It was an ambitious wish list, but this property managed to tick all the boxes.” “For us the house itself has been ideal,” continues Alison. “It’s incredibly spacious, has a really nice layout. Despite being quite a contemporary looking home, it’s full of country character. We have some nice feature fireplaces and exposed beams which give a very homely feel, but a lot of the ceilings are quite high and there are many big windows which not only serve to flood the house with natural light, but which also bring in the beautiful views of the surrounding countryside.” “The house sits in approximately one acre of grounds,” says Mark. “We have a nice patio terrace that wraps around the pool complex, and the majority of the rest of the garden consists of rolling lawns. It’s a beautiful space and because the plot is slightly elevated, we enjoy breath taking, uninterrupted views. It really is a glorious setting.” “The kitchen is definitely the hub of our home,” says Alison. “It’s a very spacious room where we can cook, eat and relax. It’s adjacent to the sung, which, at the end of the day, is a lovely place to settle down next to a roaring fire.” “Our immediate surroundings have a wonderfully peaceful and tranquil feel,” says Mark, “and so it’s amazing to think that within five or ten minutes I can be either on the motorway or at the train station in nearby Barnt Green. We had the pool built in 2003, and it has been a feature of the house that we have all enjoyed over the years,” says Mark. “However, we’ve recently had plans drawn up to convert it into a two-bed, selfcontained annex, should prospective buyers not wish to have a swimming pool.” These comments are the personal views of the current owner and are included as an insight into life at the property.
