Best dressed of the week! Best dressed of the week goes to this Latina mami. Her makeup is just the right amount to enhance and compliment her natural beauty as well as her dress. The dress hugs her in all the right places and most importantly she recognized that it’s too busy for accessories, sometimes less is more ladies.
I love to see people making an effort and all these ladies made one but baby girl in the zebra chose the wrong color of eye shadow. Just because its a pretty color doesn’t mean its for you. Makeup works wonders for some people but on you its just workin my nerves. Earthtone colors would be lovely with your complexion. Try again! If you see someone with terrible fashion, or they just might need alittle Pinky advise, send a picture and comment to pinkyscorner@yahoo.com. You can also find me on Facebook!
Girlfriend on the left needs a serious HAIR makeover! What look were you going for? wet dog? Everything aint for everybody and some people just cant rock certain syles and the curly look definitely isn’t for you. Your hair looks like its depressed. Give it some zoloft or cut it off boo.

e believed, but the dream just wasn’t a reality. The Magic were not able to hold their own up against the Lakers, but the city surely did not let down their support. We continued to honor the celebration through the wee hours of 4am while still hoping we could capture the Finals Championship. Nevertheless, the parties kept flowing, and I, your dedicated experience seeker, made sure to do my research. This week I visited new parties to hit the scene. Did you make it out?
WHEN ALL ELSE FAILS, TRY A PUBLICITY STUNT! I was invited out by the fantastic DJ Nasty, via email, to come check him out at the all new “Paparazzi” party hosted at Roxy. Now, I was there for the finale of “Phat Fridays”, and was wondering what Frontline would now do with their Friday nights. At the closing of the last party, it didn’t dawn on me that they just may be pulling a publicity stunt and would still have a party at Roxy on Friday nights. Once I had learned that this was a new party by the same promoters, I couldn’t help but to wonder what would be different about the two. When I arrived, I noticed the only difference was more camera men, and camera bulbs constantly flashing; hence “paparazzi”. The crowd’s the same, the music is the same, and the ambiance is still the same. Don’t get me wrong, all these elements are well entertaining and worth experiencing, but I am having a hard time understanding the purpose and efforts to change up the parties name. However, logistics of the party have changed up, and I do like those. For instance, when entering into the club, you are forced to go upstairs first, and then walk back downstairs if you choose to. Also, they have moved the DJ booth lower to the dance floor, and placed two stripper poles on each side of the booth. I love this; It hypes up the DJ and is a great visual for the crowd. Nevertheless, this is Pat Nix & Willie Fisher that we are talking about, so I am sure they’ll take it to the next level. Trust I cannot WAIT to see that next level. Celebrities in attendance included both Allen Iverson and our very own Dwight Howard.
“DOLCE FAR NIENTE” @ LA PALAZZA APARTMENTS The battle of the pool parties have begun, and boy will it be a battle. This particular party is held over in the Metro West area and is hosted by the other half of the promoting
team from last year’s “Perla” pool party. This is where the main battle will take place: “Dolce” vs. “Perla”. Trust when I said they will continue throughout the summer fighting over their shared audience. I can’t wait to see which party to call the reigning champs, but only you, the experience seeker, could be the judge of it. The system is the same; pay one price, drink all you want. However, the price of $20 is more appealing to most over the $30 for “Perla”. Yet, ”Dolce” needs to work on their liquor sponsors because serving only Jose Cuervo Tequila and Parrot Bay Rum in order to increase your liquor sales out on the “cash bar” can only harm your attendance rate. People are expecting to pay one rate and receive all they can like they would at other pool parties. Though I like the idea of a cash bar for premium drinks (i.e. Ciroc, Belvedere, Captain Morgan, Patron, etc.), there needs to be more of a selection out on the “all you can drink” bars. Trust when I say you will lose your crowd to “Perla”, where they have full “all you can drink” bars, partnered with nonprofit organizations, and provides live entertainment. On the other hand, “Dolce”, which is sponsored by Penthouse Energy Drink, is more attractive and aesthetically appealing; more cabanas for rent, prettier pool lay out, VIP clubhouse, and day beds by the poolside. However, none of that matters to those about the value of a dollar. So I say Noah, and all those that are on your team, keep your head high in regards to those who you battle. Focus on what your audience wants, not how you can beat the others. If you build it right…they will come…and you could be critically acclaimed the “Pool Party of the Summer”. Well, it’s official; the summer is definitely here. The pool parties have started & other promoters are starting new events in efforts to take advantage of the extra time we have on our summer hands. Want to catch me next week? Check me at the most sensational party hyped on the streets “Studio 54 Orlando”, taking place Monday June 29 at Senso downtown. Also, for the July 4th celebrations, you can catch me at the anticipated “Boss Affair”, hosted by our favorite “Bosses” DJ Nasty & Ricky Padilla at the Global Gallery which is also located downtown. All questions, info, or invites can be sent to starletinthestreets@ gmail.com. Until then, LET’S CELEBRATE!

