FLORIDA TRAIL RIDERS O

ur H/S season has finally started with CFTR kicking off the excitement followed by AC/ MC. It was really great to see all of our FTR family once again as it’s been forever trying to get our events in and trying to keep on schedule. As we all have battled the hurricanes that has seemed to test our patience, it has once again made me think of how lucky we all were as it could have been a whole lot worse than it was. I hope that all of us came through the storm with little or no major damage. I believe we all were ready to get back to normal and being able to circle the wagons was the best way to do it. With two great events in the books finally, we are working daily with our clubs trying to reschedule and make room somewhere on the schedule to get back into some kind of a routine. We all need to realize that we are going to have to be flexible to the point that being patient and understanding in these next few months will go a long way in getting our season back on track. All the years I have been an FTR member, I don’t think I remember a season as unpredictable as this one. All I know is we are back racing and that’s what is keeping a lot of us from losing our minds! LOL Thanks for listening, Randy Faul

It's been a long, wet summer but we are finally away and running with the 2017-2018 season. Cooler weather is around the corner and I for one am going to welcome it with open arms. I wanted to that a moment to thank everyone for being patient with the magazine the last couple of months. With all of the cancellations and reschedules we've already had, a decision was made to go online only with the last couple of issues and preserve the budget set for printing. You can look forward to the next issue getting back to the normal printing schedule. I also wanted to thank those that have contributed content. This is a club magazine and everyone is welcome to submit photos, articles, race reports etc. Send anything you have to ftrmagazine@dekmar3d.com. I look forward to seeing you at the track Dave Magazine Editor

FLORIDA TRAIL RIDERS A.R.C. PRO FLEX KNEE GUARDS: Big protection for your knees in a little package.

B Product Review

elieve it or not I know guys that ride without any knee protection and I think it's pretty safe to say

that when you take a tumble, hard or soft, you're knees are going to make contact with something. Well, you don't have to break the bank to put some protection on top of your patella and prevent a date with the ice packs. I came across a set of A.R.C. Pro Flex Knee and Shin Guards and I was very surprised. These little beauties are made of high impact plastic and offer full coverage protection, even above the knee. The biofoam padding and pivoting hinges make these light weight pads very comfortable and airy. While these, by no means, offer the

Pee Wee B Racer Ryan Keane

same level of protection as higher quality knee pads or the ultimate in protective knee braces they are certainly better than nothing at all. Best of all, you will only drop about $26 on the A.R.C.'s. Ask for them at your local shop or check out Rocky Mountain ATV. ~editor

GETTING TO KNOW.. Tydarius Jones Name: Tydarius Jones Class and Number: Mini C, Honda 150R, 7c. Why 7?: Because that's my favorite number, and my favorite rider is James Stewart .

How did you get into racing?: I became interested in dirtbike at age 5. It wasn't until I was 13 and became friends with Jayten that I was able to ride on a regular basis. I started out on Dustin's 1994 yz80, I caught on quickly, they started talking about the race season coming up and that's when Jayten Elliott, Gage Black and I decided we all wanted to race. But as a team. Team D.T.R. " Dusty Trail Riders". Jayten Elliot and I have became friends and that's how I met Dustin and Mrs. Ashley. How did your first race go?: My first race I assumed was going to be quite difficult and hard. However it was easier than I expected. I wanted to train hard. I thought, "If I want to be faster I have to go faster." How about your first win?: My first win, I prayed that morning that if God showed me a chance to win I would take it. When the boy in front of me crashed I knew I had been in second, I assumed I was first but did not know. It wasn't until I came through scoring and stopped and Mrs Ashley told me I won that I knew. I didn't believe her at first. My favorite part was revving the engine out!

What are your plans for next year?: Next year's

plans are to start in Jr C, train harder and ride faster by the end of season I want to be racing and winning Jr B. But I'm not rushing!!

Who do you want to thank?: I would like to thank Williams Custom Jewelry, Seminole Power Sports, Dustin and Ashley Morgan, DND Suspension, Signs and Wonders of Sanford, my Grandparents, GOD, and my friends and family that have supported me!

Editor's Note: Since this interview Tydarius went

on to win his first FTR Championship in the Mini C Class in his first year riding and racing dirt bikes. Congratulations FLY TY! We look forward to what the future holds for you.

A Message From Team D.T.R Hello... Team D.T.R. has been extremely busy over the summer from working on their own bikes to helping port others, building a 65 motor, to helping with another friends RM250. Jayten, Ty, Gage, and Anthony have been keeping us on our toes. They gather trash every weekend from where ever we are riding. In hopes that others will see us doing so and help us keep the earth Green. We have had two fund raiser car washes so far that have helped a lot going toward their FTR memberships, a little gear and race fees. We CAN NOT wait until the first race. I believe everyone is super excited.. A special thank you to the Koster family for the package they sent to the kids. They were ecstatic to play Trivia and each win some of all the things you sent! We are forever grateful. So, until you see us out there... BBRRAAPP!. Thank you to our sponsors; Seminole Power Sports, Williams Custom Jewelry, DND suspension, Gillis Norrington, Doug Watson, Grahmn Combs, and many more for your support and faith in what we are providing these children. Thanks so much! Ashley and Dustin Morgan........
