KEEPIN’ UP

s November is upon us, the holidays are quickly approaching. Everyone looks forward to Christmas but I think too many of us skip over what I consider one of the most important holidays, Thanksgiving. We all have so much to be grateful for and unfortunately sometimes we get too wrapped up in the hustle and bustle of everyday life, we forget what’s really important. Yes we all have to work and pay bills, but there is so much more we don’t always appreciate. I am so very thankful and blessed for the many things I have in my life including my wonderful family, friends, education, job, opportunities and the list goes on. But it’s far too often that we forget even though we have to partake in menial every day tasks, we must be happy that we are able and living. And that job we sometimes dislike (somedays a whole lot) leads us to money which besides all its usual suspects, allows us to do something that we all love and enjoy; riding and racing our motorcycles. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I can’t imagine my life without this organization. A huge part of my family and life is embedded in FTR. Family is not defined by blood, but by the love and relationships we have with others. We mustn’t forget how very fortunate each and every one of us are to be able to experience and grow with all of these people and experiences in our racing lives. I hope all of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday and just remember, there’s so much to be thankful for you just have to be willing to see it.

Sincerely, Amanda Richardson FTR VP

WITH AMANDA

s I write this article, we will have been to Hare Scramble number 5 on the schedule in Azalea City but it’s our third actual race with the Sunrunners event coming up next. Unfortunately our club, SADRA, had to postpone our event because of the wet conditions that was caused by days and days of rain. Ironically in the October issue I spoke of this kind of situation with River City having to make a tough decision, now this same decision was upon us. As I look back now and realize that it was the right call, you always have a “what if ” question that seems to get brought up in hopes of a miracle. Well no miracle happened and the parking lot didn’t dry up. We will be rescheduling our event in the near future and look forward to hosting a fun filled weekend for our FTR family. Speaking of the FTR family, we need some stories and pictures for our magazine like the great article from BSTR on their trip to Lincoln National Forest in New Mexico. I know a lot of you go ride and even race outside of Florida, so send in some pictures, write a short story and tell us where you like to go ride at. I know we did a lot of those men trips but those could be classified as a demolition derby, I will not mention any names here but they know who they are. On a little more serious note, in the last article I mentioned our youth and how we need to help them make good decisions and show them the right way. There also is a need to allow them to experience the pleasure and excitement of our sport by encouraging them to always have fun doing it. Maybe they will like riding so much that it stays in their blood and the results of that is we have just got our next generation of riders to keep our sport alive. Along with riding comes trail building, organizing events and having leadership to preserve our sport. If we don’t have today’s youth to carry on all we will have is memories of what it used to be like. I know our club has several young kids that can swing a machete with the best of them and are able to design and layout trail. I guess what I’m saying here is if we don’t pass the torch to our children and get the sport of off-road in their blood, there won’t be any events to go to. Get involved with your local club! Bring your kids and family out to experience the friendship and family time that this sport offers. See you at the races, Randy Faul

ear FTR Family, Can you believe that November is upon us? The weather outside is just beginning to turn cooler. Also, this is the month to ponder upon those people and moments in life for which we are thankful. What am I thankful for? Plenty! To start with, Ethan, our oldest son (in the Navy) will be home at the end of this week; the first time since March. We are hoping he will be able to make it to the Azalea City Race (Hog Waller) with us. Though he will only be able to spend a week at home before he has to report to Norfolk, Virginia (to the USS San Antonio), as a family, we are grateful for that time. Yes we want more, but we are attempting to be thankful for even the little things. My oldest is becoming a man. He is learning to make decision on his own. My prayer, just like any other FTR parent, is that he makes wise choices. Only time will let us know. I am thankful for my youngest son, Austin. He is a great kid. As a race parent, I am so thankful that he has moved to up to the big bikes. If one bike breaks, we can switch around. That is so cool! This makes life so much easier. However, the down side to this maturing process is just that; he’s growing up. Our baby is practically as tall as I am. For those of you that have been in FTR for a long while you have seen both my boys grow up before your very eyes, one weekend at a time. I am thankful for my wife because she is someone I can depend on. For the last 6 weeks she has had to help me out at work immensely. I have worked her (as well as the others at the office) like there was no tomorrow. Yet, she still keeps coming back and has yet to complain. She is a wonderful help mate. Both of us are looking forward to the break that