MAYBE NEXT YEAR! By Jim Brothers
O
ur Magic started out strong, but it was a little like watching a sprinter in a marathon. I think we had every opportunity to keep our lead after that exhilarating first quarter, but we seemed to just run out of steam. It was apparent which team had the upper hand as the clock crept closer to half time. I hate to talk shit about our boys, but we just don’t have the experience as an established team that the Lakers have. The Magic as a whole is still a fairly new team. Acquiring coach Stan Van Gundy only 2 years ago, along with Rashard Lewis, and Rafer Alston, Mickael Pietrus and Courtney Lee this year, it might take just a little more time to build that chemistry required to compose a solid team. Our Leaders, Dwight Howard and Hedo Turkoglu looked good but it wasn’t enough to pull the team together for a victory. We still made too many mistakes to truly deserve the title. If you recall, there was three whole minutes in which we just couldn’t get that damn ball to drop! As for the Lakers, I am ashamed to say, they truly earned the championship. Kobe Bryant really worked well with his team and the “one-man-show cockiness” seems to be fading. Without Shaq, he was forced to learn how to cooperate with the rest of his squad.
It’s funny to me how much of Michael Jordan I see in him, from the fade-away jumpers to that amazing fake with the right hand switch to the left under the arms of the defenders lay up. He even did the whole jump and punch the air while kicking the legs out thing after they nailed down the win. I guess he still wants to be like Mike. And what’s up with Pau Gasol? This Geico caveman look-a-like is starting to make a name for himself. If you didn’t know who he was before the Finals...you do now. I have to say he played well because if I said he looked good, I’d be lyin’!
SEPERATED AT BIRTH? With all that said, and with the disappointment that I’m sure you all still feel over the loss, we should be very proud of our Orlando Magic. We did, of course, make it to the finals! We also have much to look forward to next year as we enter into year 3 with coach Van Gundy and our new stadium downtown. Let’s hope our guys can pull it together, perfect those free throws, and develop that strength that other well-seasoned teams like the Lakers already possess. | 19

FLYERPROMONOW presents
Dear Shannon, Attorney Shannon A. Ligon has teamed up with Flyer Promo Now to bring you latest in Entertainment & Legal News in a weekly news and advice column titled Dear Shannon, News and Advice from the ‘Entertainment & Legal Diva’.
H
eeeeeeeey Orlando! It’s the one and only Entertainment & Legal Diva, Shannon A. Ligon, bringing you the latest in Entertainment, Legal News, and advice in my weekly column Dear Shannon. Check in weekly to get the latest news and advice. Need Relationship Help? Have an Entertainment or Legal Question? Email ShannonLigon@gmail.com. Names and emails will be kept confidential. While the NBA Finals are over and L.A. took home the golden trophy I got wind of some crazy celebrity antics and exciting news. Word is that while our man Kobe Bryant and the rest of the Lakers were staying in Orlando at the Ritz, no one, not even his teammates or coaches could ride the elevator with him. This seems to be standard policy for any hotel Kobe stays in, but not even letting Coach Jackson on the elevator? Come on. But could this policy be due to his prior hotel related incidences?!?! Probably so, it’s in his best interests that those pesky front desk receptionists and maids not be within arm’s reach of him while staying in a hotel because we know what might happen! And while we all saw Chris Brown sitting court side with other hip hop greats such as Lil Wayne, sources close to the star have reported that he’s still in Orlando working on his forth coming album. Last Wednesday, super producers, Cool & Dre were seen visiting the studio to provide music for Chris. Turns out his songwriters were the only ones seen working though. Chris Brown let his songwriters lace the tracks with lyrics, while he went down South to Miami to attend Pleasure P’s album release party. Must be nice. But let’s pray for C-Breezy as his next court date approaches June 22, 2009. And it’s official Usher is shooting Tameka ‘the deuces’ and the two are getting divorced! While we all saw this coming, my question is, why didn’t Usher? It’s bound to cost this brother some money when the dissolution becomes final, just because there are small kids involved. I hope they

A weekly Entertainment, Legal News & Advice column from Shannon A. Ligon, The Entertainment & Legal Diva had a pre-nup or else Tameka’s plastic surgery routines may continue to be paid by Usher. Good thing he started recording some new music, sometimes it’s cheaper to keep her! And on to some much needed advice... Dear Shannon, Last week I found out my boyfriend of six years had been messing with my best friend. So I went to her house to get some questions answered only to find his car at her house at 11:30pm. Needless to say we ALL got into it, punches were thrown, the cops called, and I was given a trespassing charge. What should I do? Thanks, Heartbroken and still in love Dear Heartbroken: Haven’t we learned anything from Chris Brown and Rihanna?!? Violence + Love = Court Time! First off, a boyfriend of six years; you should have made him put a ring on it by then. But he doesn’t seem like he’s worthy of you anyways, if he’s out sleeping with your best friend. He needs to go AND she needs to go! Never make someone an option when they make you a priority. And your trespassing charge, whatever you do PLEASE stay away from your (ex) best friend and her house. Then dust yourself off, engage in some retail therapy, buy you a freakum’ dress and go out a snag a new man! Try hitting the Y.E.S. Party @ Citrus on June 27, 2009, hosted by Jay Leon & Ricky P. There’s always fine men there, go out and find an upgrade! “Wherever you go, go with all your heart.” ~Confucius
