s you may have noticed, I love to go out. Each week I try to expose some really hot spots for you to visit, but they mostly have been night clubs. I just don’t know if you realize all there really is to do in this city. Orlando is not just for Mickey Mouse & David Siegel. It’s a city for those on the go. So this week, I wanted to take you on an evening in the streets. I like to start with a pregame, have a nice dinner, and then take off to the parties. So…let’s go! PRE GAME: There’s this beautiful spot called Ember located off Central Blvd. It has this amazing outdoor terrace area with a couple of bars and plenty of places to post up and get the round of shots started. There’s also indoor seating, and a full menu if you wanted to start with some appetizers. There’s usually a DJ, but sometimes they have live music. Great drink specials, and a great way to kick of the night. GRUB: It’s always a better idea to have a nice meal before a night on the town. That way you don’t get too drunk, and you won’t have the desire to eat after the club… just a little healthier. While you’re downtown, a great restaurant to check out is Kres Chop House. I love this place! As soon as you walk in the door, you don’t even feel like you just stepped off Church St. Such beautiful décor and the ambiance is what I like to call “woosaa”. This place is known for its steak, and it’s great for sharing if you want to eat light.
PARTY: Depending on the day of the week depends on the party. If you stick around, we will continue to always find the hypest parties in the city! There are some nice smaller venues downtown that you may walk by because you never really had a reason to go inside. I recommend you popping into Latitudes off Church St. It’s on the rooftop, island themed out. Great drink specials everyday of the week. A fantastic spot under the stars! This is just one night with Starlet in the Streets. I like to try some new spots a couple times during the week, so send me some places you like to visit at starletinthestreets@gmail.com. You can also hit me up if you like to find out more about the spots mentioned. Promoters and club owners-have any new events going on? Send me an email, and I’ll let the streets know about it. 'Till next time my friends… LET’S CELEBRATE.

Balling on a Bad Decision! For the shallow ladies in the world, there goal is to find an athlete who will sweep us off our feet, and take us away. Sometimes it can be too good to be true. Once an owner of the most successful and upscale Image' Salon and Spa (black owned salon), Gocha Hawkins was the go to girl. NOW you can find her at the MAC counter in Miami. Yes she is no longer doing hair; just make up, and SHE IS NO LONGER GETTING MARRIED to NFL Pro Travis Fisher (Miami sources tell). Once he got a true glimpse of her past (previous athletes, lesbian relationships, and GOLD DIGGER qualities) he called it off. I mean it was all too fast to begin with, so fast that the ring he gave her belonged to his former fiancee. She was better off dating the girl who gave her everything to begin with.
Ladies never let anything go for a man. If you worked hard to get it, then work just as hard to keep it. L Sad case for her, but I’m sure he is still BALLLINNNNNN (or is his career over too?).
A Bit too much! Accessorizing is key when completing any outfit, however, over doing it can be a big problem. Even though this dress is out dated, it could have looked better minus the colorful beads and the TIE?? The Tie look goes well with a collared shirt, wife beater with a vest, or a dress that is just as dressy as the tie. Sorry but you failed at the attempt to have a different look, instead it just looks like the Tragic case of “Throwing Together.” If you see someone with terrible fashion, or they just might need alittle Pinky advise, send a picture and comment to pinkyscorner@yahoo.com. hether we know it or not, we are still in an economic financial deficit: and it safe to stay that nothing in this world is free: but when you hear the word "Free" you automatically expect something that is in your favor and you give nothing in return "hold on wait a minute something is fr ee but not the way you expect it to be." F.R.E.E. Skateboards is a skateboard company with a big meaning behind it name. The skateboards are not free, but the F.R.E.E. stands for "Freedom Reigns in Each and Every one of us!" This is a true but yet misunderstood statement amongst a lot of us in Orlando and TalkofOrlando. com has the exclusive interview with the owner of F.R.E.E. Skateboards! Payton: What was the reason behind putting the word “free” in the company name? Was this for marketing purposes? ChrisK: Well the name of the company, F.R.E.E. sprouted from Marc Ecko's tagging Air Force One promotional stunt and posted the video of it on his website stillfree.com saying it was a symbol of our freedom to express ourselves. So that got me thinking about our freedoms and the freedom of speech which I have always been a believer in, so I thought F.R.E.E. and automatically "Freedom Reigns in Each and Everyone" came to my mind
?
