The owners have extensively researched the history of the home, finding that “The most famous resident we know of was Joy Williams, who lived in the house from her childhood during the first world war, up until the 1980’s when she moved to a smaller cottage down the lane. Much-loved by all in the village, she is best remembered for being the beautiful Land-Army poster girl during the second world war, featuring on the posters to encourage young women to sign up and help the war effort�. The attractive village of Hellidon is situated about 5 miles south west of the market town of Daventry and about 3 miles east of the A361 Banbury Road and within a mile of the Warwickshire border with easy access to Royal Leamington Spa and Southam. For train users, Hellidon has easy access to Banbury, Leamington Spa and Rugby stations (trains to Euston from Rugby take 48 minutes). Hellidon Lakes Golf Course and Country Club is on the outskirts of this pretty conservation village, whilst in the village there is a splendid public house/restaurant, post office and parish church. At nearby Staverton there is an alternative 18 hole golf course, large conference centre and diverse sporting facilities, and The Countryman public house and restaurant.

From the Rugby area, take the A45 heading towards Daventry. As you enter the roundabouts on the outskirts of Daventry keep following the signs for Leamington Spa. As you leave the outskirts of Daventry you will pass Staverton conference centre and the golf course. At the next roundabout take the right turning toward Leamington Spa turning left soon afterwards where signposted towards Hellidon and Catesby. Continue for around 2 miles passing through Upper Catesby. As you approach the village of Hellidon, passing the pub on your right, take the second right turn, signposted “village only” and immediately right again onto Little Back Lane. Hillside house is the first gravel drive on your right, just past the paddocks.
