REPort Charlie Tanck Regional Executive
The Region’s thanks go out to Lynn Randall for her work on testimonials for the Membership Recognition picnic. She put a lot of work into digging up the details for the presentations and did a great job as the presenter. We were sorry that Gene Dinkel could not attend as planned and thank Bob Henderson for his presentation on Gene. I hope everyone enjoyed themselves and had a chance to catch up with old friends. I would also like to thank Dave Ciufo for helping at the grill. As the year progresses, I find myself constantly asking other Board members about the Region’s policies and where to find them. Carl Dresie usually comes through digging into his Top End archives to find the needed document. The lack of easily found guidelines/policy can be very aggravating. It is a time waster. We need to do a better job so that members can find out who does what when in need of supplies for programs or want to try a new endeavor. We discussed at the Board meeting the opportunity we now have as we upgrade our website
4
to add an administrative page to list some guidelines for things that seem to be discussed continuously at meetings but never seem to be finalized. We will try to address one area at each meeting. The intent is not to make bulletproof guidelines that try to correct anything that went wrong over the years. We will try to say what we do and do what we say. Those of you that have worked in various industries know how important this can be. I have to admit before I retired I hated efforts like this and was more interested in solving problems and getting a product out the door. We are fortunate that we have very strong and reliable competition groups. Everything gets done. That is not a problem. Making it easier for the doers is a goal. We want to give more freedom and authority to the groups once budgets are approved to implement their plans and modify them as things come up. The Region’s Board has a responsibility to not only look at the short term but to also make the Region stronger in the long term. All that being said the 2014 season is progressing. The SOLO program’s first events were well attended and they are off to a good start. The Rally and RallyCross programs are slated to present their budget/schedule at the June Board meeting. Westward Ho at Nelsons Ledges is the Race group’s first event and should be complete at this time. It’s hard to believe that 2014 is half over. I hope all our member are having a good year.

Site is planned to go live June 6. TREASURER'S REPORT We're waiting on money from Solo. We've had lots of expenses. We're updating our credit card processing to get rid of fees and bring machines into compliance with modern technology. We are exploring a credit card for use on incidentals. ACTIVITIES The June 3rd picnic at Camp Eastman will replace the general membership meeting.
July 2014
RACE Questions as to whether Nelson Ledges is still open because the website states "Track activities are indefinitely suspended." Nobody can reach the track. We need contingency plans. We need to know if we can get our money back. RALLY Preparing budget for RoadRally and RallyCross. Tentative schedules have been set for the upcoming RoadRally and RallyCross seasons. SOLO Working on trailer proposal. The out of region event at Ralph Wilson Stadium went well. MCC had 94 attendees and very low cost. The Novice School is scheduled for June 7, followed by a series event on June 8. BOARD DEVELOPMENT How can we make things easier and more structured? The board focus should be governance and finance. The activity groups should focus on the day to day operations. The groups should bring proposals to the board to minimize micromanagement. The first thing we'll discuss is financial policy. Charlie proposed that we reimburse for convention attendance, board approved. Charlie proposed that the RE and treasurer be given authority to spend to a certain amount without board approval, the board approved. Meeting adjourned 8:59 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Marcus Kroll, Secretary

The Finger Lakes region ran our annual Novice School at RIT on a very hot and sunny June 7. It was well attended, with approximately 30 entrants and a large variety of vehicles and students. After running the course once for a baseline, the groups were broken up into RWD, FWD and AWD groups and run through the figure eight, acceleration/brake, mini course, and slalom. The day ended with two more runs through the full course to see improvement. June 8 saw the region hold its first RIT event of the year. The RIT Formula SAE team attended with their radically winged racecar, and we were happy to see them again after their absence over the past year. With approximately 90 entrants, the competition was fierce, with competitors enjoying the longest straights and highest speeds of the year coupled with highly technical elements designed by Dave Potacki. The next event will be held at the Syracuse Fairgrounds on June 22, in conjunction with the Central NY region. Marcus Kroll