and my business partner loved the idea. If the word F.R.E.E. attracts customers then so be it but the world needs to learn that nothing in this world is free except our voice! Payton: Explain the meaning behind the name of your company and the whole skateboarding lifestyle. ChrisK: The meaning behind F.R.E.E. is "Freedom Reigns in Each and Everyone" because you have the freedom to do so many things in America. Our slogan is, "The Freedom to Skateboard Movement" because the skateboarding youth of America feels this way and we want to tell all opposition that we do have the freedom to skateboard. Legally we may not but skaters definitely think otherwise. So we decided to push the lesser thought of meaning of free which is, enjoying personal rights or liberty, as a person who is not in slavery and also pushing the first amendment to teach the skateboarding youth of America the freedom of speech. Payton: What is the goal of F.R.E.E. skateboards? ChrisK: Our goal as a company is to become a nationally known skateboarding brand that can be available for purchase at any skateboard retailer and a skateboard company that teaches the youth of America what the first amendment is and what is stands for, freedom. Also at the same time we want to be the skateboard company that pushes the freedom to skateboard movement. Payton: Do you have any events that people can come see the product at? es I’m a chick and I’m talking sports. No I don’t watch them just to look at players’ asses (although some are really nice) nor do I watch just so I know what they look like and I can be first in line for a new baby daddy. I know the rules and regulations and I’m very opinionated so I’m going to give you the latest news and talk a little ISH at the same time….Welcome to TeeSPN Normally during this time of year ESPN isn’t as exciting to me. There is no football or basketball highlights just baseball. Don’t get me wrong I’ll watch a baseball game or two, especially if the Red Sox are playing. But if you are an avid sportscenter watcher such as myself then you know tuning in is still worth it. I don’t know about you but every time I hear about a new trade I get excited for the next season. Although I’m sad to see Hedo Turkoglu leave the City Beautiful I look forward to more Magic rebounding with Dwight Howard and Brandon Bass. Rasheed Wallace to the Celtics is a good thing for Celtic fans but lets hope the Big 3 KG, Paul Pierce, and my fav Jesus Shuttlesworth… just joking, Ray Allen can tame that temper of Wallace and cut back on his technical fouls. Ron Artest to the Lakers is a good look too…lets hope he ruffs Kobe’s crying ass up in the locker room a little. It’s almost time for Football, well at least preseason, and I’m definitely looking forward to it. I hope the Detroit Lions can win at least One game this season. I heard they love the strip clubs up there. Maybe the strippers can wear the plays in X’s and O’s on their bodies and that might

help. I think the Chiefs will have a turnaround season with Matt Cassel. He did have to step in for what I believe is the best quarterback in the league, Tom Brady, and managed to pull off 11 wins. Closer to home, The Tampa Bay Bucs got rid of a few veterans and in turn brought in a lot of new faces including a new GM, a new Coach and a new Quarterback, Byron Leftwich, who may be throwing passes to Plaxico Burress. If Plaxico can get his affairs in order and get Roger Goodell back on his side I’d love to see him in a Bucs jersey.
30 Second Time Out This 30 second time out is for Travis Henry. The former Broncos running back, T-Hen, was sentenced to 3 years in prison for trafficking cocaine. Talk about Running the Rock… lol. I know it’s a recession and with all those kids any extra money can help but now he’ll be making pennies a day. This is a time where the risk definitely wasn’t worth the reward. All jokes aside, keep your head up Travis, I hate to see Black men go to Prison.
