little sunroom which is warm all year round, a superb place to look out on to the grounds, the two real fires and the lounge are so cosy on a cold winter’s night.” “For us the heart of the property is the dining/sitting room primarily because of the sunshine until about 2.00p.m and the amazing Pither anthracite stove. The property contains many very old beams all over the house and some of the original daub and wattle walls in the loft. There is an unusual hole in the old passageway, which contains a very old child’s wooden top, a reminder of the many families who have enjoyed the house over the centuries.” “The garden is very big, we have hosted the church garden party and many family parties. We have an ornamental pond in the garden, a hen house and wthe allotment next door. We also have a lovely old shed where a donkey used to live. We are right next to Charlecote Park National Trust Property. The River Avon is just down the road where you can join the fishing club, and there are excellent swimming facilities at Walton Hall leisure club about ten minutes drive away. The property is so convenient for Stratford, Leamington and Warwick and so near to the lovely Cotswolds. There is an excellent train service from Warwick Parkway to Solihull, Birmingham and London.” * These comments are the personal views of the current owners and are included as an insight into life at the property.