will come in about 6 more weeks. Lastly, I am thankful for my relationship with Jesus Christ. Did you know He cares very much for both you and me? Unfortunately, the reality is that most will get up in the morning, go through their daily routine and not give the Lord a moment’s thought. When they find themselves in a crisis, they will blame Him. When something does not go their way, He is the first one they curse. However, the reality is that He loves us more than we could imagine. He loves us even when we fail. No one, not even our spouse loves us like He does. But, unfortunately, they have no thanks in their heart for Him. In the book of Luke (19:40) a group of religious leaders were criticizing Jesus because the crowd was shouting praises of thanksgiving to Him. Jesus said, “If they did not shout out in praise, the very rocks would cry out.” It sounds like we should give the Lord His due and not wait on the rocks to do our job. Each of us has something to be grateful to God for. Begin with something small and work your way up. Express those thoughts in a prayer to Him. When upon life’s billows you are tempest-tossed When you are discouraged thinking all is lost. Count you many blessings, name them one by one And it will surprise you what the Lord has done. Johnson Oatman Jr. - 1897 I look forward to seeing you on the line! Your friend, Andy Dickson FTR Chaplain Master A #121

FLORIDA TRAIL RIDERS WHAT’S IN YOUR GEAR BAG ? I t doesn’t matter if you’re the smoothest rider or you’re having an out of control moment, pain doesn’t discriminate when crashing. Having the proper gear could minimize a painful experience from a get off. We all know that it is not a matter of if it will happen but when it will happen. Riding / racing can be dangerous, we all know that but we don’t let that stop us, so let’s do all we can to make our body’s as protected as

possible. First let’s take a look at what FTR requires. •A helmet must be worn in all events. Helmets must carry a Safety Helmet Council of America serialized sticker and be on the SHCA approved list. All helmets must be full coverage or full facial units (no shorties). •It is recommended that footwear, a minimum of eight inches high and either laced, multi-buckled, zippered or especially designed and constructed for leg and foot protection be worn. Boots must be worn at all events. •It is recommended that shatterproof goggles or face shields be worn. Some type of eye protection must be worn by all riders. •It is recommended that protective pants be worn. These may be of leather or other durable material subject to approval by the referee. No shorts. It is also recommended that long-sleeved shirts be worn. I am not here to debate whether or not we agree with these rules just that these are the rules in our current rule book. With that said, there are many other pieces of equipment that can provide us added protection. Yes I realize that many of these pieces of equipment can be expensive and when buying gear for a family of racers it can add up very quickly. However let me ask you this, what is more important than you and your family’s safety? You wouldn’t sent a racer out on his motorcycle with a front tire ready to fall off, that’s dangerous, so why would you send a racer out without the most protective gear possible? The Basics •Helmet - A helmet should be the appropriate size, should be the latest safety standards, and should be replaced any time the integrity of it has been compromised. Remember this protects your brain. •Goggles - Obviously these protect your eyes. Many times I see riders with their goggles off due to weather etc. However, remember you only get one set of eyes and it only takes one piece of debris to lose an eye permanently. •Boots - Protect your feet, ankles and lower legs from rocks thrown at you off the tire of the racer in front of you to burns from your exhaust in the event you end up under the bike. Many boots also have excellent ankle protection for those inevitable tumbles. •Pants and shirt – no brainer here. You cannot ride in your

underwear! Appropriate pants and shirts provide minimum protection to your skin from all the elements. •Gloves - Like pants and shirts these protect your hands from the elements. Some even have rubber like palms that help with gripping the handle bars. The Extras •Neck brace - The premise is to redirect some of the forces that stress the neck to other parts of the body. This is known as axial loading. An example of this would be going over the bars and landing on you head. Braces also work to limit the extreme range of motion in the neck during a crash known as hyperextension or hyper flexion. There are many types available from the race collar which is inexpensive to the neck brace that can cost several hundred dollars. The bottom line here is again you only have one spine and spinal cord and I suggest you do everything you can to protect it. •Chest protector / roost guard – They protect your chest area from debris coming off the tires of the riders in front of you, also take the impact when hitting the soil and spread it out over the entire chest area instead of a specific point of impact thus hopefully lessening the insult to the body. Trust me your ribs will thank you. These come in many styles and costs to fit everyone and your budget. •Knee guards / knee braces – Guards are just that. They are usually made from a hard plastic designed to protect the knee and shin from roost and offer NO protection from a hyper extension or hyper flexion type injury. They are very inexpensive and are at the least a good start for all riders. Knee braces provide the hyperextension and hyper flexion protection as well as the majority of them have the knee cup for added protection to the front of the knee. Yes these can be very expensive so keep this in mind, anything is better than nothing, you get what you pay for and lastly they are cheaper than an MRI and the potential surgery post a knee injury. Remember we all take care of our motorcycles so that they perform flawlessly during a race, so why not make sure your body has the most protection to take you to the checkered flag safely. On a side note those that have signed up for the Rider Safety RFID tags remember to stop by pick them up. See you all at the next race, Donny Richardson Rider Safety Coordinator RN EMT/P