In the Huddle Listen carefully guys…please get your jump offs psychologically checked before making them any promises. Dirk Nowitzki has a con artist Baby Mama who btw looks like she should be playing power forward in the D league. We know what happened with Steve McNair, may he Rest in Peace, Arturo Gatti’s wife allegedly strangled him with her purse strap (that he probably bought), and I heard some broad is selling NBA All Star players’ semen online. You know what they say…never trust a big butt and a smile. Wrap it up and YOU flush the condom! Groupies: Michael Jordon’s son, Marcus, will be playing at UCF…I’m sure MJ will be in attendance for a few games if you like ‘em old.

ALL PRO'S OWN B
DJ NICE
etween Co-Hosting DJ Prostyle’s radio show on 95.3 from 7 to 11 pm and rocking the hottest parties from New York to Florida 6 nights a week DJ Nice has a full plate. With ambitions of being the next big DJ, Nice keeps grinding, even on his off nights! I had the opportunity to see the way DJ Nice rocked a party on the 4th of July at the Pool Party on rooftop of City View apartments hosted by Team Skeam Promotions, FlyerPromoNow, and Monster Energy Drink (Part II coming soon) and then was able to sit down and speak with Nice about a few topics including his inspirations for continuing in this industry.
Jarvis Grace: Nice what’s good with you? DJ Nice: Everything is good man. Blessed! Living day by day. JG: How long have you been spinning records? Nice: I’m 25. I’ve been spinning records since like I was 17. JG: What got you into DJing that made you really take it serious? Nice: Coming out of middle school going to high school I wasn’t doing good in school so I moved to Boston. When I was up there DJ Gera and DJ Lus took me in and started showing me how to DJ. They took me to a club with them when I was like 16, it was a 21 and up club, but I saw them doing their thing and I knew then that this was what I wanted to do. When I moved back to Orlando I used to hear Disco on the commercials for Caribbean Beach Club and Palladium and Prostyle on the radio for the hot clubs so I just took it from there. JG: Were there any DJ’s you listened to coming up that influenced you?

By Jarvis Grace
Nice: First and foremost DJ Danny S. I also listened to Disco, Prostyle, Nasty, DJ Solo, DJ Precise, DJ Gera, and DJ Lus. I also listened to the legendary DJ Kid Capri. JG: So you’re affiliated with DJ Prostyle and the All Pro family. How did that come about?
Nice: I always knew Chino since I was young like 16 but I used to look up to Pro when he used to work with 102 Jamz and Nasty. I met him at Palladium, my man Bravo was already down with the clique and brought me around. I became tight with Prostyle after he moved back from New York and he found out I was doing all the clubs around Orlando. Pro and I are kind of like Pro and Nasty were a while back. We formed the All Pro DJ’s which turned to the All Pro Family which ranges from New York to Orlando. JG: As a DJ do you feel it is your responsibility to break new hot artists and new tracks? Nice: I always listen to local artists. When I’m in the car a lot of the time I throw local artists in the cd player over the well known dudes. JG: Are there any local artists you listen to who you feel have the potential to make in big in the industry? Nice: There is a lot of talent out here. Shout outs to Fed Up, Wes Fif, P.I. Bang, Drop, Traffic, The Whole All Pro Fam, Papa Duck, and Sonny Chulo. JG: How much has the Reggaeton movement grown since you started and how has it influenced your career as a DJ?
