Terrace supports or ‘pedestals’ (in French) are high-tech and sophisticated support pillars for constructing elevated floors. They can be used for the floor of a trade fair stand, a concert stage, a dance floor, and, obviously, terraces. We can identify ‘stationary’ floor supports and floor supports which can be ‘adjusted in height’. In some ways, stationary floor supports replace the peg of bygone days and are available in various sizes. Floor supports which can be adjusted in height form a sort of universal support i.e. they fit anywhere. The refined feature of the latter is their versatility: They solve various problems simultaneously. They provide a solution for everything!
of outdoor floors they are a real problem solver, but on the other hand they can also be used perfectly well for making eye-catching architectural creations. Which problems do they solve and how do they do it?
Common situations
Garden extension and swimming pool
A floor support forms a point of support which is usually designed in a certain synthetic onto which an elevated floor can be mounted. Most manufacturers offer two types: one type for the assembly of a wooden floor on beams and another for an elevated tiled floor. For the fitting
It will often also be necessary to eliminate differences in height in order to fit a swimming pool onto an existing terrace. Another common problem is the expansion of the terrace to the garden, certainly if the garden has a slope.

Outdoor parquet In view of the current trend to ‘extend’ indoor floors to the terrace, the existing tile terrace will often need to be raised. That’s perfectly possible with a wooden floor. It goes without saying that such an elevation will also involve some degree of levelling. After all, a wooden floor doesn’t need any slope at all, but an existing tile floor will have one. At the same time, all of us are increasingly likely to want to expand our terrace as a whole.