FLORIDA TRAIL RIDERS FIVE GUYS, ONE QUESTION QUESTION: What did you learn during your time in Junior A?

JESSE ANSLEY

JORDAN LEFTWICH

CHANDLER HILL

TRAVIS HICKEY OPEN B

JUNIOR A

“I learned a lot last year with jumping on a full size bike. Learning to take your time and make less mistakes. I did have one bump in the road; breaking my leg at round 3. I was more eager to ride after my broken leg and rode a lot smarter and a lot faster.”

“Something I learned while being in junior A class was how much faster the riders are. For example moving from junior B to A I realized you always have to give 100 percent at all times there’s never a chance were you get to relax and slow down.”

“I skipped Junior A but in Junior B, last year, I learned a lot, I’d have to thank Jordan leftwich for giving me suggestions and pointers on how to become a faster rider and the Nutters for allowing me to practice with them. At the Florida GNCC I ran my dads KTM 300 and had a blast, it made me comfortable on a two stroke again and helped me to control the bike better.”

“What I learned during my racing in Junior A is that everyone is fast and its all about who makes the least mistakes.”

“I always try to find someone about my pace and while behind them I try to learn from them, whether it is picking better lines or clutch/throttle control.”

The competition was tight at round 2 of the 2015-2016 FTR hare scramble series. The Clash at the Peace River event, hosted by the Central Florida Trail Riders, proved to be another awesome weekend of racing at the great Bartow property. Although it was another hot one the weather held out and the course was pristine and at the end of the day there were a lot of smiling faces. Great job to CFTR for organizing another outstanding weekend.

FLORIDA TRAIL RIDERS TECHTIPS

GOGGLE MAINTENANCE

B

esides your helmet, goggles, in my opinion, are the most important piece of riding gear that we put on. They protect your eyes, the one part of your body that, if injured, probably will never be the same again. That unseen branch, flying roost carrying mud, rocks and sand, and even dust all pose a significant danger to your peepers. It’s been suggested that serious riders have at least three pairs of good quality goggles in their gear bag but with the advancements in tech and design the cost has skyrocketed. Who would have thought of seeing a pair hitting the $200 mark? With that being said, goggle maintenance is super key to making your investment last. Here are some tips to extending the life of you favorite pair of lenses and your eyes. TIP #1 After you’ve removed the lens, soak the frame in a sink filled with warm water and a small amount of dish soap for about a half hour. Using just your fingers, carefully work the soap into the foam and strap. Rinse the goggles with cool clean water and set them aside in an open area to air dry. Don’t use a hair dryer(or a heat gun!) to dry them. This could damage the integrity of the frame and the foam. Also, I’ve heard of guys trying to take the easy way and throw their frames in the dish or clothes washer. Not cool. This could warp your frame and destroy the foam and strap. TIP #2 Now on to the lens. Everyone knows that lenses are the most expensive part of the goggle, especially those trick iridium ones. Special care is need to make sure they last. Wash the large pieces of mud and roost off under a stream of warm water. You can use a soft micro-fiber cloth to get stubborn chunks off but do it under the stream of water. Remember not to reuse an area of the cloth twice as it will hold debris that could scratch the lens. After the dirt is off, I use a very small amount of liquid Dawn between my thumb and index finger and gently clean the OUTSIDE of the lens. Try not to put