Rally Tom Langdon Interim Rally Chair
Rally Meeting Notes
June 10, 2014 96 Church Street, Victor, NY These notes are grouped by subject and are not in chronological order. The following seven RoadRally and RallyCross enthusiasts were present; Rick Barnes, Carl Dresie, Ben Gilmore, Jerry Kerwin, Tom Langdon, Jim Perrin and Tony Zanni. General Rally Ben presented draft budget for the rally effort, giving an overall budget, RoadRally budget and RallyCross budget. This really covers April to April as the fiscal rally year. Changes and additions/deletions were requested. The updated version will be presented to the Finger Lakes Region board at their July meeting. The budget and actual will be compared at the end of the season. Gary Thomas has obtained rally clocks from NASA? They have upgraded to a system using “Nooks.” RallyCross Nine RallyCross dates have been requested for the 2014-2015 series. The first event will be in June, with an event each month through February. The field work to improve the course at Perry’s Park is starting. This is being done in exchange for a family membership and entry into each event. Gravel is in hand; tile and drainage pipe will be purchased to create drainage ditch crossovers. James Quattro, the NEDiv RallyCross Steward, will be organizing the RallyCross proposed for Watkins Glen International. . STPR®2014 There were two competitors and four volunteer workers from the 2014 performance rally in attendance. As a result there were a significant number of anecdotes from the event told. Results are to be printed in the July issue of Top End. Full results, articles, etc. can be found at www.stpr. org and www.Rally-America.com. There are a number of www.youtube. com videos showing the action (search for STPR). Tony has three stages posted. Ben has a video showing three bears, four deer and a turkey. Friday’s Super Special stages were not completed due to heavy dust. Demonstration runs were made by the top for teams. Saturday’s Super Special Stages were revised.
2014 July
Results and more can be found at: http://www.stpr.org/, http://www. rally-america.com/ and on www.youtube.com/ (search spr 2014). Summer/Social Rallies Two social rallies are typically scheduled. This year Lynn Randall ran the “Path to Patrick Place” this spring and Rick Barnes will write a fall rally. Others may be scheduled. Winter Rally Series Dates have been set for a five event winter rally series running January 2015 into March. Miscellaneous Discussions Jim Perrin, a Western New York board member, has taken a job in the Rochester area and is moving to the Rochester area. The Finger Lakes Region’s website is being updated. It is requested that the rally group review the proposed rally area of the site and make suggestions for improvement. SUBARU RALLY TEAM USA DOMINATES STPR® RALLY Posted June 01, 2014
Subaru Rally Team USA’s David Higgins and Craig Drew dominated the Susquehannock Trail Performance Rally ® (STPR ® ), the fourth round of the Rally America National Championship, on May 30-31 in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania. It is the third overall victory for the team this season to widen their Rally America points standings lead. Higgins and Drew won all twelve stages while being first on the road and drove flawlessly while their closest rivals, FY Racing’s Adam Yeoman and Jordan Schulze, gave chase until Yeoman crashed into a tree on Stage 9. The drivers were reported okay. With Higgins building a comfortable lead into the last stages of STPR, George Plsek and Paddy Robinson stayed steady to take second in class. Plsek credited his first national podium to just driving his own race and not letting the possibility of finishing on the national podium to force him into any mistakes. Vi n d i c a t i o n c a m e f o r S u p e r Production’s Nick Roberts and Rhianon Gelsomino who amazingly placed third overall and won their class in the process. The team lost their primary car when it caught fire at the Oregon Trail Rally three weeks prior and accelerated the build of their backup car in time to enter STPR. Roberts and Gelsomino overcame suspension damage from a Stage 1 jump and the car ultimately stayed problem free to give them a chance for victory. Despite winning eight of the twelve stages in their class, Dillon Van Way and Andrew Edwards were leading STPR until their engine failed on Stage 14. In a great display of sportsmanship, Roberts towed Van Way’s car into the last service of the day, which allowed 14
Van Way to start the last stage under his own power. Van Way could not finish, however, resulting in him placing fourth place in class. Evan Cline and Greg Dorman took second in Super Production, followed by class newcomers Mark Piatkowski and Robert Maciejski to round out the podium. It is Piatkowski and Maciejski’s first national podium in just their first national rally. Dillon Van Way will keep his Super Production standings lead and Nick Roberts keeps it close by 4 points in second. Ford Fiestas swept the Two-Wheel Drive (2WD) podium. Rookie of the Year candidates and datingsites.com drivers, Troy and Jeremy Miller, took their third podium finish this year and their first ever in the top spot. Andrew Comrie-Picard and Ole Holter’s second place keeps them in the 2WD standings lead, and co-driver John Hall helped Panos Karpidas land on his first national 2WD podium in third. James Robinson and Brian Penza continued their B-SPEC Class domination in their Honda Fit with a fourth straight win. However, a scary
moment happened when B-SPEC rivals Tracey Gardiner and Tabitha Lohr survived a multiple rollover on Stage 10. They were transported to the local hospital for evaluation and were quickly released and seen at the victory circle in good spirits. Troy Miller’s 2WD victory moves him into second in the 2WD points standings, and James Robinson will assume third. Subaru’s overall and Super Production wins will extend their respective points leads in Rally America’s Manufacturers’ standings. Ford and Honda’s victories also add valuable points in the 2WD and B-SPEC manufacturer categories. The STPR Rally was originally scheduled with sixteen stages, but stewards canceled Super Special Stages 4 and 5 due to unsafe visible conditions due to hanging thick dust. Stage 13 was scratched to deal with Gardiner and Lohr’s rollover aftermath, and Super Special Stage 16 was canceled. For more go to: http://www.rallyamerica.com/ and http://www.stpr.org/

