P
arty, party, party…we’ve all been wasted all summer long! Now, the solace has passed, and it is officially fall. No more excuses for binge drinking, staying out all night, or waking up not remembering the night before. Fall is here, and it’s time to re-focus. Students are back in school, family vacations have come & gone, it’s time to face reality. Now, just 'cause we need to get back in to the work mode doesn’t mean there isn’t room to still party. My philosophy? Work hard, play even harder! And that’s just what I plan on doing, and I am taking you all along with me!
“RELAX” @ Tavern on the Lake Now, I was sure to attend any and all pool parties that were held over the summer. So when I saw promotions for the “nation’s largest pool” hit the streets, I couldn’t wait to see how this party would turn out. I got nervous once I heard it had been postponed. I thought to myself, “see, another promoter not able to really make it work." Nevertheless, it did manifest two weeks after its original date. Though I truly believe the original date (Labor Day weekend) would have been ideal for this type of event, the production for this party was amazing. It was, without a doubt, the biggest pool party to ever hit Orlando! They had actual boats acting as their VIP sections. Food and retail vendors were out selling their products. I was impressed by the football tent, where they had large leather couches, three large flat screens playing the games, all covered in the shade. Very swanky! They had nice, super-dupped up cars displayed. There was a company doing massages. The pool was incredibly large, filled with floaties and rafts. The setup was fantastic. DJ ET performed for the majority of the night, then shut down by DJ PointBlanc. A couple local artists performed briefly, making it just enough entertainment to maintain your attention. Such artists included Popov & Michael Stokes (BlokMovaz) & Kino Sharp. The setup and production was impressive, however, the crowd could’ve been a little thicker. Don’t get me wrong. They had a nice turn out,
but I would suspect that they expected a larger crowd. And when I say “they," I am still unsure of exactly who the promoter was for this event. But I am sure it is safe to say that those boys from The Firm, who basically “own” Tavern, had something to do with it…they were out there after all. I heard they are looking to do this annually. I highly suggest they stick with the Labor Day weekend dates next time. I love the night life. I like to boogie. You probably have figured that out by now. Have you been to a party that was the worst ever and you want to tell the streets about it? Maybe it was the best party ever that you are sure to go to each week. Tell me about it. Having a party you want the streets to know about? We are all looking for an experience when we go out, so I am sure to let the streets know if it’s worth experiencing. So send me all your info, suggestions, requests, etc to starletinthestreets@gmail. com. If you want me to print your email, just let me know. Want to party with me this upcoming couple of weeks? Well, you can catch me Monday at Tavern on the Lake to check out that All Pro party that goes on over there. I always see Garfield having such a blast on Twitter, so I must see what all the fuss is about. I’m also thinking about swinging by “Wine Down Wednesday” at Urban Flats Downtown, then go check out the Plaza Cinema because they are finally showing that Tyler Perry movie “I Can Do Bad All By Myself." If you haven’t checked out our newest theater, what the hell are you waiting on? It’s beautiful & a great asset to our downtown culture! Also, I received an email reminding me that “Studio 54 Orlando” is coming back around again Monday, October 12 at Kafe Khalik at the Prime Outlets, so you know I am really looking forward to that. The last one was amazing, and I can’t wait to see what those girls have in store this time around. Until you catch me out in the streets, LET’S CELEBRATE!

Make up is applied evenly and well, tad bit oily, but over all you ladies look great. You definitely represent for the "BIG GIRLS" very well.

The point of weaves, lashes, and make-up is to enhance your beauty, not look like you entered the wrong Pageant boo boo. Girls are to look like girls, not like men in drag. I can barely see your eyes with those lashes, and I won't get on the blue eyes. Grey would have been better!

