Corporate Cup

Planned by the YPN, Corporate Cup involves a series of competitive events that promote physical fitness and friendly competition among businesses in the community. Teams battle for points in activities such as volleyball, basketball, tug-of-war and more. The event is open to all employees and fitness levels, and companies may choose Recreational or Competitive division. A sold-out event five years in a row with more than 700 participants.

Women Connect

The Chamber’s Business Training events serve a vital role in strengthening the area’s workforce. Each training is 90 minutes long, with a varying topic designed to improve the performance of area businesses, provide valuable knowledge and develop key skills that will bolster our business community.

Women Connect is a monthly event series that addresses the unique challenges professional women face in today’s business environment. Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) The Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) is a program that transforms middle and high school students into real, confident entrepreneurs. Through the year-long program, students in grades 6-12 generate business ideas, conduct market research, write business plans, pitch to a panel of investors and launch their own companies. From exciting local business guest lectures to dynamic field trips to local companies, students learn how to develop and run a real enterprise in a fun, projects-based approach. YEA! was developed in 2004 at the University of Rochester with support from the Kauffman Foundation.

Young Professionals Network (YPN)

Leadership Fargo Moorhead West Fargo promotes community leadership and professional skill-building by developing knowledgeable leaders committed to growing professionals and personally to benefit their employers, community and themselves. Participants meet one day each month for 10 months to enhance their leadership skills, network with leaders and learn more about the community and issues facing it.

The Young Professionals Network (YPN) empowers our new generation of leaders by teaching critical business skills and introducing them to community leaders and other young professionals. Through training programs and networking events, the program enhances skills necessary for building a successful career. Current membership exceeds 500 people.

Public Policy The Public Policy program serves as the advocacy arm of The Chamber. This program works to preserve the integrity of the business climate by advancing sound policies that promote a stable regulatory environment for the business community to thrive. A committee works to assess initiatives with regional significance, including regulatory, economic development and tax policy, transportation/infrastructure, education, training and workforce development, health care, metro cooperation, and energy and natural resources.

Agribusiness

Military Affairs

An extension of The Chamber’s public policy efforts, the Agribusiness committee serves as a collective voice of businesses and leaders to represent agriculture as a key industry in the metro and Red River Valley. The group advocates at all levels of government when needed and educates to spread awareness of the impact of agriculture throughout the region.

The Military Affairs committee fosters a community of support for the men and women of our military and the missions they carry out on our behalf. With an annual economic impact to the region of more than $65 million and the most reliable arsenal we have to fight floods and preserve the freedom we love, the military’s vital role is undeniable. Funds are used to carry out annual events that support the armed forces at work in the region.