Membership Recognition 55 Years
Howard "Gene" Dinkel By J. Robert Henderson I am delighted that the Finger Lakes Region has asked me to talk about the contributions and service that Howard Eugene Dinkel has made to the region during his 55 years of membership. A span that we all celebrate this evening. Gene we miss you and wish you could be with us this evening. (See message from Elizabeth Hughes following. Ed.) You may have joined the Finger Lakes Region in 1959 to have been a crew member for Roger Clouser, your dear friend and co-worker, on his H Production Bugeye Sprite. But-Boy oh Boy - what you did for the Finger Lakes Region during the following fifty plus years, stands out as one of the greatest individual list of contributions. Perhaps the “greatest” single total sum of contributions made by a member in the history of the region! Please bear with me – here we go - ! 1. ’59 - Crewed for Roger Clouser and joined the Finger Lakes Region and Sports Car Club of America. 2. ’61 and beyond – Served as a Grid Marshal for many F1 and other races at the Glen. 3. ’63 – Served as Top End editor. 4. Authored “Cluttered Garage” a great column in Top End that we all enjoyed. 5. ’66 - Organized a teen league gymkhana at Brighton High School. The cars were provided by Heinrich Chevrolet. Gene’s occupation as an advertising person gave him the access to put the thumb on Heinrich. 6. ’66 - Received the FLR sportsmanship award. 7. ’67 and beyond – Organized the St. Joseph’s Villa Kids Rally. 8. ’68 – Chaired the FLR autocross at the Monroe County Fairgrounds. At that event, Bill Bell drove my Mini. The tachometer was acting up and Bill failed to shift in time – BOOM! 9. ’69 – Served as Activities Director. Gene served on every board position except Treasurer.

10. E lected to the region’s board of directors; ’73, ’88, ’89, ’97, ’98, ’09 and 10. 11. Served as Assistant Regional Executive; ’74 and ’79. 12. Chaired the Finger Lakes Region’s National races at Watkins Glen; ’76, ’85, ’88 and ’95. 13. Awarded the region’s Outstanding Contribution to the Region; ’76, ’85 and ’88. 14. ’ 77 through ’86 served as Race Control Chairman. 15. Served as Regional Executive; ’78 and ’87. 16. ’ 79 – Joined the race Steward’s program and served as a steward for over thirty years. 17. ’79 – Created the Outstanding Worker Award. 18. ’81 – Started his racing career. Among the cars raced were a Ford Pinto, Opel and Buick. It took bravery to drive a Pinto due to the possibility of a gas fire. The Buick was street driven for a number of years. Gene also occasionally drove a Corvette in Autocross events. 19. Chaired the “Fun One” regional race; ’90, ’92, ’98, ’02 and ’05. This event was started by Roger Clouser as the Invitational and later became the Fun One. 20. ’08 – Elected region secretary. Many of the things he did for the region did not make the list. I think in reality that Gene’s greatest contribution has been his love of his fellow man and compassion for others in their time of need. “A friend in need is a friend indeed!” is a phrase that personifies how important it has been for Gene to help his friends in their time of need! Congratulations Gene and thank you from your fellow member in the Finger Lakes Region! You know that you will always have our heartfelt love, appreciation and admiration! How about it gang – Let’s give Gene the standing ovation that he deserves. I am Elizabeth Hughes and Gene Dinkel is my father. I am writing to let you know that he will not be able to attend the Jun 3rd FLR picnic, as he has
developed some additional health issue just within the past several weeks. We appreciate the invitation and the fact that he would be recognized for his 55 years of membership, and we regret that he is unable to attend. My dad’s years in SCCA created many of his best memories, and he truly loved all the activities in which he participated and treasured the many friends he made. Please give his regards to any of his old friends who may attend. Thanks, Elizabeth