anything on the inside except for water as most good lenses have a anti-fog coating on them. Set your lens aside in a clean place to dry completely before you attempt the task of re-installing them into the frame. Once back in the frame, use a cloth made for optics to finish the detailing. TIP #3 Inspect your goggles closely. If the foam is torn, your lenses are scratched, the strap has lost it’s stretch, or the frame is broken in anyway, it’s time to replace them. Riding with worn out goggles can be distracting and dangerous. TIP #4 Everyone knows if you ride FTR you will be riding in mud! Florida mud and roost can make a mess of goggles in a short time. Using tearoffs can protect the lens from scratches and help give you a clear view of your next obstacle. The most common are the thin film tearoffs that fit onto the pegs. Loading a stack onto your goggles can be tricky. Do them one at a time and use as many as you think you’ll need but keep in mind the more you use the more cloudy your vision may get. If you fold the large opening on the end of the tearoff back over the peg before you load the next one you will avoid grabbing and ripping off the whole stack at one time like I did when I first used them. Also it’s best to load your goggles at home in a clean environment and when your not in a hurry. Having a few pairs ready to go so you can swap them when you pit will make your race a lot more fun. Here are some other quick tips: •Try to avoid storing them in zip-lock bags because they create static that will attract all of the dust. •Invest in a good goggle case and don’t toss them into the bottom of your gear bag. •Dryer sheets or static dusting sheets will help repel dust from your lens. •Keep micro fiber cloths in a clean area off your gear bag for your lens. •Use a small amount of a petroleum gel like lip balm and wipe it onto the foam air filter. This will help dust from getting inside your goggles. This one sounds weird but I got it from someone at the banquet. Sorry I can’t credit the person for their wisdom but I forgot who it was. •Cut long strips of feminine hygiene pads and put them in between the foam and your forehead and it will absorb the sweat. Take this advice however you want.

FLORIDA TRAIL RIDERS PITBITS On behalf of FTR, Florida Trail Riders Magazine would like to congratulate Jesse Ansley for wrapping up the 2015 Grand National Cross Country series with the highly coveted National number One plate. It took a lot of hard work and determination for Jesse to get to this point in his career and he should be very proud of what he’s accomplished as he enters the next level of competition. Great job Jesse!

FTR would like to thank Rocky Mountain ATV MC for their continued support through their Race Gas Program. As all of you should know, every time you register for an FTR event you will receive a $10 Rocky Mountain gift card. This shows awesome dedication to the sport of off road racing. Support those that support our sport. FTR Magazine would like to wish Eric Berard a speedy and full recovery. Eric had a pretty nasty crash at the Hog Waller Hare Scramble and left with some significant injuries. Get well and we look forward to seeing you back at it soon.

Don’t miss The Old School Dirt Riders hare scramble in Punta Gorda, December 5-6. Jason Raines will be there for a Yamaha Demo Day with a full line up of 2015 and 2016 Yamaha off road machines, including the new YZ450 FX. Thanks to Central Florida Powersports for sponsoring this great event!

FLORIDA TRAIL RIDERS In the spirit of the Thanksgiving Holiday, FTR members answered the time honored question, “What are you thankful for?” “I’m thankful to have been able to have the opportunity to be a part of both of these amazing sports; showing horses and motocross. I know both sports are very financially draining and it’s a blessing to be able to participate in both. Thanks to my parents, I’ve been fortunate enough to do both. I switched back to showing AQHA after racing FTR, it was an extremely hard decision. I was so torn between the two, because I have such a strong passion for both. I’ve been riding horses since I was 3 years old, and showing almost as long; its second nature to me. Racing, on the other hand, is fairly new to me. I had only been riding my dirt bike for a matter of months prior to racing FTR, however, I’ve been riding quads since I was about 7. I might attend an occasional race with my quad if I can. I’ve definitely been wanting to. Riding is an indescribable feeling, in both cases. It’s so adrenaline pumping yet takes so much focus and precision. There is an art to both, and I very much respect that.” Lauren Neidenfeuhr mark sims photography.com

“I’m thankful of how we all are like a big family. Everybody helps each other, like when I had a pit stop and my dad had to do it by himself... people helped. I don’t have to worry about putting away my bike or product because everybody in FTR can be trusted. It’s a great group of extraordinary people and I’m glad to have found FTR and my home for racing!” Larry Adams #111 Got Oil? Motorsports

“I am thankful for each and every FTR member and the clubs for making it possible to spend every other weekend with my boys and some of the best people I know doing what we all love and making the race weekends like a mini vacation every time we go. Couldn’t find a better way to spend time and money.” Brian Dinkel

“I’m thankful for all the friends that I have met over the years; and thankful that FTR and the clubs give us a place to ride and race and enjoy the sport that we love.” Bobby Henderson Ramseys Dad 352 Motorsports Inc. Cookie Consieur