Nice: Most of all the clubs I do besides 2 nights are Reggaeton nights. Orlando is one of the biggest markets for reggaeton music and I don’t see the movement dieing because cats still charging between 20 and 70 thousand a show. I am the Hip-Hop DJ of the crew though, I used to DJ 21 and up crowds since way back. So if Reggaeton dies down I have many other avenues to go down. JG: Where can people find you at when you are not on the Radio at Power 95.3? Nice: I co-host Dj Prostyle’s show on 95.3 from 7 till 11, but I work 6 nights a week and when I’m off on Tuesday’s I’m still in the club working, so it never stops! Monday I’m at Tavern on the Lakes, Wednesday’s at Roxy Nightclub, Thursday at Tight Racks, Friday Club Element, Saturday Club Destiny, and Sunday at Roxy’s. One Thursday out of each month I am at Club Seri 56 in New York. JG: Tell us a little about Team Skeam Promotions and what you’ll do. Nice: Shout out to my man Jay Jerkins! His first account was with TVT then he branched out on his own. Team Skeam has numerous accounts including Monster Energy Drink, All
Pro, 95.3 and Jerkins manages me as well. Between me and Jerkins we are trying to take it to the next level of promotions and parties in Orlando. We are also working with Maino trying to get on tour. JG: Is there anything else you want to bless the readers with? Nice: I got to give my shot outs! Big ups to that whole All Pro Family, Team Skeam Promotions, Jerkins, My man Ant Doggy and the GMC Family. One time for all the DJ’s from the era of buying their own records, that’s the era I’m from! Shot out to Serato for making my job easier. Shot out to the whole Orlando period, I do this for ya’ll! Shout out to ya’ll FLYERPROMONOW, my man Mert, of course you Jarvis and J-Bo for giving me this opportunity. With DJ Nice and the All Pro Family doing something almost every night of the week you’re bound to run into them somewhere. So if want to get out of the house, the listings for where you can find them is listed above, you can also reach DJ Nice on Twitter @DJ Nice, Myspace at DeeJayNice, and for booking info contact Jay Jerkins at 407.914.5699.

nd it's official...NBA baller Kenyon Martin and Florida rapper Trina are officially coupled up! The duo was featured in an Urban Ink magazine spread with Kenyon showcasing his share of tattoos. The coupled has been linked together as of late last year following a minor car accident while attending a charity event in Belize. Looks like smooth sailing for these two. NFL player Terrell Owens joins the rest of "The T.O. Show" cast during the show's premiere at SkyBar in West Hollywood, CA. The show premiered earlier this week, but you can expect random craziness from T.O. and his crew. Good luck on and off the field Terrell! R&B singer Ne-Yo must really be feeling the effects Michael Jackson's passing. During a recent performance in Manchester, the singer broke down and started crying uncontrollably when he was giving MJ a special tribute. The singer got so choked up that the remainder of the show had to be cancelled. Wow! Ok, ok, I know I said no more Chris Brown vs Rihanna reports but my man Chris Brown FINALLY apologized via the world wide wide. Brown released a public video posting on YouTube stating he is sorry for the incident which took place 5 months prior. I wonder if this public apology has anything to do with an upcoming album? Stay tuned, word is Rihanna is due to have her own reality TV show and Chris Brown may be making a special appearance on Oprah too. Gotta love entertainment! Quarterback Michael Vick was finally released from federal custody. What happens now for him remains unclear; but apparently he has a reality TV show in the works and the new United Football League may take a chance on Vick and hire him for the new league. Meanwhile, Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank said the former star quarterback deserves a second chance, but it won't be with Atlanta, which has severed ties with its former star. Let's wish Vick good luck as his release comes just in time for training camp.

A weekly Entertainment, Legal News & Advice column from Shannon A. Ligon, The Entertainment & Legal Diva And on to some much needed advice... Dear Shannon, I am beginning my first year in college but am worried about my new roommates. Most of them seem cool, but I grew up as an only child and have become accustomed to living as such. What should I do to prepare for college life and my roommates? Sincerely, -Off to College Dear Off to College, Going off to college is great experience, but college living is an experience in itself. I have seen successful roommates and some not so lucky situations. At the end of the day this is your home, and as such you should give and be treated with respect from both your roommates and their guests. While you may not know your roommates yet, have an open mind about the situation, these could grow to be your life long friends! Never lose sight of common sense though. You are living with several new people whom you don't know. Lock you stuff up, until you feel comfortable and even then keep a close eye on your personal belongings. (Their friend's may have sticky fingers; you'd be amazed about how many CDs and DVDs end up missing!) I also suggest getting renter's insurance as well. This not only protects your valuable but is relatively affordable, some rates are as low as $12 per month. Your landlord's policy likely won't pay to replace any of your stuff. That's up to you. You have a lot of money invested in your personal property — and it's worth protecting. Good luck in college and better luck in your new home! Be Blessed, Shannon “If you love life, don't waste time, for time is what life is made up of." -Bruce Lee
