The Hottest Winter is Here Winter Party 2014

If you haven’t had the chance to catch your breath from Pride Fort Lauderdale last weekend, you better start pounding those electrolytes, because Winter Party Festival is here. Though WPF’s events are more club and dance oriented, the events are one in the same: It’s an opportunity for the community to come together to show our pride – and it’s for a good cause too. A portion of the net proceeds support the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, which goes toward future actions, giving the power to “build power and create change for LGBT people,” according to the official party’s site. A large portion of the proceeds are also donated to local organizations through grants which are given by The Miami Foundation. There are a lot of events that make up WPF, so plan accordingly.

As the name implies, this hot party (wearing leather in March in Florida pretty much guarantees it) will keep those daddies dancing, with sounds by DJ Ted Eiel. Industry The official signature women’s event of HER Winter Party, Industry will surely keep the ladies dancing, with sounds by DJ/Producer Maximus 3000 and go-go dancers aplenty. However, the official website states that they will have a limited number of tickets available for purchase at the event, so there’s still a chance for you to attend the biggest party of WPF. Sister Act involves a downon-her-luck diva (played by Whoopi Goldberg in the film version) who witnesses a crime and decides her best bet is to hide out in a convent. There, she meets a lovely group of nuns, taken with her moxie and performance skills. She turns them into a zany choir complete with energetic dance moves and a whole lot of soul. Circuit Training Melt Away Fat and Build Muscle by Tom

Bonanti

The main objective of circuit training is to perform a series of weight training exercises moving from station to station in the gym with little or no rest between sets (no more than two or three seconds at the most). Typically done twice to five times a week, circuit training focuses upon working out each body part every session. Choose two exercises for each muscle group and perform 3 sets of 12-15 reps using weights that are challenging yet manageable. This type of workout is great for gaining overall strength, building muscle, and burning fat at the same time! Some cardiovascular benefits can be achieved provided you complete the exercises at each station in rapid succession. A workout like this can be done within the time frame of a lunch hour or on vacation when you need a great pump! A typical session might include 3 sets of 12-15 reps of each of the following exercises: Flat bench dumbbell presses (to strengthen and build chest) Pec Deck flys (to shape and sculpt the chest) Resistance Ball Squats against the wall (for quads and butt) Triceps cable extensions Wide grip cable pull downs (to widen the back) Seated Rows (to strengthen mid and low back) Dumbbell Biceps curls Leg curls (for hamstrings) Dumbbell overhead presses (for shoulders)

Walking lunges (especially good for the butt) Crunches (for abdominals) Notice that each station in a sequence like this involves muscle groups far removed from each other, a practice designed to let one muscle group rest while you blast the opposing muscle group. Let me offer a few pointers here to make sure your circuit training sessions are effective. Place the most important exercises early in the circuit. With this, I mean, that if your arms are your weaker body part, then do your dumbbell curls first. If your butt is a little droopy theses days, then beef it up by doing lunges first! Circuit training is best performed when your gym is not so busy. This way you can move quickly and with ease from station to station and not interfere with other peoplesâ&#x20AC;&#x2122; training. Circuit training is perfect for achieving and maintaining an overall lean and muscular look. Cardiovascular benefits are possible provided you move and stretch between sets instead of taking prolonged rest periods. The circuit method is great for beginners getting into the swing of weight training in a gym. It is ideal for guys who have limited time and busy schedules. Also, for vacationers, circuit training can help you get a great overall pump if you find yourself in a situation where it is hard to find a gym or when the facilities are simple and basic.
