Schooling for children and access to electricity at the Maison d’Espoir orphanage
L’association d’Erwan à Ella intervient pour soutenir des orphelinats et des centres d’accueil pour enfants en difficulté en Haïti et au Bénin. Elle finance des interventions chirurgicales et diverses urgences, équipe des villages démunis (puits, maisons, barques, équipements dispensaires, écoles), distribue des repas et offre des bourses scolaires. Elle soutient l’orphelinat Maison d’Espoir situé à Port au Prince.
The association Erwan à Ella supports orphanages and shelters for children in difficulty in Haiti and Benin. Its actions include financing surgical operations and diverse emergencies, installing infrastructure in remote, poor villages (wells, houses, boats, health clinic equipment, schools), distributing meals and granting school bursaries. The charity supports the Maison d’Espoir orphanage located in Port au Prince.
L’orphelinat Maison d’Espoir a placé plus de 400 enfants en 15 ans. Aujourd’hui, il héberge entre 45 et 55 enfants. Suite à un incendie qui a ravagé l’ancienne maison en février 2018, l’association loue provisoirement une petite maison. L’établissement est actuellement en reconstruction mais les frais engendrés par cet incendie, ont eu un impact direct sur la scolarisation des enfants. La situation politique très perturbée depuis septembre 2019, accompagnée d’une inflation grandissante, ne permet plus de scolariser une trentaine d'enfants.
The Maison d’Espoir orphanage has found homes for more than 400 children in 15 years. It currently accommodates between 45 and 55 children. Following a fire that ravaged the former building in February 2018, the association temporarily rents a small house. The orphanage is being rebuilt but the costs incurred as a result of the fire have had a direct impact on the children’s schooling. The highly unstable political situation since September 2019 together with rising inflation has led to some thirty children dropping out of school.

Afin de ne pas pénaliser les enfants, l’association sollicite l’aide de la Fondation pour financer les frais d’inscription de 30 enfants pour l’année scolaire 2020/2021. La subvention permettra également d’acheter des batteries et des chargeurs reliant le groupe électrogène, apportant ainsi de l’électricité nuit et jour, dans le bâtiment en location accueillant les enfants. Tout le matériel sera ensuite réutilisé dans l’ancien bâtiment incendié, actuellement en reconstruction. La Fondation Air France subventionne ce projet à hauteur de 18 000 € Projet soutenu par un agent Air France

In order not to penalize the children, the association is seeking the Foundation’s help in financing the school registration fees for 30 children for the 2020/2021 school year. The funding will also make it possible to purchase batteries and chargers connecting the generator, to provide electricity night and day in the rented building accommodating the children. All the equipment will subsequently be used in the old burnt-out building, currently under reconstruction. The Air France Foundation is providing funding of €18,000 for this project Project sponsored by an Air France agent
