Khozan was the 2020 leading Florida active sire by total progeny earnings with $3,521,813. Khozan was also the leading Florida juvenile sire with progeny earnings in that category of $1,342,145. All totaled, Khozan was represented by 93 runners with 52 winners, including five black type stakes winners and seven black type stakes-placers. Two in the latter group were graded stakes placed. Of Khozan’s five black type stakes winners, three were juvenile stakes winners. Khozan’s leading earner was Florida-bred black type stakes-winner Princess Secret, who banked $434,300 on the season. Owned and trained by Daniel Pita, Princess Secret won the $200,000 Florida Thoroughbred Breeders’ and Owners’ Association Florida Sire Stakes Susan’s Girl at seven furlongs and the $400,000 FTBOA Florida Sire Stakes My Dear Girl at a mile-and-one-sixteenth and was second in the $100,000 FTBOA Florida Sire Stakes Desert Vixen going six furlongs, all at Gulfstream Park. Bred by Brent and Crystal Fernung, the 2018 bay filly is out of Golden Horseshoe, by Belong to Me. Consigned by Journeyman Bloodstock Services to the 2019 Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s October Mixed Sale as a yearling, Princess Secret sold for $30,000 to Manuel Pita. Princess Secret was named the 2020 Florida-bred champion 2-year-old filly. Florida-bred Poppy’s Pride won a trio of black type stakes on the season: the $75,000 Armed Forces Stakes at Gulfstream Park, the $60,000 Juvenile Sprint Stakes at Gulfstream Park West and Inaugural Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs. A Stonehedge LLC homebred, the 2018 bay colt out of Lovely Lexi, by With Distinction, Poppy’s Pride earned $211,724 on the year. Go Jo Jo Go, another Stonehedge LLC homebred, won the $100,000 FTBOA Florida Sire Stakes Desert Vixen at seven furlongs at Gulfstream Park. The 2018 chestnut filly out of Flashy Flirt, by Gulch, was also third in the FTBOA Florida Sire Stakes Susan’s Girl at Gulfstream Park. She earned $112,800 on the season. Rounding out Khozan’s quintet of Florida-bred black type stakes winners were Liam’s Lucky and Legal Deal, both homebreds for Gilbert and Marilyn Campbell’s Stonehedge LLC. Liam’s Lucky, out of the Stormy Atlantic mare P. S. I Love You won the Pasco County Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs and earned $109,000. Legal Deal, out of the Wildcat Heir mare Legal Laura, captured the Millions Sprint Preview Stakes at Gulfstream Park West. Legal Deal banked $91,438 on the season.