Flyer Promo N ow & Talkof Orlando .com
presents this week’s Talk of Orlando, Wreck Wregular. This up and coming local artist will be an influential voice on the music scene as he
Hip Hop with his unique style and remarkable metaphors. Wreck cultivates the true essence of
is also a producer and has produced tracks for
Soulja Boy’s record label SOD Money Gang. In addition to that he is an in-house producer for Chopper, seen on P. Diddy’s, Making the Band Season 2, under his record label MOE, Money Over Everything. This young man has a distinctive flavor of his own and is definitely
Hip Hop to another Following the trend is not his style. He is a trendsetter on the rise! using his creativity to take level.
Glins: Instead of talking about when you started rapping, why don’t you tell us why you started? Wreck: I started rapping out of frustration from being told that I shouldn't rap. Art is art and I only aspire to make money from my artistic abilities. I was kind of cornered into producing so I was writing and producing on a daily basis. When I finally got the opportunity to get in front of the microphone, the caged artistic animal was released. Glins: The game is so saturated with the same themes—clubs, women and money. What do you bring to the mic that is different and original? Wreck: INDIVIDUALITY! I was born in Kansas City, Missouri, raised in Shreveport, Louisiana and started my career as a producer/artist here in Orlando in 2003. With all that influence, my flavor is like no other. Listen to my music and you’ll hear the difference immediately! Glins: Besides rap, what other genres of music are you into? Any artist in particular? Wreck: I also listen to techno and alternative rock. I like Daft Punk, Gorrilaz and Coldplay, to name a few. There are so many I can’t name them all! As a producer, you must be versatile, so I listen to many different kinds of music. Glins: When you’re ready to lay down a track, do you prefer freestyling your rhymes or actually writing them down? Wreck: I am definitely more of an artist that writes. Freestyling is more of an “And 1” trick on the court; that’s why the chances to making it to the big league are slim to none. You must have pen game because as an artist you can always survive by writing for other people. Glins: Three of your songs are on the latest TalkofOrlando.com mixtape. One of those songs, I’ma Get What I Want, is currently playing on 95.5 The Beat in ATL. Tell us more about that single. Wreck: I’m part of a production team called The In Crowd Productions (T.I.C.) and I’m one of the premier artists from the camp. The beat on this track was so hot, I decided to produce the song and my team chose it as my single. Plain and simple, the message of the song is that we all want what we want. Whether you’re a D-Boy or a college student, you want to get what you want, ya know!?!? The video will be shot with Wuz Good and its going to be crazy! Glins: You organized a group called Astro Kids. Tell us about that project and any others that you may be working on.
14
| www.flyerpromonow.com
Wreck: Astro Kids is a Hip Hop group I’m a part of, along with Jay-Bape, Bonez and Vigilante. We preach individuality period. Just be yourself, have your own personality and be your own person, instead of just focusing on [a]
dope production. We dropped Vol.1 at the beginning of the year and got astronomical results, so now the movement is even stronger. We are currently working on Vol. 2 with no projected release date, but trust me, its shaping up to be a classic. Pick up Vol.1 at www.goastrokids.com. Glins: All artists have visions and dreams that they’re chasing, and they’ve learned a lot along the way. What lessons have you encountered on your journey so far? Wreck: The dreams of an artist are hard to achieve until you finally get a breakthrough. It’s just as nerve wrecking as a 9 to 5, but I LOVE it!! I am blessed to be involved with people who are very active in the industry. They keep me going and keep the standards high for our sound. I’ve learned that you have to keep your ideas to yourself and to share them with only a trusted few. There are a lot of leaches in the game and they’re looking to take your ideas and run with them. There are a lot of flawed people in the industry, and in life period. You have to be careful and cautious when it comes to your art. Glins: Any special shout outs you would like to give at this time? Wreck: Shout out to everybody who spins the record with no surveillance on a constant basis, you know who you are. Shout out to anybody supporting the Astro Kids movement. Shout out to Jay-Bape, Bonez, & Vigilante. Shout out to Chopper aka Young City, S.O.D Money Gang, and Grand Hustle. Last but definitely not least shout out to Collab Ent. Big Dox, Truth, DJ Skream, DJ Et, DJ Pointblanc, DJ Greg G, DJ Disco, DJ Disco JR, DJ Elamentz, DJ Ceasar, DJ Msquared, Jesse Maguire, DJ D-Strong and, of course, TalkofOrlando.com for featuring me as this month’s Talk of Orlando. Big ups, to everybody who has supported me. Thank You!

M
o'Nique is gearing up for her late night TV show set to appear on BET the first of October. She is scheduled to have many A-list guests appear, but above anything, expect this to be a funfilled hour of entertainment from the Queen of Comedy herself. Yes, that is Frankie, Keyshia Cole's mom. No, I do not know, what that is holding her, what they are doing or whether this is news worthy; but it sure is funny! And moving on...
While Lil' Wayne celebrated his 27th birthday, Baby aka Birdman helped him celebrate by getting Wayne's birth date tattooed on his arm and buying him a $1 million Chopard watch. Allegedly Jermaine DuPri and Janet Jackson had broken up but the duo was caught partying it up at Fashion Week in Milan with Donatella Versace. Good Luck to them.

