Sound-absorbing textiles that serve as functional and decorative elements
A range of Fischbacher 1819‘s innovative textiles have been specifically developed to be used for acoustic solutions. Depending on the room and usage, they can help reduce background noise and long echoes, helping to create excellent room acoustics.
The sound-absorbing fabrics can be used in offices, meeting pods, room-in-room systems, hotels, conference rooms or private homes. Made into curtains, blinds, acoustic panels, wall coverings, textile room dividers and stage curtains, they help to create the ideal level of acoustics for every setting.
Soft and fibrous surfaces convert sound waves, whereas hard materials and smooth surfaces made from glass, stone, steel or aluminium reflect them. Sound-absorbing materials are required if rooms are particularly noisy, have a lot of hard surfaces that reflect sound, or create an echo. Using the right materials, you can reduce sound intensity and dramatically improve the acoustics in a room.
Each fabric has its own sound absorption features depending on weight, composition, surface, design and weave.
Fischbacher 1819 fabrics are tested for sound absorption in the lab according to EN ISO 354. The sound absorption coefficient is classified from A to E as per ISO 11654:

ACOUSTIC LIGHT FR combines function and aesthetics. This very light plain sheer with a soft handle and modern, versatile colour palette is made of Trevira CS.
Flame retardant, this sound-absorbing sheer boasts acoustic qualities as good as a heavy velvet curtain and offers an effective solution for improved room acoustics without the use of heavy-weight drapery.

BENU REMIX RECYCLED is a finely mottled, heavy wool fabric that resembles a cavalry cloth. It can serve both as a drapery and as an upholstery fabric. Additionally, BENU REMIX RECYCLED has good acoustic values and is suitable for interior schemes needing acoustic solutions. In an environmentally friendly process, BENU REMIX RECYCLED is woven from yarn from recycled fashion industry waste.

BENU Sand Recycled FR 14745
The flame-retardant BENU SAND RECYCLED FR is a softly draping curtain fabric in double-width, with a wavy and soft texture. Made from post-consumer PET bottles, its slightly mottled ondé yarns give the fabric a woolly character.

BENU Talent Recycled FR 14619
The flame-retardant BENU TALENT RECYCLED FR is a recycled velvet derived from post-consumer PET bottles. Due to its high lightfastness, mold and mildew resistance and other qualities, BENU TALENT RECYCLED FR also works as a great outdoor fabric. In order to produce recycled polyester yarn, discarded PET plastic bottles are collected, cleaned, ground into small pieces and then melted down before being spun into high-quality monofilament yarns.
The production of BENU recycled polyester yarn requires approximately 90% less energy and 60% less water than the production of regular polyester.

ANDRIN is a very natural looking, linen-like curtain fabric woven in an inherently flame-retardant polyester quality. The use of different yarn counts gives the surface of the plain weave a structured and natural look and touch.
ANDRIN STRIPE is the same fabric as described with a stripe woven every 8 cm /3 inches in the same colour as the base fabric.

The flame-retardant LINO CS COVER is a durable upholstery fabric with a linen-look. The Trevira CS fiber is dyed in a wide spectrum of shades which are woven into a jacquard with an uneven weave. The similarity to linen is enhanced further by the grey tones which are blended into the fabric.