“Meeting people in my area to ride and camp with. Makes the events more enjoyable when you’ve got friends to hang out with and help out on the bikes if it’s needed. Everybody helps everybody. We didn’t have a whole lot of that with Stock Car racing like I used to race.” Dalton Ellis

“Uncle Bill has always given me words of encouragement since I was a little kid. In the last few years I have been helping him with the starts and sweeping when I can. I have also spent a lot of time with him, Bradley, B.C. and Michael at their camp. He has always helped me and encouraged me to be a better rider and person. We cook meals together, watch movies and bench race a lot. His camp is my second home. Many thanks to him.” Jake Alsup “I am thankful for the time FTR gives us to bring families together and for all the new friendships. I am Thankful for BC and his 5 star dinners. The man can cook!! I am beyond Thankful to Uncle Bill who has taken me in and given me the factory ride life style and a friendship like no other that I will always appreciate. Uncle Bill has changed my life for the better and I am forever grateful.” Michael Collins

“Someone once asked me to describe Uncle Bill, and I wasn’t really sure how to start. To say that he puts his heart and soul into racing and FTR, doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface. This man has put more of his time and energy into our organization than ever imaginable. From building tracks, managing the politics and working the events just to mention a few, he has done it all. To say we appreciate him is a huge understatement. Uncle Bill is family, always has been and always will be. If you don’t know him or haven’t taken the time to talk to him, you’re missing out big time. For me personally he has been a shoulder to cry on, a helping hand, mentor and so much more. I can’t imagine our organization or even my life without him. The least I can do is say thank you for everything you have done and everything you do. You are an amazing person and mean more to me than you’ll ever know.” Amanda Richardson

“Thankful for the friends and family atmosphere that we have been able to enjoy and Jake has been able to grow up around. For the knowledge learned, and the places we have gotten to see on our trips...The FTR village.” Thomas P. Miller. Julie and Jake’s Team Manager.

“I’m thankful to all the of crews that make races happen . It’s always a blast in FTR. Thanks to FTR for giving me the opportunity. And I’m really thankful of how they have different classes so everyone can enjoy the Florida tracks.” “We live 2 ride...brappp!” Nandy Davila #123A

“I’m thankful for all the friendships I’ve made, all the wonderful people I’ve met, and the friendly competition...and I love riding a new trail. I could go on and on...lol. Thanks.” Scott Curtis #28A

“The family atmosphere! A whole community pops up in the middle of cow pastures every other weekend and everyone involved is out supporting each other, helping each other out, and calling you by name! It’s the best competitive environment I’ve ever seen.” Cassie Roo Jacobs

“The sportsmanship of all my fellow racers...like a big family. The Photobrappers that spend all day in the heat just to take pics of us then spend countless hours editing and uploading them. All of the hard work the clubs do to put on a race.” Chad Holman

“I’m thankful for all the great people that make up FTR. And to my FTR Family; the Berards, the Gawlers and Brandon Misciagno. Thankful for TF Racing and their awesome family. And or course my wife who makes it so I can go racing !” Ron Commo III

“I am thankful for our volunteer safety crew, races with an MX section, races with plenty of spectator areas, friends who take me to the races, people who give me rides out to the far off photo ops and friends who ride with my logo. Dorothy Dekmar Dekdef Photos

Thankful for the extended family and many many friends that I have found. Katie Martin Klucinec

“I’m thankful for my family’s support and the whole FTR community for making every race worth coming to.” Spencer St. John.

“Thankful that I can race with my sons and make memories. Thankful that my wife supports what we love to do.” Joe Carrasquillo

“Camaraderie. Family. New friends. Teaching my son fair competition and the value of putting in the effort to earn what you want.” Eddie Adams

FLORIDA TRAIL RIDERS A LITTLE ABOUT SCOTT CURTIS!