Sylvan C Barlow Taken from an interview of Syl by his son Ken. In 1964 Syl crewed for Art Smith at Nelson Ledges at the request of Thomas Sagar. Tom mentioned joining the Finger Lakes Region of the Sports Car Club of America. Upon returning from the weekend, Syl sent his membership and started his 50 years. Those years started with crewing for different teams at Watkins Glen, Nelson Ledges and Limerock. Among the repairs, breakdowns, engine tuning and even family camping was the overheating of Bobby Burns’ MGA. Flipping the fan blade cured the problem. Syls racing started with driver’s schools in Dave Martin’s “factory right hand drive Austin Healy”, an MG 1100 and Jim Nolan’s Formula V. Racing then went on to a ’62 AH Sprite, painted yellow with spare furniture paint. The yellow turned to blue in the early 70s and Irene painted a Snoopy in his finest flight gear on the rear quarter panel. That car was replaced due to rust by a “candy apple tangerine” bugeye built up from two cars. In the early 70s, Syl and Jack Williams acquired a large supply of steel channel and had a pair of matching trailers welded up. That trailer is still in use today, a testament to the skill and strength of the builder. In November ’87 Syl fell at work and smashed his hip, ending his racing career as a driver. He continued his SCCA career by flagging, working a booth at car shows and eventually chairing the Fun One in ’07 and ’08.

45 Years
John De Seyn My 45 Years by John DeSeyn I first heard about SCCA from a coworker at Kodak in 1968. He had an MGB and run a few gymkhanas and told me about an event at the Monroe County Fairgrounds (on a dirt track). I had a ’67 Corvette, put my snow tires on and won my class. Did some more “Solos” that season, next season got some better tires and Koni shocks, and believe got 2nd in class at the NEDiv Solo runoffs – beat by a fellow that had been to a driver’s school. Figuring I better learn how to drive faster in the spring of ’70 I bought Bob Henderson’s DP Datsun 2000. I ended up using Bob’s GP Datsun 1600 for two schools to get my license, because the 2000 wasn’t ready in time for early schools. Progressed through my novice races (we sported novice stripes on our cars to warn others of our propensity for dangerous behavior) in time to get my national license and run a few nationals that first season. I learned that the top national guys were a lot faster than the regional guys and that I needed to pucker up and get the hammer down. Managed to win NYSRRC DP that first year, did the full national season the next year and went to the Atlanta RunOffs® where I smoked the engine in qualifying and managed a sixth place with loaned engine parts from Dave Manzolini and an all-night engine rebuild. Next season I screwed up a chance to go Trans-Am racing due to getting cold feet financially and in the process sold my good Datsun race car (that I should have kept and developed), sat out a frustrating your or two then bought a Lola T250

