Jaipur: While addressing a seminar on “Role of Legislature in promoting effective and meaningful democracy” organized in the State Legislative Assembly on Monday, CM Ashok Gehlot, said that in the last 70 years many governments have changed in India. “Despite this, the roots of democracy kept getting stronger in this country with a population of 140 crores. India is respected in the world only because of the constitution and strong democracy made by Dr BR Ambedkar. It took hundreds of years for women to get the right to vote in many western countries, but our constitution gave women the right to vote from day one. We all are proud of this. New Delhi (FIB): In the defamation case filed by Union Minister Gajendra Shekhawat against CM Gehlot, the hearing was held in Rouse Avenue Court on Monday. Shekhawat’s counsels kept their side before the court for about 2 hours. The court granted permission to present the side in writing. The matter was listed for next hearing on March 23.