S

BY Kim Mousette 13/14 Pit mom of the Year

cott, like many of us, loves dirt bikes. His love started from the time he learned to ride a bicycle but unfortunately his mom didn’t feel the same way. That didn’t stop Scott as he found a way around it with his best friend, David Goldstick (Stick for short.) Together they cut grass and did odd job’s until they saved up enough to buy a 1973 CR 125 Elsinore. Stick didn’t know how to ride yet so Scott drove the bike home with Stick hanging on the back for dear life. Even back then Scott was good at tearing things apart and he actually got the bike back together in Sticks garage. It wasn’t his best work by far but he got it running and they sold it. Their next bike was a trade, a BMX bike and a guitar for a 1978 YZ 250 with a fox racing shock. They where 12&13 years old at the time. Scott was the larger and stronger of the two and could ride the best and was the obvious one to drive. Stick stayed on the back hanging on while they rode all over the back roads in Sanford. Their parents had no idea all this was going on. I don’t want to give anybody the details of some of their stunts and adventures but they were lucky enough to have grown up in Florida when boys could be boys especially in Sanford, where all the rail lines were everywhere and it was totally safe. Back then it was completely normal for your kids to disappear the whole day. You can imagine the adventures they had! I’m sure if you ask them they will gladly tell you. Fast forward to 2005 when they both got dirt bike fever again. Scott had been riding a four wheeler for a few years and Stick had just bought a 450 X. They hadn’t ridden together in years. On this particular day Stick, (Stick was a fast guy now) said they were riding around out in Paisley and it was all he could do to keep up with Scott on his 4 wheeler. When they stopped Stick told him that he would be even faster on two wheels. Two weeks later Scott bought a dual sport Suzuki and started riding every chance he got. This is around the time when Glenn and I met Scott for the first time, we were camping on the east side of Lake Dorr in Ocala before they started all the restrictions. All my guys were out on the trails and these two guy’s pull up, Scott takes off his helmet and ask me if I knew Travis Mousette or Dave Thompson I said yes Travis is my son and they are out on the trails, so they took off and found them. Well it wasn’t too long after that Scott realized he needed more power to keep up with all these guy’s. By the next time I saw him he had upgraded to an 06 CRF 450 and was thinking about starting to race FTR. A couple of us had started racing the 05/06 FTR season so he waited and practiced a lot and then started racing with a small group of us in the beginning of the 06/07 FTR season. Scott and Stick raced in Vet C and Scott placed 2nd and Stick won the Championship and both were promoted. Scott moved up to Senior B the 07/08 season and won his Championship. He remained in the top 10 except for 09/10 season when he only raced twice. Then in 12/13 season Scott moved to Super

Senior A and placed 2nd over all for the last two seasons. Scott has always done all the work on his bikes and somehow always finds time to help others with just about anything from rebuilding Glenn’s 250’s to being a loving son, father and friend to so many of us. July 2015 Scott became a grandfather! When I asked Scott what he loved about this sport and FTR his reply was he just loves riding and there is nothing in the world he would rather do. He loves the way FTR is so family oriented and treasures all the wonderful friends he has been blessed to meet since he started racing with FTR. This is a sport where even the best competitor’s can also be the best of friend’s. August 2015, a week before our FTR Awards Expo, I found out that Scott had been chosen for a sponsorship by Seminole Power Sports out of Sanford, Fl. SPS put Scott on a brand new Husqvarna. When I asked Gillis Norrington with SPS what made them choose Scott he said that Scott was the ultimate person to sponsor and this is why. “Seminole Power Sports staff are always looking for someone who isn’t trying to sell themselves or push themselves on SPS. Scott is always a pleasure to be around and has never been looking for handouts or a free ride. We offered Scott a discount program and he was so extremely grateful just to have the parts discounted and never asked or expected anything more than that. Between all of his personal qualities and Scott’s excellent riding abilities he was the perfect choice. Kirby and myself (Gillis) spoke with Tony Young who is part owner of Seminole Power Sports about taking him in and making him a SPS Team Rider.” SPS and Gillis also had a great deal to do with Klim Riding gear a rapidly growing gear company from out west, picking Scott up and furnishing him with some awesome gear and safety equipment . Mike Wilshaw with MRW Race Suspension, who is another really great guy, supplied the smooth ride for Scott for the same reasons. He knows Scott personally and thinks that Scott is a gifted rider and the nicest person you could be blessed to know as do all of us that know him. As for Scott, I know how much he loves FTR and has never met an FTR track that he didn’t like or any track for that matter. If he woke up and drove all the way there he is going to race and do his best no matter what the track conditions are. Scott never complains and is just so thankful to be able to be a part of FTR. Scott has raced a race and finished, with a flat tire, in 2nd place and I have never heard him try to make excuses about anything. He will just come out and tell you what he did instead of trying to blame another racer or the track. He proved this to me at our first Hare Scramble this season and his very first ride onboard his new Husqvarna. He came over afterwards and told me he picked the wrong line and spent a lap stuck but he turned it around at Peace River getting a third place. I know he will only get better as he gets to know his new machine because he definitely has the skills.