Formula Super Vee . Ran that at the Glen 6 hour weekend, qualified mid-pack, started in the rain without rain tires, got impatient and crashed pretty heavily, with one wheel left on the car – darn expensive weekend. Raced Super Vee Gold Cup for a couple of years, didn’t do great, found that I really needed sponsorship to run a pro series. The Gold Cup series then switched from VW/Porsche boxer 4s to water cooled Rabbit based motors and my T250 became uncompetitive for the pro series. About this time Fran McAllister suggested I try running his 914 EP Porsche and that became my ride for about four seasons. Made three trips to the RunOffs® with one DNF and no National Championships) but many good races and lots of experiences. While racing the 914, I was hearing about ProRally, which I wanted to try. I unwisely tried to do both ProRally and road racing at the same time, first with the 914, and then for a brief time with Craig Horning in the pro Showroom Stock endurance series, where we started off with a bang in my first race, winning the Sebring 12 hour in our class, but only after the scorers agreed with us days later that we were a lap ahead of the originally declared winning Honda factory team. I then did ProRally for a number of years, first with a Plymouth Fire Arrow, then a VW GTI (in which I never really mastered FWD) and then a Toyota MR2. The Toyota had better traction than the other 2WD production cars but was too heavy and had terminal snap oversteer. Later there were a couple of good finishes in Rusty Campbell’s Toyota pickup. I had some great rally experiences, from long and snowy POR, to icy and frigid Pierce Neige, to 100 plus degree heat in Arkansas Traveler; with some great navigators for whom I developed a ton of respect, including Gail McGuire, Andy Mayfield and John McArthur. John and I had our best finish in the MR2, a second in class in the Great Smokey Pro Rally out of Helena, Georgia. Plus, good rallying/ good fun in many of our own Winter Rally Series events. Along the way, I enjoyed the privilege of being a director, assistant RE, RE, FLR/ Glen joint Driver’s School chief instructor for three years, chief STPR® scrutineers
for several years. I shared late nights, good and bad times with wonderful crew that became lifelong friends (Chris Bucknam, Andy Potter, Jon Kemp, Chris DeMinco, Bill Fingerlow); and had the opportunity to compete and work with so many good people, many in this region, who became personally important in my life over the years. Thank you all – registrars, directors, officers, corner workers, stewards, medical, scrutineers, etc. – for 45 memorable years. John M Flowers Michael Lilley A brief description of my 45 years of SCCA membership by Mike Lilley I grew up in Elmira so I naturally joined the Glen Region, switching to the Finger Lakes Region after I stopped going to Elmira. In the Glen region I rallied and autocrossed until I was old enough (you had to be 21 then) to get a competition license. At Watkins Glen International (even though the track wasn’t called that then) I worked for Timing & Scoring in Pit 50 for a while and worked the “Fuel Crew” (don’t know if that still exists) for several years where we would be providing fuel for the F1 cars and hauling 55 gallon drums of racing fuel for the 6 hour endurance cars. Once I got my competition license I raced: Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider Veloce in FP, Tecno in FB and FA (thanks to “Le Patron” FLR member Dave Goodnight), Austin Healy Sprite in HP for two endures, Pinto in SSC in one enduro, Caldwell in FV (thanks to FLR member Robert Guhde), Capri in GT3 and Escort in IMSA International Sedan. I now run autocrosses in a Kart which I share with my daughter. I have never been able to fit in being in any offices in the club; maybe someday after I’m retired, if I’m still on this side of the dirt.

Timothy S Barge ”My active years in SCCA were the best years of my life. ‘It is better to have raced and lost than never to have raced at all.’ But of course winning was the ‘bestest.’ As for activities, Linda and I

did a little bit of everything. I remember testing and flagging for a week at Road Atlanta. I remember a few years later when our Japanese exchange student daughter met Paul Newman. There are sooo many memories that have faded over time. We had a lot of fun until the ‘yellow flags’ began flying over Kodak. Then the red flag flew. Driving fast was fun, but the sudden stops hurt, I think, but I can’t remember. Thank God I had the best brain bucket that money could buy. We are too soon old and too late smart. This old body requires TLC to finish the last laps. I will be thoroughly restored someday by the Lord.” Tim served the Finger Lakes Region as: Fun One race chair in ’82, Regional Executive in ’84 and ’85, Director in ’86’87 and ’91-’92, Comp Board ’89-’90 and National Race Chair in ’93. He also received the Outstanding Contribution to the Region award in ’82.

Meridith L Croucher “I have been asked how I got involved in racing and my stock answer is that I got a divorce. The people that brought me to the track are not together anymore, but I still keep in touch through e-mail and Facebook. What I found was acceptance for who I am. I found through the years, the club has continually challenged me and made me grow. I am no longer afraid to speak in public. I have skills that my job is beginning to recognize. (This two years from my planned retirement.) I am a HAM radio operator through my association with STPR®. I have strength I didn’t know I have (I backed down a room full of PA DCNR Rangers when they were going to cancel STPR WOW) The award that means the most to me is the Gene Dinkel Outstanding Worker Award that I received in ’94. I have tremendous respect for the man and what his generation accomplished with the club.” Meridith has served the region as: Fun One Race Chair in ’91 and ’94, Assistant Regional Executive in ’00 and ’01, National Race Chair in ’01, Regional Executive in ’02 through ’04 and STPR Chair from ’05 to now. In addition to

