Welcome A warm welcome to all FitEx 2013 attendees
FitnessNZ welcomes you to the 2013 FitEx Conference. Due to last years overwhelming support of FitEx, FitnessNZ are proud to present a changed structure for the weekend, meaning more session time slots, with less sessions on at one time. This year we are fortunate to have a range of speakers hailing from all over the globe, as well as many respected New Zealand presenters. Many of the presenters are here today due to the sponsorship in many forms. The major supporters of this event are listed in this booklet. As this conference is not only about learning, it’s about networking and building the strength of the industry, we recommend that you not only sit and listen to the presenters, but take all the opportunities you can to talk to the presenters during breaks, share ideas/concepts with other like-minded exercise professionals. Most of all we want you to ENJOY your weekend. Please take advantage of all the opportunities that present themselves to you to make your conference experience as successful as possible.
Our thanks go to... Thank you to the premium partners of FitnessNZ, without their support putting together events such as the conference, roadshow and Summits would not be possible.
Thank you also to Skills Active and NZ Register of Exercise Professionals for recognising and supporting the FitEx event

Conference A-Z -Continued Session Notes
Sessions with limited places
Transportation - Public Transport
Presenters decide on one of 4 options for notes they will either 1. Have notes in the electronic library 2. Notes will be put in the library after FitEx Conference 3. Hand out notes in the session 4. Have no notes at all!
We do not operate a session booking system so if there is a session that you must see then we suggest you get to the session room early.
See www.maxx.co.nz for trip advice on public transport. Select either “Akoranga Station” or “AUT AV Student village” as the desitnation (see map on back cover)
Sessions may be moved at short notice. This may be done to accommodate more attendees in the session. If this is the case a note will be left on the door as listed on page 8 & 9 advising the new location
Transportation - Awards
www.fitex.co.nz/notes password: 2013fitex In all cases we suggest you take your own notes at any sessions.
Session Info/Speaker Profiles The session and rooming schedule can be found on pages 8 & 9. Please refer to the FitEx brochure for full speaker and session information.
Some sessions may be limited by the availability of equipment, if this is the case you are welcome to share, or observe the session. Yoga/Exercise mats are in high demand so if you have your own and dont mind bringing it, then this will ensure we will always do so.
Transportation - Shuttles Shuttles are the best option if traveling in a group . $49 for 1 then $9 per person there after (see Ride Share information also)
There will also be a bus (arranged by Broni McSweeney) $10 per person in the direction of the city only, make your own way home. See information in Student Village Common Room. If you prefer to use a taxi see phone numbers on page 15
Transportation - Ride Share
If you are planning on booking a shuttle to make the costs less for everyone simply put your name and contact details on the Ride Share board in the student Village Common Room. List the time you will depart, the number of seats available and leave space for people to write names (if you have hired a car and have a free seat you can use this too). NOTE this is not a service offered by FitnessNZ just a suggestion to help you save money.
