Jaipur: With the long awaited sanction of Mavli Marwar gauge conversion from Nathdwara to Devgarh Madriya, the long standing demand of the region has been fulfilled. As per the order received from the Ministry of Railways, the first phase of the gauge conversion of 82.52 km railway track from Nathdwara to Devgarh Madriya in Rajsamand parliamentary constituency will be undertaken at a whopping cost of Rs 968.92 crore.
Rajsamand MP, Diya Kumari, who had been making tireless efforts for this gauge conversion, profusely thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Railway Minister, Ashwini Vaishnaw for this decision. This was one of the main as- surances that the MP had given during the Lok Sabha elections. limestone block of total 2.99 hectares in Ramganj Mandi tehsil of Kota district has been auctioned to Mangalam Cement Limited who won the block by bidding 85.15 per cent of the reserve price. Online auction of blocks was held through MSTC.
The Mewar region, which is known for its historic and spiritual sites, as well as the marble industry, will get benefit of this. Lakhs of people, including pilgrims who visit will get benefit. This will also give a fillip to the employment in the area.

There are about 204 million tonnes of limestone reserves in this block.