winning the Gene Dinkel Award Meridith has been recognized with the Outstanding Contribution to the Region and the Top End Award. James H Martin James was a business man in the Rochester area, who pulled of an amazing transformation in the late ‘90s. He raced a Sports 2000, which he then converted into a CSR (he added fenders, etc.). He qualified for the RunOffs®. But lost his clutch on the pace lap and spun. He managed to get going again and finished either third or fourth in his group. He was awarded the Driver of the Year (John and Emily Castle Trophy) in ’97. James now lives in the Detroit area. Wish you could have attended James, but congratulations for your35 years with the Finger Lakes Region and SCCA. Marilyn S Randall In the “olden days” the Fun One was held after the Formula One Grand Prix at the Glen, putting it the third week in October. My husband, Wayne, had been working Emergency Services with RCA at the Glen and I went along to that Fun One to spectate. The previous Formula One weekend had been cold and rainy, making many of the flaggers ill, and the club short staffed. So I was recruited at the last minute to work a flag station. Lyn Wechsler was my first station captain. I became hooked! I flagged until 1977 when, because of my EMT experience, I was recruited by Dr. Bob Wadsworth, who was the Emergency Services Coordinator at the time, to be part of a new rescue truck experiment. It was called MPV, multipurpose vehicle, and was the first rapid response vehicle on the track. In 1979 I was part of the first allwoman rescue team at a race track for F1. I also got to work on the CART rescue vehicle when they were at Watkins Glen. When the Grand Prix Corporation folded I continued working medical on the trucks until Corning Glass and International Speedway bought the track. At that time, Kathi Burns form the Glen Region and I were asked to head up the medical volunteers, a position I kept until 1998. When NASCAR arrived, they decided
that no women would be allowed between the blue rails. I informed them there would be a problem, as over half of my medical staff and a third of the tow truck vehicles were operated by women. They soon saw it my way, as without those services, the first race would have to be cancelled. Next year, I was given a pin from NASCAR for being the worker of the year at the Glen, the only track who had women workers. While Regional Executive of the region we negotiated with Nelson Ledges to hold a regional race at their track. Expenses to hold races at Watkins Glen kept escalating, so we wanted to have an alternate place to play if it became prohibitive to race at the Glen. My daughter, MaryAnne Shults, phoned me from California one day to say “FLR needs a website.” What is a website? I asked. John McArthur presented the idea to the FLR board. MaryAnne and her husband John both hosted and maintained the site up to the current year. The site was one of the first in the whole SCCA fir the country. It has won many awards at the National Convention, making our region very advanced in use of modern media. I worked STPR® in 1978. At that time, with a group of friends, I worked a traffic control. The following year Fran McAllister came to me and we worked out a safety plan for the Pro Rally that was very primitive! Each year, FLR made improvements to the safety of Pro Rallying, many of these procedures still being used today, such as the OK/Red Cross sign; use of medics at the start of each stage and roving MD vehicles equipped with advanced life saving equipment. During my thirty five year with the Finger Lakes Region I have made many good friends. The club has enriched my life. I give thanks for the opportunity to continue to belong to our region. Lynn has served the region as: Emergency Services Coordinator in ’82, Activities Director in ’86, ’02 and ’03, Assistant Regional Executive in ’87, Regional Executive in ’96 through ’99 and Westward Ho! Race Chair in ’00 through ’03. She has been recognized by the region as Outstanding Contribution to

the Region and Worker of the Year in ’81 and received the Top End Award in ’86. Joseph A Vaccarella Joe began flagging at Watkins Glen in the late ‘70s, and then caught the racing bug. He bought a Formula Ford and attended driver’s schools at Jim Russell in Canada and at the Glen. Shortly the responsibilities of his family of three children came first in his priorities. Joe then fed his “need for speed” racing Sprint Go Karts at Avon. He raced with Tony Illaqua in the Arthritis Foundation events in conjunction with the Finger Lakes Region. Joe hopes to come back to the Glen soon in a volunteer capacity. Although he has not been active, he has continued his membership and has followed region activities with interest. Marianne Way J Daniel Way Dan and Marianne were active rally workers receiving the Finger Lakes Region Rally Worker of the Year for 2000. Dan was also active in Solo being recognized as Sportsman of the Year in ’03.