A weekly Entertainment, Legal News & Advice column from Shannon A. Ligon, The Entertainment & Legal Diva And on to some much needed advice... Dear Shannon, I recently got a ticket which I think suspended my license but, am wondering if I should tell my girlfriend. I want to tell her only because she's been wondering why I've been hanging with my boys so much. Either way I know I am going to have to hear her mouth; is it worth telling her? -Suspended Dear Suspended, While you may enjoy the extra time you get to spend with your boys, it may pay off in the long run to explain the ticket situation to your girlfriend. Hopefully, she will understand the legal consequences you're having to deal with while trying to make better decisions to not be in this situation again. Figure out your cost/benefit analysis in whether or not you'll get cursed out, when she finds out. If the benefit > costs, go with that option. Also, you may want to check into driving school as it may lower your ticket fines and reduce your driving points. ;) Best of luck, Shannon "Our lives improve only when we take chances and the first and most difficult risk we can take is to be honest with ourselves." - Walter Anderson Love. news - An anonymous phone call was placed to University authorities stating that hazing had started in an undisclosed fraternity. The University has asked all fraternities to suspend pledging while investigations ensue. The allegations refer to a beating that supposedly happened in a hotel off campus. Adam Brock, of the UCF Interfraternity Council, says that the school has a "zero tolerance for hazing." September 30, 2009 - UCF falls short of a Guinness World Record in a Mass Flu Vaccination Event for "flu shots given in an eight-hour time period." The school administered 2,527 seasonal flu vaccines, beating last years turn-out by more than a thousand. The record still stands at 3,271. September 30, 2009

news - Two incidents occurred at Bronson Hall, allegedly unrelated, that eventually led to the arrest of Curtis M. Fluker, 18, and the termination of two Resident Advisors. The dorm was evacuated due to the fire sprinklers being set off accidentally. The second incident, however, started in the RA's office, which proceeded to spill out onto the dorm's court yard. Fluker's arrest was the result of the student throwing a chair through the office window. The RAs were fired after gathered video showed that they "acted inappropriately towards students in a way that violates school policy and exacerbated an already tense situation," says B-CU President Trudie Kibbe Reed. The RAs, in their defense, say they were protecting themselves and did only what they believed was necessary in the situation. Reed stands behind her students and is making sure that they are reimbursed for the damage to their belongings.

or anyone who knows me it is no surprise that my favorite Team is the New England Patriots. I don’t know if Brady isn’t fully recuperated or if the team needs some more time to gel. But barely beating the Bills and losing to the Jets not only irked my nerves but is also unacceptable. The object is to win every game but you HAVE to win Division games. I know it’s still early but you have to set the bar high. There are some teams that are looking good such as The Vikings, The Giants and the Saints. Then there are those teams that lost games they shouldn’t have like in week two when the Patriots, Eagles and the Steelers lost. I saw highlights from all the games; unfortunately the game I did see in its entirety that week was the Patriots vs Jets. Belichick was outcoached that game and the offense struggled. It was the Defense that prevented a potential embarrassment. I am happy though to see the Pats Brandon Meriweather defense holding it down without Richard Seymour and Tedy Bruschi. I have to give props to Apopka’s own Brandon Meriweather for causing the fumble in week one that lead to the Patriots win over the Bills. I am not worried about my team’s chances. They are a tough team and play well under pressure. I know they won’t be going down without a fight. Not sure if I agree but Juan Manual Marquez, who recently lost to Floyd Mayweather, might suggest that to keep up a good fight one should drink his own urine. That’s right! The man drank his own urine in preparation for his fight. Have you ever noticed that no matter what advertisement Tiger woods is in he always shows

the Nike swoosh? I know that Tiger’s Nike contract is large but if he has to show the swoosh even in adds for Cadillac and Gillette then we need a word for larger than large. Only four weeks into the football season and the NBA is about to head to training camp. This is an exciting time Tiger Woods for sports lovers. It’s like a buffet of football, basketball, both college and professional, and the World Series. I’m going to be overwhelmed but I am going to try to talk about as much as possible. 30 Second Timeout This 30 second timeout goes to Delonte West who was pulled over while on his Motorcycle in Maryland. West was carrying a guitar case on his back with a shotgun inside and two other pistols. He must have been riding to Iraq. I don’t know why he was riding like that or better Delonte West yet, why he claims to have been riding so strapped. But all I can think about is how much of a waste of money a bad decision like that is. Now he has to pay lawyers and other associated fees. In the Huddle Kudos to Amar’e Stoudemire for being named a goodwill ambassador after a visit to Sierra Leone where he helped build wells for clean water.
